Aqua, no question. 

To me, there’s two kinds of favorite characters: Those I see myself in, and those I want to be like. With Kingdom Hearts, while Xion is clearly the former kind, Aqua is the later. She’s my idol when it comes to what being a “strong person” means.

While I’ve seen a lot of criticism of her character (some of it more or less justified), I never could get behind the idea that she was a character who only existed to chase after her friends without much of an arc of herself, as I saw many people read her. That just was never what I got out of her. Instead, I saw a young, responsible, but still inexperienced woman, torn between her loyalty to her friends and her loyalty to her duties. Out of all the characters in Birth by Sleep, she seemed to have the most foresight and act the most competent. The mistakes she made over the course of the story were all caused by her being unsure how to balance her responsibilities towards her Master against her desire to be open and honest with her family (Terra and Ventus), and she suffered from how her elevated status seemed to cause a rift between them, to the point the other two began to find her unrelatable. Despite that, she kept marching forward, believing in them, never resenting them for what was going on, and trying to find a way out of the mess of miscommunication they found themselves in.

This all culminates in her spending 10 years of what amounts to her universe’s equivalent of hell, running on nothing other than her firm, steadfast belief that one day, she’ll be able to set things right if she just keeps walking.

If I’d been in Aqua’s place, I would have cracked very quickly. I’d have abandoned my sense of duty in seconds if it’d have meant to save my relationships, even if that would ultimately have caused all our downfalls, and the Realm of Darkness would have made short work of me as well, I’m sure. That’s why I admire Aqua the most intensely out of all characters in Kingdom Hearts, maybe even in all of fiction: Ever since the Mastery Exam, her life has been a constant tightrope walk, and yet she’s continued to walk, with poise, grace and determination, never letting the temptation to sit down and feel sorry for herself hold her back, even when she’s clearly felt it (as 0.2 proved).

I don’t hate skylanders at all, the series is actually one of my favorites! 

What, you seriously think I’d let any incarnation of that Xehanort creep put his “X” on me, like I’m a spot on a treasure map? :’D Then again, I guess if I were just a random citizen in the KH Universe, I probably wouldn’t know any better. 

Honestly, since Nobodies are basically just strong-willed people with their emotional center removed, I’d figure if that happened to me, I’d just be pretty listless and constantly writing something, as in an attempt to recapture the thrill of feeling emotion. Just an uncaring, listless young woman who keeps writing pages upon pages of soulless stories in an empty room, expecting something to change eventually. 

I’ve always seen myself as a mage-type character when it comes to imagining myself in fantasy scenarios; Extremely physically weak, but with good potential for attack magic and decent healing magic, so I guess that’s what my battle style would be like, and my weapon would be... A huge pen? Maybe? Honestly, given what the rest of the Organization characters had, I wouldn’t be surprised. The assignments of elements in the organization was pretty friggin’ random too, so I guess I’ll just go and say it would be something like “fantasy”. I know that treats pretty close to Zexion’s “illusion”, but I’m not the one who decided to recruit a random 20-something with no special talents aside from writing words for their club. Blame Xemnas. 

Maybe I’d be too much of a shut in like that to even attempt and connect anybody else in Xemnas’ merry little living Horcrux Club, unintentionally sabotaging my own attempts to recover my ability to feel emotion. Oops. 

However, I refused to do the X-anagram thing with my name. Nothing personal, but I’ve just read too much bad fanfiction to ever be able to take myself serious again if I do that- :’D
