Recolorable Wedding Cakes for Sims 2 (by Gdayars)

Here while back, my friend Jo asked me to fix the Pronupsims wedding cakes (available here) as they were very pretty but would error when you would go to cut them.  I went in and looked at them, and realized they were missing some bhavs.  So I fixed them, made them custom slices etc.  Then got the urge to make some more.   I very quickly decided cloning a cake just to make essentially a recolor was for the birds, and just said I would make a recolorable cake instead.  

So that is how I came up with the idea of making a recolorable Wedding cake.  Just blame my friend Jo 😀 or thank her, whichever.  The download link for it is at the bottom of the page.  It is found with the original Wedding cake, for 400 simoleans in the party section.

Now for the technical details below:

Each cake spawns its own individual slice correctly when cut.   The slice is slaved to the cake itself.   This means to make a recolor, you don’t have to worry about recoloring the slice as well, just recolor the original cake.

Since all I was doing originally was making a maxis recolor, but as a clone instead,  the recolorable cake uses the Maxis mesh.   It is rather confusing as to what it requires however, because although it is a base game object, the code for cakes changed in Celebrations, (doesn’t mean the code isn’t compatible with base game exactly tho) but other parts of the package indicate it requires an expansion pack, and the pie menu  mentions dogs and cats.  I am going to say that you need pets and celebrations to be safe, but feel free to try it with just pets.   The polys are the same as the original Maxis wedding cake, and the sizes of the packages (including the mesh itself) are in the kilobytes range.  These are not high texture/high poly items.

The essential part of the mesh includes the Roseweddingcake  package and the rosesweddingcakeslice package.  The rest are all recolors.

It sells fine in an OFB environment, when marked for sale.  Side note:  It works great with the usual mods (putting in the  decra chiller object for instance, and midge’s cake tester mod as well.)  The cake tester mod is found here.

Custom 3t2 Easels diagonal placement fix

Some years ago, Anoeska published this wonderful set that added more painting options to the game. I always found it amazing, it’s such a fresh addition to the game! The only issue was that it was a second set of easel rather than a global mod, which means that all the custom easels shold have been updated separately.

That’s what the great Fractured Moonlight did - she shared a beautiful set of easel conversions from TS3 with the extra functions added and it was one of the most useful CC ever!

Last year, on MTS, gdayars created one of those fixes I was waiting for years - the functional diagonal easel. I admit it, that was one of the best fix ever done, I think everybody was completely sick of the easel working only if placed on the grid.

Few days ago, I wanted to see if was there a tutorial about what gdayars did and I found the tutorial and the kit in the original post - very easy and clear to do - and I was able to edit Fractured Moonlight’s easels and made them working in diagonal/off grid placement.

So:

-The package fixes the 12 original 3t2 easels, converted by @fracturedmoonlight Moonlight;

-I’ve only fixed the main canvas (I don’t use the child and the resized versions of the mod);

-The names are exactely the same as FM’s, if you are already using them, just replace the old files;

-The files are compressed;

-The original meshes are included, thanks a lot Fractured Moonlight!

Hi guys, how’s going?

I’ve fixed few more easels I found around the web, although this time they won’t have the extra functions by AnoeskaB (I guess it’s something about the behaviours in SimPe but I have no idea which ones to replace) - I promise, I’ll look into it!

They are from various creators and I also included the Easel from Castaway stories with all the required files; it’s a pity that most of the sites are dead now, but I’m glad I found this post by HugeLunatic on Sims2Artist (originally on SimCave) that included some easel updated for AL by BlueSoup.

Anyway, again all to all original creators for they wonderful meshes and, especially, to gdayars for the tutorial and the kit to fix other easels.

So:

- The set includes 14 custom easels;

- If you already have any of the original files, let my files replace them - the names are the same;

- The files are all compressed;

- All the meshes are included;

- At the moment, the set includes only the diagonal fix, no “more functional painting by AnoeskaB.

- A collection file is included, I’m also uploading one for my other set;
