“It’s really not that bad, Umi.” But he obliged anyway, pulling a bit at the collar of his shirt and leaning so she could see the bruise on his shoulder. “I was helping with training some new guy at work and he fucked up putting something in top stock. Heavy box, quick reflexes, really bruised shoulder instead of broken merchandise. Or broken customer’s child.”
“Yeah, that wouldn’t be good.”
She inspected the shoulder and sighed.
“Beyond regular first aid, I don’t really have any training for this, but I’d say put an ice pack wrapped in a towel on there for like, 10 minutes, and... I don’t know what beyond that. Sorry.”
