Summer’s practically at our doorstep here in the Northern Hemisphere, and for many people, that means beating the heat by curling up inside with the air-con. (Conversely, the folks over in the Southern Hemisphere are beating the cold with indoor heating, but we’ve got a beach theme going on, so let’s pretend they’re here with us anyway.) And!
Both facts mean more time spent online. Say, reading fanfiction and marvelling over incredible fanworks? What a coincidence!
Might this Host introduce you to the Grand Commentathon Challenge? The first of its name (though certainly not its kind), the GCC is a personal challenge set to encourage participants to play a more active role in their fan-communities. Can you leave at least one comment on a fanwork for 90 days straight? Well, you can at least try!
Starting on May 16th, the GCC 2026 will run for about three months, ending on August 14th. In the two weeks before that time the grand-commentathon-challenge blog will be posting useful resources to help you prepare for the commentathon.
