CABANATUAN, NUEVA ECIJA -- A basic electronic monetary transaction made an unexpected turn when a local resident mistakenly sent PH₱500 (roughly U$D10 bucks) to ONC Foundation Incorporated (ONCFi), an indie non-profit making organization that covers "Negros Island TV8" in 'Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental' under ONC Holdings, rather than the recipient. This mistake, achieved in a stressful situation, has since led to an immediate act of corporate goodwill and the revival of debates on the protection of digital payments.

At around 8:20pm on April 15th, 2026 (Nueva Ecija local time)… 'Ms. Mariz Valiatas', who was a resident of this city, incorrectly transferred the sender to Negros Island TV8's founder and PWD Barangay President 'Rhayniel Saldasal Calimpong' through the e-wallet fintech platform 'GCash' to the said internet public broadcaster and a funding institution, a corporate indie organization that she later found out had nothing to do with the foundation.

ONC Holdings responded promptly to correct the faulty e-wallet fund transfer.

The news team of Negros Island TV8 assured Valiatas that it would give her the full refund of PH₱500, which it would use to pay off her mother's medicines at DPJGMRMC. In a statement, she expressed the honesty in the midst of confusion was welcome, and the fact that the donation was intentionally mismatched to the ONC Foundation in Dumaguete was actually an opportunity to help.
