Maybe it had been cruel of her to have him brought from where they were keeping him to one of the small interrogation rooms but it was all the easier for her to keep up her pretence that way. Besides, there was no harm in a change of scenery for the man either. Lorelei could only hope that this questioning would go better than the one she’d had with the other man she’d been responsible for bringing in. She wouldn’t know until she spoke, really. “I don’t think I need to insult you intelligence by asking you if you know where you’re here.”
“The only question I have for now is are you going to tell us anything, Mr Cabot?” There was an effort made to look the man directly in the eye, as though she could work out what secrets he knew just from that contact. Of course, it might go some way to convincing him of her earnestness at her next words. “It would be in your best interest.” Maybe she could get something out of him where others had failed.
