Richie was at the door the second he heard the sobs on the other end of the line, keys in hand and ready to go get Eddie when he happens to see his boyfriend on the other side. He immediately drops his phone and wraps arms around Eddie’s waist, scooping him up despite the many bags in his hands and kicking the door closed. “Shh, it’s okay baby it’s okay,” he whispers, keeping Eddie in his hold with one arm as free hand helps him place his bags on the floor of the foyer. Once his bags were off, he pulls the smaller boy into his arms; their normal position whenever Eddie came over. He stays right there, locking the door but waiting for Eddie’s legs to wrap around his waist before hand tangles in soft curls. 

She sighs, emerging from City Hall with a copy of her birth certificate in hand. Sonia Kaspbrak. Her biological mother. What was she like? 

A shitty parent if you ask me, dropping off her baby with psycho lab guys. Steve had said when she talked to him that morning. Her husband’s protectiveness was adorable, and something she loved about him. A bunch of kids nearby caught her attention, bickering but overall looking like they were having fun. 

“Oh shut the fuck up Kaspbrak you’re such a spaz! I’ll see you tomorrow!” a boy with glasses had declared, being the last to leave the smallest of the group on his bike, screaming something about an eye doctor appointment as he left.

how do they let each other know they’re leaving the house-They always make a point to kiss each other goodbye and tell them they’ll be home soon.

how do they greet each other when one of them gets home-If they’re awake? They launch into each other with smooches. If one of them is asleep? The one coming home kisses the sleeping one, makes sure glasses are off (Eddie for Richie) or book is put away (Richie for Eddie) before they join them in bed.

who brings home little gifts like flowers/chocolates more often-Richie

who picks the movie for movie night-They switch off

their favorite kind of movie to watch-NOT horror

who first suggests a pillow fort-Richie

who builds the pillow fort-They do it together

who tries to distract the other during the move-I want to say mostly Richie but Eddie’s guilty of doing it too.

who falls asleep first-Eddie. Richie tends to wait until he’s asleep before he’s comfortable enough to sleep bc it means Eddie’s in dreamland and safe.
