Gatco Scepter 2.0 .

 Following on from my initial look at this multi use Survival sharpener and fire-starter here’s a few more pics .

I forgot to mention in the original post that the Scepter comes with full detailed photographic instructions for its best use .

 Whilst Ive not needed to use it yet the instructions are easy to follow concerning using the main sharpener and striking the fire-steel with the tungsten V , using the diamond hone to sharpen serrations and fish hooks / arrows  but I reckon this will be a great addition to my field kit .

Kindly sent to me by the folks at Survival depot http://www.survivaldepot.co.uk/product/gatco_scepter2 to test out and review in the form of a very well thought out knife / tool sharpener and fire starter .

 Made from premium grade 6061/T-6aircraft grade aluminum CNC machined with an anodized coating it looks very much like many of the tactical pens out there in the market place . 

One end features tungsten carbide inserts for sharpening straight blade knives ,  hatchets and machetes etc the other a rounded fat pointed tip that would probably work well as a glass breaker or compliance device .

Inside stores a monocrystaline tapered diamond hone for serrated blades , fish hooks and arrowheads. If you unscrew the diamond hone it reveals itself to be hollow and stores a 4mm magnesium fire-starting rod inside which when used with the tungsten V will produce magnesium shavings for tinder .You can then strike the fire starter rod with the tungsten carbide sharpening inserts and can burn in excess of 5000 degrees F with carefully prepared tinder material .

The internal tools can be used as is or be inverted to thread back into the main handle to create more practical /comfortable handle with more reach , these can then be unscrewed and replaced back into the main handle body for easy and safe storage .
