Do you have actor face claims for any of your characters? What about one actor you absolutely just do not want anywhere near this pretend movie?
OOOH THATāS A GOOD QUESTION!!! It kindof depends on the story in question⦠a lot of my main ocās from fics I donāt have any solid faceclaims for, but the main reason for that is because I could never imagine any actresses (even ones I like) playing them because theyāre all way too skinny (and someday Iāll have a good reason to faceclaim nicola coughlan for something. mark my words. but itās not this day. I love her to death she just doesnāt bring the vibe Iām looking for with some of them). just how the chips fall on that front.
I DO however have a lot of faceclaims for side-characters and parent ocās and child ocās that I develop as part of these stories and Iām thrilled to have an opportunity to share those.
First and foremost I have Lady Sera of the Sapphire Isleās Mother: Marilla Baratheon (who is younger sister to Lord Lyonelās father). She doesnāt show up in the story I still have brewing until around the time of The Mystery Knight (where she shows up at the tourney at Whitewalls in search of her daughter after Seraās engagement to Daeron ended and she effectively absconded with Dunk from the tourney at Ashford for over a year without sending word home). The name came ofc from my faceclaimās (Geraldine James. My Beloved) most notable role in recent years as Marilla Cuthbert in Anne with an E. it just kinda stuck (but then again grrm named a whole generation of tullys after a good handfull of muppets so I donāt feel too bad about doing this)
Juryās still out on who would play the lord of tarth, but trust he will be very fun to cast when I do.
Though a close contender is who I have cast as Lady Terrorās Father, Charles Sinclair (whoās honestly been hard to nail down for me. I oscilate between Nathan Lane and Richard Dean Anderson, though in canon heās meant to be much closer to RDAās real life age). But the reasoning behind this casting choice is that at some point in the first chapter I describe Lady Terror: ā She had rather thought, as she had many times before, that had she been born a man, she may look the very mirror image of him. As it was, though her face was far gentler in its curvature and bearing, and her hair rather a deep warm shade of brown as opposed to his once jet-black locks (which now were nearly all white in his seventy odd years of age), the turn of her nose, and the deep dark brown of her eyes were unmistakably his.ā, and when I picture that something resembling these two men come to mind.
Then of course I have my two Star Wars ocās, the first of whom being Garreth Frey (played by Jared Harris), a former sith lord who, through his adoration for his Pupil (Yara Jinn), turned to the light after rejecting the sith teachings, and in the years before the end of the jedi order traveled the galaxy with her and sought a deeper understanding of the nuances of the force that he had been barred from learning (since he was brought up by his father to overcome Lord Sideous, he never had a chance to answer such questions). Eventually he finds himself back on Tatooine to reconnect with his former pupil, who by pure happenstance ran into and, subsequently, fell in love with former jedi general Obi-Wan Kenobi, with whom she also shares a deep connection through his master and her father, Qui-gon. Though he has built up many connections to insurgent anti-empire factions over the years, including Luthen Rael (with whom he has had a close relationship with for many years), and Saw Gerrera, and eventually becomes a key player in the formation and sustainment of the rebel alliance.
On this note, Yara and Obi-wan have a son while on Tatooine, whom they name Waylen Kenobi (played by Lucas Jade Zumann), and from a very early age displayed a strong connection with the force, but due to his parentās fear of discovery, did not foster his abilities much. While Yara travelled the galaxy, sowing the seeds of rebellion (notably serving as a āmasterā of sorts to Princess Leia, and a reformed Reva Sevander), Waylen stayed at home on Tatooine and was raised mostly by Obi-Wan, until his father and mother both agreed that it was too dangerous to stay on Tatooine, and that Waylen would be safer with his mother at the rebel base on Yavin 4 (which he had been begging his parents to see since he was a child). This was only weeks before Obi-Wan died on the first death star, and his fatherās death devastated Waylen and his mother.
