im glad you mentioned things like the netflix categories man as they really fuck me off too. non-heterosexual sexualities aren't a "niche interest" or some kind of specialised viewing, it's like ppl who don't identify as straight r being devalued ):

the only words i would utter to the me of ten years ago are that your softness will be the making of you. don’t let others craft and mold you into shapes that fit the vast gaping holes in their chest and when the manipulators sew the strings into your skin of clay know that you are allowed to rebuild yourself too. you are young and everything that you see can be yours for the taking.  and when words become too much and you feel the fires of the kiln hardening your heart and your flesh is no longer smooth to the touch, think of the fire woven into your head and how it dances like wild grass in the twilight breeze of the city suburbs, which you will grow to miss like you will come to miss the sea and the company of those who crave the taste of your salt skin.  all of those cold hearts who froze you solid cannot be saved by the warmth of your words and your wide eyes which hide the skies of tomorrow, where flocks of birds soar across your pupils between each blink and dreams of another you ride upon the back of them. do not apologise for the burns which you inflict for you are holy fire against the darkest of nights and those who love you will see your flames as a beacon and find their way home

this is fantastic

1. why write: It’s the only place in my head that’s quiet enough to breathe and loud enough to break things.

2. aesthetic: Floral prints and winged eyeliner.

3. the process: Waking up at 2AM to vomit up poetry and then going back to sleep.

4. the moment right now: warm and full of anticipation.

5. shortcomings: I will love until my hands are bloody and carry on loving even after that.
