Ok lets break this down

1. Flynn is no Penders. This comparison is asinine and hyperbolic.

Ummm... I’m not sure what you meant by this.

I never said he was Penders nor do I think he is as bad as Penders, but comparing these 2 is like comparing a D grade to an F.

Yes a D is better, but its still failing.

2. The comics needed crap like unnecessary shipping and out-of-character drama toned down.

Ignoring that he still did that in the beginning of his run, just because he’s not making stupid decisions like his predecessor doesn’t mean his decisions are great.

3. This is Sonic, not Shakespeare. Simple characters with simple stories with simple plots work best.

First off, what is with this whole idea that my standards are too high?Seriously, I watch this unironically.

Secondly, my problem is not that the stories are simple, my problem is that the Flynn doesn’t know what he is doing. He treats the characters like tools to only do anything to more the plot forward. A plot that is so scattered and choppy, every event comes off cheap, like it only happens because this is what the writer wanted to happen, not because it fits anything about the topic or narrative.

4. In his video games, Mario has done well with the barest minimum of story development. Even in the RPGs, things are kept clean, simple, and straightforward and it has served that franchise well and Sonic could learn from them.

Just because something works in a game, doesn’t mean it works well in a comic. Especially a comic that is trying to be story driven.

Besides, one of Flynn’s weaknesses is the fact he is boring. Unless he is mandated, he never comes up with any interesting or compelling fantasy ideas. 

Does The Origin count?

I just finished the 12th and last book, and I think I enjoyed it more than First Gundam’s original telling. A Baoa Qu was handled a bit better, I think. The art is beautiful too, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko did a really wonderful job with both the story and art.

I was active in BoL on my mage for about a year and I cannot fucking express to you how often they have to deal with assholes thinking they can just shit on the guild, which is nothing more than a harmless source of entertainment for a group of good people, just because those assholes don't agree with the kind of pretend that is being played.

It's like every other fucking day.

They are not required to be nice to people who take issue with their form of entertainment. It frustrates me and amazes me that Vesp continues to be civil on the forums when his brainbaby is attacked pretty much weekly there, and honestly I don't know how he deals with all the hate.

The detractors that have an issue with the roleplay are flat out fucking morons. End message. They're idiots, and it's idiots all the goddamned way down.
