garbage doll post release updates
garbage doll! it has been released for a week and we've got some plays and we're very happy. here it is if you would like to play our empty spaces visual novel with drawings by my head mate llo
we finally updated the art for the first chapter of the game, which we drew before we did most of the writing. the scene that takes place in the dumpster was pretty but extremely basic and perhaps not evocative enough of being trapped in a dumpster.
now we start by showing the dumpster from the outside.
and on the inside of the dumpster you can see actual bags of trash and, importantly, a miserable little garbage doll.
also, though it's not part of the first chapter, we get to see this character (and her dog) as a fumo (and its plushie)
also more scenes of characters cuddling, though you'll have to play the game to see those.
we've heard some feedback that our content warnings were a bit heavy handed, that the game itself is more lighthearted than the content warnings imply. so we retract some of our fuss about content warnings and dead dove content. the list is still available in the description of the game on the itch page, and in the about section of the game itself. but i'd like to clarify that within the game, while triggering elements are present, they are not leaned that hard into.
there's also now a list of some of our favorite empty spaces writers on the game page! hope we haven't left out anyone important to us. <3
