Game updates and issues
Well, I at least went through and fixed a few graphical errors in the actual game file that will probably bother people that I left them in the actual game (sorry; it's kind of hard to remember to go through and fix every problem and non-game breaking graphic glitches just don't seem that important)
I also found out that my evented chase-thing doesn't really work in the context that I'd like it to, so I added an event senor script (I may go back through and update the two guards to use it as well, but for right now they're just running with the event system. It has a few bugs, though, so I'll probably change it out if it keeps annoying me)
I also don't have quite as many different faces as I'd like for the main characters. I'll probably either take some of my upcoming free time (thank god college is ending) to try drawing them out myself (which would add the bonus of more pictures available in-game) or I'll see if I can get somebody I can outsource to. (though, it'd really be easier to do it myself... even though I don't really have that much practice drawing)
I've been debating adding in voiced lines as well, but I don't really want to go that far... That would really take outsourcing and though I do feel like I could try a few myself,I'm probably not in the best condition to voice anything right now (I'm either getting over a cold or have allergies, which is weird because I do take allergy medicine; both spray and pill)
Other than that, the story and rest of the game is slowly coming together nicely (though it is shaping up to be much longer of a game than I initially thought it would be... not that I mind, I like these characters and love working on any project that I can with them in it)Β
So, may have taken a little too much on at once...
So remember that screenshot of a map from a project I put up just a few days ago?
Well... I kind of started working on another project as well. Since RPG mechanics do take a lot of tinkering to get right (dang balancing issues with almost everything...) I thought I'd try throwing together a (hopefully) semi-short puzzler/paranormal (possibly horror/thriller... genres are really hard to define sometimes... especially when most of the idea is still just a concept) It'll be using characters I write with a lot and know fairly well, and be branching off and exploring a universe I've sort of created (... well... possibly two... it depends on how I feel... I may make a more upbeat fantasy one if I finish the one I'm working on and feel like it's worth it)
