it was really good in the beginning. a fresh twist on the 'isekai into a game world' trope. however the male lead became a yandere stereotype (so boring) and the later chapters are extremely messy plot-wise.
it was a good story but it didn't stay a good story, if you know what I mean. Anyway reading 80 chapters puts it into the yes pile.
so playstation access does a new feature where they kinda talk about games on tuesday and this week they talked about games that let them live out their fantasy. It got me thinking about what game let me live out my fantasy and besides the obvious choice of pokemon or a personal fav of mine legend of zelda: spirit tracks, I’d have to say saints row. this got long so the rest below
In Saints Row, there’s CC, so the first time i played, i made myself and i was an all powerful girl who, like, never lost or didn’t lose often. I could go around in this world and do whatever the hell I wanted, and no one could stop me, not other gangs, certainly not the police. It was very liberating especially since when I was younger, I had anger issues, so if I ever got really upset, I could kinda take my anger out on the world.
Aside from that, I was a main character in a story where I had these incredible people by my side. I mean your character maybe doesn’t seem to trust them in the beginning, but that changes. By the end, you’d lay down your life for Shaundi, Pierce, and Gat. And you get even more new friends in the third game which is a fantasy for me cause I haven’t had best friends since, like, second grade. And me and these awesome friends get to go on even crazier adventures together and its just so fun and liberating and god i love it.
The next time I played it, I made an actual character, and the feeling didn’t go away. I liked being able to have my downtrodden anti-hero end up with all the power and surrounded by these great people. Either way, I was satisfied, so, yeah, I love Saints Row. I’m glad it let me live out a fantasy.
