🌿 What way does your OC show that they care without using words? What way do others show your OC that they’re cared about without using speech?
renata tends to be that “mysterious benefactor” who suddenly donates (x amount of dollars) to someone’s cause when she wants to be supportive. she doesn’t make a show of it, but if someone that she cares about is struggling with something, suddenly that problem is fixed. and if they mention that to her, she’ll say something like “well isn’t that a happy ending?” with either a little smile or just enough fake-ignorance that it’s obvious that she knows exactly how matters were resolved, but she does not want to make a big Thing about it.
others show that they care about her by being obviously and unwaveringly loyal towards her. she has a lot of rivals and enemies (two different things, in her eyes) who would love to undermine her by wooing away “her people” to work against her, but renata’s people are loyal with a capital L. that’s how they show they care: by making it clear whose side they’re on.
🥀 How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry?
i’m not sure if it’s considered “decoration”, but i can see him using a notebook to keep notes on individuals who pose potential threats to him, but in a sort of shorthand that makes sense to him but probably isn’t easy to follow for somebody else. like, if he was making a note of jules keeping hidden knives he’d detail it like:
- barrett: blade/left/down/job- barrett: blade/right/up/hate
to note that on the average job she’d be found to have a knife hidden in her left boot, but in a situation where she was forced to dress up and couldn’t wear boots, she’d have one strapped to her thigh (so, right/left determines which leg, up/down determines where on the leg, “hate” = “has to dress up around rich people so she hates it = already in a bad mood”, etc etc.)
notes on fraser are even more short hand, because he’s a simple guy who is technically on the same side as him, but gambon is cautious enough re: him to suspect that fraser would flip sides if given enough cause (and he’s right), so he would keep notes on him, too.
