Kariya didnât understand. He had done everything right- he was supposed to have summoned a Berserker! So why in Godâs name was there an Assassin standing in its place? Things just seemed to keep going wrong for him. At this point, however, he expected nothing less.
âVery well then,â he said at last. He cleared his throat, straightened himself as best he could- though his left leg gave him trouble. He didnât know the first thing about ordering a Servant around, but it wouldnât kill him to be polite, right? Especially if this guy was willing to fight and kill and die for him!
âItâs... nice to meet you. Assassin. I can only hope that your actions live up to your name.â
@gallowkingâ
To follow such orders blindly, even if it led to defeat...her hands tightened at her side as she looked away from the gruesome scene in front of them. Bodies were unceremoniously scattered across the battleground, limbs twisted in ways that turned her stomach.
He...he did all this. To keep her from harm. His Master safe. And now heâs all but making her face the harsher side of what awaited outside the safety of Chaldeaâs walls. The place she had wanted to leave, to come do battle of her own.Â
It wasnât like she had expected it to have been all honor and glory in the first place. Or to be a thrilling adventure. Of course she had known of the danger, she documented it nearly everyday. It was just that she hadnât expected this much brutality within her first two hours on the âOutsideâ.Â
âI donât...âshe cast a glance to the Assassin, already making himself busy with cleaning his blade. There wasnât a huge amount of blood, thanks to his abilities, but some still clung to the bladeâs edges.  âIf it were me...Iâd at least question it.âÂ
Following orders wasnât really her forte. Always having been in a somewhat high position of power, Luvia couldnât truly comprehend what it actually meant to follow orders without question. She was the one usually giving them. But even so, when it came between them, his feelings were taken into account on all the ones she gave.
â...â
âCan we...move? I canât think properly with,â she tilted her head in the direction of his battle. âall that...distracting me.â

   HMM NOW THAT WAS a most interesting answer. Ozymandias was not sure what he expected to hear, but that was certainly not it. âYou areâŠinteresting.â But that was a given. Sanson was always the kind of person that gave him pause â made him question assumptions he might have made with deeper thought. âI would have thought the opposite. However, you are willing to be respectful while also keeping your God in mindâŠâ He lifted his hand, rubbing his chin as he examined Sanson with usual curious gaze. Although he had many conversations with this man, not once had the Executioner left him feeling bored. On the contrary, even afterwards, he would sometimes sit and think about what they had discussed within the relative quiet of his simulation; allowing it to settle within his mind. What was said next captured his attention once more, his head tilting with intrigue as his own question was turned back on him.
   âAt one time, I would have scoffed at the face of another deity. My gods are supreme because I too am supreme. That was my thought, as well as the thought of other pharaohs as well. Why would we care about the gods of another when we only care for our own? However, a certainâŠevent in my life made me question myself.â He did not need to state what that event was. Sanson knew it well as did everyone who followed that Divine. âEven still, I hold great love for those I pray toâŠbut I am willing to be respectful to others outside of this for as long as they give me reason to. Perhaps I too would even accept their advice if it was offered. After all, who would be foolish enough to ignore one who has lived since time was but mere concept?â
The man the intern was looking at had something about it. Surely, because he was a Servant, there had to be something to him, or else he wouldn't be special enough to become engraved as a Hero. Oh, maybe it was sort of what you would call a stench of death, that permeated her nose once she remembered who he was, some executioner from France.
Yet, she sat by him, believing that maybe she shouldn't feel too bad sitting next to a killer. Discriminating him because of that would be hypocritical after all. âHey.â

there is a weight to death. sanson understands that, and he carries it responsibly. out of all of the little cadre that marie carries around (thatâs what unified you all, really), heâs the most trustworthy. youâre all fully competent adults (barring one... clear exception) and you get the feeling that heâs younger than you are (who knows), but thereâs still something oddly reassuring in his demeanor. a type of reaper where you donât mind going along with what he advises.
(barring his advice -- not spoken so directly, but obvious in the side-eye heâll give -- to eat a more balanced diet, which is something clearly based off of habit and nostalgia for being the living, and thus the sole opinion from sanson you shall count as complete nonsense.)
he fawns over marie and other things he likes, which you find some third-party bemusement in watching. largely because he thinks himself subtle and isnât, and itâs fun in an endearing sort of way to watch sanson do his best. he has a larger heart than you would expect from an executioner -- who gave him that job? but he is, really, a kind death.
(itâs a little funny how marie willingly surrounds herself with people whose duty it is to kill and yet remains unsullied by it herself. you, too -- though sanson fits better at her side.) you do wish the best for him, in a general sense.
his toneâs a light mint, most of the time, general wintergreen only not so overpowering. the same as chewing on a mint leaf. incidentally, taste of a plant used to ease anxiety and help rest. that kind of thing fits sanson, itâs what he would want, though thereâs not really a coherent offhand way to say âyour voice tastes like mint, and thatâs fitting of you,â and have it come across as an actual compliment.Â
@gallowkingâ -- Cont!
"I believe it is, but I do not remember where I read it from. I was unaware that you did! I hope to read some, if you allow me. Not now, of course-! When you are comfortable sharing." It'd be rude to ask to see it at this moment, but now she's curious! Poetry, and literature in general, were always a favorite subject to discuss. A smile comes to face more, especially with the return wave. ( And here, she thought, he would be scary. Goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover! Or it could just be that strange ice breaker. )
"Hm..." She moves her hands behind her back in thought. "There could be a multitude of ways. You have the appearance of snow, but not because you are cold. Because you look to be someone who needs time to warm up to people. I would also say that you are like a meadow, with vibrant fields." She'll let him have fun guessing what that one is about. It relates to the starlight metaphor, and the snow. How something can appear to be one thing, but is another. "Those are the two that currently come to mind. I would need some more time to put together a list. I am not proficient in wordsmithing, either. I apologize for the rambling." One hand moves back to her side. The other comes to rub the back of her head.
