Scenario 1: No Honmoon, Just their Physical Stats and Nichirin Blades
So without their Honmoon, a lot of their abilities in fighting Demons are weakened greatly. But the Honmoon is more of an Amplifier using the resonance of souls to amp the hunter's power which than creates a barrier to push back demons. Now in the World of Demon slayer, Demons are more... Biologically made, made by Muzan and his cells that turn people into demons. In a way, they are more like vampires, with werewolf tendencies. Regardless, how well do the Huntrix girls handle being in a world without Honmoon? That means they gotta carry their weapons and cant just summon them. But outside of that weakness, the girls are surprisingly holding their own quite well.
Rumi, Zoey and Mira are all superhuman level without the need of the Honmoon thanks to their training.
Their greatest feats are actually in the opening song.
Faster than the Eye movements, lightning fast reaction speed, singing pretty much the ENTIRE time they are fighting (only to stop to eat their noodles, which they scarfed down instantly) They caved a demon INTO a chair using a metal Kettle, which made hot water for them (which was able to cook their noodles) as they just got it from the sink. Which means they can HEAT UP metal with their natural abilities, much like Red nichirin blades!
But their greatest feat happened to be their sky diving without a parachute feat.
Time for some math!
The typical cruising altitude for jets ranges from 31,000 feet to 50,000. (40,000) being the middle ground and seen as optimal.
We know the demons wanted to stop them from going to the concert, so they likely were not even pretending to descend. And we know that after the demons escaped they TRASHED the plane. (the change in pressure would be enough to cause MASSIVE instability, yet the girls were able to not only eat their noodles, but also had enough time to casually jump out the jet. (proving their supernatural durability already.)
For a person to reach Terminal velocity, it takes falling about 1,500 feet. That speed is (while variable due to weight and surface area), for the sake of simplicity we will say, 200 MPH. to a human thats basically experiencing 5Gs of force (5x their body weight). Which they CASUALLY handled and applied MAKE UP during.
The girls fell for about 33 seconds, (and landed with not just no damage, they were standing and were able to minimize the impact of the demons so as to NOT hurt their fans.
But lets actually calculate it. For a good middle ground, 40,000 ft/33 is Equal to 1212.12 Fps (Feet per second)
so multiply that by 60, we get 72727.27 feet per minute which we can convert into miles = 13.77 miles per minute which we than muliply by 60 to get 826.2 Miles per hour which is just over MACH 1.
But that's the average time of their descent. We can infer they were NOT going that fast the entire time, but controlled their descent by speeding up and slowing down.
Based on the time they fixed up their make up and hair, (20 seconds) The rest of the time was speeding up their descent. (13 seconds)
So we can break it down EVEN FURTHER
As mentioned, Terminal velocity is around 200 mph. And the girls were handling their Make up, which is 293.333 Fps (Feet per second)
We can calculate that they fell 5866.66 feet in 20 seconds. The rest of their descent was spent moving fast enough (and controlling) where they landed.
And if we are going by that 40,000 feet cruising altitude. Huntrix traveled 34133.34 ft in 13 seconds.
Which we can determine is 2625.642 FPS which with conversions would be 1790.210 Miles per hour or Mach 2.33
Which we actually CAN prove because when they were arriving at the stadium we see the demons drop in with MACH waves, which demonstrate ABOVE speed of sound speeds.
This puts the Huntrix team well above the Supersonic tier of speed.
We should also take into account that this was near EFFORTLESS for the girls, which means they can likely move much faster if the need arises. We also see them have potential light speed reaction during the final fight with Gwi ma (Though considering that was with the Honmoon boost, I think we can actually hold off on saying this until later)
Which puts them in the Higher tier of Demon slayers Arguably Hashira level speeds.
As for Physical strength and Durability. We know that a demon slayer must be stronger than a typical human, and we have seen Tanjiro at the beginning of the series cut a boulder in half (through intense training). demon slayers have even been hit through walls, rocks, and were able to get back up with only some damage.
The huntrix girls have much greater levels of durability, as well as great lung capacity. fighting demons constantly (even a hoard while on a moving train)
Just by their physical stats alone, I would say they are comparable to Slayer Marked Hashira. In some cases, I would even say SURPASSING. in terms of physical stats.
But now we get into the nitty gritty. Demons in the Demon slayer universe have unique Blood Demon arts. Some ranging from moderately inconvenient, to UNFAIR BULLS***.
With the teamwork the girls shown. I can actually see them being able to handle Lower moons with mid to low difficulty. Its when we get to the Upper moons that the question of how they will handle.
Lets start with the weakest upper moon
Kaigaku
Basically an Upper moon solely because they needed to fill out the ranks. He is decently strong and his Demon art allows him to create REAL lightning with his Lightning Breathing.
I think this is where Huntrix would initially struggle... until they got serious and then beheaded him.
If this was a one on one, I would say Zoey or Mira might not be able to handle him. Rumi with her half demon side (and if we take how accepting she was at the end) she can teleport and has powerful shouts. Which I think would make her an even match for Kaigaku.
Though It should be noted its not the lightning that is the difficult part, its his skill with a blade. Huntrix are not used to dealing with Skilled demons. They can handle Hordes of them, and are incredibly talented fighters with demon slayer training (in their world) , but dealing with someone with this level of sword skill AND lightning powers would be difficult for them without their Honmoon powers.
Next I would compare them to the former upper 6. Gyutaro and Daki
Now this one is where things get interesting. If it was just Daki. I think Huntrix could handle this without much issue. Its because Gyutaro is there that makes this fight so difficult, his poisons and deadly attacks make him such a threat. I can imagine that this would be hard fought, but what helps is they arent dealing with a weapon master here, just strong demons with weird powers.
The girls team work is a lot better than Gyutaro and Daki's because Gyutaro NERFS himself to help Daki. While this one his hard fought, I would give it to Huntrix. So Huntrix with High Diff.
Then we get to Gyokko
This is where I see the girls might stop.
Sure the physical stats are there, but Gyokko is the start of... the demon powers are bulls***. If he traps them or uses fish transmutation... its over
Though we do know he can be outsped AND overpowered.
With the strength, speed and Team work of the girls. I do believe that they can pull off a very NARROW win. so Extreme diff, Huntrix takes it
Then we get to former Upper rank 4. Hantengu
Im not gonna sugar coat it. Hantengu's powers are bulls***. He's killing Huntrix without their Honmoon powers and weapons.
Though it isnt until he gets into his final form. Without knowing how to kill him, or their boosts from the honmoon, the girls cant compete with a super powered wood dragon summoner with elemental powers that was too much for every other swords man, if it wasnt for Tanjiro giving LITERALLY everything to win and find him, that Swordsmith village would be dead.
So with that, just physical stats, their training, and team work. I do think Huntrix would make incredibly decent demon slayers, but if they want to do better, they would need a form of breathing style (sound breathing most likely.) i am sure Tengen would LOVE to train then, since they are so FLASHY.
Scenario 2: With Honmoon (but it doesnt kill demons)
Now this doesnt help with killing demon directly... BUT it does help give the girls the power boost. Which with the boost we know their stats increase dramatically, Rumi and the girls with their powers combined OVERPOWERED Gwi Ma, and the power increased their speed, strength and durability.
With that level of boost, I would say that the girls would be strong enough to kill Hatengu
Which I will skip the current Upper moon four, as she would just be tedious but also a non-issue because Rumi can teleport and her ability wouldnt work on her.
so we go to UPPER MOON 3 Akaza
And he doesnt fight women. So they win by default.
NEXT
Upper Rank 2 Doma
Yea, so remember how I said the girls needed that speed to be hashira level? Well Doma's speed is even MORE INSANE. And the honmoon wont have any effect on him, which really limits the girls abilities. Doma also is very analytical and with his ice powers, the girls would REALLY need to work hard to beat him.
So the question is, could the Honmoon buffed girls be fast enough to kill Doma before he freezes them?
With Rumi's demon teleportation and Doma's love of messing with people despite his analytical approach... I would give it to the girls, but its hard fought. I am going High Diff to extreme Diff.
Now we get to Upper Moon 1
Kokushibo
... No
Kokushibo is without a doubt not gonna be beaten even with the Honmoon boost. His abilities, skills, experience in combat ALL surpass the girls even with the Honmoon boost. The only reason Kokushibo even lost is STILL debated to this day. so I am going to say, the Honmoon boost alone is not going to bring this Upper moon down. Sorry Ladies. You would put up a decent fight, but power alone wont help.
Scenario 3: With Honmoon and it IS effective against Demon slayer demons.
So we are back to rank 1.
Kokushibo, but now with the effectiveness of their weapons and the Honmoon working against him. Thats where the shift happens. because there is no special resistance thats granted against Honmoon, while in the case of Demonslayer, decapitation, and poisons to demons can be resisted, even being able to resist the SUN.
This is still a VERY hard fought match, but with the Honmoon's effect on demons, their weapons without Nichirin swords being effective on demons, AND the boost in stats. This no win possible turns into a very tight win for the girls. And this is extreme, but without the need of the full power Honmoon.
Now we get to Upper moon zero, or Demon king Muzan
It should be noted that Muzan, is on a level even higher than Kokushibo.
His speed, power, strength. All that we do find out about... it should be noted in his FINAL battle, he was WEAKENED IMMENSELY.
Our girls are fighting a FULL power Muzan.
And it really comes down to the question.
Can the full power Honmoon be enough to defeat Muzan.
I think our best bet is to Scale to Gwi ma
Who, we know had the power to absorb souls, and while free he covered the entire area in Darkness.
When hit with the final attack of the Honmoon this entire area, was restored to how it was
Now if the Honmoon is an effective slaying tool, and with the dispersion, we can estimate that Gwi-ma must have AT LEAST covered all of South Korea.
which the area of SK is 38,691 mi²
By comparing Gwi-ma's power to that of a cloud. the amount of energy needed to disperse him is around (3.125\times 10^{16}\text{\ J}\) or 7.5 MEGA TONS OF TNT. This is a MASSIVE low ball, as Gwi-ma was likely more than just a dark cloud of power, but I think its
Now I think we can actually compare this with the explosion Muzan Survived
As it was an explosion in which a BUNCH of demon killing metal was included to make it effective.
In contrast, the power needed for that explosion isnt even a FRACTION of the power needed to disperse Gwi-ma.
And we know Muzan, needed to regenerate from the explosion.
So if the Honmoon was effective in sending Demons to hell, And the burst of power could disprese Gwi-ma in his entirety. Than, Muzan, even at his Full power doesnt stand a chance.
So while it would be overkill. In order for them to beat Muzan, Huntrix would need the Full Power Honmoon, or else they are getting killed brutally.
So TL:DR
Huntrix would probably be Hashira level, and without the Honmoon, they would stop at upper moon 4. With the Honmoon, they stop at upper moon 1, and with Full boost and effectiveness against demons, Huntrix could clear beating Muzan.
Gale's Analysis: To be Hero X. Perception is Reality
To be hero X is a new show on Crunchyroll and I have been swept up into the intriguing plot.
A world where hero's powers come from the Trust the public has in them. The main character, Lin Ling finds himself going from a nobody who was ready to walk off a building, to replacing the famous and loved hero, Nice.
Nice is the poster boy of perfection and a rising star in the Hero world, but after he decided to nose dive off a building, he needed to be replaced for the sake of NOT having a scandal.
Lin Ling now must be as perfect as Nice is perceived to be.
And it is during this that Lin realized that he has become the hero he so desperately wanted to be.
Miss J, (the woman that basically made him the replacement) points out how he is now Nice, and that it doesnt matter what happened to the previous one, as to the rest of the world, Nice is still here. He is Nice. He even notices that some of his personality started to change as he took on Nice's persona, from the way he speaks and even his habits like being more of a neat freak. Because thats how the Public perceives nice.
It reflects how our culture often will lie and manipulate things in order to make a more palatable story to the masses. The power comes from the people, as is true with all things, if one doesnt have the support, they will never succeed. And if people dont believe something to be true, than it wont be.
What the masses perceive is what is agreed upon as true. Even if it is not the truth, what is decided upon as the consensus is seen as what is true. Thus, Perception IS Reality.
This is seen especially in Episode 2, Where Moon explained how her powers work. Because of the fans wanting her and Nice to be together, her powers to warp will only warp to bring her to him, no matter how much SHE doesn't want to. It also shows when Wreck, who was Nice's actual best friend IRL, but arch enemy in perception, realizes the truth and knows Lin Ling isnt nice but it doesnt change anything as the people still think Lin Ling is the true Nice. What the people close to him though meant nothing compared to the masses.
But back to Moon, It is only when the fans think she died, and Nice (lin ling) convinced the fans to pray and hope for her freedom, did her warp gun allow her to warp to a place she actually wanted to go.
The world of To be hero X is shaped by what the people perceive as true. Thus bringing forth, Perception as Reality.
Now the funny thing though, is that a Lie may be perceived as true for a while, but the Truth always comes out. So the question is, How will Lin Ling react when the truth about Nice comes out?
Gale's Analysis: 5 things the movie did better and Vice Versa: Miraculous version.
So for this little post I will be writing things I would list that the Miraculous Movie did better for me than the show did and vice versa.
I think both medias have flaws but both also give us something great and I think both should be appreciated.
Rules:
I wont be mentioning ANYTHING asthetic (Thats a budget thing and I wont penalize the show for not having the budget the movie does) These are purely writing choices and scene inclusions.
2. These choices doesnt always mean that the show or Movie handled something badly, it just means I prefer how they were handled. by the Respective media.
3. I will only be including things that are covered in both the film and movie.
4. I would love to hear what you guys preferred and your opinions
I will start off with the Movie and alternate.
(Spoilers if you havent seen the movie or the season 5 finale of the show)
5. Movie: Using Criminals as Akumatized villains
Its such a simple idea, as the Akuma often use the negative emotions of the individuals, and thats what I loved about the movie. Of course if the logic is the more negative the emotions the more powerful, why not recruit the people who let their lives get ruined by their negative impulses.
It ups the danger factor and allows for more cartoonish violence. They get defeated and then get sent to jail. Maybe it makes Akuma seem simpler, but I like it and it results in a villain song that slaps.
5. Show: The way the Heroes were chosen
While on one hand I enjoyed the Kwami picking their chosen in the movie. I actually like how Fu tested the ones in Origins. Both Marinette and Adrien demonstrated their kind hearted and caring natures before getting the miraculous. In the movie we do see Marinette save Fu though unrelated to being chosen, which was great but we dont see Adrien ever do that before becoming Chat noir. And I feel that loses something in the process.
4. Movie: Powers: Stronger together (Not just the song)
The cat and Ladybug miraculous get more powerful when used together. That is something I have wanted since the beginning of the series. It lets both miraculous stand out from the other miraculous and shows why having these two together is such a big deal. This movie does drill it into the viewers head, but its such a cool concept and it is something I wish was in the show.
4. Show: Powers: Lucky Charm
I miss when Ladybug summons an object to help defeat the villain. i know in the movie they go a bit different with how the powers work, but I miss the random items that would then be utilized in order to help them best the bad guys. Marinette is still her clever self when she wants to be in the movie... but it isnt as clear and would have elevated the movie.
3. Movie: Tikki
I think Tikki f***ing kills it in this movie. Her energy, curiosity, her flair. HER RAP! Tikki is exactly what I picture when I see a Kwami of Creation. She was perfect for getting Marinette's butt in gear and being the instigator. She is Marinette's Motivator not her conscience. Tikki has been doing this for Eons and she knows what to do.
3. Show: Plagg
By a MASSIVE Margin, Plagg is much better portrayed in the show. His bond with Adrien is much more pronounced, his personality isnt reduced to being lazy and making Fart jokes. Plagg in the movie does give advice, but Show Plagg has a much more innate care for Adrien even early on. Plagg's bond with Adrien in the show is one of the best things about it.
2. Movie: Ladynoir
Oh I can hear a TON of anger forming from seeing this on my list. But let me explain. I like the fact that they didnt get along right away and grew to like eachother. In the show it makes sense to have them more in sync off the jump, but in the movie it shows how their powers are LINKED to them being closer. So the development is great. And while the show has the appeal of the lovesquare and identities being a secret. The Movie doesnt have that limitation, they are doing the secret identities for their own benefit. Chat noir gets to be more open with Ladybug. And Stronger together as a duet f***ing slaps. Now in the show there are some ladynoir moments that are amazing "Us against the world." Fantastic. And i would argue the show has highs the movies never reached, BUT The problem is though, in the show, that basically gets tossed to the side so often its hard to appreciate it and the lows are more present. In the movie, it is able to keep that basis steady. Plus this movie was made for Ladynoir, lets face it.
2. Show: Marinette and Adrien (As Characters)
I think it is obvious to say that the show has a lot more time to flesh out Marinette and Adrien. Now I do enjoy their movie incarnations, but seeing How Marinette developed her confidence overtime and her reasons for being how she is, as well as Adrien wanting more love and acceptance. The movie never really gets to show how kind and caring both of them are. Something the show gets to demonstrate. Though the flaws are there, it is a deeper ocean to explore. Movie Marinette and Movie Adrien are wonderful, but when it comes to the core, the originals shine brighter.
1. Show: Adrinette (As well as Ladrien and Marichat)
Yes I am swapping back to the show before the movie. I dont care its my list. Adrien and Marinette are f***ing adorable. The umbrella scene is still one of my favorite moments in the series, and seeing how the two fall in love is wonderful. Its a slow burn and its usually pretty damn good. Granted the love rival bump was stupid, but hey not everything is perfect. Also the Ladrien (while not much as much as the other sides) exists in the show and gets a lot of mileage. And Marichat, do I even have to explain? Most of you marichat stans are still watching Elation. The show handles the core aspect that the viewers WANT to see. The slow burn romance. That is where its at. And while the movie does show Adrien and Marinette having some cute encounters, some stuff was cut and it just cant hold a candle to the adrinette in the show.
Its the beauty and love that has me still holding onto the show... no matter the writing choices it has taken. And trust me when I say MY LOVE for the lovesquare has been tested more than Heracles.
1. Movie: Gabriel Agreste
If someone told me I would ever have sympathy for Gabriel Agreste. I would looked them in the eyes and LAUGHED at them. But somehow this movie did what the show failed to do. They turned this neglectful asshole into my favorite part of the movie. The movie makes me understand WHY he is so absent with Adrien, yet still show how much he loves his son. He is a widower lost in grief filled with Survivor's guilt. He is so lost and desperate to bring her back that he was willing to sacrifice his own heart to get her back... but then, he sees his son, damaged by his own hands. He sees the monster he became and it broke him. He fell down and realized he had done something inexcusable in his mind. He let his loss hurt his little boy.
The movie doesnt get as much time as the show to flesh out Gabriel, but sweet kwami does the movie show more than enough. We see his intial reluctance, we see his grief win over and then his obsession and hatred growing. We see him get disheveled and at the brink yet still checking on his son. We see him realize how far gone he is and just let the darkness take control, and finally we see the revelation! Him waking up to the truth, what he did to his son. He breaks down, he confesses. THIS is a Gabriel that you understand how he fell. This Gabriel was shown to the Audience. But you know what the best part is? He isnt shown as a hero, Paris knows he became a villain. He does get to hug his son and apologize, but he acknowledges his wrongs.
The show did have a chance to do that (I would say season 2 was their best bet) But sadly they tossed that out and the ending of the Agreste arc (as far as we know because everyone says its not the end. But its the end.) Was not what I call good.
So when it comes down to it, Gabriel Agreste became the Villain once dreamed he would be in this movie.
Gale's Analysis: Why Gabriel Agreste is the best parent in Miraculous Ladybug
Now the candy cane man has been getting ribbed on the internet since season one. Many people are convinced he is such an awful and unsympathetic individual that they believe jail or even death is a punishment that is too merciful. I know this because I was once one of the people that believed that.
But after doing an extensive deep dive into the series I can say that not only is Gabriel Agreste a fascinating character he is the following:
Sympathetic Antagonist done right
A Genius in Fashion and Scheming
A Loving Father and Husband
The Real hero of the series
These are bold claims I understand but I will be going into detail down below.
(Fair warning, I will be discussing up to the current Season 5 episodes that have aired and if you are not caught up yet, I recommend coming back to this post.)

Gale's Analysis: Ron Stoppable is the Epitome of Secret Badass
Ron Stoppable, The buffoon, the sidekick, the loser, the guy with a naked mole rat.
Suffice to say, Ron at first impression is just a weird teen. And for those that have made that assumption, you are right. Ron is weird. He follows the beat of his own drum. Yes he can get swayed by fads, yes he is afraid of monkeys and yes he is often losing his pants more times than a person should.
But today I will be talking to you about why this guy is not only a secret badass but the best example of one.
_________________________________________________
To be a Secret Badass.
Now there is a trope called Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass, this trope often involves an unassuming character (usually seen as a joke or weakling) and then revealing that they are actually super powerful, competent in some way shape or form.
Now I actually dont think this works for Ron because, with this trope, the individual KNOWS what they are doing is a front. That unassuming action is mainly something they put out there while the true self is the competent individual who is either Super smart, super strong, or super skilled.
But here is the thing, Ron isnt putting up a front, this is his personality. He is a bit of a slacker, doesnt follow trends, is obsessed with cartoons, goes trick or treating, gets caught up in kid stuff, everything Ron does is because he is Ron.
But thats why I think he counts as a Secret Badass, because Ron isnt Hiding the fact that he is a badass, he has NO IDEA HE IS ONE. He just performs the actions by accident or instinct without it really having it sink in.
Now to go further into what I mean. Ron thinks he is an untalented slacker idiot, a coward that struggles with girls, and a guy that cant fight or be the cool athlete.
But in truth Ron is actually a genius, athletic, smooth fighting badass.
Yes, I am being 100% serious. Ron is all of those things
Now throughout the show Ron doesnt really make much of an effort to do his homework. usually settling for a passing grade. While Kim, his best friend and the star of the show is constantly getting A's and showing her intelligence on the regular. At first glance it is very hard to see oneself think that Ron is smart, ESPECIALLY compared to the intellect of others in the show, Like Wade, Tim and Jim,Dr.Possible (Both her parents), the super scientists they have helped or fought. But Ron is actually pretty smart.
Ron's intellect shines when he takes an interest in something. Like cooking, able to easily ace Home Economics, create the Naco (Ron received a $99 million royalty payment on the further sales of the Naco up to that point in time "Ron Millionaire" ) A testament to his cooking genius. Figure out Niche connections that Kim had overlooked.
Ron's most impressive intellectual feet was actually when he was pretending to be a genius (Naked Genius). Rufus had snuck into Drakken's brain gain helmet and became super smart. So Ron had Rufus do his home work, and the result was having people shocked by how brilliant he is. Resulting in Shego and Drakken kidnapping him to make a doomsday device. Which he actually manages to create!
And after that, he was able to complete his math homework with ease, even earning an A on the next assignment.
But for those of you who think thats a fluke. Allow me to introduce, evil ron
After getting his good swapped with Drakken's evil due to a faulty invention gone wrong at Villain con (Episode Badboy). Ron becomes a super villain. Able to create SEVERAL evil weapons of destruction. Creating schemes to COUNTER Kim's approaching his Lair and even stall Kim for long periods of time to prepare for his True evil plan. He created a plasma catapult, a weather generator, and several gadgets that helped him keep Shego in line. (He was so smart and evil he MADE SHEGO INTIMIDATED).
Ron is often inhibited by his self doubt and laziness. Often feeling that the world around him is so vast that it is not worth the effort to try, but when push comes to shove, Ron is smart enough to rival intellects that surround him. He just needs to have a bit more confidence.
Ron is typically portrayed as clumsy and lacking in bravery. He tends to "trip over his own feet" in most episodes, often in comical or socially embarrassing ways, and during missions it is common for him to comically fail to do something that Kim has done flawlessly—for example, he might ski backward down a mountain and collide with a tree just after Kim has successfully navigated the slope. He also loses his pants often on missions.
But in truth, we as the viewer fail to realize how impressive Ron is. Sure he will accidentally do some insane feat in extreme sports but its seen as a fluke. But we dont actually understand how athletic Ron is until the movie "A Sitch in Time". Where Ron is half way around the world and has trouble meeting Kim for Missions. So Kim's solution, have Monique help her out. And Monique is a pretty typical teen, seems decently in shape, and strong willed. It would make sense that she could be a possible replacement.
WELL THAT IMMEDIATELY BACK FIRES. Its revealed that Monique is WAY OUT of her depth, she comments that maybe after 10 years of training would she be ready to take on another mission like this. Which really puts into perspective how impressive it is that Ron is able to keep up with Kim in most situations. Ignoring the comedic relief.
But another clear example of his athleticism is his ability to run. While initially using a super suit to make the football team and become the QB, (in season 4). Ron eventually lost the suit and had to play the game with his own skill, and he won the game by Running so much he out ran everyone on the opposite team to the point of exhaustion and scored a touch down. Becoming the team’s Running back instead. While played for laughs as this was because he is so used to running for his life, it is still should be noted that he ran fast, and dealt with very athletic individuals.
He also is shown to have incredible reflexes, avoiding traps and danger through dance and rather amazing feats of physical prowess. (And this is without mystical monkey power)
There is more to it but Ron is a surprisingly good athlete, and probably one of the few people that could keep up with Kim. Making him such a reliable side kick.
But in all seriousness, Ron's luck with girls is actually not that bad. He had girls take interest in him through out the series. His first crush being Amelia (an attractive upper classman that developed a thing for him when he got a new haircut “The New Ron”. And flirted with her with some success in "Ron Millionaire"
Then there was Tara, a Cheerleader that showed Ron interest for sometime. Such as in "Sink or Swim" when the cheersquad was trapped in Camp Wanaweep
Even using terms he used at times. like "Badical"
Though Ron never did catch on that She was into him and she ended up dating Josh who was Kim's former lover interest.
Next there was Zita Flores
The ticket girl at the theater Kim and Ron often went to. And was Ron's love interest for most of season 2. Ron managed to win her over and even dated her for a bit, tried to impress her by playing a game that she and her friends played. But unfortunately it sort of fizzled because they both didnt really agree on what was considered a date.
And next up we have Yori
(I had a crush on Yori as a kid, so I am including her image solely for that)
Meeting Ron when he was part of the student exchange program, for the Yamanouchi Ninja School. n the episode "Exchange", Ron shows repeated interest in Yori. He was having trouble fitting in yet she was kind and helped him out every step of the way. Ron proves himself when he helps save the school and Yori believes in his abilities. Though Ron like with other girls failed to see that Yori "Liked him liked him" until their second meeting.
Though the third time they met Ron and Kim were and Item and Yori was cool with it. Which is nice to see they are gone good terms
Bonnie was on the list but it wasnt because of liking Ron it was more about liking either his Money (Ron Millionaire) or His popularity in "Homecoming Upset"
But interestingly most of these relationships, Ron is not trying to be someone he isnt (except Bonnie). And he is winning these girls over. Showing he has some sort of charisma. But for main proof, lets look at the main Relationship we are here for, his one with Kim.
This right here is proof that the boy has some sort of charm. Sure they had been friends for years and it had been slowly building up to the point when they FINALLY admit it. Sure the guy that Kim Fell for in So the Drama was basically just a calmer and more Confident version of Ron but actually an evil robot.
But the beauty is the relationship itself. Ron goes to such lengths to show Kim how much he cares and is willing to do anything for her. Fearing she would dump him because its senior year and Cheerleaders only date jocks/Popular stars. Boy joins the football team. Kim wants to go on more romantic dates, boy gets a job to pay for it. Ron also shows to be encouraging and while a bit of a worrywart is great for Kim.
So in conclusion Ron can be smooth... in his nerdy true to himself way
During the Season 1 episode "Monkey Fist Strikes", Ron was exposed to ancient magical energy from four jade monkey statues which imbued him with "Mystical Monkey Powers", including an instinctive knowledge of the martial art of "Tai Sheng Pek Kwar" (大圣劈挂, translates to "The big saint divides hangs") as well as superhuman speed and strength. Though after the episode its believed to have been lost.
Until the Episode "Exchange" in which has him at the Ninja school. He gets some training. Allowing him to learn how to fight better. Even letting him tap into the martial art he thought he lost access to. He was able to wield the Lotus Blade and Beat Fukushima (a talented student and traitor of the school)
Ron may not always fight in the show but when he does, he unveils his true ability. One example is during the Movie a sitch in time. When he found out Shego had basically ruined Bueno Nacho and seperated Kim and Him by sending him to norway. In his rage he flipped an incredibly buff and genetically enhanced Drakken with one move and destroyed the Time monkey, thus saving the world.
Ron also showed that when turned evil he is actually a very vicious fighter (his reluctance and more timid nature removed) he easily bested well over 30 super hero clones in seconds, and was agile enough to out match a super strong Hego.
Ron in the finale "Graduation" shows his greatest feats of fighting, besting the super strong alien invaders (see picture above), then proceeding to go super saiyan blue.
And he threw the two aliens into orbit into their crashing space ship presumably ending them. (I am not kidding its right here)
Ron is an absolute fighting badass, only held back by his self esteem. But at this point, I think he really is unstoppable
All that aside, sure there is the monkey kung fu, the bouts of brilliance or even the impressive game. Ron was basically a normal guy flung into a world of crazy super powerful people and because he wanted to keep close to his best friend managed to climb insurmountable odds and become someone spectacular.
Ron may not think much of his abilities but he really is Unstoppable
Gale Analysis: Scott Pilgrim Takes Off: Taking Responsibility
So I get obsessed with things too late.
But that doesnt mean anything cause I will still type about it.
Scott Pilgrim Takes off takes place in another Universe.
Obviously, BUT so does the Other Timeline.
(Spoilers for those that haven't Seen Scott Pilgrim Takes off)
So in this timeline Scott "Loses" To Mathew Patel, and everything is shaken up because of it.
Ramona goes on a quest to find Scott because she realizes he isnt actually dead. During which it is revealed that Older Scott, from 14 years in the future kidnaps Scott to prevent him from getting together with Ramona, as while he was in a depressive state from his divorce (which wasn't a divorce but separation) took a Sarcastic Wallace Quip Literally.
According to Wallace it was like Scott's break up with Envy but 10x worse. To which even Young Scott agreed "Oh s*** thats bad"
Despite seeing Older Scott wallowing he still wants to be with Ramona. And thus Older Scott realized he is still Married Ramona. (I think its potential multiverse theory but its never explained so i guess it isnt) So he trains for 10 years and decides f*** it he will fight EVERYONE so that way it NEVER happens. And he has not only his own skills, but the skills of ALL of Ramona's exes. Becoming EVEN OLDER Scott. The 8TH Evil Ex
(Motherf***er looking Like Akuma mixed with an old hermit)
This Scott ended up becoming an Evil Ex. (An irony that is pointed out that Ramona has said in the comic and Movie to Scott at one point)
Now if anyone is familiar with the OG Comic, Scott goes through an internal crisis that lets him realize how much of an Asshole he is about not learning from his mistakes. A Scott from the main continuity would never have fallen into his previous failings like future Scott did, and Ramona of the main timeline also realized her hang ups and would likely have been more open communicating. Granted most of her hang up were because of Gideon's Glow manipulation. (Emotional weapon that messes with people including memories and stuff but thats too complicated).
But seeing this timeline and the one of the show, there is no Glow Manipulation, there is no Nega Scott, we know certain events happen like the canon timeline did in the Movie/Musical script. (How Lucas Loses, how Scott beat each ex, Ramona and Scott getting together). But there was no mention of Scott's emotional journey that helped Scott become a better person.
Older Scott never developed like the OG scott. He may have had a hiccup with Knives, but that is it. He gets the girl and stays married for 13 years. We never know what caused the need for separation, but Ramona leaves and Scott (who never learned his lessons) becomes bitter and heartbroken.
In the ending, Ramona realizes that her Constantly leaving the things she cares about seems to always be the Catalyst that results in people taking things poorly. Because she either leaves with no word or simply leaves because she wants to hurt them. Ramona realizes her shortcomings of being unable to say what she wants and communicate with people so that she could be understood. That she needed to accept her wants and feelings, to understand them THEN go into a relationship. This lets her see and own up to the Damage she's done and wanting to make amends on her side. Which allows her to fuse with her future self and become Super Ramona, sending Even Older Scott back in time and helping PRESENT Scott understand Ramona better and asking him to remind her when she starts getting distant.
And thats what all mediums of Scott Pilgrim have in common. The Main theme is Taking Responsibility and Understanding one's motives/Actions. And even if there were retcons and changes it still holds the Core of Scott Pilgrim. People can do s*** things but as long as they work to change and be better there is always hope, but we need to own up to our s***.
This Universe is different because its Ramona working through her issues instead of Scott working through his. Maybe this version of Scott after seeing what happened to his future self was able to Re-evaluate his life (also seeing what Ramona and the others were doing when he was gone that helps him not want to become the Buff evil ex he could be.)
Now there are a lot of things that were cut for these 8 episodes... but with the last episodes ending it could leave things open to a season 2, maybe the Glow gets reintroduced, maybe nega Ramona might appear (cause why not)
would the movie power system work with the show? to be more specific: would show marinette and adrien win sooner with the movie powers or would hawkmoth actually win?
This is a good question.
For one thing, With the movie powers, Ladybug and Chat noir dont get their signature abilities as quickly as they do, they have to get better with them. And eventually they get access.
Their Physical abilities are leagues higher though.
Chat noir was able to basically move at Mach speeds even without Ladybug there (and the two are comparable in abilities), and when He and Ladybug were working together, their super strength was Insane. Able to knock Mime away so fast and so hard he broke the sound barrier (Surpassing mach 1)
They also had no timers, meaning they could be transformed for a longer time.
BUT, they also werent invincible, Chat noir and Hawkmoth showed physical damage that they took.
Though the show also has shown limits to the durability of its users, but that's usually only when Cataclysm is involved.
But you mentioned movie powers, And Hawkmoth's powers in the movie were also Crazy powerful, even akumatizing himself, gave him powers to fly, telekinesis, turn water into magma, cause explosions, Psychic slashes, Summon countless butterflies, and more. We can argue that Hawkmoth would eventually reach that point of desperation and would try that.
But the thing is, Ladybug and Chat noir in the show are actually more in sync. And in that regard when fighting as one WOULD be more than a match for Hawkmoth's powers. Because Ladybug always sees a way to win in the show, with or without a lucky charm.
But to circle back to your first question, Could the power system work in the show, Yes. It could if it was explained in more detail and demonstrated in slower increments. But do know it is a lot simpler than the one in the show, but even the show forgets about its so called rules on occasion so I think it could work
As for the second question, I think the answer is, If we threw Show adrien and Show Marinette in the same situation their movie counterparts were in. Including the emotional devastation. I would say yes. I think that Show!Marinette would be more sure of herself and Show!Adrien (Who would still be bitter) would listen to her, and the two with their combined power could fight Hawkmoth better then their movie counterparts. Assuming they are fighting Movie!Hawkmoth. Who while more powerful than his show counterpart cause of the powers, hasnt shown any fighting skill.
If they are fighting Show!Hawkmoth with Movie!Hawkmoth's powers then it gets dicey. Because in the show, Ladybug and Chat noir are only shown ever getting the better of a Healthy Hawkmoth when they have 3 additional heroes backing them up. And in this case, sure they get their stronger together powerboost. They are fighting an akumatized Hawkmoth who is effortlessly decimating the city WHILE fighting them. Hawkmoth is a literal chaos incarnate. I would even say his powers eclipse his form as peak monarch (Minus the exhaustion) Unless the stronger together power also comes in with some resistances, Hawkmoth might just take it
