JORDAN ROTH
Jordan Roth in Robert Wun. This look was inspired by the "Pygmalion and Galathea" painting by Jean-Leon Gerome, following the dress code "Fashion is art"...
This look is so interesting and is the type of outfit that leaves an impression. I think it is an interesting interpretation of the theme, "Costume Art"...
The way I see it Jordan is 'Galathea' and the statue clinging to him is 'Pygmalion'. In the initial painting, following the myth, Galathea is made from Ivory, and Pygmalion is seen clinging to her. Galathea is a muse but is also heavily objectified by Pygmalion. I think this look highlights Galathea as a muse, as her own person, and relegates Pygmalion to the background, portraying him as an object, Galathea isn't the one who appears to be the statue, the object anymore...
The risk they took was calculated, but… (Legend of Drizzt: Lolth‘s Warrior)

Oops my hand slipped and drew a one shot character.
A Sea-Nymph, possibly Galathea. Ginevra Cantofoli (Italian,1618-1672). Oil on canvas.
Sea-nymph is one of Cantofoli’s masterpieces, and most likely depicts Galatea who was a popular subject in 17th-century painting. Here she wears a crown of diverse mollusk shells and holds a coral. In Ovid's Metamorphoses, Galatea transformed her mortal lover Acis into a river spirit after he was killed by the jealous Cyclops, Polyphemus. The nymph's white, almost transparent skin demonstrates that Cantofoli was familiar with classical texts describing Galatea, whose name means "milk-white."
For @aprildrawing today I didn’t actually follow the challenge, bc I kinda did that yesterday.
Instead I drew the wonderful Galathea who was created by @space-glitter-gay. I’m finally getting her nose right but drawing curls is still a big struggle. 🌌 🌟
