For the first half of our journey in the Galápagos Islands, we spent some time in Santa Cruz, the most developed of the Galápagos Islands. We got to see lots of tortoises in the wild right when we first arrived! They're huge! Even spotted one doing pushups 😂!
We also went to Isla Seymour Norte (North Seymour Island) and saw plenty of birds including frigatebirds puffing their chests and lots of boobies (blue-footed) as well as other wildlife like iguanas!

Visiting Spike the Galapagos tortoise 2yrs ago!! He’s still a relative baby at only 45yrs old and over 500lbs. . I absolutely love these tortoises, they’re so incredible and it’s like hanging out with a living dinosaur!! These huge tortoises are an example of island gigantism, and come in several different species across the Galápagos Islands! These famous tortoises, the finches, and other incredible wildlife of the Galápagos Islands inspired Charles Darwin while writing about evolution!
