⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀—— 𖦏 ⌯⁍ * he was aboard the Express, but that doesn't mean he's settled . he's amicable, but in the way that a wild animal is rescued in one's backyard . wary, pacing, but grateful in their own way . he knew he was hard to look at, hard to reconcile someone with so little humanity ─── at least on the surface level .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * unnatural eyes, teeth, traded away to make him deadlier . most folks on this train were nice enough . just wasn't in his wheelhouse to be so .. approached . to have others gather around him not in morbid curiosity but instead clamoring for the sake of his well - being . ain't that a kick in the teeth . when did he, a piece of culture so dedicated to community, get so skittish at the idea ?

"i  suppose  you're  right.  every  time  someone  is  placed  on  the  exact  path  of  their  aeon,  they  sacrifice  a  bit  of  themself  and  confess  their  deepest  of  sins."  she  didn't  know  much  about  that,  despite  being  an  emanator  herself,  but  when  it  came  to  her  power  level  she  was  far  beyond  a  regular  emanator.  "do  you  see  it  often?  you  go  to  so  many  worlds."  

she  sits  back,  sighing  a  little.  "i  would  see  it  a  lot.  with  the  rangers,  you  know?  i've  been  running  with  the  galaxy  rangers  for  a  very  long  time.  you  offer  yourself  and  your  mind  to  lan,  and  simply  become  a  hunter.  i  used  to  not  understand  why  these  hunts  are  so  important  to  them,  but  after  so  long,  i  understand.  they  have  confessions  to  make,  and  this  is  how  they  come  to  terms  with  those  confessions."

the  halovian  woman  smiles  gently,  tilting  her  head  when  caelus  takes  her  hand  and  kisses  her  fingertips.  "is  this  some  sort  of  nameless  good  luck  wish?"  she  wished  that  she  could  talk  about  her  powers,  but  it  was  better  that  she  didn't.  "trust  me,  i'll  come  back.  i  haven't  traveled  with  mister  ashveil  all  this  time  to  be  knocked  down  by  another  emanator."

As Clear had come to understand, following the Wisdomwalker's predictions often took him through absurd paths and trials all to preserve the sanctity of the Circle of Knowledge. All well and good, but not every act committed would be regarded positively by those who paid unfortunate witness. And that day had been blatant memory manipulation that had left the victim dazed and confused, all because they would be destined to eventually stumble down a scholastic path that would've led them to the Intelligentsia Guild, to become obsessed with Voracity, and eventually so depraved and immoral that several planets in the Lafcadio System would've been destroyed.

So, in doing this, they avoided that.

Still, as the future villain bumbled away, confused as to how they'd wound up in this quiet part of Duomension City, Clear was left with a witness he didn't think would notice. Let alone the literal, exalted hero of the story.

My knowledge of this game is very limited to what people have shared with me or what I've looked up out of curiosity. Sorry ahead of time, but feel free to dunk me with lore!

Iirc, Enya is one of the Aeons? Which are the deities of the game?

In which case, Mortem by default would be antagonistic just due to her nature clashing with deities of any kind. That doesn't mean automatic hostility, but she would be likely to be outright mean. But depending on the deity, if they have the patience to engage with her (and she them), then there's a chance for that aggression to lessen and something more pleasant to take root.
