“QB.”

“Galacta. Whatever brings you here this evening? Are you finally going to kill me or are you going to attempt to convince me to pick a side once more?”

The star warrior bristled at her tone,  but kept calm. “To talk. I came here to talk.”

“About what, pray tell?” QB spoke as airily as ever, always seeming to enjoy aggravating the former knight.

“If you truly care about that child that you are raising, then you’ll leave that horrendous company.”

This got the blond’s attention. Almost would have made her incensed if she had not recalled that the Knight had seen how she acted around the child when he was corrupted.

“Tch. I see you’ve been combing through unpleasant memories.”

“The Art Sorceress told me that she refuses to kill you because of the child’s hold on you—or perhaps I should say your hold on him,” Galacta spat. He didn’t like having to do this, having to argue, let alone convince, someone who willingly worked for any Nightmare. She had done enough to make him convinced that she would never be worth saving, but his recent discussion with the Art Witch on his plans to save the kid had revealed that some things had changed. “If it is enough to cause the witch to halt in killing you, then I feel that I must try once more to convince you to change, if only for his sake.”

“You speak as if you know his importance.”

“…I know some of it.”

Though it was subtle, Galacta could tell that QB was beginning to get uncomfortable with the subject. He smirked behind his mask. She didn’t like it when people knew more than she thought they did, did she?

“About his powers over time and space. And I do recall your fondness for the child. I had thought that was a mere act, but then I recalled how bothered you seem when you began asking…” he paused, his pride as a Star Warrior making his corruption difficult to mention. Still, he plowed through, not wanting to lose what little ground he’s gained on the annoying blond. “Asking myself questions as if to check how much you had said. Either they were false leads under a false drunken act, or you lack self-restraint when it comes to doting on that child.”

“And your point?” the blond says, keeping her cool. Though she’s bothered by his knowledge, his black or white view of things not keeping him so stupidly steadfast to the belief that everything is immensely fake or for a point of keeping the child under her control, she continues to appear to be nonchalant. “This is all old news, you see, and I’m very well aware of the potential persuasive points that you could be using to get me to care about a side or not. The fact of the matter is this: I won’t agree to a side in a war that I’m not involved in, and will offer my services wherever the most enticing deal leads.”

“You will continue to keep yourself in bonds, a willing indentured servant to that thing?”

“If that is how you’ll word it.”

“That is your answer then?”

“That is my answer.”

Galacta drew his weapon. “Then I have no other choice.”

“Oh, I’m sure you do, but your inane sense of honor makes you think you don’t. I’m sure you’ll love arguing with the child over whether or not it was right or wrong to do this.”

“…He’ll understand in time, QB.”
