Me about Lily’s story: You see, it’s about metamorphosis, not just of the new vampires as they come to terms with their new identity, but of vampirehood and vampire society, of what it used to mean and used to be under the influences of the older vampires like Gaius and later the clans to B3. It’s the rejection of the isolationism and solitude that was synonymous to vampirehood, with the perpetual otherness and monstrosity that defines vampires. Throughout the story, Lily and the new vampires test out vampire mythos, deconstructing them and thus also the stigma around vampires that is rooted in the ideas of their inherent evilness and impurity. Kamilah and Lily as foils, Kamilah who was Gaius’s Queen, Kamilah who is a council member, Kamilah who in many ways is the embodiment of the old system. She tells Lily, these rules exist for a reason, she genuinely believes in them, like she genuinely believed in Gaius. Yet it is she who solidified the end of Gaius’s rule as she stabbed him. She changes alongside the system, constantly shifting, metamorphosing. She tells Lily the rules are there for a reason and Lily points out the flaws in the system. The council’s reinforcement of these rules hides how arbitrary, harmful and inadequate they are, and the existence of the Shadow Den proves that they don’t exist for the benefit of vampires, but for the council because their power is tied to them (if not the rules within themselves, then the fact it is they who have the power to choose and enforce those rules, and have bent them for their own purposes). And Kamilah concedes. The story ends with Lily deciding to create Fangbook. Digital technology, internet and social media, symbols of modernity and the new age, used to give vampires autonomy and community.
Me about Adrian and Kamilah’s stories: Nah I don’t think they have anything important or interesting to say, that’s just the Bloodbound writers’ Loustat fanfiction, you all are overthinking them

Gaius Augustine (Bloodbound)
So I doubt anyone's gonna recognize this guy because he's a side character in an already very niche fandom BUT he is such a deadpan yet charming icon that I have to submit him. Spoilers for Bloodbound btw.
The Second Son of all vampires, it is his bloodline that all vampires in Bloodbound are descended from. He had a 2000+ year relationship with an Egyptian queen and then she stabbed him for wanting to take over the New World and kill all humans lmao. Anyway he came back and turns out he'd been mind controlled to hate humans the whole time, whoops! So now he's just there with epic deadpan one-liners and quips as he tries to beg the forgiveness of the Main Character who he killed (dw she's ok, she just also became a vampire) & hunt down the First Vampire who placed the mind control on him in one of the best redemption arcs I've ever read. Oh and he looks super hot while doing it, ofc.
