After seeing and reading Gabriel's tome and everything, I feel bad for him even more because he believes or believed that he had a normal childhood or a childhood in general. He believes or believed that he had a mom, a dad, a family, that he used to play baseball and he used to go school with other kids, along with thinking he was just born in general when in reality, he was tested on/basically experimented on, forced to accept these memories in his head that aren't even his own to the point it looks like it distorting his mind and it causing confusion with the horrible timing of the HUX basically gaining a self aware conscience and killing his entire team. ,
