Happy STS! Just stopping but with a writing question for today :) How do you conceptualize a scene? What do you start with when trying to craft a scene?
Happy STS to you too, I hope your day was/is/will be good !
To conceptualize a scene, I need a lot of time, first I need to see if it flows "right" in my mind, do the dialogues sound natural? What is the setting? Does one character appear in the room like it's a play, or did it start in media res with the character already there? Which pov do I follow? Then I make a bullet list of all these observations and then
decide if I want to add symbolism through colors and various elements, and then I start to build it idea by idea, until the words can convey the image/movie I envisioned !
I also always follow the same path : setting (background, furniture, lighting), people involved (naming, showing how many are in the scene, how do they feel about one another), then movement (feelings, dialogues, actions) !
(Note to self : This might be because I'm a huge Mauriac fan, Thérèse Desqueyroux was amazingly crafted.)

I'll say one more thing, or several.
Fuck all time low and fuck jack barakat and also fuck all the years we all spent loving these men in bands like they were shit. We were also young and didn't know better and in my case I wouldn't have ever met these people because of where I live but I still loved all these bands so much from afar. I still devoted my teens to loving their music and them as people which is obviously.,.. not good.
My love for music and all the things surrounding it now feels stained which I guess feels the same for whoever still follows me here and relates. I wasn't even all that into the "bandom" or whatever anymore (like not being around this blog is proof enough) I only still enjoyed the music, but it still sucks and it's still disgusting and it feels so, so wrong. And if you're reading this and feel the same way I'm sending you a hug. And if you've had awful experiences with bands you thought were your heroes, I'm so deeply sorry.
Stop giving these men platforms, support can only go so far. Stop caring so much about these people you don't know anything about. Music shouldn't be a dangerous place for anyone, specially young people.
Believe assault victims. No excuses. Hold these trash men accountable.
