it’s been a long time since san has been anywhere with just one person. they’re called dates, he believes– so yeah, he’s on a date (it’s funny, just the notion of it). he promised his friend he would, just to get them off his back. it’s not unpleasant, and he picked the place– a coffee shop. of course. and although san is far from shy– he’s not entirely sure how to keep a conversation going.

so he shows it in motions instead– grabs both their drinks, pulls out her chair, smiles and tries to talk about his day. and there’s an insistent alarm from his phone, and it’s the important one. now, he’s not the saintliest of people, but he has enough social skills to know he’s not a complete douchebag. “i’m so sorry, i have to cut this short,” so he apologizes, scribbles down his number on a sky blue sticky note and stands up. he leans across the table and presses a kiss to her cheek (is it forward? is it not forward? he doesn’t really know anymore, it’s been a while).

it’s loud– it’s crowded, it’s honestly apart of silver’s life at this point. things are a little more… sparkly, the drinks seem to be on a different level, the crowd-goers seem to be glowing. he doesn’t question it. he weaves his way through, knocking back glasses from strangers, and in the midst of it, from someone who has had too much to drink or not enough or just did not want any more–

“do you want the rest of this?”

and he turns, his foot catches, he happens to slip a tiny bit. instinctively, his hands reach out, one to catch her around the waist, one to hold her drink-holding hand steady. and his lips are suddenly on someone else’s– for just a split second. he pauses before he straightens up, gently pulling her with him before letting go.
