Loreal India Science Scholarships open for young women 2016 ( FYWIS)
L’Oréal strongly believes that science is the source of progress, and the contribution of women is vital to its future. That is why we have initiated the L’Oréal India for Young Women in Science Scholarship Programme, which encourages and supports young women to pursue careers in science.
The programme was instituted in 2003 and has consistently helped young women to pursue scientific studies. A scholarship of Rs. 250,000/- each is granted to promising but economically disadvantaged young women and covers college fees for study in any scientific field in a recognized college or university in India.
Purpose: Scholarship is only for girl students desirous of pursuing degree course in Science/Medical/ Engineering/ Biotechnology or any other scientific field
Award: Cash Rs 2.5 lakh to each girl
Eligibility: 85% PCM/PCB, family income less than 4 Lakh per annum

Application Procedure :
The candidates should submit the form duly completed in all respects in a sealed envelope clearly mentioning “SCHOLARSHIP” on the top left hand corner of the envelope. The envelope should be addressed to : The Scholarship Cell, L’Oréal India Private Limited, 2nd floor, Peninsula Towers, Ganpatrao Kadam Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai 400 013.
FYWIS Scholarship Selection :
Candidates are short listed based on their HSC marks, past academic performance, extracurricular activities and on the essay submitted. Short listed candidates along with their parents will be called to attend an interview in Mumbai/ Delhi (based on the proximity of the candidate) at their own cost. The interview will be conducted by a jury consisting of a L’Oréal representative and other imminent members of the scientific/ academic communities.
