Book Clubs Updates
Hey y’all!
I am so sorry that I have not been updating the Book Club. Things have just been getting a little out of control lately.
Originally, the first book for the book club was The Glass Castle by Jennette Walls. I have finished reading it and would like to know your thoughts on it (if you have read it as well).
Let me know if there are certain parts of the novel you would wish me to elaborate on, or just let me know what you thought of it.
My opinion(which is compressed for brevity sake) *mild spoilers ahead*:
I read this book for the first time maybe 3.5 years ago. For me, it was a harrowing tale narrated by a very optimistic narrator. This idea of a Glass Castle I found was very interesting. In the novel, it is Rex’s (the narrator’s father) imagined life that he could provide for his family. This got me to thinking... Do I have a “Glass Castle”in my life?
So here is my question to all of you guys: Do you have a Glass Castle in you life? An imagined future that you hope to achieve?
If you liked The Glass Castle, I recommend Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heater O’Neill.
Only a third of the books we have in my basement.... Time to organise!
