For you he tries; Zedd&Madeline
Zedd wished there was more that he could do for Madi. The cyborg understood that Madeline had taken many risks to keep him safe. He sometimes felt what could be labelled as guilt for forcing her into this lifestyle. Life on the run was no life for a girl her age. She’d made plenty of sacrifices for him and all he seemed to be able to do in return was not get them caught. At least he had managed that so far. Despite there having been one or two close calls.
The pair were currently on their way back to where there were staying for the time being from the local market. Madeline carried a single bag of groceries since reality was only one of them received their nourishment from such substances. Zedd simply had to plug himself into an outlet each night and he’d be fully charged in what seemed like no time at all.
Matching Madi’s pace, Zedd fell into stride next to her. He was glancing around from side to side as they walked. Zedd never wanting to miss a thing when to him the world was both a wonder and a strange place. His gaze had been following a flock of birds overhead when a patch of bright yellow flowers caught his eye.
With it not taking long for Zedd to fully charge, there were several hours in the early morning when Madi was still asleep where he had to find a means to entertain himself. Zedd had picked up the habit of watching television if he could during those hours. There was plenty for him to learn in doing so. There had been a movie he had once seen where there had been a scene involving the main male leading picking a bundle of flowers for the woman he was with. Zedd had noted the gesture as being genuine and a way to show those that mattered most that you were thinking of them. Zedd may have not been able to do much for Madi, but this small thing, it was something he could manage.
Veering off to the left suddenly, Zedd walked across the grass, crouching to pick the flowers for Madi once he reached them. He spent a few minutes plucking a handful from the ground, being careful not to bend any of their petals. With a large grin on his face, he made his way back to Madi’s side once he was satisfied with the number of flowers he had.
“These are for you.”
He continued to smile widely. Being blissfully unaware that what he had given her was in fact dandelions. A weed.
