Pairing: Jungkook x Reader

Summary: You never expected your trip to Seoul to end up like it does. You didn’t expect to step off the plane and have coffee pour down your shirt. You also didn’t expect the guy to offer to show you around the city. You notice things about him that don’t quite make sense, like how he shows interest but will only see you when he has the time which is at random hours during the day and night. Who knew your only friend in Seoul would turn out to be an international star and just how difficult things could get.

“Okay so explain this to me again…” you looked at Jimin who was standing in front of you with a huge smile on his face.

“If I keep explaining it then it ruins the fun, don’t ya think?”

“No…I think it does the exact opposite.” You crossed your arms with a huff. You weren’t really frustrated but you really didn’t get why he couldn’t tell you anything.

“I’m not ruining his plans for you, so don’t even start to try and look at me like that.” He covered his eyes with one hand and pointed at you with the other, only the finger wasn’t really pointing at you it was quite a bit to the left.

“Can you just give me one hint? Please. I have no idea what to expect and it’s only making me even more nervous.” You sighed, “Why did I agree to this?”

“Because you love him. You can’t tell me that you don’t want to be with him, consequences be damned.” He sat down on the arm of your couch looking at you.

“Jimin…I can’t go through that. To have him and have everything I want and suddenly having to let that go and be an ocean apart is just torture. Yes of course I want that, but realistically you know I’m right.”

“Why do you have to go back to America? I get your family is there, but from what I’ve seen you enjoy it here. You could at least stay for a year or so and at least give this whole thing with Jungkookie a try. Before you think anything, no he hasn’t asked me to talk about this with you. Truthfully he was pretty clear that I shouldn’t talk about it, but it’s hard watching you two.” He shrugged.

“Why does everyone keep bringing that up like it’s such an easy answer? There’s so much that goes into a decision like that. I would have to find a job and apply for a work visa. Not to mention a million other things that go along with that. Also, what are you talking about when you say watching us is hard?” You were looking at Jimin trying to read him. While your friendship was new you were closer with Jimin than with any of the other members and you were starting to pick up on small things, like how he always smiles when he talks about JK.

Jimin turned to face you a little more while still sitting on the arm of the couch, “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen two people who fit together like you guys do. If I didn’t know any better, I would guess that the two of you have known each other for years. I’ve never seen Jungkookie as happy as he has been since you came into his life. He really cares about you Y/N and I don’t think it’s a fling either. When you guys look at each other it’s like witnessing something intimate and a lot of times we leave the room, not that I think either of you notice.” He ran his fingers through his hair and licked his lips before continuing, “Jungkook has always had a hard time connecting with people on a personal level and he’s very shy. You’re the first girl he hasn’t run away from and I don’t mean that figuratively. There’s something about you, there’s something different that allows him to open up to you. When you took the time to try and figure things out I’ve never seen him like that. The thought of you never wanting to see him again really plagued him and I think it’s still something he worries about with what we do for a living.”

“Jimin…” his name hung in the air while you tried to find words, “Does that not prove what I’ve been saying? On just how much it will hurt him when I leave?  I don’t want to hurt him Jimin. I know I’m hurting him in certain ways right now, because I won’t be with him but it will be a million times worse if we’ve been together.”

“I see how you are with him. I don’t think you realize what it’s like to watch you two. Its heart breaking in some aspects because everyone knows how you feel for each other and we’re watching you guys dance around the whole thing and we can see the pain it causes sometimes. We see the stolen glances you guys give each other, and we sure as hell don’t miss the way the two of you lean on one another.” Jimin slid off of the couch arm rest and sat down on the couch right beside it but still facing you. “Look, I can’t tell you what to do and I know you don’t know me that well, but I do know Jungkook and if you did stay you would never regret it. He would do anything to make you happy and you don’t find that in someone very often.”

You didn’t say anything to that but you nodded your head so he knew you heard what he said. You had been battling with yourself ever since you promised to go on the date with him. You would go between excited and anxious constantly. You wish it really was as easy as everyone said it would be. JK made you happy, you couldn’t remember a time in your life where you were happier than you were when you were with him. Even if it was just sitting on the couch and both of you reading it was always a good day when he was around. Whenever he wasn’t near it felt like a piece of you was missing and it seemed like he felt the same because you started coming to a lot more things as long as you were allowed to.

In doing so you had become a lot closer to the other members of his group. It was no longer awkward if JK had to walk away and leave you with one of the members which was nice. It seemed like the trust that you had needed to earn was finally paid because the members told JK that you were allowed to come to the dorm any time but neither of you had taken them up on the offer yet. JK would complain that he didn’t want to share you and you couldn’t help but roll your eyes. Thinking about all of that caused your heart and mind battle on what to do.

“Okay he just text me. You okay to go, or do you want a few minutes?” The way Jimin cared was always appreciated.

“No, it’s fine. Let’s go.” Jimin grabbed his bag and he instructed you that all you would need is yourself and a coat just in case. It made you raise an eyebrow at him in question but he just smiled. You knew that it was going to be impossible to get anything out of him. It looked like JK had let Jimin borrow his car because when you walked outside you saw it parked at the curb. Even though you know JK wasn’t there it still made your heart jump in excitement because his car at the curb had been a welcomed sight. The drive into Seoul was mostly idle chit chat but still pleasant. When Jimin got closer to the downtown area of Seoul he reached over to the glove compartment and grabbed a blindfold and handed it to you.

“Ummm….i didn’t know you were into that kind of thing.” Your filter was yet again lacking.

His cheeks tinged pink, “Put it on.” he handed it to you and you slipped it over your eyes.

“Sorry if i made you uncomfortable, I lack a filter sometimes and forget my audience. I don’t really have a filter around JK so it’s become a small habit.” You situated it comfortably and leaned back in the seat.

“It’s okay.” he laughed, “I’ve been getting used to it the more i hangout with you.” You smile at that and the both of you just listened to the radio the rest of the way and you couldn’t help but laugh when one of their songs came on. You had briefly listened to some of their albums but you just hadn’t gotten around to listening to all of them. Hearing Jimin sing along in person took you by surprise. You’d heard his vocals before because you’d heard their music but it was the first time you were hearing his voice in person that wasn’t being blasted over a packed crowd during a concert.

“You have a great voice Jimin.” you hoped that made him smile.

“Thanks.” he seemed reserved at accepting the compliment. What was it with JK and his members feeling awkward when they were given compliments.

You felt the car take a sharper turn than the others and start to slow down before coming to a stop. Your heart felt like it was going to jump out of your chest and run off down the street. You had already started to fidget before Jimin had even gotten out of the car. You heard your door open and he grabbed your hand to help you out which in turn led you to have a death grip on his hand.

“Relax Y/N. You’re still the same two people hanging out its just in a different setting. He really wanted you to have a good time, so just remember that. You’re here to have fun and hangout with your best friend whom you love.” you gave his hand a harder squeeze after that in warning.

“Ah!” he pulled his hand away from you, “You’re so violent, but I still stand by what i said.” you felt his hands on your shoulders as you were guided to move forward, “Watch your step.” you hesitated until you found the step and continued on.

Jimin stopped you to open a door, or at least that’s what it sounded like, before guiding you inside. You had no idea what was going on and you were dying of anticipation and you really did want to see JK it had only been two days but you hated the days you didn’t get to see each other. He said to just look forward to today to help you get through it, which it helped a little but you really just wanted to see him.

Jimin pulled you to a stop, “Here she is.” you could hear the smile in his voice and your heart sped up when you heard JK’s voice.

“Thanks hyung.” Jimin whispered a quick ‘have fun’ in your ear and you smiled as he turned to leave. “I hope you didn’t give him too much of a hard time since he wouldn’t tell you anything.”

“I did. I tied him to a chair and threatened to break his fingers but he still wouldn’t budge.”

“That’s a loyal brother, i’ll need to thank him later.” you felt his finger ghost across your cheek before pulling your blindfold off slowly. You blink a few times to adjust to the lighting in the room. The first thing that came into view was JK’s smile. A smile that reached his eyes and it made heart flutter. You noticed that he looked more exceptional than normal. He was normally dressed casually and comfortable but today he chose to wear a black fitted t-shirt with dark jeans. Your eyes glanced over his body and he didn’t miss it because when you got to his face he was smirking.

“Shut it.” you mumbled while your cheeks turned pink. It was only then that you noticed where you were at. Your eyes tried to take in everything in front of you but you were speechless. When you did finally gain brain function you looked at him, “you brought me to an arcade?”

“I know you said it was one of your favorite past times and you said some of your best memories were from there, so i thought we’d create a few here in Seoul.” he looked nervous waiting for your reaction. You stepped into him and slid your arms around him with your face buried in his chest.

“I love it.” your voice was muffled but he heard it because he gave you a small squeeze in return before dropping a quick kiss on the top of your head which hit you like cold water. The two of you didn’t need to be seen out like this and since he didn’t have his mask on. “JK what are you doing?” you pulled back quickly, “if anyone sees us here they-”

“Won’t do anything because we’re the only two here.”

“I’m sorry, what?” you were pretty sure you heard him incorrectly.

“We’re the only ones here, so we don’t have to worry about anything.” he was still smiling down at you even though your heart was still recovering from the scare you gave yourself.

“How?” you took a step back when he didn’t answer, “I swear if you paid to rent this place out i-”

“Will have a good time? I don’t mind paying any amount if it allows us to go out and do something together and not have to hide. Plus, i want this to be a good memory for you.” he put an arm around your shoulder and pulled you into his side as he walked. When rounding the corner you saw pizza boxes laid out on the air hockey table. Even though you had eaten pizza together many times your mind went back to the first time when he brought you cheese pizza to your hotel room. “I figured i would keep it simple.”

You caught his gaze and you both smiled, “Simple is good.” you said softly. He dropped his arm and the both of you walked over to the pizza and each took a slice and started to eat. Jimin was right on the fact that it didn’t really feel that much different than when you would hang out with him, you just happen to do it on a bigger scale than normal.

The both of you had eaten your fill and JK was cleaning up the boxes before turning to face you, “So how does air hockey sound?” he titled his hand towards the table.

You smiled and nodded, “It’s on.”

“We should make this interesting.” you rose an eyebrow at his statement.

“Oh really?” you leaned against the table looking at him, “What do you have in mind exactly?”

He acted like he was thinking but you had a suspicion that he already had planned this and wanted you to think it was on the spot. You shook your head and sent him a knowing smile and he knew he was caught. He laughed, “Okay. You remember when we were trying to get to know each other and we would ask questions back and forth? We know each other pretty well now, but i want to try and get a little deeper. I want to know everything about you.” he shrugged unapologetically.

You bit your lip feeling a little anxious at the thought. JK was always a wild card when it came to anything competitive and you knew you had a hard time turning down things that he wanted. “Okay.” A smile broke out on JK’s face that you instantly questioning if agree was a bad idea.

“Whoever scores gets to ask a question.” you nodded, “You only get to pass on three questions though.”

The two of you played and it went on for a bit without anyone scoring and since the two of you were both competitive neither of you were going to back down. The puck slowed towards the center and both of you went to hit it. You leaned over the table as far as you could to hit it and JK missed it going straight into his goal and he hadn’t even moved to block it. You looked up at him and his eyes were trained on you and you were wondering what he was staring at. He cleared his throat and looked away and you furrowed your brows confused as to what was going on. When you stood up from the stable you realized that your shirt had pulled down a bit revealing a little more cleavage and you felt your cheeks burn in embarrassment.

“That was a mean power play.” He was looking at you now that you had stood up right and situated your shirt so everything was covered and back to normal.

“I don’t play that dirty.” You rolled your eyes.

“Maybe you should.” The words shocked you and you couldn’t help but just stare at him. Had he really just said that? JK could be forward at times but that was even more so than he had in the past.

“Oh really?” you raised an eyebrow at him and he just nodded.

JK gave you a noncommittal shrug, “Just know that it goes both ways.” You could see the mischievous glint in his eye and you shook your head knowing that if he tried anything remotely in that general area that it would be the death of you. Every part of JK was distracting but you had done your best to become immune.

“So I get a question, yeah?” he nodded in response. You hadn’t really thought about what you would ask and you were doing your best to come up with something that was incredibly lame and generic. You wanted to find out things you hadn’t talked about before. You bit your lip, “Why did you write a song about me?”

Your question seemed to catch him off guard, “Umm…”

“You don’t have to answer.”

“No. Its okay, I want to. We haven’t really talked about it since I told you.” He seemed nervous and you couldn’t help but find it kind of cute. He left his side of the table and came to stand beside you and leaned against the edge of the table. “Um…I guess I should start at the beginning.”

You tried to give him a smile that would ease his nerves but it didn’t look like it helped any. The two of you hadn’t really visited the fact that he wrote a song about you since he confessed that ‘Save Me’ was written with you in mind. You were nervous to go analyze the lyrics, well the ones that you remembered since you hadn’t heard it since their dance practice.

“I’m sure the members have told you about how I was before I met you. I stayed at the dorm for the most part and didn’t really go out much. I was going through the motions of each day but making sure to pour everything I had into practices and lessons. I hadn’t really noticed the change in myself until Jimin pointed it out one night when we were talking about you and how I could tell you about me being an idol. I knew my feelings at this point and I was scared of losing you and realized how I had been months before and it felt like you saved me from my internal misery, so to speak. Every time we were apart it would feel wrong and I only ever felt right when I was with you. I started to feel like if I didn’t have you in my life I would lose myself, I would lose this person I had become. So I sat down that night and wrote those lyrics, starting with how vulnerable I was without you and that I needed you to thanking you for everything you’ve done for me by just being in my life.” He looked at you almost as if felt like a weight was lifted off of him. You didn’t know how to reply to that so you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around him and gave him a hug and buried your face in his chest.

The both of you stayed like that for a while feeling comfortable in his arms. It felt like there wasn’t anything in the world couldn’t hurt you. Nothing but the one person standing before you, the person you were so in love with , the person you wanted to be with so badly. It was surreal when you thought about how you got to this moment. You didn’t believe in fate or soul mates or any of that stuff, but JK definitely made you question it. You’d never felt anything like what you feel for him and part of you was terrified because you knew if you let him in completely it would leave you incredibly vulnerable and you couldn’t handle a heart break or losing him which was always going to be a possibility. What you felt for him scare you because you had never let yourself become so vulnerable like you had with JK. You felt like everything in your life shifted before you were ready. No one in your life, other than Jackson, knew about JK and he was a huge part of it and you knew if you ever dated that would have to change. People might find out about the two of you and your relationship could become a media obsession and that scared you. You decided that you weren’t going to think about that right now because you were with JK and that’s all you really wanted. You placed a quick kiss on his chest and he pulled you in tighter and felt your body relax. Yup, you were screwed…you’d fallen too far and there was no coming back from it.

You ran your fingers through JK’s hair while you stood behind him looking in the mirror. JK had talked you into coming to a performance at music bank to support him. He was still in the process of getting ready and the makeup artist was finishing up his make up while you tried to talk him into letting you do his hair for the performance.

“Come on don’t you trust me?” you continued to comb your fingers through it and making it look like he had a comb over.

“No. Not at all.” You tugged on his hair at his answer and he just laughed. You fixed his hair so it was lying flat like before.

“Will you at least part your hair so I can see your forehead.” You didn’t know what it was but when his hair was styled like that it was just too perfect and you loved it. It wasn’t his favorite hair style and you didn’t understand why, but he agreed and you smiled. You massaged his scalp for a minute or two and his eyes fluttered closed and moaned at the feeling. As soon as the moan slipped out you dropped your hands from his head. “I’m going to go get a drink.”

When you turned to leave you heard him laugh as you walked away. You had learned in the past to bring cash when you came with him to any show because while you were fine with water you needed caffeine, so you started bringing ones with you so you could find a vending machine and get a soda. Once you made it into the hall you bit your lip and glanced to the left and then to the right. You couldn’t remember which way you came so you had no idea which side the vending machine was on that you saw when walking with JK.

You decided to try going right because a part of you thinks you turned left into the room so you would have had to come from the right. You pulled out your phone to check the time because you didn’t want to be gone before JK was going to go on stage. He would complain like crazy if you missed it. Seeing that you had plenty of time you saw a group of people up ahead and hoped that maybe they would know where the vending machine was. By the time you got to them most of them had left only leaving one guy who was tying his shoe when you came up to him.

“Hey…ummm. Would you happen to know where the vending machine is?” You asked and he looked up at you. If you were honest with yourself you would admit that the guy was insanely attractive but you weren’t honest with yourself, instead you did your best to ignore it and focus on finding some damn caffeine.

He stayed crouched to the floor and he just stared and it got to be a little uncomfortable until he shook out of it, “Oh, yeah. I’ll show you.”

“Thanks!” You gave him a thankful smile and he led the way to the vending machine. You hadn’t decided what you would get yet and you were even debating on getting food.

“So are you performing?” the guy slowed a little bit so you weren’t walking with so much distance between the two of you so you could take easier.

“Oh. No. I’m here with some friends, they’re performing today.”

“Really? Who?”

“Bangtan Sonyeondan.” The guy nodded in acknowledgement but didn’t say anything to that. He was still walking close to you and it seemed like he wanted to keep talking and it seemed your hunch was right.

“So what company are you with? Trainee?” He ran his hand through his hair and smiled at you.

You couldn’t help but laugh at the question and he seemed confused, “I’m not a trainee. I don’t belong to any company. I’m just a regular person.”

At this the guy’s demeanor changed a little and he seemed to relax, but with that relaxation came looks that you didn’t quite understand. He held his hand out, “I’m Kai.”

“Y/N.” You shook his hand and dropped it as quickly as you could without seeming rude. “So where is this vending machine?” you felt like you had been walking for forever even though it probably hadn’t been that long.

“It’s right around the corner up here.” You saw the vending machine once you rounded the corner and you were so thankful.

“Thank you so much!” You hurried to the machine and put your money in and it spat it back out. You tried a few more times but all it did was spit it back out every time. You huffed in annoyance at the machine because all you wanted to do in that moment was kick it.

“Here.” Kai pulled a wallet from his back pocket and pulled out some more and fed it to the machine with ease. “Go ahead and choose what you want.”

You reached over and hit the button and waited until it fell down into the opening. You bent down to retrieve it and stood up and opening it instantly to take a sip. Once you closed it back up you held your money out for Kai to take but he waved it away.

“Keep it. My treat.”

“No. Please take it, I don’t feel right you paying for my drink.”

“It’s not a lot of money and I have plenty of that so it’s not a big deal.” He leaned against the machine and crossed his arms looking at you.

“Okay, well thank you.” You gave a small bow and turned to leave but he grabbed your wrist lightly.

“Hey I don’t normally do this, but is there a way I could get your Kakao ID?” His request shocked you so much that you froze.

“I’m sorry, what?” you were pretty sure that you had misheard him because there was no way that he was asking for your contact info.

“Can I have your Kakao ID, or phone number if you’d rather do it that way?”

“Why?” The no filter thing came out to play again. You just didn’t understand why he would want it, you had barely talked to the guy.

“Because I think you’re cute and that your personality is even better. I just want to get to know you.”

“No thanks, but I appreciate the compliment.” You could tell that he wasn’t used to be turned down. He seemed almost shocked by your answer and maybe a little dumbfounded. You could tell he hadn’t been told no much when it came to girls. You gave an apologetic smile and turned to leave but he lightly grabbed your wrist again but dropped it when you looked at him.

“If playing hard to get is the game you want to play, I’m up for the challenge.” He had stepped closer and was looking down at you. It wasn’t predatory in any sense but more of the fact that he was playing into what he thought you wanted.

“I’m good.” You shook your head and took a few steps back.

“Y/N.” You turned and saw Yoongi standing there his eyes on Kai. “You okay?”

You cleared your throat, “Umm yeah.” You took a few steps back before turning around and walking over to Yoongi. Once you were beside him you thanked Kai again and the two of you walked down the hall side by side.

Once you were further away Yoongi stopped you and you turned to look at him. “Be honest, was everything okay back there? I don’t want to read the situation incorrectly.”

“Yeah, it was fine.” You weren’t going to admit that you got a little uncomfortable and nervous. “He was just showing me where the vending machine was so I could get a drink.”

“Then what was going on when I got there?”

“Oh, umm.” You bit your lip, “he was basically asking me for my number. When I told him no he thought I was playing hard to get which is what you walked up to.”

“Well your lucky I was the one that found you and not Jungkook.” He shook his head and the two of you started walking again.

“What do you mean?”

“He went looking for you after you’d been gone for a while and he asked me to take the other hall. You know how he feels about you, so how do you think he would take a guy hitting on you and asking for your number. Not only that, he was literally towering over you and it looked like he was trying to intimidate you.”

He was right. Jungkook was incredibly protective over you and you didn’t really mind because when you did go places with him you didn’t know anyone outside of the members and some of their staff that you had communicated with on quite a few occasions. There really wasn’t a reply to Yoongi’s statement because the both of you knew it was true and you really were glad it was Yoongi that found you. After spending more time with the group Yoongi came off almost with a father figure vibe. He kept an eye on you in the sense of making sure you were okay in certain situations and he’d check on you here and there throughout your time with them when you went to places like performances and interviews.

The both of you walked into their dressing room and JK got off the couch as soon as he saw you. Yoongi left your side so you and JK could talk, because you were sure you were about to get lectured. So you put on your brightest smile and held up your drink, “I have now fed my caffeine addiction.” JK just shook his head and closed the distance between you.

“Are you trying to drive me insane?” He kept his voice quiet because the staff was filming some of the other members and he didn’t want to draw attention to the both of you or have your conversation heard. He shifted the both of you over close to the wall “Can you at least tell someone when you decide to leave the room?”

You sighed, “JK you worry too much.” You leaned against the wall and crossed your arms. “I’m more than able to find a vending machine on my own without a search party.” You put your hand on his chest, “Seriously stop worrying so much.”

He hooked a finger around your belt loop and pulled you closer to him. This made it to where you had to look up at him while he was looking down at you. “I will always worry about you.” He whispered. “So get used to it.”

You felt your cheeks flush so you averted your gaze to the ground but he put his finger under your chin to make you look at him again. “The main reason I worried is because we’re about to go on and I didn’t want you coming back to an empty room. I know you’re capable of doing just about anything you want, you’ve proven that many times.” He dropped his hand from your chin but you still continued to look up at him. His eyes traveled to the other side of the room and the staff was filming Jimin and Tae messing around with the two of you a little too close to the shot. He looked back down at you, “Take a walk with me?”

You nodded and he held out his hand for you to take. You put your hand in his and the two of you interlaced your fingers and he guided the both of you to the door leading out into the hall.

Your cell rang while you were doing laundry so you tossed the clothes in the dryer and turned it on and quickly ran over to your phone to answer it. “Hello?”

“Y/N did you see what BTS posted on their YouTube channel?” Jacksons voice flowed through the phone.

“Hello to you too Jackson.” You laughed.

“Y/N get your laptop and go look at the most recent upload.”

You sighed but headed into your room to grab your laptop. You opened it noticing that it was already turned on from the last time you used it. You really needed to remember to shut it down. You launched chrome and went to Bangtan’s official YouTube page. You see a Bangtan Bomb that was posted a few hours ago. “The Bangtan bomb?” you asked.

“Yeah.”

You clicked on it and watched the video of Jimin and Tae joking around. “What am I looking for exactly?”

“Look behind them.”

You shifted your gaze up and saw the exact moment that JK had pulled you closer to him and was he was looking down at you. The two of you had thought you were out of frame but it seemed that you weren’t and now there you were in intimate proximity of an idol. “Ah, shit.”

“First thing I want to say is for the love of god just get together already because apparently ARMY wasn’t paying attention to Jimin and V, they’re pointing out Jungkook and the mystery girl. You’re lucky that it’s far enough away that you can’t tell it’s you.” Jackson immediately spit out.

You bit your lip and scrolled down to the comments and there were already over 500 comments. Some of the comments were about Jimin and Tae, but the others were about you and JK. Some of them were commenting about how JK looked at you and that they would give anything to be you. With the positive comments came the negative comments and you couldn’t believe what some of the people were saying.

“Y/N get out of the comment section.” Jackson said softly. He knew you well enough to know that you would instantly scroll down to see what people had to say.

This situation was one that you weren’t ready for and you were hoping you would never have to deal with. No one knew that you were the girl in the picture, but you also knew that people would try to start figuring it out. You didn’t want anything to affect Bangtan’s career especially JK’s all because of you. You had read that a lot of idols lose fans when they start dating someone. You and JK aren’t dating but even you had to admit from outside perspective that it looked like you were dating each other just because of the body language. You sighed and leaned back against the headboard of your bed.

“It’s not bad Y/N. I just wanted to make sure you knew so you weren’t caught off guard. The only reason I even knew was because a few tweets crossed over my timeline and I watched the short clip and it was focused on you and Jungkook.” He sighed, “Are you okay? Do I need to come over?”

“No. I’m fine. I’m just processing everything, but I need to go. I’ll talk to you later.” You hung up the phone without waiting for a reply. You were now in territory you had made clear that you wanted no part of. Big Hit had asked for stuff like this not to happen and yet the both of you let it happen. You were really worried about what would come of all of this.

Jungkook was sitting in his room leaning back in his computer chair to stare at the ceiling. He had been sitting like this for the past two hours trying to process the information that was given today. Had this happened months ago he would probably be more excited than he was right now. He felt bad because he knew he should be more excited but other thoughts plagued his mind. He heard a knock at the door but the person on the other side didn’t wait to be invited in.

“You’re going to have to stop sulking Jungkookie. It’s not the end of the world.” Jimin leaned against the door frame.

“I know it’s not, but going on tour for months doesn’t sound as appealing as it used to. Plus that leaves her here wi-”

“With Jackson?” Jimin interrupted and got a glare in response.

“That’s not what I was going to say.”

“Doesn’t make it any less true.” he shrugged.

“Did you come here to make me feel better or piss me off? I’m just curious.” Jungkook was now sitting up in the chair fully facing his best friend.

“Technically neither. Look all I was going to say is that maybe you should just talk to her.” Jimin hated seeing Jungkook struggle as much as he was, especially since he’d never seen him be this way about any girl before.

Jungkook groaned, “I just got her back. I don’t want to risk her cutting me out again.”

Jimin rolled his eyes, “Wow for knowing her so well you don’t give her much credit. Even I know she wouldn’t do that, so what’s this really about?”

He chewed on his lip debating on whether to truly open up about everything because he still hadn’t figured it out himself. “Like I said, I just got her back but my worry isn’t her cutting me out. It’s my life cutting her out that I'm worried about. I never really gave any of it much thought before because I didn’t have to worry about anyone else. Now everything I do I'm thinking about how it would affect her or what she would want to do. The thought of being away for months and not seeing her just gives me this awful feeling in my chest.” his hand subconsciously started rubbing against his sternum.

Jimin felt for him because everyone’s first love was always the hardest and Jungkook was having to go through it during the rise of his career. “I’m sure Bang would let her come visit us on tour or something.”

He shook his head, “No he’s already said he’s taking a risk.”

“But did you ask this specific question? I mean he’s letting her go with you when we’re filming for the Run episodes. He’s allowed her to go to smaller appearances, but if you want even a chance of you getting to see her on tour then ask. The worse he can say is no.” he watched Jungkook nod with his eyes cast down. Jimin knew this probably wasn’t the time to ask but he needed to know where the youngest members head was at. “What are you going to do when she has to go back home?”

Jungkook’s eyes quickly met his and Jimin could see the worry in his eyes, “I try not to think about it. I want to talk about it with her but every time it’s come up I quickly change the subject because I'm scared to hear what she’s gonna say. I know she can’t stay here forever but I don’t want an ocean between us. I don’t even like when there’s a room between us, and yes I know how pathetic that sounds.”

Jimin walked into his room and closed the door behind him and moved some things around so he could sit down because he was sure this conversation may last a while. “I know you think long distance relationships are doomed to fail, but not every relationship is the same.”

“I’m pretty sure this is different than most long-distance relationships.”

He nodded, “You’re right, it is. But I know you don’t like to lose so I'm sure you’d do anything you could to make it last. If not, there will be others later on that live in the same country as you do.”

“I don’t want anyone here, I want her.”

“Then tell her that. ” Jimin huffed, “The both of you are skirting around each other it’s driving us all insane. We know you like each other, even a blind person would be able to tell. You’re practically dating, the only thing your lacking is a title. At this point, we’re all waiting to walk in on you two, which if you do decide to do anything of the sort please shoot us a message to let us know not to come home.”

“It’s not that simple, we’ve had this conversation.”

“The last time we had it she didn’t know who you were and now she does.”

“We’re about to go on tour, I’d be a dick if I asked her to be my girlfriend and then flew around the globe for months without seeing her.” Jungkook felt like he was going in the same circle with Jimin and he just wasn’t understanding that it wasn’t as black and white as Jimin was trying to portray.

“Look, just try and talk to Bang. It can’t hurt to ask Jungkookie, because what if you never asked but he would have said it was fine. You’ll be kicking yourself later if you don’t at least ask.” Jungkook nodded, “Look we all like her, she’s great and I've never seen someone mesh so well with you like she does. She brings out a side of you we never got to see and you look happy, so don’t let this pass by just because you won’t ask a simple question.”

“Okay I'll ask.” he finally relented because Jimin had a point even though he wouldn’t admit it. “But I still don’t know how to tell her about the tour.”

“Don’t worry about that now. Just spend the time you can with her because it doesn’t matter how it turns out as long as you’ve spent today with her. We’ve been in meetings all day and had practice for part of it. So go see her because honestly, you’re depressing me with your mopey demeanor.” Jimin grabbed a jacket hanging off to the side and tossed it into his lap, “Now go, just remember we have an early practice so if you don’t come home at least set an alarm.”

“Really hyung?” Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh.

“Hey, you’ve done it before. Seriously, go see your girl.” he stood up and opened the door and left.

Jungkook sat in his chair debating if he should follow Jimin’s advice or not. He really did want to see Y/N because he hadn’t talked to her much since he had been in meetings for most of the day. After they were told they would be getting ready to go on tour he hadn’t looked at his phone because he was still trying to process the fact that he may not see her for months. He didn’t know how he was ever going survive if she moved back to America. He was in too deep with her and the thought of not getting to see her every day upset him more than he thought it would.

It wasn’t news to him that he was in love with her, but sometimes it still surprised him by just how much he did. It made him nervous because he’d never felt this vulnerable with anyone before but he couldn’t help but feel the way he did towards her. He tried so long to fight it and at some point, he couldn’t anymore, not when he kept getting insanely jealous every time he would call her and she was with Jackson. He didn’t have issues with Jackson, not really, but he envied that Jackson could be with her without any restrictions.

Jungkook grabbed his jacket and slipped it on. He grabbed his keys and turned off the light before heading towards the front door. When he came out into the living room he saw Jimin and Tae sitting there with a movie going. Jimin had a huge smile on his face and held his hand out in front of Tae.

“I don’t have cash on me now so you’ll have to wait.”

“You guys are betting on me again? Seriously?” it seemed to be a common occurrence now that he hung out with Y/N so much and they enjoyed teasing him way too much.

“I’m saving us all from Tae buying anymore Gucci.” Jungkook laughed and walked away when the two started arguing. He closed the door and walked towards the elevator. Despite not knowing how to tell Y/N about the tour he was going to take his hyung’s advice and just enjoy today with her because it was the one thing he was promised.

You looked at the building and then back at your phone making sure that you had the correct place. JK had begged you to come to one of their tapings of some weekly series they did. He had sent you the address and you had given it to the Uber driver, but now you were second guessing the address since you were standing in front of something that looked almost like a small warehouse. You pulled out your phone and decided that calling him would be the better option before letting the driver leave. You put up a finger to ask him for a second and you dialed JK’s number.

“Hello beautiful, are you here?”

Your face flushed, “Umm. I think so? Does it look almost like a warehouse?”

“Yup! I’ll meet you at the big red door to let you in.” he hung up and you put your phone away and gave the driver a thumbs up and he pulled away leaving you there and hoping that JK was telling the truth and you were in the right spot. You saw a door open on the side of the building and a mop of brown hair appeared around the side of the door. He waved you over signaling you to follow him inside.

Once you got to the door he wrapped an arm around you and pulled you into a hug and dropping a quick kiss on the top of your head. It seemed to be a normal occurrence now, so you didn’t become as flustered like you did in the beginning. But there was no denying that it still made your heart race. You’d really fucked up the whole ‘don’t catch feelings’ thing, but you really didn’t care because as long as he was in your life you were happy. He put his hand on your lower back and ushered you through a hallway and you walked up into a huge area painted in blinding white. Whoever designed for Big Hit had a thing for white.

“So what exactly is all of this? You were pretty vague when I asked questions.” you glanced up at him and he shot you a cute smile.

“I didn’t really have specifics, but basically we get together every week to film a small webisode for our fans. Each week we do something different and since this will take up a majority of my day, I wanted to see you. Since I can bring you with me to some things I decided to take advantage of it.” You shook your head smiling. It had only been yesterday that you had met with Bang PD and JK was given the okay on letting you come around to things. JK, like always, didn’t waste any time.

“So you’re dressed up….why?”

He shrugged, “They hand me clothes and I put them on, I don’t really ask questions. They do a pretty good job at making us look good.” he leaned in to whisper in your ear, “but on occasion they put us in really weird shit and we have to shut up and deal with it.”

“Well you look good,” you blushed when you saw Jimin walk up beside JK.

“What about me? Do I not look good?” he gave you a teasing smile.

“You all look good Jimin.” you laughed.

All of them were dressed in dress pants and a button down while some had ties JK had a bowtie. You could say with complete confidence that they looked really good. You wanted to find the stylists and thank her on behalf of all of their fans because...damn.

“But I look the best right?” he put his arm around JK and looked at him and then looked to you.

“Isn’t that like choosing a favorite child?”

“I’ll take that as a yes.” He patted JK roughly on the back and JK elbowed him in the stomach causing him to grunt in pain but still laugh. “Glad you’re here Y/N, he can stop complaining now.” he quipped before walking off.

You raised an eyebrow at him and moved your gaze to JK, “I saw you yesterday.” you bit your lip to keep from laughing.

“Your point?” he asked shamelessly. You shook your head at him but couldn’t help but smile, “but really...i look better than all of them, right?” you rolled your eyes.

“Yes JK, you look the best. I’m pretty sure most of the fans will have fantasies about you after watching today’s episode.” your face flushed crimson when you realized what you said.

“Oh really? I must ask...are you a fan?” he was smirking and the urge to cover your face and curl into a ball was prevalent as he stepped closer to you.

“All members need to come to the floor so we can start shooting.” you heard someone say through what sounded like a megaphone.

“Duty calls.” you said in relief of not having to continue that conversation.

He grabbed your hand and brought you towards the area where the camera’s were set up. Someone walked over and did a quick fix of his hair and touched up his makeup. “I set up a chair over there if you wanna sit, but stay out of trouble and don’t wander off.”

“Yes sir.” you said mockingly. His eyebrows shot up in surprise and you realized exactly what you said and realized that he would take it in a sexual manner. His dirty mind was in overdrive lately. “Sorry guess it’s the power of you in a suit.”

He cleared his throat and avoided eye contact. He placed a quick kiss on your head and pointed towards the seat. You smirked knowing that you’d made him flustered. It was nice to be the one causing it instead of being the one doing it. You walked to the chair and sat down. You watched the guys as they all stood there around a small tables with cups of water. The producer told everyone to be quiet and explained the premise of the episode. They would be doing different things but the first would be holding water in their mouth while the others tried to get the person to spit out the water. He made sure to comment that almost everything was fair game within reason.

Jungkook went first so he sat in the chair and filled his mouth with water. All the boys seemed to be very excited to be able to torture their maknae. The boys tried everything to get him to spit out the water, they tried tickling him and even tried pulling him off the chair. By the end of it the producer called it and JK looked accomplished. Jimin was pointing at you and saying something to the director but you couldn’t quite hear it. Jimin started waving you over and you noticed the camera’s stopped rolling. You were confused but walked over to the group anyways.

“Y/N, do you think you could make Jungkookie spit out the water?”

“Ummm….what?”

“Well we all tried and we’ve made a wager. Jungkookie has agreed that if he spits out the water at whatever you try he has to take a punishment. He doesn’t think you’ll be able to, but the rest of us disagree.”

“Hmmm...what's the punishment?” You couldn’t help but be intrigued, you knew the both of you were competitive. JK was more competitive than you but you felt pretty confident that you could make him spit out the water.

“The hyungs have decided that if he loses, he has to come clean on some song writing.” JK’s semi cocky demeanor changed at the mention of their punishment. He was glaring at them but none of them paid it any attention.

You’d been asking him about the new album and all he would tell you is that they were finishing it up and that he helped write some of the songs. So you agreed, “Sure. I’ll try.”

JK looked at you determined and you could feel the competitiveness radiating around him. “So you don’t think I can make you spit it out?” He shook his head and you walked around to the back of the chair and rested your arm on his shoulder as you leaned down, “Are you sure?”

JK nodded and you smirked to yourself thinking back to a bit ago on what got him flustered. You bit your lip and cupped your hand and put your mouth by his ear so only the two of you would be able to hear what you were about to say, “Based off our conversation earlier, do you like it when I call you sir?” you felt your cheeks flush a little bit.

JK spit out the water and started coughing and you couldn’t help but feel a little accomplished at being able to do something his hyungs couldn’t. The other members were laughing while Jimin and Tae were hanging on each other they were laughing so hard while the others were clapping while they continued to laugh.

You bent down beside JK since he was still coughing, “Are you okay?” you were genuinely worried.

“You’re evil.” he was able to get out between coughing fits.

“I have to know what she said.” Hobi called out from beside the two of you.

“No you don’t.” JK was able to catch his breath as his coughing fits came to an end.

“Oh yes we do.” Tae said once he was able to stop laughing.

“You lost within seconds, I really need to know.” Jimin said as he was bent down beside you with his elbow resting on your shoulder.

JK didn’t answer them he just got out of the chair and walked away and grabbed a paper towel and started cleaning off what water did get on him. You chewed on your lip thinking maybe you’d gone too far and pissed him off. “He’s fine, don’t worry. He’ll thank us later.” Yoongi said softly from behind you. You turned to look at him, “whatever you said, I can assure you he’s not mad at you.” It took you off guard hearing him talk like that. You hadn’t had much interaction with him and he seemed a little distant so you thought maybe he wasn’t that accepting of the idea. Maybe you misread him and he’s not like that at all.

You felt a warm hand against your lower back and looked over to see JK standing beside you. Yoongi apparently felt like that was his cue to leave so he gave you a quick smile and turned to go to the others. You turned fully to face JK, “I’m so sorry if that was too far. I wasn’t really thinking about everyone else being around. I didn’t even think I could get you to s--”

He grabbed your face and you abruptly stopped talking, “I’m not mad.” he dropped his hands now that he had your attention. “I just wasn’t expecting you to say something like that. I have to do the penalty and I wish the hyungs would stop meddling, but I'm not mad. I could never be mad at you.” You wrapped your arms around his middle and he gave you a tight hug before letting go. “But I do need to get back to shooting, everyone’s waiting on me.”

You nodded and he completely dropped his hold on you and you walked back to your seat. You watched the rest of filming and when they boys did get breaks JK would come over to talk to you and most of the guys followed and you would all talk until they were called to start filming again. You enjoyed watching it and sometimes your stomach hurt from laughing so hard, and the fact that you had to try and keep yourself from making any noise made it hurt even more. The producer yelled cut and that they were done filming for the day. Everyone clapped and even though the boys were rushing to leave they still made sure to be polite and bow to everyone who bowed to them.

JK walked out from the room they had off to the side after changing and he was dressed in jeans a black shirt and a beanie…the beanie that you bought him. The other members followed behind him and he smiled at you when he got closer. “So my schedules are done until tomorrow, wanna go to the river with me?”

It was now dark out and the temperature outside was probably a little cooler than before and you weren’t wearing a heavy jacket since you knew you’d be inside. “I didn’t bring a thicker jacket.”

“It’s okay, I’m pretty sure I have another hoodie in my managers car.” You nodded and said okay as the others walked up beside him.

“We’re headed back to the dorms...well most of us. Yoongi is headed to his studio.” Jimin looked at you, “It was fun having you here Y/N, I can truly say that things have gotten better with you around.”

You fought a blush that was trying to creep up, “Thanks.”

Jimin turned to JK, “We expect a report from your punishment.” JK didn’t say anything he just closed his eyes and took a deep breath before nodding.

Everyone left leaving you and JK standing there, “Ready to go?” he asked.

You nodded and he put his arm around you and the two of you headed to his managers car. JK handed you the hoodie that was in his managers car. You slipped off the light jacket you had and pulled the hoodie over your head. It was a little big on you but not by much. JK’s eyes lingered before requesting an Uber. He slipped his mask on and you felt a sense of  nostalgia. He had taken you to the river the first night you met him. It was crazy to think that was months ago and everything that had happened since then.

The two of you stood outside and he stood behind you with his arms wrapped around your shoulders and his chin resting on your head. “You really are the perfect height. I don’t even have to hold my head up, you can do it for me.”

You stepped away quickly causing his head to dip down in surprise. You smirked and he just grabbed the sleeve of the hoodie and pulled you back to his chest and rested his chin on your head again, “see, perfect.” he gave you a light squeeze and you couldn’t help but lean back into him.

The Uber picked the both of you up and took you to the Han River. You tried to convince JK to let you pay half the fare but he laughed you off and just grabbed your arm pulling you to him because you weren’t watching where you were talking and almost walked into someone. You sighed at his stubbornness. “I’m capable of helping JK, you don’t have to pay for everything. I’m not expecting you to start paying for everything because of your status.”

He stopped walking and pulled you from the walkway so the two of you weren’t blocking it. “First off, I don’t think you do. I’m doing it because I can and because I want to. So stop being so sensitive about me thinking that you’re using me, because I know you aren’t.”

You huffed, “Of course I'm sensitive about it. I don’t want you ever thinking that because it’s not like that.”

“I know.” he put both hands on your shoulders so you would look directly at him, “You almost completely cut me out because of who I am and what I do. If that doesn’t scream ‘I’m not using you’ then I don’t know what does.” you nodded mutely. “Come on.”

He put his arm around you and the two of you walked along the river. You pulled the hood up because of the light breeze and JK pulled you closer trying to keep you warm. You walked in a comfortable silence, although JK did seem to be more fidgety than normal. You put your hand over his because he kept messing with the fabric on your shoulder, “Hey. You okay?”

He nodded, “Let’s take a seat up here.” he nodded towards a secluded area, the same area from the first night. You had no idea what was going on but you said okay and the two of you took a seat away from the few people that were actually there. He pulled up his hood and looked at you for a moment before saying anything.

“So the penalty from today was to talk to you about songs I've written, well more specifically a certain song.” he let the statement hang there.

“Okay?” you weren’t sure if he was waiting for you to say something or if he got lost in thought.

“We’ve talked about a lot of things, but I'm still very guarded about some things and I don’t want to be. When I have problems saying something I normally write lyrics. I find that I do this a lot when it comes to you because I have so many things I want to say that are difficult for me. I suck at conveying my feelings just like I suck at talking about them. I don’t normally have that problem with you but there are some things that are just hard to put into words or I'm not ready to talk about them yet and writing lyrics helps me with that. Who I was before you is different than who I am now.”

You didn’t take your eyes off him because you knew that whatever this was about had him nervous and he was opening up in a different way than he normally did with you. The two of you spent many nights talking until the early hours of the next morning and just when you think you know everything you could about JK he surprises you with something new.

“When I came to Seoul I was young and I knew what I wanted to do. So I worked really hard, I was constantly at the studio practicing or squeezing in voice lessons when I could. My love for music and performing kept me going for the longest time, but that was all I ever did. That first night we met you broke me out of my constant cycle. My plan was to go to practice and then practice for a few more hours after everyone else left. But for some reason, this girl I had just met made me want to break this cycle I had been in for so long. Each time I hung out with you I wanted to hang out with you again and for even longer.”

JK took a deep breath and continued, “You interrupted a cycle that people saw from me for years. I slowed down some, I wasn’t spending all of my time at the studio. Instead I would go see you and even though we couldn’t really go out and do things that much it was still the highlight of my day every time I saw you. When you live with the same guys for as long as we’ve lived together they notice things and my demeanor changed. When I finally took the mask off and was able to share more of myself with you it was so overwhelming and things only got better. You were the one thing I looked forward to. Performances used to be the one thing I looked forward to, and I still do look forward to them but not like I how I look forward to time with you.”

You felt your cheeks heat up but you didn’t want to interrupt anything so you didn’t move, you let your cheeks redden and continued to listen, “Before you found out about who I was I was sitting in my room one night after hanging out with you and started thinking back to how things were before you. I was on autopilot and almost like I was dead inside, I became so focused on my goals that I never let myself be distracted and it came to be a very isolating lifestyle. You changed that, suddenly it would feel so lonely when you weren’t around. It always felt wrong when I didn’t see you for that day. You saved me from so many things and I didn’t know how to say it, so I wrote it. I wrote the lyrics to ‘Save Me’.” It took a minute for your brain to catch up to the last bit of what he said. The song that you loved so much, was written about you. You were trying to make sense of it all. “And since my hyung’s like to meddle they’d been pushing me to tell you for awhile.”

“Wow…” you were speechless, which didn’t happen often. “I’m not really sure what to say.” you felt yourself getting emotional for a lot of different reasons. This was the most open he’d ever been with you. Knowing the lyrics of the song and hearing that it was about you made you chest ache, but in a good way. You couldn’t really form words so you just wrapped your arms around him and he pulled you closely before laying back and taking you with him. You both laid there in silence and you could hear his heart hammering in his chest. You knew he was probably dying for you to say something.

You bit your lip and closed your eyes, “You changed a lot of things for me. I didn’t really expect much in coming here. I thought that I would experience Seoul and probably go back home in a month, but here I am months later and I'm still not sure when I'll go back. When we started hanging out more I became hesitant because I was becoming so close with someone that would end up oceans away when I went back home. But even with that being said, I didn’t like not seeing you. It came to the point that the apartment felt weird if you weren’t there, even when you’d only visit a few hours and then leave. You’ve become this staple in my life and I wouldn’t change it for anything. When making decisions or plans, you come to mind. Whether it's deciding what to get from the grocery store, to if I want to go to a movie with Jackson or not because you’ll be free in a few hours. Jackson even knows he takes a back seat to you, and it feels awful to agree with it, but it’s true and it’s been that way for awhile. When I found out who you were a large part of me needing time was trying to figure out how I would fit into your life like that. Suddenly it wasn’t just me and you, I was sharing you with a whole fandom and it freaked me out. I know your fans mean everything to you and what if somehow they found out about us being friends and they didn’t like it, would you drop me? I--”

“No.” he cut you off. “I wouldn't drop you. Yes I love my fans, but I would hope that they would take my happiness into consideration and see that you make me happy.”

This kind of gives an idea to where both of their heads are at, but a JK POV is probably coming up soon i’m just not sure where i want to place it yet. Summary: You never expected your trip to Seoul to end up like it does. You didn’t expect to step off the plane and have coffee pour down your shirt. You also didn’t expect the guy to offer to show you around the city. You notice things about him that don’t quite make sense, like how he shows interest but will only see you when he has the time which is at random hours during the day and night. Who knew your only friend in Seoul would turn out to be an international star and just how difficult things could get.

“I honestly can’t believe you’ve been hanging out with Jungkook for months. How could you not know? They’re everywhere right now. Seriously, how?” the only other friend you had in Seoul asked from your couch while you rolled your eyes as you walked back with a drink.

“I don’t know, I haven’t really watched TV and its not like I’ve gone on naver and typed in BTS. When we met all he really told me is about dance and it never crossed my mind that when he was talking about a studio that it was a recording studio.” You handed him the drink as you sat down on your couch.

“So did your talk go well?” he partially changed the subject which you were grateful for. The thought of him being a celebrity was still a weird concept and you still hadn’t figured out exactly how you felt about the whole thing. It made you nervous because, truthfully, had you known you probably would have never hung out with him. You felt bad admitting that, even if it was to yourself.

“Yeah, he explained a lot of things. I feel bad about not talking to him because it apparently really messed with him.”

“Oh it did. I was curious so I went on YouTube and they post these things called bangtan bombs which is pretty much videos of random things like them getting ready for award shows and stuff. Anyways I–”

“Please tell me you aren’t going to be that person? If you want to fanboy, please don’t do it around me. This is still really weird for me.”

“Anyways,” he proceeded, “Like I was saying, they post these bangtan bombs. I was morbidly curious to see if anything had been posted in the week you two didn’t talk to see if what he said was true. They did, and he wasn’t lying about it messing with him.” He opened his soda and took a drink.

“What are you talking about?” you had no idea what he was saying. You hadn’t searched him or his group on anything yet. You weren’t even sure you wanted to.

Jackson pulled out his phone and started typing, you rolled your eyes at him ignoring your question. But it seemed he hadn’t been ignoring your question, he had pulled up a YouTube video and handed it to you. “Just watch it.”

You bit your lip, because if you watched this you were opening pandora’s box and having to accept the fact your best friend was famous, which in turn made the boy you liked famous. You took a deep breath and pressed play, your eyes flicked up to look at Jackson who was looking at the TV to give you privacy without him watching your reaction. You turned down the volume when the video started because the background noise was really loud. They seemed to be backstage somewhere because it looked like some people were getting their makeup and hair done. You watched the frenzy and how the camera was just filming them goofing around. Your heart sank when JK finally came up on the screen. He looked horrible to you but to anyone else he would seem put together, but you could see the dark circles under his eyes and how exhausted he looked.

“Jungkookie…” a member sat down beside him and grabbed his phone which pulled out the earbuds he had in his ears. “I’m confiscating this. You staring at it every five seconds and isn’t going to magically cause them to reply to you because you keep looking.” the member stood up and JK was standing up with him to grab it back.

“Hyung, give me my phone.” his voice was low.

Jimin happen to grab the attention from the camera but you could still see JK arguing with the person who took his phone in the background. You watched as one of the taller members came up to the two of them and he had put a hand on JK’s shoulder and started talking to him.

You felt so awful as you watched him fight with someone he considered a brother. You weren’t even listening to what Jimin was saying on camera, your eyes were trained on JK. Eventually the other member handed him the phone and the two of them talked to him. JK seemed irritated but listened anyways as they talked to him. A few seconds later he walked past them and out of frame. You heard the door slam and you paused the video after that, you didn’t want to see anymore. You handed Jackson his phone back.

“I get your point Jackson.” you said begrudgingly.

“He may be famous Y/N but he’s still human. Doesn’t change who he is, so stop being so hesitant. Your friendship is obviously something he takes seriously, so stop thinking that it’s different just because people know who he is.” He took the phone back and set it on the coffee table. You wish you hadn’t talked to Jackson about everything.

“Why are you even pushing this? You used to bitch about him, don’t think I don’t remember the two of you always complaining about the other.”

“Because I was into you Y/N. I liked you and I couldn’t garner even one percent of the attention you gave him, but eventually I saw what you felt for him and it was easy to let go after that because I saw that he felt the exact same way.”

You just sat there and blinked. You remember JK mentioning that Jackson liked you but you waved it off because he was just your friend. You acknowledged the fact that Jackson was insanely attractive and he was the exact type you went for back home. But he was right, you’d always had JK on your mind and Jackson had never been on  your radar. “Jackson I–”

“Hey it’s fine. The feelings are gone and I’m perfectly fine just being friends. I’d rather have you as a friend than not have you at all.” he gave you one of his bright smiles and you felt some of the guilt lift and you smiled back at him. “But you two really need to admit your feelings to each other, it’s just painful to listen to you two deny it.”

“We’re just friends!” you exclaimed and huffed.

“Sure you are.” he rolled his eyes, “Anyways, stop keeping him at a distance and just accept that it’s part of his life. You’re not a part of it, you’re separate from his ‘famous’ life. Stop being a pansy. He invited you to meet the rest of the group, people that are important to him just like he is to you.”

“Did you just guilt trip me?”

“A little, did it work?” he smiled at you and you just glared at him. He was right, the rest of them were important to him and he was important to you. You sighed and the both of you acknowledged that you were going to agree to meet the rest of the members.

“Fine.” you grabbed your phone and opened up your texts. He had finally given you his number in case you needed to call him and it felt oddly intimate at the time. You pulled up the text message you had gotten from him asking if you would be willing to meet everyone. You typed back a quick reply letting him know that you would. Not even two minutes later you got a reply with a smiley face and a promise to call you after they finished up at the studio.

Despite Jackson being insanely blunt and calling you out on your shit you still took the time to talk to him about everything because you were still trying to sort out your feelings about everything. JK had given you the okay to talk to him about things but to not discuss anything about the other members. He was trusting Jackson because you trusted Jackson and he had promised he wouldn’t say anything. You knew Jackson wouldn’t, because he wasn’t that type of person, but it felt good that JK trusted you.

About an hour after Jackson had left JK called you, you felt nervous which was absurd. “Hey.”

“Hey!” his voice was cheerful and he seemed really happy which made you smile.

“How was practice?”

“Good, tiring as usual. Hey would you be willing to come to the studio to meet everyone? We’re all too tired to go out to eat so we ordered in here at the studio.” He sounded hopeful.

“Yeah sure I guess so.” When JK had originally brought up the topic you had been against going out to get food with them but JK had mentioned that until the members felt comfortable enough they would prefer you not to come to the dorms, which you understood, so your only option was to go eat somewhere.

“Awesome, when the Uber picks you up just tell them to bring you to the address I just text you.” His excitement helped ease your anxiety just a little bit.

You had text JK as soon as the Uber had pulled into the parking lot in the back. You thanked the driver and got out to wait by the door. You jumped when the door opened with your nerves on edge. The person that opened the door hadn’t been JK, but Jimin.

“Hey Y/N. Jungkookie had me watch his phone in case you text while he ran to the upstairs really quick.” He opened the door wider so you could step inside. You slipped past him and stood awkwardly in the hall as you waited for him to close the door.

He gave you a smile and started down the hallway. Before you reached the door you put your hand on his arm and he stopped walking to look at you.  You dropped your hand quickly, you didn’t know Jimin that well but he was the only person you had actually met. “Everyone’s okay with me being here right? I don’t want to cause anything.”

“Hey, I’m not sure what Jungkook has told you but no one is mad. Everyone was mostly shocked because he avoids girls like the plague. We’ve all talked and everyone agreed that they wanted to meet you. He wouldn’t ask you to come here if we didn’t.” He gave you a comforting smile and you nodded but didn’t say anything. He continued to lead the way and opened the door to the practice room you had been in only once before.

When you walked in you saw five people sitting on the floor talking with food cartons spread out around them and it seemed everyone was sharing. You noticed that there were only five people in the room excluding you and Jimin which means that JK hadn’t finished whatever he was doing and you were in a room with six people you didn’t even know. You wrapped your arms around your middle feeling uncomfortable. “We don’t bite.” Jimin leaned in and whispered. You could tell he was trying to make you feel better but truthfully you were mildly freaking out.

“Oh hey!” the voice made you jump but it gave you instant comfort, “I was hoping I’d be done before you got here.” you turned to face him and he was smiling bigger than you had ever seen. While his presence made your anxiety reduce it also alerted everyone else in the room that you were here. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. You felt someone tilt your chin up and you opened your eyes to see JK looking down at you. “They don’t bite Y/N.”

“The fact that both you and Jimin said that is making me think otherwise.” You mumbled and JK laughed. He grabbed your hand and led you over to the group who had gone back to talk among themselves but you could tell all were aware you were there but seemed to be doing the best they could to make you feel more at ease.

“Okay so to make this easy,” He was now standing behind you and rested his chin on your head and had his arms around your shoulders and let you lean back into him. “We’ll go oldest to youngest, informally, since I’ve kind of talked but without names. So Jin is the old man who is sitting with five cartons of food in front him. Next is Yoongi who while looks intimidating is actually a softy.”

“We live in the same house, you realize that right?” He pointed at JK who just laughed.

“Then there’s Namjoon, he’s the leader of our group and can’t dance for shit.”

“Hey! Why didn’t Jin hyung get that description too?” he cried out and you bit your lip to try not to laugh.

“You should practice more instead of rapping.” he argued and everyone laughed.

“Then we have Hoseok our main dancer and entirely too perky.”

“I resent that.” he said with a mouth full of food.

“Next is Jimin, who you’ve already met.” Jimin gave you a small wave with a smile. “Last is Taehyung who I’ve talked to you about before, and then there’s me…your favorite. All of you know this is Y/N so let’s eat.”

JK pulled you down to the floor to sit to eat making you sit beside him. He reached over and grabbed a styrofoam container and handed it to you. Kimchi fried rice was written across the top and your stomach growled in anticipation. He handed you chopsticks while you opened it and started eating. The atmosphere was laid back and everyone talked among themselves, on occasion they would ask you a question or try and involve you in the conversation. By the end of it you had had an ongoing conversation with Hoseok and Jimin both. The three of you had gotten wrapped up in a conversation about dance, which you weren’t surprised considering the both of them were on something called the dance line with JK.

“Jungkookie actually brought her here to dance a few weeks back. From the little I saw she’s pretty good.” Jimin said to Hoseok, who told you to just call him Hobi.

He raised his eyebrows at this and looked at you and JK, “He brought you here? Wow, he must really like you then.” he joked and it looked like JK’s ears were turning red.

He coughed and continued the conversation in a different direction and told them about your extensive dancing background. You and Jimin had both studied some of the same types of dance and while you didn’t have any of the same background as Hobi you were seriously impressed when JK brought out his phone and showed you a video of the two of them dancing. You weren’t just in awe of Hobi, but you couldn’t take your eyes off JK. After talking with Jimin and Hobi you felt more relaxed and you were integrated into a conversation with everyone after awhile without even realizing it.

You ended up telling the story of just how you and JK had met, “I ended up having to throw out my favorite shirt because there was no way I was going to be able to get that coffee stain out.”

“I offered to replace it, and she told me no.”

Yoongi was shaking his head, “If you wanted her number so bad you could have asked, no reason to risk third degree burns. I’m sure she would have given it to you.”

“Meh.” you shrugged in response which made everyone laugh.

“She was the one that agreed to let me show her around Seoul that same night. She’s reckless I tell you. She even fell asleep by the Han River by herself, at night.”

This caused everyone’s eyes to land on you and you felt yourself turn red, “In my defense it wasn’t like I was trying to, I was still jet lagged!” you argued and elbowed JK in the chest with a glare.

“You left a message with the front desk if I called, I didn’t even know where you were. I found you out of pure luck.” he rubbed his chest.

“Well I didn’t exactly have your number to let you know.” you argued.

“Okay you two, geez already arguing like an old married couple.” Jin said and everyone laughed while the both of you turned a slight shade of pink.

“Let’s clean up and run through Silver Spoon one more time since Namjoon Hyung keeps messing up.”

“If all of you keep throwing me under the bus about dancing I’ll kick you all out of the group and find a new dance line.” he threatened jokingly.

Everyone started picking things up and throwing them away. You bent down to help and grabbed the last of it and walking over to the trash can on the other side of the studio. You dropped it all in the trash and Namjoon walked up beside you.

“Hey,” he got your attention, “I’m glad you decided to come. It was nice to put a face to a name and I can see why he trusted you. You’ve managed to bring out a side in him we rarely see and it’s been good for him. You mean a lot to him, so can you promise me something?”

You were confused but nodded, “Yeah sure.”

“If there’s ever a misunderstanding or an issue between you two that you’ll talk it out. I’m not sure anyone can blame you on how you reacted, especially how you found out, but he’s not one to let people in easily and it was a rough week for everyone when he thought he may lose you.”

Your face turned bright red at the mention of you not talking to him and the scene from the video popped into your head, “It was never intentional to hurt him or make him worry. I told him I just needed time to process everything. It was a lot to take in.”

Namjoon put his hand up to stop you and smiled, “You don’t have to explain, like I said no one blames you. I’m just asking that if anything ever happens that you try and at least talk it out.”

You nodded mutely and he smiled at you before walking away to join the others. You stayed there for a moment closed your eyes while taking a deep breath before letting it out slowly. You knew the conversation about last week would come up eventually, but you had let your guard down over it so it caught you off guard and guilt weighed on your chest.

You shook off the emotions and decided that you would deal with it later, that you weren’t in a position to start dealing with those emotions. You walked back over towards everyone and grabbed your phone to get ready to say bye to everyone.

“Hey where are you going?” You heard JK’s voice as he came up beside you his hand going to rest on your lower back.

“Home? You guys need to practice, remember?”

“And that means you have to go home why?” You looked at him completely confused, he just sighed. “Stay? Please. I’d like you to at least see a practice.” The both of you knew you wouldn’t be able to say no so he smiled when he heard you sigh, “There’s a hammock chair over there.” he pointed by the stereo.

You sat down on the ground not even attempting to try and gracefully sit in that hammock and you watched as they joked around before getting into a formation, “Hey Y/N, could you press play?” Hobi yelled from across the room. You stood up and looked over the stereo attempting to track down the play button. Once you saw it you pressed play and sat back down on the floor. You took your phone out idly checking messages and replied to your parents even though they were asleep. You grabbed your drink from the floor and took a sip glancing over to watch the choreography. As soon as Hobi, Jimin, and JK did their hip thrust you started coughing not expecting that move at all. You set the drink down and kept coughing and some of the guys started laughing. Once you were able to stop coughing you slid down onto the floor and pulled the hood of your hoodie over your face.

You felt your hood slowly being pulled back. JK was standing over you with a foot on either side of your body. He was leaning over with an amused look on his face, “You’re an asshole.” you mumbled and pulled your hood back down. You now understood why he wanted you to stay, and it was an evil move on his part. You couldn’t get the image out of your head even though you begged whatever higher being their was to make it go away. JK pulled your hood back again and he was still smiling, “I’m never talking to you again.” you pulled the hood back down covering your face even further causing it to expose a small part of your stomach. You felt your hoodie being tugged down before pulling at the hood again, only this time you saw Hobi and Jimin there. The other two offenders. “All three of you are dead to me.”

AN: So i honestly didn’t expect to get this out as fast, but everyone’s excitement over pt 11 got me excited so i was able to write this pretty quickly and effortlessly. I hope you all enjoyed the first meeting of reader and Bangtan. Don’t worry if the reader didn’t interact with some people, i promise it’s coming but trying to fit in SEVEN people is hard haha. The reader will have different types of relationships with each member. I hope this met everyone’s expectations I’m hoping that this is sufficient enough after the last part. You looked over to your left and saw that JK had fallen asleep before the two of you made it fifteen minutes into the movie. You shook your head and turned the movie off and decided to wait until he was up to watch it with him. He had been spending a lot more time with you, even if it was only for twenty minutes. It was nice seeing him more but each time you saw him he looked worse than before. You knew something was wrong and had asked him about it, but he told you that he wasn’t ready to talk about it. You dropped it and didn’t ask him again, but you couldn’t help but notice the toll that it was taking on him.

You set a timer on your phone for two hours. You figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a nap with him, because the weird hours of him coming over had your sleep cycle a little jacked up. You didn’t know what his schedule was so you figured two hours was a safe bet and decided to let him sleep. The couch wasn’t very big so it didn’t leave you a lot of room since JK was so tall. It wasn’t the first time he’d fallen asleep and taken up most of the room. Lately he seemed to be falling asleep around you more than usual. You leaned into him and let yourself drift off.

The two hours felt like two seconds because your alarm was going off only moments after you had set it. You opened your eyes and noticed that you were completely laid out on the couch and the warmth that had been there before was gone. You sleepily pushed yourself up into a sitting position.  You wondered if JK had left while you had fallen asleep. You grabbed your phone and turned off the alarm.

“You need to choose a different alarm, that sounds awful.” His voice said from the hall. He walked back into the living room to sit with you. You sleepily curled into his side and he wrapped  an arm around you. He got really quiet so you looked up at him. His worry lines were more prominent and looked lost in thought.

“Hey.” You said softly and he looked down at you. You hadn’t realized just how close the two of you were. You decided not to ask him the burning question you’ve wanted to know the answer to.  So you decided to break the silence. “I’ve noticed you’ve been falling asleep over here more. I’m worried about you. You’re pushing yourself too hard.” You bit your lip.

His eyes bore into yours, “Sleep has been escaping me lately. I guess I just feel comfortable with you, but I am sorry I keep falling asleep instead of spending time with you.”

“It’s still time, and I'm not complaining. It was just an observation that had me worried.”

“I promise, there isn’t anything to worry about. It will pass.” You nodded and he pulled you close and kissed the top of your head. “But unfortunately I do have to head back so I can practice.”

“You’ve been practicing every day. You really should take a break, even if it’s just for a day.” He gave you a smile and told you that he would call you later. You instantly missed the warmth when he left.

You realized you had gotten so used to him being around your apartment and being beside you when you napped or him just being around you in general. That it now felt weird when he wasn’t around, which didn’t make sense. There was no pattern to seeing him, it was basically when he had time and if you weren’t hanging out with Jackson.

At that thought your phone rang and you saw Jackson’s name pop up. You grabbed your phone, “Hey Jackson.”

“Hey, you busy?” you knew it was a nice way of asking if JK was there or not. It wasn’t that the two of them disliked each other...actually you weren’t sure what it was all about and you didn’t feel like trying to figure it out.

“Nope. What’s up?”

“You remember a few weeks ago I told you that if I could get tickets that I'd take you to that BTS concert, well it’s not really a concert but they’re performing. Well, I was able to score some at the last minute and wondered if you wanted to go.” You remembered the conversation, it was the day you bought that beanie for JK. You hadn’t realized that Jackson had been actively looking for tickets, so it kind of surprised you when he asked.

“Sure, I guess. When is it?”

“Tomorrow. It isn’t too far away luckily so we don’t have to travel too far or anything.” He seemed excited and it made you smile. He got excited over the smallest things. The two of you talked about specifics and you told him that you’d be ready to leave by the time he picked you up.

The rest of the night went quickly since you had to do laundry and also clean your apartment, it wasn’t that it was dirty, but you just needed something to do. You were in the middle of switching laundry when your phone went off. You finished up and went to check it. JK had text you.

JK: Hanging with you is 1000000x better than this

You couldn’t help but smile. The dynamic between the two of you had somehow shifted in the last few weeks. The feelings that you’d been fighting so hard against were start to seep through and it scared you. You couldn’t get attached or involved with him. Being attached was already out the window since the two of you had spent a majority of your time in Seoul, together.You never did get a response to your reply so you assumed that he was probably busy again, despite the fact it was two in the morning when he text you. You really wished he would sleep and take better care of himself. You loved dance just as much as he did but he was running himself into the ground.

You finished up what you could and then headed to bed. You really needed to get your sleep schedule back on track. You slept all the way into mid  day.

When you woke up you saw you had a message from JK.

JK: I probably won’t be able to come see you today, but promise me you’ll be completely inconsolable about it.

Y/N: I promise. It’s okay though, I have plans with Jackson. I meant to tell you last night but I forgot, so it works out.

There was no reply to that and honestly you didn’t really expect one. When Jackson was mentioned he always either changed the subject or went radio silent for a little bit before text you or calling you about something else. You knew for a fact that it was jealousy because of his statement the night he put your furniture together.

Boys say that girls are hard to understand but girls don’t even come close to guys and trying to figure out why they do what they do. The next message was Jackson reminding you to be ready by noon so the two of you could head to where the performance was without hitting any traffic. You dressed more for comfort than for fashion, but even you had to admit what you managed to throw together was pretty cute. The weather was still chilly sometimes but it had warmed up significantly than when you first arrived.

Jackson tried to give you a quick rundown on the group along with their names. You couldn’t keep the names straight so eventually he gave up, “Look I only came because you paid for the tickets. Odds are I won’t even like the rest of their songs.” Jackson decided the answer to your statement was to play some of their old songs. It seem they didn’t even stick to a certain type of genre, but it somehow worked for them.

The drive wasn’t too horrible and for the last half hour of it you and Jackson ended up talking about what both of you were like in high school. The both of you had been polar opposite in that time of your life. “Alright sunshine, we’re here.”

You looked up to see a stage off into the distance and a lot of people walking around. There was food and drink stalls, so it was basically a fair...but not. The both of you walked around and got food while waiting for the music to start, which didn’t take long. You heard the MC start talking about BTS and what not. You weren’t really focusing, you were casually walking and watching people freak out and run towards the stage. You rolled your eyes, “You realize this is a boy band right? I haven’t been into a boy band since N’SYNC.”

Jackson laughed, “Why are you so against kpop?”

“It’s not that I'm against it, I guess I just don’t get it. It’s cheesy songs with absolutely no real content. I bet you most of the kpop boy band songs are about love.” you laughed.

“BTS write their own lyrics and they don’t have a lot of love songs, so stop being narrow minded.” He gave you a mock glare, “Just enjoy your time with me and listen to good music.”

“Are you a BTS fanboy?”

Jackson shook his head, “I don’t know if I would call me a fanboy. But I like BTS and their music, they talk about a lot of things other idol groups don’t. They write, compose, and produce a lot of their own music.”

You found that interesting to say the least. Most artists in America didn’t write their own songs, so you figured you should at least respect the fact that they do. You flinched and covered your ears once the screaming started. You could see a line of guys up on the stage now and give a greeting. They didn’t spend much time talking oddly but from where you stood, which was pretty far back, you could see the choreography and you were very impressed. What they were doing wasn’t easy in any sense and the guy in the center was able to do that and sing without his voice wavering. “Damn.”

Jackson had a smug smile, “I told you.”

You stood there and listened to the song and Jackson was right, it wasn’t just a stupid love song. You didn’t move for a while, you ended up watching them dance through a few songs, but your eyes never left the guy that was normally in the center. He danced a lot like JK, which you had always admired.

“Wanna move closer?”

You looked over at Jackson completely forgetting that he was right beside you as you had been sucked into the performance. “Yeah sure, just let me get a drink. I’ll come find you.” Jackson nodded and headed towards the crowd. You went to the nearest stall to grab something with caffeine because you were exhausted. You heard the girl talking in front of you. “God, the way Jungkook moves is down right sinful. The things I would do to him...and his voice, god. He will forever be my bias.”

You bit your lip to keep from laughing at the girl in front of you. You continued to listen as they talked about Jungkook, whichever one that was, and found it quite hilarious...and graphic. Once they got their food and left you took a step up to the stall. “Can I just have a coke?” the person behind the stall went to get it.

You looked over at the stage because one of them had started talking to the crowd, he seemed winded which you couldn’t blame him. Each member started talking but you tuned them out once the person handed you the drink and you gave them cash and told them to just keep the change because you didn’t feel like messing with it.

When you started paying attention again they had moved on to the next song. You weaved through the people while you listened to the music and you couldn’t help but like each song you heard. So maybe Jackson was right about them being different. You would definitely be checking them out later to listen to some of their other songs. It took almost the whole song before you found Jackson dancing by himself in a small pocket in the crowd.

“Is everyone having fun?” everyone screamed in response and you had to cover one of your ears. Fan girls had iron lungs and the pitch of a flying creature when it came to boy bands.

“As you know we’re preparing for our comeback for our next album ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life’ and we’re really excited to share it with you. We all contributed on this album so we’re even more excited for you to hear it.”

Another voice picked up where he stopped, “Actually our maknae wrote his first full song which made it on the album.” the screaming was even louder than before, you managed to squeeze into a spot beside Jackson and you asked him to hold your drink while you fixed your boots that you had on that someone had decided to step on while you were walking through the crowd.

“I don’t think we should keep them waiting, do you? Here’s our first performance of ‘Save Me’. Let’s do it!” your head popped up at the voice, you heard it enough when you hung out with him but you were certain that JK wasn’t here and was most likely practicing. You were losing your mind and have now come to the point of hearing him when he isn’t around. Maybe you did hang out with him too much.

You thanked Jackson for holding your drink while you listened to the song. You really liked it and the lyrics were amazing, yet again. They had already won you over despite wanting to not be into a boy band. You actually really liked this song and decided that you’d probably add it to your Spotify playlist when it was released. You watched as all seven of them danced so in sync. You were in awe of it before but even more so now since it seemed they were always in sync with every choreography of every song.

When the song stopped all of the people in the group were breathing hard “We hope you enjoyed the song. JK anything you want to add?” the tallest asked.

“Yeah, I hope you enjoyed the song and please show it lots of love.” your heart practically stopped beating, you without a doubt couldn’t mistake that voice for anyone. You looked over at the stage and saw him standing there, your eyes got wide. You’d been watching him this whole time and hadn’t realized it. You didn’t hear anything else that was said after you saw him. It made sense why it seemed like the guy moved a lot like JK did. Your mind was running a thousand miles a minute.

You turned to Jackson “I need to go.”

“What? Why? Is everything okay?” he looked so confused and worried.

“I just need--” you couldn’t even finish your sentence the thought, “I’ll call you.”

You handed him your drink and weaved through the crowd, you faintly heard him calling your name but you kept walking. You needed to get away from the crowd of people. You didn’t really know what emotions you were feeling. As your mind was slowly processing what just happened some of the things in the beginning of your friendship made sense, like the mask. You walked a ways up the street and found a bench to sit on. It was far enough away from people that you felt like you could breathe. JK was an idol and part of you was so frustrated. He didn’t lie, technically, but for some reason you felt a small sense of betrayal. It didn’t make any sense. There were so many emotions that it was hard to identify them.

You weren’t sure how long you’d been sitting there but the crowd had mostly thinned out, so the event must be over. You saw a few SUVs pull up to the curb in your peripheral vision as you leaned back and ran your fingers through your hair. You didn’t know how he had kept this from you for months.

You stood up and stretched, your body aching a bit. This was a sign that you had been sitting there longer than you thought. It was the sound of his laugh that made you turn your head quickly. He was walking with the other people of his group to the SUVs. He was laughing with a few of them but you made eye contact with one person, and it wasn’t JK, it was Jimin the guy that had shown up at the dance studio when JK had taken you there. You were frozen and he seemed to be surprised seeing you standing there. He reached out and stopped JK from walking any further. He looked at Jimin in confusion and pushed him playfully but Jimin hit him in the stomach and tilted his head towards you.

What probably had only been a few seconds felt like minutes. His eyes had looked over at you and your stomach flipped, but this time it was different. It didn’t feel like butterflies, and it made you feel sick to your stomach. Neither of you said anything but what little color he did have in his face had left. Jimin leaned in and said something in JK’s ear and climbed into the SUV. The vehicles didn’t leave but the rest of the people had given the both of you as much privacy as they could.

“Y/N.” he started walking towards you but you put a hand up stopping him from walking any further. You didn’t know if you could have any type of conversation until you had a chance to process everything, you didn’t want to do or say anything rash. Part of you was irritated that he felt like he couldn’t tell you and part of you was hurt he didn’t think that he could trust you, and a million other feelings that you couldn’t quite explain.

“What are you doing here?” his voice shook a little..

You don’t know how you managed it, but Jackson’s name tumbled out. The two of you just continued to stare at each other. You were finally able to find your voice after a moment, “So you’re an idol?”

He looked scared, “Y/N I've been trying to figure out how to tell you. I’ve been going out of my mind trying to come up with some way of telling you that didn’t end badly.”

“So all of this,” you waved your hand around, “is the reason for the weird hours and you finding ways to fit me into your busy schedule while I wait around to see if I'll even get to see you.”

“Don’t say it like that, it has never been like that.” You hadn’t meant for it to come out so harshly, but part of you couldn’t help but feel irritated that you were basically at his beck and call while he lived his idol life. It hadn’t bothered you as much when you thought it was just him and his dance studio, which didn’t make sense, but finding out the real reason made you mad. You were trying your best to keep your emotions in check.

“This is bullshit.” the phrase came out in English which sounded weird after talking in Korean for so long, but you weren't sure how to express how you felt in Korean.

“Look, can we just go talk? I’ll find a way to make it work so we have time.”

Yet again, he had to try and fit you into his schedule, “Actually I'm not sure I can fit you into my schedule.” you bit your lip knowing what you were doing was petty, but you wouldn’t apologize. “I need time to process all of this.” you took a few steps back getting ready to walk away.

“Y/N, please! Why does it matter what my profession is? I’m still the same person, nothing has changed. How I am with you, that’s me. I’m just JK when I'm with you, I'm not an idol, I'm not part of BTS. I’m me.” He was pleading with you and you felt your chest tighten.

“Like I said, I just need some time to process and figure things out.”

“Please don’t shut me out.” he pleaded, but you said nothing. He looked like he was in physical pain and your instinct was to make him feel better, but this was one time that you couldn’t. “Will you text me then? Whatever your decision is, good or bad.”

You nodded, “I gotta go.” you turned and pulled out your phone. You immediately closed all the notifications from Jackson. You got yourself an Uber to take you home, you didn’t care about how much it would cost to take you back. It took everything in you not to look back and see if he was still standing there.

You were sitting on your couch curled up in your blanket watching a movie with Jackson. Truthfully you weren’t even watching it. You’d felt off the entire week and you really missed having JK around. You’d gotten so used to his presence being around all the time that the apartment seemed quiet and lonely without him there. You still hadn’t been able to fully figure out how you felt about everything, instead you’d spent the week doing whatever you could to keep yourself busy. The crazy thing was you knew your emotions didn’t fit the crime, which there wasn’t one.

The TV turned off and you looked up and then over at Jackson who was holding the remote, “You’ve been in your own world for the past week. You’ll barely talk and you won’t tell me what happened at the concert, which was when all of this started.”

You chewed your bottom lip, You couldn’t talk to him about it. JK had a right to his privacy and you didn’t want to cause him any issues. “I can’t talk about it.” you sighed.

“Why?”

“It’s complicated.”

“Can you give me a cliff notes version? Give me something that will at least tell me what's going on. I’m worried about you. You’re never this quiet and you’ve closed yourself off with anything to do with the outside world. You haven’t left your apartment in a week.” You knew that he wasn’t going to drop it. He’d been getting frustrated with you more and more, and you couldn’t blame him. He tried to make you feel better but everything just felt off.

You turned yourself so you were facing him on the couch, “What would you do if you found out someone important to you had kept a huge secret from you?”

He seemed to think about the question, “Depends on how big the secret was.”

“Pretty big. To the point it could change a lot of things.” you started picking at the fringe on your jeans.

“Well, did they have a valid reason?” After a moment he nudged you when you didn’t answer.

“Kinda. That’s the part that’s complicated.”

“Have you talked to them about it?”

You shook your head, “No, I've gone radio silent until I can figure out how I feel about it all.”

“Let me ask you this, does the secret change what you think or feel about that person?” He was watching your every move and it you disliked him reading you so much.

“No, but there’s a lot of factors.”

He sighed, “I’m going to be blunt, is this about JK?” You tried so hard not to react but your heart started beating faster and you froze, “That explains a lot.”

“Jackso--”

“I know you care about him in a different way than you care about me. You’ve been miserable all week. Just call him and talk it out.”

“We’re just friends.”

“You suck at lying.” he laughed.

You opened your mouth to argue but there was a knock at your door. You got up off the couch and walked to the front door and opened it. You jumped when you saw JK standing there looking nervous. “JK what are you doing here? I told you I'd call yo--”

“It’s been a week and I've tried so hard to be patient, but I'm going out of my mind Y/N.” he rushed out.

“JK, now isn’t a good time. I’ll ca--”

“Actually it’s a perfect time you t--holy shit!” you spun around and saw Jackson standing there with his jacket getting ready to leave. You looked back at JK who had taken his mask off to talk to you. He looked startled and your mind was completely blank on what you should do or say. “You’re Jungkook.” he said shocked.

All three of you stood there awkwardly no one knowing what to say. Jackson looked at you, “This explains SO much and why you bolted at the concert. With that being said, I’m going to leave you two to talk things out.” He slid past you but still looked shocked to see JK standing at your front door.

“Jackson you can’t say anything.” You told him before he made it too far.

“I wouldn’t.” he said and then looked at JK, “Don’t let her push you away, she’s been moping around all week.”

“Jackson!” you yelled out.

“What? You both look miserable, so talk it out. Call me if you need me.” He slipped out the door leaving you and JK standing there awkwardly.

“Please just hear me out.” He pleaded with you softly.

You opened the door wider allowing him to come inside. He walked in and headed towards the living room. You followed behind him after shutting the door. He hadn’t taken a seat on the couch like you had expected him to. Instead he was still standing and was fidgeting. “Okay so what do you need to say?”

“Can you at least sit down?”

You nodded and obliged. You took your normal seat at the edge and tucked your feet beneath yourself and waited for him to start. He stood there, “JK?”

“Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out where to start.” he put his hands in his pants pockets before pulling them back out again. “I know you’re mad that I didn’t tell you sooner, and I get that. You have every right to be, but it wasn’t just me that I had to think about. Whenever I decided to tell you, it would then involve the other members. I wanted to tell you so badly, but part of me was worried that if you knew what I did or who I was to the public that things would change. I liked being able to be myself around you and I didn’t want to lose that. I can’t get that anywhere else but the dorms but they’re my brothers, it’s different. With you there wasn’t talk about work it was just me and you hanging out and sometimes that was the only thing that got me through my long days. I know not telling you was messed up, and I'm sorry. I tried to find a way to tell you multiple times ever since you mentioned BTS in your kitchen. I was scared that I would lose you if I told you because I didn’t tell you sooner, and I know that doesn’t make much sense but I didn’t want to lose you. Jimin told me that I needed to tell you because if you found out from anyone but me that it would be worse. I wish I could take back how you found out, not that you did but how it happened. I would do it all over and I would tell you in person so I could explain like I am now.”

You weren’t sure he took a breath at any point during his speech with how fast he was talking, but you were pretty sure you caught every word. You didn’t really think much about the fact that the other people in the group had to be taken into consideration. You felt guilt start to rise up in your chest from not talking to him. You could see the prominent dark circles under his eyes and the fact that he looked like he was going to pass out from exhaustion at any second. “JK…” You weren’t sure what you had planned to say, so his name died on your lips.

He walked around your coffee table and sat down on it across from you so it brought you two closer to each other, “I promise that I will be completely honest about everything from here on out. I talked with everyone the day you found out, once we had gotten back to the dorms. Jimin helped me explain the things I couldn’t put into words because I was still recovering from watching you walk away from me. Jimin was the only person that knew before the hyungs, and while the rest of them were confused at first and there were a lot of questions that I had to answer. I told them that you never pushed for answers I wasn’t willing to give and that you didn’t see me without a mask for the longest time. We talked for the rest of that day about everything and what possibilities there were now that you knew.” He paused and put his hand on your leg, “Y/N I've done everything I can think of. There are limitations to what I can talk to you about and things I can take you with me to. But those limitations are for the other members privacy and there are other things that we can talk about later, but please don’t push me away. Not seeing you or talking to you this whole week was one of the worst things I've had to endure in a long time.”

He sat there and waited for you to say something. “JK I've been trying to figure my emotions about this whole thing for a week. Yes, it sucked knowing that you didn’t trust me enough to tell me. I get not telling me in the beginning but we hang out almost every day and it’s been months. Plus I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that you’re an idol. From what little Jackson told me in the past was that you guys were getting even more popular and that’s intimidating. Hell, I haven’t even had the guts to use Naver to look up BTS. It’s new for me just like it is for you, only you’re a celebrity and a shit ton of people know your name. You should hear the things those girls were saying at that concert.”

His face turned red, which meant he knew what girls thought about him. You’d never think he actually knew with the way he carries himself. “I’ll do whatever, I just don’t want to lose you. You mean a lot to me.”

You gave him a small smile, “You aren’t going to lose me. I still don’t know how I feel about everything and I'm still trying to figure out a lot of things with the new bit of information I have.”

He visibly relaxed, “would you be okay if I stayed for a little bit? I don’t have anything to do today, I honestly thought I'd be trying to convince you all night.”

You nodded, “You’re always welcome here, you know that.”

“Good.” He sat on the couch and leaned back, “Want to watch the movie from the last time I was here?”

You nodded, “Sure.” you got up to go through the stack of DVDs you had. “Hey what was the last thing you remember?” you called out over your shoulder. After a moment of no answer you turned around and JK was passed out on your couch like he always did. You smiled to yourself and got up to grab a blanket and sat beside him and got into a position you were comfortable with and decided to take a nap with him.

AN: I hope there aren’t too many mistakes in there, i tried to proof read it but i didn’t have a lot of time. So i just want to let you know that there are actually 3 other versions of how the reader finds out but i ended up choosing this one so hopefully this will satisfy everyone. I’ve you’ve stayed with the fic until now, you’re a trooper. Future chapters will be longer since I’m not confined into a small area of what the reader can do without finding out. You walked through the airport relieved that you were finally off that stuffy plane and you could stretch your legs. You were excited that you had planned to stay in Seoul for a few months as a present to yourself for finally finishing your degree and getting a minor in Korean Studies will definitely make this trip more memorable. You noticed the huge rush of people headed to the baggage claim so you decided to take a detour and wait for the chaos to die down.

You saw a Starbucks tucked away in the corner so you decided that after being on a cramped flight for hours and the jetlag you knew was going to hit you in a few hours you decided getting a large coffee was probably a good idea. You walked over to the counter and waited behind the person in front of you. You were glancing at your phone when you felt someone bump you and then liquid completely soak your shirt.

“Oh my god!” you used your free hand to pull the shirt away from your body as it was soaked with scaling liquid that you assumed was most likely coffee. You heard a cuss in Korean as you dropped your carry on and tossed your phone on top of it so you could use both hands to hold your shirt away from you and search for some napkins.

Napkins appeared in your eye sight and you grabbed them with a quick thank you and started dabbing at your shirt. You knew your favorite shirt was ruined and your annoyance crept up within you despite the fact you tried to force yourself to understand that it was accident. “This is a great way to start my trip.” you grumbled to yourself.

“I am so sorry.” you heard in a muffled korean accent and you looked up to see dark eyes staring at you. His nose and mouth were covered with a black mask.

You sighed and walked over to the trash can and threw the soaked napkins away, “It’s fine.”

“I can replace?” he asked stumbling just a little over the words. You assumed that he probably wasn’t fluent in English.

“No it’s fine.” you told him, switching to Korean.

You saw his eyes light up and he seemed relieved. “Please let me replace it. It’s my fault. I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention because I was tired.”

You could see the exhaustion in his eyes in the little bit of his face you could see. “It’s okay, I know the feeling. I just got off a sixteen hour flight.”

“Ma’am are you going to order?” The barista asked interrupting your conversation.

“Umm, yeah. Just a large black coffee.” You bent down to grab your wallet from your bag.

“Please, let me.” You looked up and he was pulling out his wallet and handed the girl cash.

“Thanks.” you muttered softly and picked up your bag. You saw a bathroom off to the side and decided you should probably change your shirt. “I’m going to go change, but I appreciate the coffee.”

You saw him hesitate, “I’ll hold your coffee until you come back.”

“Thank you.” you gave him a small smile and headed towards the bathroom with your bag swung over your shoulder. You grabbed the biggest stall and dropped your bag. You opened it and tried to find a suitable shirt that wouldn’t be too revealing. You were planning on going shopping once you got here because you didn’t want to check in a bag and have to wait for baggage claim, so all you really had was a plain white oversized shirt. You grimaced but knew that you didn’t really have a choice because all you had left were tank tops. You stripped the shirt off and slipped the oversized shirt over your head. On your way out you threw you favorite shirt in the trash knowing that it was ruined.

When you stepped back out into the open airport you glanced to your left and saw the guy was sitting at a table with two coffees in hand. You made your way over and set your bag on the ground and took a seat at the table. He slid the coffee over to you and you gladly accepted it. You took a cautioned sip and smiled at the taste. “This tastes much better than it being on my shirt.” You saw his cheeks go pink and you gave him a small smile, “I’m kidding.” He visibly relaxed. You noticed that he was very reserved and not too talkative and he would occasionally glance around.

“You don’t have to sit with me, I’m sure you have places to go and people to see.” You gave him a true smile. “Thanks for the coffee.”

“Do you live here or are you visiting?” He asked kindly ignoring your attempt to let him leave..

“Umm, visiting sorta? I’m going to be here for a few months but I haven’t found an apartment or anything so its cheap hotel living until I do.”

“Have you been to Seoul before?”

You shook your head, “No, but I’ve always wanted to visit. I just graduated with a minor in Korean Studies and I thought I would celebrate with a trip to Seoul.”

“You’re very good at speaking korean.” you could see the smile grace his face under the mask as he bowed his head slightly.

“Thanks.” You felt your cheeks flush. There was an awkward pause between the two of you, “I should probably get going and try to find a cheap hotel around here.” you stood up and grabbed your bag. He stood up with you and you took that as a sign that he was going to leave as well. “Thanks again for the coffee.” you raised your cup to him and smiled. You only got a few steps before you felt a hand lightly grab your arm stopping you in your tracks. You looked at him and he dropped his hand quickly and blushed.

“Would you maybe want a tour of Seoul?” he asked nervously.

You looked at him and he seemed so nervous and you couldn’t really understand why, “You really don’t have to.” you said softly.

“I want to.”

You nodded, “Okay. Sure.”

“I have practice until eight, do you think you would still be up for it around nine?”

You knew it was a little late and you were going to be incredibly jet lagged but you could help but agree. It probably wasn’t the smartest thing to agree to meet a guy you barely knew at night, but if you kept in the city you figured you would probably be safe. “Yeah of course.”

This time you could definitely see the smile as his whole face lifted, “Can you meet me here?”

“Sure, do you want to just text me when you’re done?” You started to bend down to get your phone.

“Can we just meet here at nine please?” He stopped you.

You sat back up and nodded, “Sure.”

He stood up, “Okay, I’ll see you then.” He bowed towards you and turned around and left.

You found that last exchange a little odd but you pushed it away thinking that maybe it was a cultural thing you didn’t know about. You knew that skin on skin touching wasn’t something that happened, which you knew is probably why he dropped his hand so quickly. You took a long sip of your coffee and frowned a little when you realize it had gotten cold. You sighed and stood up and threw the  cup in the trash while you grabbed your bag and headed out of the airport in search of one crappy hotel room.

You had managed to find a semi decent hotel about a thirty minute train ride out of the city so you would be lying if part of you said you wanted to go meet the guy from earlier, but you pushed through your tiredness and the urge to be lazy and got back on the train. Once you were back in the city you were captivated by how bright and colorful it was. Part of you was shocked by just how busy it was considering it was nine at night on a weekday.

You made your way into the airport and headed towards the Starbucks you had met him at earlier. You were surprised to see him already sitting there with two coffees in hand. You walked up to him and smiled, “I like this meeting much more than the first.” you realized that you had started talking in english and grimace, “Sorry, habit.” you said switching to Korean.

You heard him laugh softly and he stood handing you the coffee. He was still wearing the mask but he was in different clothes and looked to have showered, “It is okay. I can speak some.” he replied to you in english with a few quick pauses. You knew the struggle with foreign languages.

“We can talk in korean, I need to keep practicing anyways.” you replied.

“You’re very good.”

You blushed, “Thanks. So, you promised me a tour…where are we going?”

You could see the smile on his face even behind the mask. Sometimes it was a little difficult to hear what he was saying but you figured there was probably a reason he was keeping it on and you didn’t want to be rude and ask. “I’m going to take you to a few of my favorite places if that’s okay.” You nodded and he gestured with his free hand for you to walk in front of him.

Jungkook stopped dancing when he heard the music stop. He turned to see Jimin standing there looking at him. There weren’t any words exchanged between the two as Jungkook walked over to his bag and grabbed a small towel to wipe the sweat off his face.

“Practice ended four hours ago.” Jimin said still standing by the stereo.

‘I know.” Jungkook replied.

“And you’re still here practicing.”

“I’m aware.” he stated tossing the towel over to his bag.

“Wanna talk about it?” Jimin looked at him without judgement. Jimin had always been there when Jungkook needed someone to talk to. He was the one person that he didn’t have a problem opening up to. He’d been the ear to listen to Jungkook’s fears and problems.

He was still breathing hard as he slid down the wall sitting by his bag before looking over at his best friend. “It’s just things with Y/N.” part of Jungkook was still freaking out from the other night. He hadn’t seen her in a few days and hadn’t been talking to her much. He felt bad about it but he was having problems figuring out what to do. He figured he’d have a little more time before he’d tell her. He liked just being JK with her and he didn’t want that to change when she found out he was an idol that part of a group that was blowing up.

“I figured. You’ve been at the dorms a lot, even though you’ve barely come out of your room unless schedules makes you.” Jimin walked over to him and sat in front of him on the floor.

Jungkook put his forehead in his hands before sliding them back through is hair and to the back of his neck. “She was out with Jackson.” he said so quietly that Jimin barely heard him.

“So this is a jealousy thing?” he questioned.

Jungkook lifted his head quickly glaring at his friend. Yes, he was jealous of Jackson and it sucked every time she talked about how she hung out with him, all because he was busy and couldn’t be with her. “No.” Jimin gave him a look, “Okay, yes. But that’s not the issue right now.”

“Okay, then what’s the problem. From the last time we talked it seemed things were going pretty good between the two of you.” He had gone to Jimin on a few occasions to talk about Y/N since he was the only one that knew. The day he had walked in on Jungkook and Y/N he went to talk to him that night and had told him everything. About how they met to him taking his mask off that day. The two of them had a long talk late into the night. After everything Jimin understood a little bit more and promised to not tell anyone. Sp Jimin has been his confidant on anything to do with Y/N.

“She was out with Jackson, so I decided to go by and see her for a bit after practice two nights ago. She started humming one of our songs. I asked her where she heard and she said some store downtown. I asked her if she knew who sung it and she switched the letters around but basically she said BTS. I still don’t think she knows, but I’m not ready to tell her yet. I like being just JK.” He groaned and put his forehead to his knees.

“You knew you wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret much longer. We’re on more broadcasts and radio stations. I warned you about getting in deep with her, and that isn’t meant to be an ‘i told you so’ thing. You need to tell everyone before you tell her though, it doesn’t just affect you if things turn out badly.”

Jungkook sighed and lifted his head to look at Jimin, “I know. I just don’t know how to tell her. ‘Hey I know we’ve been hanging out for a few months but I thought I should let you know I’m an idol that’s in a group of seven people. Please keep this a secret.’ I’m pretty sure that would end badly.”

Jimin took in his best friend. He could tell Jungkook was miserable at the thought of having to tell Y/N. He wasn’t sure what to tell him in the regard of having to tell the girl he’d been so into. He knew that he was scared of more than her going to the press. He was worried about her wanting nothing to do with him afterwards. Jungkook had come to talk to him when he realized he was in too deep with how he felt about Y/N. Jimin wasn’t sure how any of it would work out when he did tell her, but he’d be there for Jungkook.

“Just worry about one thing at a time. You it looks like she still doesn’t know, so you may have a little bit longer. But I do suggest telling everyone soon so you aren’t dealing with her and all of us at the same time.” He watched Jungkook nod his head, “Also, it it was me. I wouldn’t be hiding from her. If you feel like you do, spend as much time with her as you can. I’ve got your back on excuses with everyone until you tell them.”

“Thank you.” Jungkook gave his friend a small smile. He knew Jimin was right. If there was any chance of her walking away from him after he told her, he’d kick himself for not spending time with her.

Jimin nodded and stood up and offered Jungkook a hand. He pulled Jungkook up, “Also, no more practicing. Go eat. We have an early day tomorrow since we’re finalizing the choreography for the concert.”

He nodded and Jimin left him to his thoughts. He was already trying to figure out to explain his behavior, but he was hoping that since he already would disappear at times she wouldn’t think anything of it. He walked over to grab his phone and saw that he had a message from Y/N.

Y/N: Tell them to give you a break. We’ve barely talked in two days, it feels weird.

He couldn’t help but smile at her message. He decided to just call her instead so he could hear her voice. He scrolled down to her name and put the phone to his ear. His heart was racing even more than when he called her for the first time at the hotel.

“This better be you JK or I swear I will hate whoever is at the end of this call.” Her voice filtered through the speaker and he laughed.

“I see you’re still as violent as ever.”
