Luke grinned as she prepared him a cup of hot chocolate. This had become his favourite part of the day. He could die all over again in a pool of her hot chocolate and it would be the most beautiful death, but he’d rather live in it. Peeling her hand from a mug the blond brought it up to his mouth, where he pecked her palm. Then he kisses her wonderful fingers that did nothing but create and nurture. Her perfect hands. The ones he wanted to hold.

The tears spilled from her bright blue eyes, staining her freckled cheeks as the older blonde spoke reassuring wonds of comfort to her. She had become traumatised by the blood that stained her hands and clothes, her hair was a mess and her hands shook violently. A walker almost got her. It’s jaws had been grasping to sink into her flesh, but Sigrid…Sigrid saved her.
She couldn’t lose Sami too. She wouldn’t allow herself to lose Sami too. Trembling hands released the knife still dripping with walker blood, reaching out to grab the younger girl and pull her into a tight hug. “It’s okay...” She couldn’t seem to say anything else yet -- whether she was assuring herself or Sami, Sigrid didn’t know. Holding her tightly for a minute, Sigrid loosened her grip on Sami just enough to cup her face with her hands, wiping the smudged tears and blood from one cheek with a thumb. “Hey, look at me -- you’re okay.”
“Oh, thank God you’re okay!”
A sigh of relief and Luke is smiling as he draws her in for a strong hug.
“I am now. Just stay here for a minute, okay?”
