What do words like home and future mean when youâre always on the run and every moment could be your last? They mean nothing and everything at the same time and Jeongguk is all of the above. He is your safe haven, he is your home and he is your future. But things like that crumble easily in your world.

The city is on fire.
The flames dance in the air, tint everything black and red and menace to reach up the sky, bring that down as well so that truly nothing is left unscathed in the entire world. The heath burns his flesh, makes his eyes water, turns his throat dry and he doesnât need to look behind his back to know you can feel it too, to know how fast your heart is beating inside your chest, thumping hard against your ribs like a trapped hummingbird inside a cage.
He doesnât have to look to know your chest is heaving, that fatigue and panic are taking over your entire system. He doesnât need to, but he still tilts his head slightly to the side, fixes his gaze on your face for a whole second before turning back around to take in the destructive scenery all around you.
His legs move faster. They hit hard on the dirty and sleek bitumen, seemingly indefatigable, but the truth is that the only thing propelling him forward is self-preservation and the knowledge that if he stops, even for a second, heâll be dead and you right along with him.
But Jeongguk is not stupid. He knows youâre both reaching your breaking point, that you wonât be able to keep on going much longer and that knowledge turns him desperate.
There has to be a way out. He refuses to believe this is the end. No, no, he will not allow it.
His fingers are wrapped tightly around yours and he tugs on them harder, pulls you closer to him so that he can feel the warmth of your body, your heavy breath hitting the back of his neck every now and then. Like this, he knows youâre alive, that you are both still here and most importantly, still human.
Neither of you dares to take a look behind your backs and truth is, you donât even have to. All it takes is for you is to close your eyesâor even blinkâto see them.
Skin of a sickly ashen grey. Eyes void like an abyss, black as coal. Mouths open wide in a perpetual silent scream that haunts both of your dreams every single night. Teeth ready to bite, rip the skin off and let the blood soil the bitumen and fill their monstrous mouths. Arms outstretched to grasp you, to pull you into them to scratch and rip the skin until nothing of you is left, not even your soul, and you are one of them. Another little piece in the ever-growing army of walking corpses.
All it took was two weeks.
Two weeks for the whole world to crumble down, splinter into tiny frail little pieces of glass and all by the hands of monsters that only used to live inside TV screens on Halloween: zombies.
Jeongguk curses under his breath, swiftly turns to the left in a vain attempt to confuse the brain-dead creatures right behind your backs but he knows it wonât work, not this time, not when there is so many of them.
He dares another look at your face and the utter terror he reads on your features turns his heart smaller inside his chest.
He swore to protect you.
One year ago, in front of your families and friends, he made his vows. What was it that he promised? To love you and cherish you until the end of his days, to protect you and grant you a happy life. And now what? What happened to all those pretty words that filled his mouth back then?
Lies. Lies. Lies.
Everyone you ever cared about and loved is gone. Everything you ever knew is gone. All in the blink of an eye. There were no goodbyes, no mourning, no nothing. And he can see the toll it has taken on you whenever he looks inside those beautiful eyes of yours. Once upon a time, they used to shine like stars in a night sky but not anymoreâjust another thing to add to the list of what those monsters have taken away from the both of you.
Your legs are tired. Your lungs are begging for air and all you can think about is just letting go, just let your body fall and claim the desperate rest it needs. When was the last time either of you had a proper night of sleep? When was the last time nightmares didnât wake one of you in the middle of the night and successfully kept you awake through most of it until the sun was back up in the sky?
Jeongguk curses, his voice quivers around the edges alongside his limbs and he can hear your breath catch, get trapped inside your lungs.
Is this the end?
He gulps down heavily, bites on his bottom lip like he always does when he is focused on something, when he is so deep in thought the whole world disappears. But this time, the look on his face is one of panic and dread.
There is no way out.
Jeongguk curses under his breath again, forces you to take another swift turn to the left and you both know itâs futile and desperate but what else is left?
You donât want to die like this, in a dark alley of a city youâve never seen before, helplessly running away from the nightmares behind your backs. So you pray. You pray to all the deities known to mankind, even those youâve never believed in because truthfully, this is all you have left, isnât it? The hope for a miracle.
Jeongguk falters and you almost bump right into him. His name leaves your mouth like a shrill but it falls on deaf ears because right there, in the middle of the street, shining like a beacon, lies a car.
A car.
Amidst all the smoke and fire, standing amidst all of this wreckage with barely a single scratch on its surface, that car almost looks like a mirage, a freaking miracle. Or a curse. Too good to be true, too-fucking-good to be true. And yet, it is a chance. Perhaps your only chance. So he takes it. Because this is what your lives have been reduced to. A fucking gamble.
So he takes courage, treats this as a round at the Russian roulette where you donât know whether you win or lose until you pull the bloody trigger and shoot yourself right on your temple. He takes courage and tugs on your arm, yanks it forward as he aims for the car ignoring both the yelp of pain and the shrill of panic that erupt from your mouth.
He ignores the way you call his name in question and horror as your eyes land on what to you looks like nothing but certain doom. He ignores the way you try to yank him in the opposite direction, the way your hand trembles in his grasp with nothing but fear, the way your breath catches as the creatures get closer and closer and closer.
You can almost feel their breath on your neck, you can almost feel their hands on your skin, their claws sinking inside the tender flesh to bring you down with them.
"Hurry!"
His shrill cuts through the air like a knife. Your heaving breaths fill the silence left in its wake and they mix with Jeongguk's and the monstersâ right behind your backs.
What happens next is nothing but a blur.
Curses and screams fill the air, your bodies pressed together inside the car as you pray to all the Gods somewhere up there in the sky to spare your life just this once, to not let the both of you die like this, in a city in ruin with not a single person you ever loved alive to mourn you.
You pray and maybe, maybe someone is really up there, listening and granting wishes because while the monsters surround you, while they shake the car and hit the glass with their fists and open mouths, Jeongguk turns the key and the engine roars to life.
An exhilarated laugh escapes his parted lips, shakes his thin body to the point heâs jolting on the seat whilst pushing with all his might on the pedal to propel the car forward.
Your hand searches his and finds it around the gearshift. Your fingers automatically lace together as if that is the very purpose they were created for and then, you close your eyes and the world turns black and subdues as you will it all away. The flames, the monsters surrounding you, the smell of fire and death that still fills your nose⊠they disappear just like magic as you push your thoughts far away from here.
You fill your head with images of your past life, one that almost looks like a dream now, something youâve only seen while sleeping and not actually lived through. You fill it with laughter and kisses under the sunlight on that beach in Busan where you and Jeongguk finally confessed your feelings for each other. You fill it with the sensation of his warm hands against your naked flesh, you fill it with his beautiful, endearing smile. With the sound of his voice as he softly calls your name first thing in the morning or when he whispers it in your ears while you make love. You fill it all with him so that you can ignore the way the car shakes, the sounds of the monsters falling on the ground as the car drives into them, pushes them down on the bitumen and steps on them.
Slowly, silence envelops you whole and in return, your heart stops hammering against your chest like a caged bird and yet, it is still not enough to prompt your eyes to open because you know that the moment you do so, no matter how far away from the madness and horror you currently are, youâll never be distant enough because this is your new life and all the happy images filling your head right now are nothing but long-gone memories.
Jeonggukâs eyes are trained on the empty street and yet he can almost see you sitting right next to him with your eyes closed and your cherry lips parted, breathing ever so softly and drifting inside your world of memories. He knows that world oh too well, being a frequent visitor himself.
Itâs easy to forget the nightmare when you close your eyes and just drown yourself in the past, push your entire body so down under the deep waters you canât even hear a peep from the world raging outside. Easy and comforting.
It scares him. It scares him how effortless it is to just let go and pretend, to let your consciousness slip away long enough you could almost forget how to get back.
He calls your name ever so softly then, his voice sweet and rich just like your favourite filled chocolate doughnutâyour usual breakfast on a weekend, when heâd purposefully get out of bed before you just to go buy some for the both of you to consume in the comfort and warmth of your bed.
The memory makes a small smile stretch on your lips but it quickly fades as stripes of bleeding red and violent pink start burning its edges, slowly reducing it to nothing at all.
The sun is setting in the sky, falling rapidly behind the hills ahead of you and bringing all the light right with it. An involuntary shiver runs down your spine for there is nothing you dread more than the night and the nightmares sleep always brings right along with it. Another day has passed and if only there were a set date, a fixed moment in time you know to mark the end of it all, maybe youâd be able to rejoice then but that is just another luxury you donât have.
Jeonggukâs eyes move on your face then, just in time to catch the way your expression inevitably falls and your smile disappears as quickly as it had formed. The peaceful expression, the little glint inside your beautiful eyes still present a few seconds ago are once again broken by the cruel reality and Jeongguk hates himself a little for shattering the dream, for pulling you back inside this Hell right along with him but even that deep sense of guilt canât overpower the relief of having you still right next to him, alive and well and⊠present.
So he offers you a little smile, a tug of his hand to prompt your eyes to shift away from the bleeding sky and rather fix them on him and the moment they do oh, how they make his heart beat loudly in his chest, how do they so easily bring warmth to his cheeks and limbs.
âWeâve made it, baby.â
Yes. Youâre alive.
You laugh and nod your head a couple of times for him. And Jeongguk could swear you illuminate the entire car, hell, even the whole road ahead of you with that smile full of sunshine he fell in love with so many years ago, when you were still kids. And the more you look at him, at the way his eyes shine like stars and his nose scrunches up in that adorable bunny-like way of his, the bigger your smile gets and Jeongguk is certain that you, like this, are the most beautiful thing he has ever laid eyes on.
Deep down, you both know this is temporary, that this feeling of victory will be gone in a matter of a few hours when youâll inevitably face another one of those monsters and yet, you allow yourselves to bask in the little joy you feel, in the glimpse of normalcy right within your grasp. For once, you decide not to care and rather live to the fullest inside this little bubble of happiness. A bubble so small and delicate even a breath could easily burst it.
âWe did, didnât we? Wow⊠I canât believe it,â your voice is soft and filled with a little hint of the mirth that turned your lips upwards for the first time in days and Jeongguk canât help but smile even further while focusing his eyes back on the road.
âMe neither,â he confesses, shaking his head a little for it does still feel absolutely incredible and so unbelievably lucky there must be a catch about the whole ordeal somewhere. He pushes those type of thoughts away with all his might, though, as he tries to enjoy the opportunity he was given to live another day right next to you because he hates this part of himself, the pessimistic side that everyday swallows a bit more of the person he used to be before this nightmare started.
It is the middle of the night when you finally come to a halt in what looks to be an abandoned city. One of many, you think to yourself as you scan your surroundings waiting for that telltale sign of danger that comes with the grunts of the famished walking corpses.
The silence of the night welcomes the both of you, though, as you help yourselves out of the car and before you can even glance towards Jeongguk, he is standing right there, by your side, fingers laced around yours to keep you as close as possible. You smile at the tender gesture. Itâs one of the few habits of his that hasnât subdued just yet.
You know.
And even though most of the times you pretend you havenât noticed the way he has changedânor the way you haveâyou know he has and sometimes it is hard to ignore how empty his eyes look when they are not fixed on you, how thin his lips look now that they are always stretched into a harsh line and not pulled into a gentle smile and most importantly how often you catch his hands shaking and him balling them into fists to stop their incessant tremor.
You tug on his hand, offer him a gentle smile the second he looks at you and you imprint the sight of his smile in your memory, the way his eyes light up with a glimpse of the man you fell in love with. You map every single inch of his face just so you can remember him like this the most. Your Jeongguk, not the one the army of dead bodies has created.
You have never walked on a minefield before in your life but if you had to guess how it feels youâd bet heâd be a little like this as you walk through the empty streets in the middle of the night without having a single clue where to go, where to hide. Potentially, every turn could signify your demise.
With every step you take, you feel like shrinking inside yourself, turning a little smaller inch after inch whilst your body quivers ever so slightly in fear and your heart aches as it pounds hard against your ribs.
It is Jeongguk that spots the abandoned building first.
The city has been turned to ashes, set on fire like your own and the one you saw after that, and the one after that too and so on into a trail of smoke, fire and destruction that has left barely anything unscathed. Yet this building looks somewhat decent, with the door still thereâalbeit swung openâand a few windows with the glass still intact to protect you from both the drop in temperatures and any unwanted guests.
A little winning smile forms on his lips then and he tugs a little on your arm so that you can hurry your steps, get to what promises to be your safe havenâat least for the nightâas quickly as humanly possible without making a single sound so not to stir awake the creatures surely lurking in the dark.
Your steps are full of uncertainty and fear as you step into the abandoned building and walk on the broken tiled floor. With each step you take, you tug a little harder on Jeonggukâs hand in fear of what you might meet at the end of this long corridor and seemingly endless string of doors.
If it had been for you, you would have stopped at the first apartment with it being close enough to the exit to make a quick escape if needed. Instead, you keep walking and you only stop when thereâs only a set of doors left and even though you know this is probably for the best, that it would be harder for anyone to find you here, that the brainless creatures are less likely to sense you so far away from the streets, you canât shake the uneasiness prompted by the fear of getting trapped inside this place and not being able to leave it with your humanity still intact.
The door opens easily. Just a little tug from Jeonggukâs hand and it swings open to reveal a simple apartment with minimal and mostly-ruined furniture. The signs of struggle, of a hopeless fight, of the loss of other human lives, taint every inch and corner of this place that probably used to be filled with love and warmth once. You can almost sense the pain, the fear and horror. You can almost hear the screams as your fingers brush against the door, the walls, the little objects filled with memories on the furnishing. Itâs just like echoes from ghosts that beg to be heard, to be remembered so that at least this little part of them can live on, forever human.
You gulp down heavily, force your eyes to tear away from the picture of a happy family still hanging on the wall and rather focus it on your boyfriendâs back as he walks inside the apartment just to make sure no surprises are waiting for you inside any of the empty rooms. You follow his every movement, you mirror every single step and fill your thoughts and sight with him so that itâs easier to bare everything, so that itâs easier to ignore and move on, to live and fight for your chance at survival.
His soft voice breaks the silence just to call your name and draw you next to him and you easily comply letting him lace your fingers together. He places a tender kiss on your forehead then before opening his arms to welcome you in his warm embrace. You feel your body relax into the familiar sensation of being completely engulfed by his strong arms, you feel your heart slowly melt as his scent fills your nose the instant you hide your face in his broad chest. He holds you like this for what feels like hours and he doesnât have to utter a single word for you to know what fills his head and moves his heart. Fear, relief, love, guiltâyouâve felt them all, sometimes even all at once while looking towards him in the midst of one of your escapes and, inside this embrace, you can sense them all, hanging above your heads and weighing on his heart and shoulders.
Your arms wrap around him, tuck underneath the green jacket so that your fingers can fist the thin black shirt under it and pull him into you more so that not a single breath of air can come between your aching, broken bodies.
Jeonggukâs lips quiver, a trembling breath escapes his mouth as he lets himself break within your embrace knowing oh too well that youâll help him put back together every single splinter of his being. He breaks without a single word or sound and yet you mend him over and over again until heâs whole once more and he can smile at you anew and mean it.
He doesnât have to say anything. All it takes is one look from his glinting eyes and a nod of your head and in an instant, youâre sitting on the couch ignoring the ripped fabric and the dark stains on it in favour of the little food in your backpacks.
When you had it all, you had taken for granted many things: a roof on top of your head, an endless source of running water, good food on your table every single night. Now, you donât even have half of that and yet, thereâs a little smile on your face as you consume your dinner with your boyfriend sitting right next to you and thatâs because even the stale bread in your hands tastes heavenly after days of pure starvation.
His mouth is still filled with bread to munch on when he fishes out the map from his backpack and his eyes start scanning the names of the cities you passed on your desperate run to safety. His eyes are eager and filled with hope and excitement and he looks so breathtakingly beautiful in this momentâeven with dirt on his hands, dried blood on his clothes and dishevelled hairâthat you canât help but stare as you force down your throat the last bite of your meal.
You watch his eyes light up in recognition, you watch them scan the map again and again just to make sure and then you see his mouth open to form a little âoâ of surprise and⊠excitement?
His beautiful eyes of coal fix on you then and the most dazzling smile twists his lips up to the side. An exhilarated laugh escapes his mouth, shakes his chest as he points at the map with the excitement of a little kid in a candy store.
âWeâve made it! Fuck, weâve actually made it!â
You dart forward, steal the map from his hands to fix your gaze on it and see it for yourself. The safe haven, the refuge Yoongi and Hoseok had heard about and dreamed about every single night before they lost their fight is near, so fucking near you can almost see it now if you close your eyes and squeeze them hard enough.
The Refuge.
âHow far is it from here?â Your voice trembles, coming out as soft as a whisper as you tilt your head a little to the side just to fix your gaze back on him.
A grin welcomes your words and you can swear stars are shining in his eyes as he bumps his shoulder into yours so that he can point at the map, show you the road youâll have to walk on to get there.
âIf weâre lucky and the car doesnât run out of fuel weâll be there by the end of tomorrow.â
Just a breath. Thatâs the fraction of a second it takes for you to lean forward and crush your lips on top of his, claim his mouth at the height of your euphoria. The colony of humans, the safe haven your friends talked about every waking hour you spent together is just miles away and the promise of safety and normalcy erases everything else in an instant.
In this moment, all that exists is you and him and the hope for a better, brighter future and with your heart beating so frantically in your chest, all you can do is get lost in him, in his sweet scent, in the heavenly sensation of his fingers wrapped around your frame and his lips roughly moving on top of yours.
You grab his face to pull him into you even more and Jeongguk gladly follows, moulds under your touch to fit on top of your body as you let yourself fall on the couch while still kissing his lovely lips. Your hands are eager, your tongue relentless as it seeks his own through his parted lips and the excitement and adrenaline mix together and build until what is driving your every movement is passion and desire and need.
A low grunt moves past his lips as you tug on the long strands of hair on the back of his head and he doesnât have to open his eyes to know thereâs a wicked smirk painted on your lips, a little knowing smile prompted by the fact that you know way too well how much he likes that, especially when heâs far deep inside of you, rocking his hips furiously to reach his high and bring you down with him.
Your fingers leave his curls in favour of his jacket to move it past his shoulders, let it fall along his arms until heâs unceremoniously throwing it away. But it is not enough to satisfy your desire of seeing him, touching him, claiming him. So your hands hook around the hem of his shirt to lift it off of his head and Jeongguk follows your desires, lets you guide him and take control over him with the barest touch of your fingers.
A single brush of your digits on his feverish skin is enough to gather goosebumps on the flesh and blood deep down his crotch. His cheeks turn a lovely shade of coral under your gaze as you bite down your bottom lip while your eyes move up and down his half-naked body. Itâs a sight youâve seen countless of times before and yet, it still makes your mouth run dry and butterfly flutter in your stomach like the very first time.
A small smile spreads on your swollen lips the moment you catch sight of the necklace dangling from his neck. It glints under the artificial white lights of the streetlamps filtering through the windows, looking as if it were made of the purest glass on Earth. You reach out to touch the sharp point of the feather and then you take it within your grasp and tug on it until heâs falling back on top of you and your lips are tasting each other once more.
You drag your nails across his naked back ever so softly yet the sensation of the teasing touch makes him grunt and roll his hips into yours once in a form of retaliation that has you calling his name in a mix of a warning to stop and a plea to keep going. Jeongguk clearly decides it is the latter for he does it again, and again, and again until youâre fully whining his name inside the kiss and digging your nails harder into his naked flesh.
âYouâre such a tease,â you whisper atop his mouth the instant his lips leave yours just so that he can look inside your eyes and oh, that little smirk on his lips is so enticing you have to fight against yourself not to kiss him senseless right then and there.
âLook whoâs talking.â His voice is rough around the edges, laced with the desire coiling in his stomach that is making his blood boil and gather right between his legs.
You tilt your head a little to the side and let your fingers roam against his chest, stroke ever so softly the fine line of his abs just to watch them contract under your touch. You drag your hand further down his torso and you can hear the way his breath catches the moment your fingers are ghosting over his belt.
Your teeth sink into the soft flesh of your bottom lip and Jeongguk curses under his breath as you let your hands move past that belt, get inside his jeans and palm his bottom cheeks through the fabric of his boxer briefs. You watch his Adamâs apple bob up and down, his jaw slacks as you tug on his hips so that he can press his confined member against your aching core.
Your body seems to catch on fire, turn into liquid flames right underneath his intense gaze and it takes again all of your willpower to not strip him naked in a second and push him deep right inside of you. But no, you want to savour this moment, make it last throughout the whole night so that you can rekindle properly with each otherâs bodies after spending so much time running for your lives, out in the streets, unable to let yourself go and touch each other like you used to every single day before all hell broke loose.
Itâs been too long. Too long without his fingers on you, without his lips on your neck, without his sex battering yours in ways bound to make you forget your own name. Too-fucking-long.
He calls your name, wets his lips and begs with his eyes to give him more, in whatever form you prefer and you grant his silent wishes with the slow drag of your hands as they inch back towards his belt in order to free him at least from the confinement of his jeans. He releases a soft breath as you unbuckle it for him and then slowly unfasten both the button and the zipper and that same breath seems to hang in the air as your fingers palm him for the first time in weeks.
His eyes close in bliss, his head tilts a little back and you drink up the sight of him like this, already getting ruined before you can even touch him properly. Oh, the things youâd do to him and let him do to you all at once and until neither of you can keep on going any longer.
Thatâs when you attach your lips on his skin, suckle on the firm flesh of his abs until a purple rose blooms there to mark your passage, followed by another and then another until he is whining and growing stiffer under your digits.
Your hands leave his groin and far too quickly for his liking judging by the little grunt of frustration that leaves his parted mouth but that one is quickly replaced by another as you push on his chest until his back is hitting the couch instead of yours and you are the one towering over him, ready to take control.
Your mouth easily finds his weakest spot on the side of his neck and attaches right there just so you can bask in the way his body catches on fire underneath yours, in the way he canât help but arch his back a little into you, call your name and dig his fingers on the supple curve of your ass.
His skin is tender and sweet and it takes so little effort for you to mark it with your eager lips and teeth that you canât help the deep desire of wanting to mark all of him and turning it into a painting of roses in the shape of your mouth.
You close your eyes and let your lips trace every corner of his neck, his clavicles and shoulders and you almost turn deaf to his pleas and whines and sighs of ecstasy. You almost lose yourself completely in the effort of mapping every inch of his skin until nothing is left for you to claim any longer and you have no choice but start all over again.
It takes his hands tugging on your shirt to rip it off of you for you to stop and it takes his mouth on your neck, his hips twitching underneath yours, his voice calling your name, for you to subdue completely and let him strip you of all of your clothes once and for all.
Jeonggukâs fingers tremble with the excitement growing stronger and stronger in his system and they turn rough on your tender skin as they finally get the chance to stroke and pull and feel it under his digits. Itâs your turn to close your eyes and tilt your head back, itâs your turn to surrender to his desire-driven touches and mould and melt underneath it. It is your turn to whine and sigh and call his name and Jeongguk drinks up every second of it just like you did and the more he watches you like this, the more he touches you like this, the drunker he feels and the drunker he wants to get because hell, he had almost forgotten how sweet you taste on his lips, how heavenly you feel tightly wrapped around him, how breathtakingly beautiful you are like this, towering over him with nothing but desire filling your gaze.
The bare thought of your walls squeezing him oh so blissfully is enough to make him groan and claim your lips once more while his hands start inching down to where you desire them the most. The touch is simple and slow and yet you arch your back for him, roll your hips on top of his just to feel his length brush against your sleek core.
His teeth grasp your bottom lip, pull it down in a way that has you hissing in both pain and excitement and you canât help but roll your hips once more, bask in the sensation of his turgid member right between your southern lips. You tilt your head back as his lips find your neck once more, attach to the soft spot underneath your jawline to leave his mark thereâsomething he knows to be your utter weakness.
A breathy sigh of elation escapes from your lips and you feel him smile against your skin, you feel his teeth dragging across your neck just so he can playfully bite your jawline next and tease you further.
You whisper his name and it sounds like a plea to his ears and one that he is more than glad to take on because damn, he has missed touching you like this more than he even realized. The more his mouth kisses you, the more his fingers brush against your delicate flesh, the more he feels compelled to.
So he explores your body more, basks in the way you sigh for him, arch your back, roll your hips, call his name and abandon yourself to his every touch. It is at the apex of your arousal and frustration that his fingers finally find the treasure right between your legs, the sweet spot he had been craving all this time.
The pads of his fingers brush against the sleek skin to gather your juices and slowly bring them up to his mouth so that he can taste them and hum as he sucks his own digits like he would if they were covered with honey instead.
The scene is so lewd it prompts a grunt to leave your parted lips while the arousal deepens right between your legs, coiling down to his own turgid member. You watch his eyes zone in onto your dripping sex, you watch them light up with wanton desire and it is then that you beg him, truthfully beg him to lay his hands on you.
âTouch me, please.â
The plea is nothing more than a pained whimper and yet it rings loud and clear into his ears and, oh God does it work because in a fraction of a second, those fingers that were inside his mouth find your core again and this time, they are there to stay. His digits press hard against your swollen clit and draw deep circles onto it while his eyes fix on your face to catch the way it morphs with pleasure.
He drinks up every little whine, every flutter of the eyes, every tilt of the head, every single bite of the lips, every little quiver of your body on top of his.
âLift your hips, baby.â His voice is hoarse as he speaks those words, laced with all the arousal clouding all of his thoughts and the fire you can see in his eyes makes your head spin and your mouth run dry. The way he wants you, the way he plans to claim you over and over again on this ragged couch are so clear in his gaze you canât help but whine in utter anticipation and follow his every instruction.
So you leave his neglected cock and lift your hips high enough for him to drag down his fingers and play with your folds instead. His touch is soft at first, tentative even, but all the more enticing. It makes your desire grow deeper, it makes your body quiver with impatience and expectancy and he loves every little second of it. To torture you like this, to slowly drive you insane before throwing you over the edge of utter bliss makes him feel absolutely dizzy and just like an addict, it keeps him wanting more of it.
âYouâre so wet,â he mutters under his breath and you let out a strangled whine in response that has him chuckling lightly underneath you. The teasing glint in his eyes, that little smirk that pulls his lips slightly upwards to the side make you want to lean forward and kiss him until you run out of breath but oh, that thought gets swiped away in an instant by the sudden intrusion of two of his fingers right inside your sex.
Your head falls backwards, your muscles tense and your jaw slacks as your walls contract around his heavenly fingers, adjusting to the stretch so quickly he has another finger plunged deep inside of you in an instant. You call his name once more, let a trembling breath escape your parted lips and Jeongguk takes that as an encouragement to pump his fingers in and out of you. The pace is torturously slow and it has you wetting your lips over and over again whilst your arousal grows bigger and bigger, trailing down your thighs.
His fingers curl into you and you hiss, bite your bottom lip and go rigid on top of him and the sight is so beautiful he does it again and then once more just to see you crumble and tremble and give in into the impossible pleasure spreading through your limbs like liquid fire.
He lifts himself up enough to bring his mouth to your naked breasts and envelope one of your nipples with his soft rosy lips. You gulp down heavily and find purchase onto his raven locks with one of your hands while the other one ventures out between your lifted legs to seek his erection and brush your fingers against it.
The little grunt of appreciation that comes with the simple touch spreads a smile on your lips, encourages you to wrap your fingers around it to pump it a few times, spreading your juices all over his hard length.
âI want to feel you,â you mutter under your breath and Jeonggukâs teeth pull a little on your turgid bud making you hiss in both pleasure and pain.
When his eyes fix on you, a long shiver runs down your spine. Goosebumps gather on your flesh and your heart turns rampant in your chest, âThen ride me, baby.â
The pressure of his fingers inside your core disappears as quickly as it came and it leaves you startled, contracting around nothing but thin air and mourning the sudden loss. His invitation, though, hangs in the air heavy like stones and thick like fog. And it is that invitation, the temptation in taking the lead that prompts both of your hands to push on his chest until heâs flat on the couch once more, looking up to you with all the desire burning deep inside his stomach.
It is still him that guides you, though, encourages you to take command and make him yours. Itâs his fingers that wrap around his length to align himself to your dripping sex. Itâs his free arm that wraps around your stomach and pulls you down so that you can finally meet his member and itâs still him that pushes you down just enough for the tip of his cock to brush against your sleek folds.
Wetting your lips, with your eyes pointedly fixed on his, you sink onto him then, ever so slowly, just so you can bask in the sensation of being filled up to the brim for the first time in weeks and let it last for as long as possible. Jeongguk lets out a sigh underneath you, his eyes closing as he lets go to the blissful sensation that is your walls contracting around him, welcoming him back with a tight embrace that already menaces to cut his oxygen intake short.
His free hand finds the supple curve of your ass and wraps around it as you sink completely onto him and let out a pleased sigh at the sensation of him filling you whole.
You find purchase on his chest as you lift your hips back up ever so slightly and when his eyes find yours once more and lock you there, you start moving on top of him.
The lewd sound of skin slapping on skin fills the empty apartment, quickly followed by your soft sighs, readily amplified by both of his hands squeezing your bottom cheeks.
Jeonggukâs mouth hangs open, his eyes fixed on your face as you quicken your pace on top of him, rolling your hips every now and then just to hear his grunts, just to feel his nails dig into your flesh more and in a way that is bound to leave half-moon shaped marks scattered across it.
You arch your back a little and lean back to rest your hands on his knees instead and roll into him faster, pushing him deeper until heâs brushing against your cervix in that delicious way that always brings you crumbling down in the span of a few minutes.
The guttural sound that escapes from deep down your throat makes him desperate to hear more and to feel the delectable way your walls would squeeze him at the apex of your high. It is then that one of his hands leaves your bottom cheeks in favour of your swollen bud, the very trigger of your pleasure.
The way you call his name then drives him absolutely insane, convinces him that his name has never sounded so beautiful before and oh, it turns his fingers fervent, prompts his hips to roll up into you to meet you halfway, faster and deeper and thatâs how you lose your battle for control, that is how you end up giving in to him and letting him claim you with everything he has to offer.
Jeonggukâs hips snap into yours in time with the furious pace of his digits atop your clit, drawing perfect circles on to it that turn you blind and deaf to your own screams and mewls of ecstasy.
He calls your name with a deep grunt but you cannot hear it when your ears are ringing so loudly, when your heart is beating so fast inside your chest it might explode soon, when your vision completely disappears and your body starts to quiver on top of his as you lose control.
The pleasure hits you like an unexpected wave of cold water and it steals your breath and sanity away. You come all around him mewling out loud his name and in that moment it doesnât matter that you might stir awake some monster, that you might reveal your location to the nightmares waiting for you, no, all that matters is the pleasure and how absolutely paradisaical this moment feels.
Jeonggukâs eyes of charcoal are the first thing you see when you finally open yours, when the pleasure subdues and you come back down on Earth, to the here and now. And itâs those eyes of fire that make you rock your hips into him, that make you lift your ass and slap it back onto his thighs hard and fast.
The sounds that erupt from his mouth are like music to your ears and they guide your every movement and oh, youâd bring him down with you like this over and over again but Jeongguk begs you to slow down, to let him enjoy this moment a little bit longer until he has no choice but to paint your walls white.
âTurn around, baby,â he instructs after wetting his lips, his voice deep and hoarse and filled with the passion and desire driving his every movement, his every word.
His legs spread to welcome your ass right between them and as you find purchase on the couch, you let your sex sink back onto him, rejoicing in the new stretch this position provides.
A string of curses escapes his mouth drawing a little wicked smirk on your lips and prompting your hips to snap into his harder. Your hands are both sprawled on the couch to keep yourself standing enough to keep this perfect angle that is bound to turn the both of you absolutely insane.
Your body is still quivering with the aftermath of your first orgasm and the lightheaded sensation that still lingers in your system makes your hips move furiously on top of his, drawing all kind of beautiful sounds from his parted lips.
You turn your head back enough to fix your eyes on his face, watch the way it morphs with pleasure. You call his name once, twice in a row and Jeongguk grunts and snaps his hips back into you, hard and fast to the point heâs about to erupt deep inside of you. You can see it in his eyes: the desire, the wanton need, the desperate search for his own release and the more you look at him like this, the more he fucks into you like this, the faster your heart beats, the harder your blood flows in your veins.
Jeonggukâs hips slow down, his bottom lip trembles with the breath that escapes from his lungs and he doesnât have enough time to utter his next words, to explicitly say what he so desperately desires from you because you push your hips back once more, roll them onto his turgid shaft and fuck yourself on him, impale yourself on his cock until you are crumbling, breaking to tiny pieces right within his grasp.
Jeongguk canât take his eyes off of your quivering limbs, off of your ass still bouncing up and down in front of him, off of his cock plunging deep in and out of you. It is then that he takes the lead once more, pushes you flat on the couch so that he can stand on his knees and pound deep inside of you.
His hips snap into yours so hard and fast you donât have a spare second to catch your breath, to allow yourself to come down from this impossible high. You mewl his name as his hands find purchase on the small of your back and he roughens up his pace, grunts your name in a row, tells you how impossibly good you feel so tight around him, squeezing him to madness. And you drink up all those words, eat them up like a famished woman on a deserted island and oh, do you galvanize him even further with your sighs of ecstasy, with your pleas for him to fuck you harder, faster, stronger.
If you close your eyes you can almost see his luscious thighs, the way his ass snaps with his hips as he pushes deep inside of you, the way his back contracts with the effort of keeping himself standing right above you, the way sweat shines on his golden skin like fine pearls. You can almost see his raven hair getting wet and stick to his forehead and to his neck and oh, how youâd love to tug on those strands, elicit a hiss out of him and throw him over the edge just like that but instead, itâs Jeongguk that leans forward to grasp your hair, tug on it until you have no choice but arch your back and tilt your head back.
Your eyes open to bore into his as you bite your bottom lip for him, heave out a sigh of ecstasy that is quickly followed by a string of pleas for him to cum right inside of you like this, fill you up to the brim on this ragged couch inside an apartment that isnât your own, in a city you have never seen before.
Jeongguk grasps your neck then, pushes his fingers on the soft skin deep enough to cut the oxygen intake in half and then he kisses you fully on the mouth, claims your lips with the same ferocity set right between your legs and just like that, you come once more and as your orgasm coils down your thighs and soils the couch further, he shoots his pleasure deep inside of you. You feel his hips snap and still as he lets out a deep grunt of liberation, you feel his hands quiver on your neck and on the small of your back, you hear the stream of little curses that leave his mouth as his orgasm just keeps on coming and coming and coming and you donât have to look to know his eyes are trained on your sex, dripping with the mixture of both of your pleasures.
The sight of you like this leaves Jeongguk breathless, it leaves him wanting more of this, more of you, it leaves him wishing he could fuck you just like this for the rest of your lives without having to think about anything else outside those four walls. His fingers leave your neck then, allow you to breathe in freely as he slowly drags his cock out of you in favour of his mouth because hell, ever since you started undressing him, this is all he could think about.
His tongue brushes against your sleek folds and a deep shiver runs down your spine, followed by a whimper. You call his name softly in question, you tilt your head a little to the side just so you can glimpse at his face but Jeonggukâs answer comes in the form of his tongue flattening completely atop your sex and in the deep grunt that erupts from deep within his throat. The taste of your pleasure mixed with his own is inebriating, quite potentially addicting and so very sweet he just canât help but gather it all on the tip of his tongue, careful not to waste a single drop of it.
âYou taste so good, baby,â he mutters under his breath and you shiver at the lewd words, at the way his eyes are still trained on your sex with all that passion burning deep inside of them.
Your body falls completely on the couch then, your ass slightly tilted upwards to offer him the perfect view and angle to keep tasting you like this with his relentless tongue.
He laps at your folds, lets his tongue move right between them to gather the nectar he so desperately craves right from the source, oh so delectably deep within you and when you start trembling slightly, when soft sighs start leaving your pretty and swollen lips, he decides to attack your clit too, suckle on the sensitive bud until you are fisting the couch beneath you and begging him to keep on going even though you know you cannot take much more, even though literally every single muscle in your body is aching right about now.
His hands grasp your hips, keep you perfectly still as he devours you whole and he doesnât stop, not even to catch his breath, until youâre a quivering mess all over again, mewling his name and coming all over his face. And Jeongguk, oh, he loves every second of it and still makes sure to welcome every drop of your pleasure on his tongue to gulp it down and feed on its sweet and sour taste as if this were the very first time.
Your body gives out and you let yourself go completely, close your eyes while coming down from your high and every word that leaves his mouth is muffled by the loud ringing in your ears, by the heavy breaths that leave your heaving chest, by the loud drumming of your heart.
Itâs the tenderness of his touch, the way his arms envelop you whole that bring you back to the present, to the empty apartment and itâs his lovely lips on your forehead as he pulls you up to welcome you in his tight embrace that keeps you from falling into a deep slumber.
âYou look like youâre about to fall asleep,â he whispers, chuckling slightly at the way you hum while closing your eyes, genuinely fighting against the need to just shut down and recharge.
He hums then, places another soft kiss on your temple and tangles your limbs together while making himself comfortable on the raggedy couch.
âSleep then, baby. We have a big day ahead of us and I want to leave as soon as we can after going out to find some food.â
A smile forms on your lips then and you nod your head a couple of times. Yes, for a second you almost forgot about your dream and how itâs about to become reality, how close you are, at last to the final destination.
So tonight, you fall asleep with no fear of tomorrow, you fall asleep in the blink of an eye without having to trick yourself into closing your eyes and shutting down all of your thoughts. Tonight, for the first time in weeks, you sleep peacefully in his arms without a single nightmare coming to haunt your dreams. Tonight, the happy memories running through your head behind those closed lids do not burn and turn to ashes, no, they shine brighter than a thousand suns because, for the first time in weeks, you actually believe they could turn into reality soon.
There are some things you can feel in your guts long before they happen. They just sit there, on the pit of your stomach, to make you nervous, nauseous and restless even though you donât know what they are just yet.
When you wake up and lift your head from his naked chest just so you can stare at his beautiful, peaceful face, you instantly know itâs one of those days. The nervousness sips into your system all at once, cutting your breath short, turning your heart into a caged bird eager to escape. Yet, you donât utter a single word because today itâs a big day. The day.
You donât say a word when he kisses you as soon as he wakes up nor when he makes plans for your departure. You donât even say anything when he puts his almost-empty bag behind his back and walks out the door to scout for some food to bring with you on your trip to salvation.
A lot of words are wasted and gulped down, trapped in the deepest recess of your being where no one can see them or hear them except yourself. And those words menace to choke you, to burn you and consume you until nothing but ashes are left as you wait for him sitting on that same couch you made love on top of last night.
You wait. And wait. And the seconds tick by turning into minutes that turn into hours and the longer you wait, the worse you feel and itâs when your head is starting to spin, when it becomes too hard for you to breathe, when itâs impossible for you to focus on anything else that isnât the worst-case scenario that you finally get up from the damn couch, pull the backpack on your shoulders and leave the apartment.
Smoke welcomes you back into the real world outside your happy bubble. It stings your eyes, it makes them water and has you coughing out in desperate need of clean air and you know the wiser thing would be to run back to the relative safety of the apartment but the uneasiness in your stomach grows bigger and bigger, dilating like oil at sea, menacing to take over every single cell youâre made of. So, you walk. Walk away from your pretty perfect house, the one you built out of cards last night even though you knew it was going to inevitably collapse soon, the one where you sought peace and happiness and hope for a bright future. You leave it all behind because you have no other choice but to.
The eerie silence of the city is one youâve experienced countless of times before and therefore you know itâs nothing but the quiet before the storm hits, a trap to make you lower your guard enough for the monsters to attack and take you down with them and as you walk through the deserted and unknown alleys, the feeling of being followed and watched takes over, prompts your legs to move faster just in case you need to start running for your life.
Youâve never been out on your own before. You always had Jeongguk to guide you, to protect you. It takes just a few minutes on your own out there to realise how much you depend on him, how bloody helpless you are on your own out here in the real world where nothing goes according to plan and you canât count on anyone except for yourself. Again, you realise how lucky you had been all your life, how many little things you took for granted and it makes you wonder if this isnât some sort of punishment or even a lesson being taught to whole humanity so that one day, the few survivors can learn from it and not repeat the same damn mistakes theyâve made before.
The sound of your name breaks the silence, cuts it in half, rips it to shreds. You whip your head around in the direction of the sound and itâs Jeongguk that you see right there, running through the wreckage the monsters have left behind in that unmistakable way that can only mean one thing: run or perish.
So you outstretch your arm for him, lace your fingers together and start running right alongside him without asking a single question and without even looking behind your back.
Your heart soars with relief and gratitude for his salvation and that emotion slightly subdues the uneasiness in your stomach, slowly puts it to sleep as your feet hit hard on the bitumen while you trace your steps back to the apartment, its four safe walls and most importantly the car waiting for you there, that very car that promises to take you the hell away from all of this once and for all.
Your grasp around his fingers tightens and as it does, his eyes land on you and that little smile of his twists his lips, at last, to bring warmth to your heart and body, to bring peace to the raging war inside your head.
The apartmentâs door slams shut behind your backs and you both press your bodies on it to keep it firmly shut as you try and catch your breath. It is only when you feel his body relax against yours that the words come out.
âWhat happened?â
Jeongguk grimaces, shakes his head while closing his eyes while a little sigh escapes his lips, âI let my guard down. I was so sure those fuckers were far away deep down the cityâs core I was surrounded in an instant. There were so fucking manyâŠâ
Your hand comes to his cheek and he leans into the touch immediately, without even noticing. The warmth of your touch placates his heart and brings his eyes on you. They are sweet and filled with love and you canât help but lean in to kiss his lips.
âItâs ok. Weâre alive and weâre about to get the hell away from here.â
Jeongguk smiles at you, nods his head a couple of times before pulling you fully into him, wrapping his loving arms around you and then resting his head in the crook of your neck. He insists that your perfume still lingers there up to this day and it doesnât matter how much you tell him it is not possible, that any trace of your favourite perfume has long gone, he still claims that as his favourite spot that tastes and smells just like you.
Your fingers find purchase on his shirt, tug on it to bring him even closer, so close there is not a single inch of your bodies that is not touching and itâs right then that the bubble bursts, at last. It takes nothing more than a small touch, a little brush of your fingers against his skin.
Jeongguk hisses in pain and your heart stops.
Jeongguk releases you from his embrace and his eyes full of horror and dread fix on your face, cutting the air out of your lungs.
Jeongguk lifts his shirt up to reveal a red, bloodied mark on his left hip and your world crumbles for the second time in just two weeks.
Jeongguk takes in a sharp, trembling breath and tears start rolling down your cheeks as you furiously shake your head, frantically denying to yourself the truth laid out right before your eyes.
Jeongguk calls your name, puts both of his hands on your cheeks to brush the tears away but itâs a lost battle when they keep coming and coming like water pouring out of a splintered dike.
Tears fall from his eyes too. Thick as pearls, clear as glass, rare as diamonds. And you hate them because the more you look at them rolling down his cheeks, the more real it gets.
âN-no, no, Jeonggukie, no,â your bottom lip quivers, your voice breaks, your body trembles under his gaze as if an earthquake has been trapped right inside of you and itâs now breaking loose, erupting deep within you.
You choke on your tears as you grab both of his arms with all the strength you have left in you, pull him into you as if that would stop the venom from spreading and taking his beautiful heart away, âPlease.â
You donât know if your plea is for him to tell you that itâs going to be ok, that this is just a nightmare, nothing to be scared of when youâll soon open your eyes anyways and realise how stupid you were being or if itâs for some deity up there to help you, to grant you another miracle.
You donât know but either way, it falls on deaf ears and it doesnât matter how much you cry and scream and beg and pull him into you, nothing changes.
You had your chance, didnât you? You were granted a wish, a proper miracle back inside that car less than twenty-four hours ago. That was it, that was your first and final ticket and you carelessly used it, without even thinking, without even⊠You break. There are a million tiny pieces of yourself right there on the ground, sprawled across the dirty floor like an impossible puzzle to rearrange.
âBaby.â His voice is soft. No trace of the fear he feels right inside his heart, not a single trace of the anger and despair running through his veins. His last gift to you, the only thing he has to offer, it would seem, is his feigned peace of heart and mind, âBaby, listen to me.â
You donât want to listen because deep down, you already know what heâs going to say and you do not want to hear those words, you donât want to have to remember them ever leaving his mouth. So you fight him, yank away from his arms, try to run from him and the new reality that youâve been thrown into but there is no hiding, no running this time. Itâs game over, right there above your heads, written in crooked and red all caps.
âListen to me!â
It would be easy to close your eyes and let yourself drift inside that happy land full of memories you retract to whenever things get too intense and heavy but his eyes are filled with raging fire, dancing flames of coal that hold your gaze on him, trap you there so that you canât escape, not even for a second, not this time.
âThere is a gun inside my bag, I want you to take it andââ
âNO!â The scream that erupts from your mouth scratches your throat, burns you from the inside out with the same force of those flames still trapping you there, within the tight grasp of his hands on your shoulders.
âPlease, baby,â one of his hands moves to caress the top of your head and you close your eyes to relish into the touch knowing it will probably be your last. You lean into his hand as it reaches one of your cheeks once more and the softest sob escapes your parted lips as you try with all your might to deny the fact that it is over, that this is it and there is no going back.
âPlease donât make me do it,â your voice breaks, quivers helplessly as you open your eyes once more, fix them back into his beautiful, shining ones. You can see the pain there, the guilt and despair laced with the fear of doom but what you see is nowhere close what Jeongguk really feels.
Heâs scared. Scared beyond belief and far more than he has ever been. Heâs scared of the unknown, heâs scared of the pain, heâs scared of leaving you behind like this, of what will happen to you once he is gone and nobody is left to protect you. He is scared of what youâll do to yourself after he⊠but he has no choice, he has no fucking say in all of this and he hates himself for everything. He hates himself for being weak in his final moments, for not having the courage to do it himself but most importantly for allowing this to be your last time together. It shouldnât be like this, it wasnât supposed to be like this.
But all these thoughts, all those words, they never leave his mouth. No. What comes out of his mouth is a reminder and a plea, all in one.
âYou promised. We promised.â
It hits you just like a slap across the face, one so hard it would tilt your head to the side and turn the skin tender and boiling hot to the touch.
You remember that night. Sleeping under the stars in a dark alley trying to breathe as silently as possible to not gather the attention of the monsters roaming through the city, you laced your fingers together and promised with nothing but the night sky as your witness to never let yourselves become one of those soulless monsters. You promised while praying in your heart itâd never come the day either one of you would have to abide by it.
And now here you are.
âDonât let me become one of them, baby, please. I donât want to hurt you, I donât want to hurt anyone.â
Tears roll down his cheeks, harder and faster than ever before and each droplet breaks you a little more until truly, you feel like nothing of you is left. In this moment, you give up everything youâve ever been. In this moment, you rip your soul to shreds and part ways with it knowing youâll never be reunited with it in this life.
The sense of void engulfs you, swallows you whole and all you can hear are his words on repeat and oh, all you can see are those beautiful eyes of his pleading you to do it and you donât know if itâs your hands that reach for his backpack to seize the gun nestled inside of it or if someoneâor somethingâelse is guiding your trembling fingers but, in an instant, the gun is there, right within your grasp and pointed straight to his head.
Jeongguk is looking at you and he tries to smile, tries to regard you with all the warmth filling his heart but he canât hide the fear that is trapping him there, cutting the air out his lungs, turning his heart restless against his ribs. He fears everything but what he fears the most is what heâll become if he doesnât die right here, right now. So he forces himself to smile, he forces himself to nod, he forces his eyes to close and a sigh to move past his lips.
The bang echoes in your ears.
The bullet goes right through his head and yet you can fill it stuck right inside your heart instead, twisting into the flesh until you cannot breathe or think and all that is left is the pain and the scream of agony that leaves your trembling lips.
The gun slips from your quivering hands and hits the hard ground and your eyes fix on it long enough to notice the pool of red tinting the floor, soiling the carpet, slowly reaching for your shoes.
His blood.
You fall on the ground and break into tiny frail shreds of porcelain, so sharp they could cut deep into the skin, infiltrate under it and kill you from the inside out.
Your quivering hands are lost inside your hair, fisting them so hard you might pull them from your skull but you do not care nor feel any of the pain spreading through your body. No, not now when your eyes are fixed on what remains of his beautiful face.
Those eyes that used to hold galaxies in them are void now, dark and lifeless like a night sky without a single star. Those pretty rosy lips you kissed until yours ached are now pale and turning cold, stuck in a perpetual âoâ of utter shock. Those warm and delicate hands that used to hold you, caress you, explore you are now grasping nothing but the thin air and you open them to lace your fingers with them one last time.
One.
Last.
Time.
The desperate cries come then.
You are deaf to your own screams, blind to the tears coiling down your face, oblivious to the way your body shakes with each strangled breath, with each inconsolable sob. You throw yourself on his motionless body, rest your head atop his chest as if he were nothing more than asleep and you cling to his shirt begging him to hug you back just like he used to, reassure you that itâs all going to be ok, that this is just another one of your crazy nightmares, that none of this is real.
But when you open your eyes heâs still lying motionless on the ground, his eyes are still void and staring up at the ceiling and his arms are still sprawled on the floor and not tucked around your body to keep you safe. And the worst part of it is that this is all because of you. You did this to him.
The bang echoes in your ears again, louder and louder with each passing second and closing your eyes doesnât work anymore because now, all you see behind those closed lids is his dead face and those bottomless black eyes.
Everything breaks inside of you, everything shatters and falls helplessly on the soiled floor to join him and fly away with him to a place far away from here. And oh, how much you wish you could join him, that you could pick up that damn gun, point it to your head and just let the last remnants of your soul go so that you wonât have to face this or live through this a second longer but you donât and you try to tell yourself itâs because you are a coward, that itâs because deep down you want to survive no matter what because it would be easier to accept that, it would be easier to just loathe yourself and think the most despicable things about yourself but, alas, it wouldnât be the truth. No, even now, even when his eyes cannot see you anymore, even when his voice cannot reach you, and his hands cannot hold you, youâre still doing everything for him.
If you close your eyes, if you focus on the silence surrounding you hard enough to tune out the loud bangs ricocheting through your consciousness, you can almost hear him begging you to keep on living, to keep on fighting for your dream so that his death is not in vain, so that not everything is lost. But even still, it is not enough for you to lift yourself up, for your legs to move and bring you out of this apartment, out if this forsaken town. It is not enough for you to actually stand up and fight for your life, for a chance at survival, for an actual future. So you stay there, on the floor, with your arms wrapped around him and your head resting on his immobile chest.
And you remain there for hours, crying until there are no tears left to cry, until your eyes burn and your throat aches, until the sun goes down and you are enveloped in darkness.
You stay there, motionless just like him except for the steady rise and fall of your chest and not even the noises coming down the hallway, not even the sound of steps startle you, prompt you to leave him behind and run to safety.
Your eyes move to the door as it swings open and youâre almost ready to welcome your end without even trying to put up a fight but it is not a monster that stands right there, on the edge of this apartment door. No, itâs a human and that human is pointing a gun straight to your head.
âFuck!â
The man curses, takes a step back and pulls his gun away from your face to point it on the floor instead.
âYouâre human.â He says and you notice how deep his voice is, warm like honey and comforting like a loverâs hug, âI almost shoot you in the head.â
The manâs eyes look kind even though the shock is still written all over his face but that warmness disappears in an instant as he finally takes in the scenery before him: a pool of blood, a pair of void eyes staring straight up at the ceiling, a gun abandoned on the floor not too far away from your feet.
It is clear from the way he looks at you that heâs seen this before, probably even lived through it and the tenderness in his gaze, the way he takes careful steps towards you, the way he softly calls for you with a simple âheyâ, oh, they all bring the tears and despair back and within seconds you are sobbing all over again and so hard your body shakes and menaces to actually splinter with the force of your pain. It is then that this strangerâs arms engulf you, surround you just like the tallest and safest towers ever created by mankind and you let him because you need this, you need someone to hold you together even for just a few seconds and even if you donât know his name and he doesnât know yours.
âJoon, the whole floor is clear, looks like we found somewhere for a good nightâs sleep tonigâohâŠâ
Thereâs another man standing at the door now, his eyes big as saucers as he takes in the scene before his very eyes and you watch how his mouth opens and closes as he struggles to put together the whole thing and honestly, if this were a movie it would almost be amusing and comical but even the hope to wake up and discover it was all part of a nightmare, a recreation of your mind after watching a stupid horror movie alone in the middle of the night is now gone, completely erased.
âYes, bring the others in, weâre going to stay.â
The other boy looks up at the stranger still holding youâJoon?âwith questioning eyes but doesnât dare to speak a single word and instead retreats to the end of the corridor in utter silence.
âItâs just four of us,â he says then, looking down at you with a tender smile, âWe need somewhere to stay for the night and you probably shouldnât be alone right now.â
He welcomes your silence with a slight nod of his head and then his arms are gone and you almost reach out for him to beg him to keep you in his embrace until youâre sure youâre not going to break apart into thousands of pieces but you donât. Too afraid to ask, too scared to even dare to.
âWeâre headed to the Refuge. Have you heard of it? Itâs quite close at this point, if the rumours are true. Itâs a community of humans that has successfully kept those fuckers out.â
âWeâŠwe were going there too.â Your voice is small and croaky, barely above a whisper but in the silence of the apartment, he hears your words loud and clear and responds to them with a hum.
âYou could come with us.â
His words are simple yet they startle you, they prompt your eyes to fix back on Jeonggukâs lovely face and suddenly you are hyperventilating because no, you canât leave him behind like this, you canât leave his body here for those monsters to feed on. You just canât.
The strangerâs arms are around you in an instant once more, his voice is soothing in your ears as he tries to calm you down, to stop the tears and the choking sobs but all his words fall on deaf ears as you start breaking apart all over again. You scream and cry your heart out and he lets you, he doesnât leave your side again though, no, he keeps you right there within his embrace and he doesnât give up and it does not make sense for someone youâve barely even met to care so much about you, to have this much patience but maybe, maybe after seeing so much horror, after parting with so many different people just like you did he decided not to leave anyone else behind if he can, not even random girls met in an empty apartment in a forsaken, nameless city on a crumpled map.
âI know itâs hard but itâs going to be ok, I promise. You canât give up now, ok? Weâre so close, so freaking close and I didnât know him but if he cared about you just as much as you evidently care about him, Iâm sure heâd want you to move on, heâd want you to fight and win this battle and survive.â
His words do come through this time and they should probably soothe your heart but they break it harder because no, he didnât know Jeongguk but then why do his words match him so well he could have said them himself? You know heâd want you to follow them, to bring yourself to salvation and wasnât that exactly what you told yourself while embracing his dead body all those hours ago?
The stranger breaks the embrace enough to look inside your eyes, to tentatively reach out to dry your tears and there is so much affection in his gaze, in the careful way he touches you, in the little dimpled smile he shows you and you already know, youâll never be able to thank him enough for all of this.
âWho are you?â Your question comes out as a trembling whisper yet he catches on to it and smiles harder, pulls his gaze away from your face as his cheeks turn a lovely shade of coral. What you meant to ask was if heâs an angel, someone sent from up above to save you and guide you through this difficult path and maybe he gets what you mean or maybe he doesnât but still, he replies and itâs the easiest answer he could ever give you, âIâm Namjoon.â
It is then, as you whisper his name and get acquainted with it that the other boy returns, followed by two more young men and their belongings which, just like yours, fit all inside a single bag.
âThis is Jimin,â the boy next to you points to the shortest one of the bunch and you watch him blush as he slightly bows down while chewing on his bottom lip. He was the one that found you and Namjoon on the ground and his eyes still spark with curiosity but he doesnât dare ask any questions and you are grateful for that.
âTaehyung,â Namjoon says, pointing towards the guy standing right next to Jimin, his fingers laced around the other boyâs in an unequivocal way that reminds you in an instant of the way Jeongguk always used to hold your hand any chance he got, especially the past few weeks.
âAnd that is Seokjin.â The last boy waves at you and the discomfort in his features is enough for you to pull your gaze away from him and fix it back on the ground.
No matter how much you try, you canât shake the fact that this is wrong, that all of this is just wrong. You staying here, those boys standing here all around you, invading the privacy of this place and what it holds in it and you hate that this is somewhat normal to themâand to youâthat it doesnât shock humans anymore to find others with holes in their heads or even worse.
Silence envelops you and none of them breaks it and it stretches on and on until you canât take it anymore, until it feels like you cannot breathe anymore.
âHe was bitten,â you utter then, voice trembling and tears falling on your cheeks slowly like fat, translucent pearls. âHe asked me to⊠I had no choice but⊠HeâHis name is-was Jeongguk.â
The boys bow their heads when you lift your head up and you can see the sadness in their eyes, the recognition and understanding that comes with experiencing all of this on your own skin, with your own eyes and maybe thatâs why you donât say anything when Namjoon slowly pulls Jeongguk away from your arms, maybe thatâs why you let Seokjin lift you up from the ground in favour of the couch, maybe thatâs why you let them touch him, close his eyes, pull him away and clean his blood off of the floor the best they can.
âWeâll bring him with us, weâll bring him to the Refuge and spread his ashes there, away from all of this. What do you say?â
âWhy are you doing this for me?â You look up to Namjoon while you hug your legs close to your chest and in that moment you donât realise how ungrateful you must sound to him, questioning him and his motives over and over again instead of thanking him with all that youâve got but he doesnât comment on it, no, he offers you a gentle smile and a little sigh that holds all the exhaustion he must feel in it.
âBecause thereâs too little of us left to not care about each other at this point.â
Those words warm your heart, they warm your shivering body and move you in ways you didnât think possible anymore. That little part left of your soul holds onto his words, onto the hope he provides and it hangs on to it with both nails and teeth refusing to let go and itâs that part of you that makes you open your mouth once more but this time, it is to offer some help and not just throw more burden to the mix.
âWe found a car. It still has fuel in it and we planned to use it to reach the Refuge.â
Maybe this was all meant to be. Maybe, you were meant to meet and save those boys and they were meant to find you and pull you back together in the darkest hour of your life. Yes, maybe it was all written in the stars and it might not be fair because life, youâve learned, hardly ever is but when your eyes land on the tall white walls of a city hidden in the mountains the following night, all the puzzle pieces fit together.
You watch the flames dance, feel the warmth of the fire on your hands, rising up to your arms and slowly reach your face like comforting hands tying to caress your body.
The heat makes your eyes water, makes your skin feel impossibly hot and yet you donât move a single inch and find yourself almost wishing those flames would actually reach out and claim you right along with him, burn you until thereâs nothing but ashes to remind the world that once, you existed. But itâs not you that burns, no, itâs Jeongguk.
You watch his lovely body disappear inside those flames: his strong arms that used to hold you, his rosy lips that used to kiss you and call your name so sweetly whenever you were together, those beautiful eyes of coal you always got lost in, that luscious raven locks you loved to run your fingers through or tug on depending on the mood⊠you watch it all burn and disappear.
There is a comforting hand on your shoulder. The touch is delicate and sweet, enough to soothe your aching soul without it being too invasive and you are glad for it, for his presence by your side.
Kim Namjoon saved you in more ways than meet the eyes. He saved you two nights ago when he found you holding Jeonggukâs lifeless body, he saved you when he put you inside that car with his friends, he saved you when he successfully brought you here, to the Refuge, where you can now freely mourn your loss and do it right. This is the first proper goodbye you were granted ever since it all started and in this moment you part ways with the love of your life but also with your family and friends, with everyone youâve ever met that turned into an impossible monster or perished before the venom could turn them into one. And you allow yourself to break a little because itâs ok, youâre allowed this one moment of weakness now, youâre allowed to cry your heart out for all the things youâve lost during this fight.
Your knuckles turn white against the necklace around your neck. The sharp ends of the feather dig into your skin and you let it, hell, you even grasp it tighter as if trying to merge your hand with it as if that could somehow bring him back or let him live right inside of you to his fullest. The tears run faster down your cheeks because this, right within your grasp, is all thereâs left of him: a necklace and your memories. Nothing more.
All that Jeongguk was, his past and present and future, they were all swept away in an instant, like dust under the force of the wind and you are the only one that remains to remember him, to tell his story to the world, to let him live on so that he wonât ever be forgotten amongst the millions of lives that were lost.
Just you, a necklace and a fist of ashes.
Itâs with trembling fingers that you release them all in the air, let his entire being be swept away by wind so that it can cover the land all around you and be reborn in this field in the form of beautiful flowers, majestic trees, droplets of water to fill the river running down the hills.
The breeze is warm against your skin and if you close your eyes you can almost imagine his fingers caressing your body just like the wind is, you can almost imagine him embracing you through this air surrounding you, playing with your hair and enveloping your body.
For the first time in days, you smile. You smile at the thought of him being finally free and at peace right where he wanted to be, you smile at the thought of him looking down at you with his beautiful eyes, with pride shining in them. You smile at the thought of him nodding his head while patting yours, you smile at the idea of his fingers lacing with yours one last time as he says his goodbye with the promise of always looking down on you, of always protecting you, even from up there where nothing goes unseen. You smile and you thank him for loving you so much, for saving you countless of times even before the zombies arrived, even before you realized you were being saved and that you even needed to.
You thank him and tell him how much you love him, how you will never forget him, how youâll keep cherishing him and keeping him right inside your heart for every second of your life from here moving forward and you repeat those promises you shared one year ago, on that altar, so that he knows you are his forever and no matter what, youâll always belong to him just like him belonged to you until his very last breath.
When the touch of a hand warms your shoulders and brings you back on Earth, for a second you startle and foolishly hope to turn around and see him standing right there, smiling at you with his head slightly tilted to the side. But when you turn itâs not Jeongguk that welcomes you, no, itâs Namjoon with his timid smile, with eyes full of wonders and understanding and this time, your smile, incredibly, does not falter nor disappear.
Namjoon doesnât utter a single word and he doesnât need to because you know, even though youâve barely met him, that he is simply there for you, that he is offering you his support and friendship amidst those difficult times and you donât tell him how grateful and touched you are but a part of you suspects he already knows.
Your eyes drift away from his face and it is then that you notice the other three boys standing a few steps back from the two of you, their eyes fixed on you and the deserted land right behind your back.
They came.
You donât know when they arrived or if theyâve been there the whole time but either way, you are grateful for their presence too because at least, someone else besides you is here to say goodbye to the wonderful man that was Jeon Jeongguk and it does not matter that they never met him and that they never will, they are still here to accompany his soul somewhere far away from this nightmare and the smile on your lips spreads while tears run down your cheeks once more.
You thank them, your voice nothing more than a trembling breath and they smile back at you, nod their heads and join you right there, at the edge of this green cliff where itâs easy to imagine a new world full of peace and love.
You look up at the sky once more and as the silence envelops you and the boys once more, you whimper out your farewell.
âGoodbye, Jeongguk.â
The grass is soft and ticklish under your feet as you walk through the empty path that leads to your favourite spot: the edge of the hill.
A warm smile spreads on your lips and you unconsciously fasten your pace as your eyes land on the vast sea of green, the clear sky up ahead, the dozens of flowers scattered all over the valley.
âHey there, handsome.â
Your voice breaks the silence of the heaven-like place, gets carried away by the gust of wind that welcomes you right there, in front of the marble stone where you are bound to be found every single day, right when the sun rises up in the sky and shines brightly on everything in sight.
Your fingers reach out to caress the marble, feel the crevices that make out his name right under your digits. Youâve done this countless of times before and yet you still hope one day theyâd get engraved in your digits and stay there to accompany you every single hour for the rest of your life.
You heave out a little sigh as you let your body fall on the ground to hug your knees to your chest and rest your chin on them.
You know this is futile, you know that there is absolutely nothing of him right there, under the ground, that this is just a symbol of his existence, of the fact that once, a great man named Jeon Jeongguk walked the Earth and yet, you still come here every day to talk to him, to see him and remember him like he used to be before everything crumbled down and burned.
This time, it feels different though. Your smile falters a little, you divert your gaze and fix it on the ground to play with the grass, pluck with your fingers whilst you search for the right words to speak because you know, the moment theyâll hang up in the air theyâll become real and part of you is still not ready to face it all, to embrace the inevitable change coming your way.
âToday is the day,â you say then before biting down your bottom lip whilst lifting your gaze back up. In an instant, the tombstone disappears and sitting right across from you is Jeongguk. His eyes are sparkling, his lips are twisted a little to the side in a gentle smile and he is nodding his head in encouragement, urging you to speak up.
âWeâre leaving in an hour.â Your voice is small and full with the uncertainty you feel blossoming right inside your heart.
Five years have passed since that night in that city in ruin. Five years spent in this Refuge trying to save and rebuild humankind. Five years of battles and uncertainties and pain, so much pain, but also joy and relief and victories and now, now the nightmare is over and what awaits for you outside this safe haven is a world similar to the one you left behind before the zombie appeared. A normal world rebuilt by those that were left behind, a world full of normalcy and opportunities and peace.
But you are scared. Scared of the future, scared of leaving this place that has kept you alive and safe for so long, scared of leaving him behind even though there is nothing of him left in this place anyways. But Jeongguk smiles at those words and itâs one of those dazzling smiles that used to make butterflies dance in your stomach, that used to turn your heart into a hummingbird, that used to make you feel as warm as the sun itself.
You can almost hear his voice then, telling you how happy he is and that you should not be afraid, that heâll still be right here for you, watching over you every step of the way.
Itâs then that the tears come and fall down your cheeks. Itâs then that you nod your head and promise him youâll be back, one day, to sit just like this on this spot of grass in front of his tombstone.
It is also then that a pair of small hands comes up your face, hides the sight of Jeongguk from you, throwing you into a pitch-black darkness that instead of fear brings nothing but laughter.
âMy, my, who is this? Could it be my little monkey, by any chance?â
Yoonaâs laugh fills the air as you turn around and welcome her in your embrace to tickle her to the point of tears. Her eyes shine as she looks up at you and you can see so much of him in there sometimes itâs almost painful to look at her but today, today it serves as a reminder that youâll always have a part of him right beside you, no matter what.
âIâm sorry, _______. I tried to buy you a little more time but she just wouldnât sit still.â
Namjoonâs voice reaches you then and as you lift your eyes you watch him stand there with his apologetic smile, dimples in full display as he shakes his head while watching your daughter struggling under the torture of your fingers on her belly.
âItâs ok, donât worry. I was done anyways.â
You smile at your kid, bump your nose together with hers and hug her tight to your chest. Sheâs your little miracle, the very last gift he left behind before turning into ash and when you thought all of you was gone, when you thought youâll never be able to love anyone else anymore, she came your way and filled your heart with all the love of the world.
You hear Namjoonâs steps as he walks away, allowing you one last moment with the love of your life and this is just one thing more to add to the list you are immensely grateful to him for. At this point, you are convinced not even an entire lifetime will be enough for you to be able to repay him or thank him enough for all that he has done for you all these years.
âAre you ready to leave, baby?â
Yoona nods her head in excitement. Sheâs the adventurous type, just like her dad used to be, and the thought of seeing the outside world thrills her so much she could barely sleep last night. This place is all sheâs ever known, all sheâs ever seen but you told her about the world outside those high walls made of stone, you told her stories about faraway places that look nothing like the Refuge, you told her fairytales from your childhood but also memories of yourself, her grandparents, her father and now that this world sheâs been dreaming about is suddenly within her grasp all she wants to do is reach her little arm out and grasp it with all her might.
âAre you sad, mommy?â Her little palm rests on your cheek and it is then that you realise a few tears have escaped your control once more. You quickly brush them away but that is not enough to bring the smile back on her lovely face, to erase the worried expression twisting her features. âIs it because of daddy?â
She turns around towards the tombstone then before reaching out her little arm to feel the characters that make out his name under her digits, just like you always do.
You know she is caressing his face now, that sheâs making sure he knows how much she loves him even though she has never seen his face before, even though she has never heard his voice before and all she can do is imagine, fantasize and dream about him.
âWill daddy be sad if we leave?â
Her voice is small and your heart breaks a little and oh, it takes all your strength to keep the tears from falling now, to hold the pain deep inside of you where she canât see it.
You tighten your grasp around her, rest your chin on her tiny little shoulder so that you can place soft kisses on her cheek and reassure her that itâs ok, that youâre going to be ok and that no matter what, heâll always be right beside her and all sheâll ever need to do is close her eyes to see him and feel him all around her.
âNo, baby girl. Daddy will always be with us, no matter where we go and heâs happy, so so happy weâre going on a little adventure.â
She smiles a little, nods her head a couple of times before diverting her gaze to the necklace around her neck. She grasps the feather with her tiny fingers, brings it to her lips to kiss it lovingly and then she turns to you and the storm seems to have passed, just like that.
âBecause heâs right here, right?â
She brings the necklace towards your face and you nod a couple of times before pointing right to her heart, âAnd right here.â
Yoona smiles her brightest smile and untangles from your embrace in favour of the tombstone. You watch her throw her arms around the marble stone and hug it tight to her chest and then you hear her whisper her farewell wordsâGoodbye, daddy. I love you.âand oh, your heart breaks all over again in an instant. And you would break too, right then and there, if it werenât for her little smile and for Namjoonâs voice pulling you out of your thoughts.
âWe have to leave soon.â
His voice is apologetic and full of understanding and you offer him and your daughter a gentle smile as you finally rise up from your spot.
Your baby throws her arms around your neck as you lift her up and warmth spreads through your body as you hug her closer to remind yourself why you are doing this, why you are leaving all of this behind. For Yoona.
Namjoonâs hand finds your shoulder then as he throws one of his arms around you and even though he doesnât speak a single word, you hear all of the things he wishes he could say to you and when you look at him, you silently thank him over and over again like you have been doing every single day of these past few years.
But your last words in this place are not reserved for him, no, they are for Jeongguk and only for him to hear.
Goodbye, my love. I will always love you.
A gust of wind caresses your cheeks then and you smile at the bright sky above your head because deep down, you know this is him touching you and when you close your eyes, just for a second, you can hear his voice through the gentle breeze, whispering right inside your ears.
Donât fear, my love. Iâll always be by your side. I love you.

âPlease come with me. I canât go by myself,â I whine at Jennie who sits on her bed, watching me in amusement like sheâs watching a film or TV show.Â
âNope, and I already told you why; I donât want to see him, not after what happened,â she says, and I roll my eyes as I order an Uber. âSo youâre really gonna make me go by myself? What if I get drugged, or beaten up, or raped, or murdered, or-â ây/n!â she exclaims reproachfully, and I shrug, âit could happen.â âWell, it wonât. Loads of our friends are there. Wendy and Irene and Seulgi, Yeri and Joy, loads of people,â she lists off. âYeah, and theyâll be there, too,â I sigh. âWell, I mean, it is at their house,â she says, holding back a laugh, and I stick my tongue out at her.
âYou know what I mean. I hate them â jocks are so unbearable. Itâd be better if you were there,â I say, pouting. âYouâre a liar, you donât hate them. Just him,â she points out. âWell, what if he tries something? Heâs so strong, he could literally lift a car if he wanted to-â âBit of an exaggeration, donât you think?â she says, and I roll my eyes again. âYou know what I mean. The point still stands that heâs strong â youâre the one that saw him at the gym lifting more than your body weight. And remember when he knocked one of the players on their opposing team to the floor in that match last year, and he was literally twice his size. If that guy couldnât take him on, how can I?â âAnd you think I can? Iâm smaller than you, you idiot.â âBut youâre scary.â âYouâre scarier than me,â she says mildly, and I sigh. âPlease, Jen. Itâs not even that big of a deal, what happened. If anything, itâs more embarrassing for him than for you,â I say, trying so hard to persuade her. âIt is a big deal. It only happened yesterday â I at least need to give it a couple days before I can face him again.â âFine, Iâll go by myself. If Iâm not home in the morning, itâs on your head,â I say dramatically, pulling on my heels.
âDonât be like that,â she reprimands before launching into a speech, âyou look absolutely gorgeous and the boys will be all over you, so donât do anything I wouldnât do, and if you do, please use a condom. I donât need you bringing an STD back with you. If thereâs an emergency, or you need me to pick you up, call me. Make sure you keep me updated on whatâs going on. Donât drink anything anyone gives you â pour your own drinks. Make sure youâre always with one of the girls.â âOkay, okay! Iâll see you later, mum!â I exclaim, and she laughs, pulling me into a hug. âBe careful, y/n,â she says gently, and I nod. âWhen am I not, Jen?â I say, and she raises an eyebrow. I leave our dorm and head down the corridor, opting to take the lift instead of the stairs â these heels arenât that high, but I donât want to take any risks.
My Uberâs already there by the time I get outside, so I jump straight in. The journey there is short (not short enough to walk in heels, though) and within five minutes, weâre pulling up in front of the house. I climb out, the driver instantly zooming away, and I look up at the house in front of me. Itâs much bigger than and further away from the rest of the houses on the street, and it has its own little pier out onto the university lake, perfect for drunken skinny-dippers at the end of the night. I head up to the porch, the Greek letters for Alpha Sigma Phi hanging above my head, and push through the slightly open door. The party is already in full swing, loud bass-heavy RnB pulsing through the house, people already drunk and dancing, the smell of drugs thick in the air. I push through the throng of my classmates into the kitchen where I know my friends will be. The lowered volume in the kitchen is brief; only the moment before my friends notice me is quiet. ây/n!â they all shout, and I jump in surprise. ây/n, you made it!â Wendy shrieks, throwing her arms around me. âOf course, I wouldnât have missed it,â I say, hugging her back. ây/n, you look good!â Yeri exclaims, holding me out for her to admire. âThank you, Yeri, but look at you! Absolutely gorg!â I donât get to hear her reply before the rest of my friends greet me, all of them dressed up and drinking. âLet me get you a drink. What do you want?â Irene asks me, and I scrunch up my face in thought. âIâll just have Diet Coke for now â I donât want any alcohol,â I say, and I feel a hand appear on my waist. âLightweight,â I hear his teasing voice, and I canât stop the big sigh I let out, accompanied by my signature eye roll.
âWhere are your pom-poms today?â he asks, and I turn to look at him, the smell of vodka strong on him. âI was wondering how long Iâd have without you bothering me,â I say, fixing him with a dirty look. Iâve always thought of him as tiny, but he really isnât â I have to tilt my head back slightly to look at his annoying face because of how close to me he is (he most definitely has lifts in his shoes). And itâs not just his face, thatâs annoying, let me tell you that. Itâs everything about him. And shall I tell you why? Because itâs all perfect. Everything about him, physically, is infuriatingly perfect. His legs are long and toned, his waist cinched and his frame slim, with vascular hands adorned in silver rings, matching with the silver earrings hanging from his ears and the silver Chanel necklace around his neck (how he can afford Chanel jewellery whilst at university, I donât know). His lips are plump and glossy, like a Bratz doll, and his eyes are a deep chocolaty brown, framed with dark lashes. His jaw is sharp, his cheeks chubby, and his black hair is soft and fluffy, swept back to reveal the tan skin of his forehead and dark, bold eyebrows. Long story short, heâs beautiful, on the outside. The inside is a whole other story.
âBothering you? More like gracing you with my presence. Remember, this is my party, and there are plenty of other, more⊠willing girls I could be spending my time with, but I chose you. You should be honoured,â he says with a grin, and I scowl at him. âHonoured?â I echo as Irene hands me a red solo cup with the Coke in it, âitâs not your party. Itâs Alpha Sigma Phiâs party.â âAnd what does everyone think of when they think of ASP? This handsome face and the perfect dick that comes with it,â he says, preening, and I roll my eyes again. âCan you not be so annoying and full of yourself all the time?â âI can be whatever you want me to be, babe,â he says lowly, thumb swiping across his plump lips, and I blink, heart jumping which pisses me off â my own body betrays me when Iâm with him. âWell, whatever. I donât think of you when I think of ASP. I think of a bunch of douches,â I shrug, changing the subject back, and he grins even wider, obviously amused that he managed to make me flustered. âNow, now. Is that any way to speak about your friends? Iâm sure the other boys would be offended to hear you speak about them like that,â he says, plucking the cup from my hand and taking a sip. âWell, let me correct myself. Youâre the douche,â I say tiredly, and he grins. âYou wonât be saying that for long. Youâll be eating your words when you feel how good my cock is,â he forebodes, handing me back my cup, completely empty. âI donât think Iâll be able to feel anything,â I mutter, throwing away the cup, and he chuckles. âOh, y/n, you do amuse me,â he grins. âOh, Park, the feeling is most definitely not mutual,â I say in a bright tone, a fake smile plastered on my face. âGood talk, y/n, Iâll see you later,â he says distractedly as he moves away from me, watching a sophomore thatâs just walked in with her friends, wearing a skimpy dress. Sheâs pretty and looks nice, but I canât help but dislike her instantly, surprised at myself for being so bitchy.
âWho are you shooting lasers at?â Joy asks. âPark Jimin,â I spit out, turning my dirty looks to him instead. Or rather, his back, as heâs now facing away from me, speaking to the sophomore. âCradle robber,â Joy observes, and I laugh. âI wouldnât quite say cradle robber â weâre only a year older than her,â I point out, and Joy waves my words away. âStill. Anyway, are you drinking?â she asks. âWell, I did have a drink, but he took it and downed it,â I say, motioning to Jimin whoâs now got a hand on the girlâs arm. She looks up at him with a sweet smile, her eyes wide and big, and I almost want to go over and warn her away, knowing heâs just looking for someone to fill his bed for the night. âWell, Seulgi brought Malibu, and I know you like it, so here,â she says, pushing an unopened bottle into my hand and disappearing back into the throng of people. âThanks,â I say to the spot where she was just stood, plucking a clean cup from the packet, pouring out some of the rum and mixing it with coke (an unopened bottle â Iâm no rookie). I also find some straws and pick out a pink one, dropping it into the cup. Just as I begin to take a sip, a pair of big hands clap down onto my shoulders, making me jump and I choke on my drink.
âOh, shit, sorry. You okay, y/n?â I hear Namjoonâs voice as I cough again and again. âDo I look okay?â I ask once Iâve stopped choking, my eyes beginning to water and my face warm. âSorry, I didnât mean to,â he says reproachfully, holding back laughter. âIdiot,â I mutter, taking a seat on one of the stools around the kitchen island (these trashy dirty frat boys donât deserve such a nice house). âSorry. Anyways, how are you?â âI was fine before you tried to kill me. What about you?â âUm, good, yeah. I saw you speaking to Jimin,â he says, triggering an eye roll. âHeâs such a pain in the ass. Iâm gonna file a restraining order.â âGo for it, Iâll file one too. So, you, um⊠did you come by yourself?â he asks, rubbing at the back of his neck, and I raise an eyebrow. âDonât be a pussy â say it with your chest,â I say in a bored tone, and he sighs. âDid Jennie come with you?â he asks quietly. âNo, she wasnât feeling too well, so she stayed back at our apartment,â I grin, and he puts a hand to his forehead. âSheâs avoiding me, isnât she? Urgh, Iâm such an idiot.â âI canât argue with you there,â I reply, and he scowls at me. âSorry. But, itâs true, you are an idiot. I mean, what on earth were you thinking?â I say, failing to hold back my laughter. âI didnât know that she would be out there. If Iâd knownâŠâ he trails off. âYou wouldnât have run across the pitch butt naked?â I ask, and he slaps a hand over my mouth, looking around to see if anyone heard. âKeep your voice down! I donât want people knowing. I lost a bet, and I did it at night-time so no one would see. How was I supposed to know sheâd be out there?â he says defensively, and I shake my head at him in disgust. âYouâre a mess. And, anyway, yes, of course sheâs avoiding you. How can she look you in the face again properly having seen you completely naked?â I say, struggling to hold back laughter as I think back to Jennieâs face when she walked into our apartment after going somewhere quiet to speak on the phone to her sister, Rose â there was a party going on in the apartment next door, so she went on a walk, conveniently running into (a naked) Namjoon. âOh, go suck Jiminâs dick,â he says half-heartedly. âGo flash Jennie again,â I retort, and he flips me off before disappearing.
I stay in the kitchen the majority of the night, catching up with all my friends. Itâs been a while since I had a chance to socialise; settling back into the Uni schedule after a long summer is tough, especially when you have an entire cheer team to lead. And cheering isnât easy! People think we just run around in skimpy outfits, chanting and waving pom-poms, but there is so much more to it than that â Iâd go as far to say that cheer is one of the hardest sports you can do. I spend so much of my time choreographing and working out to keep fit and planning routines and deciding positions for the team. It requires a lot of dedication and time to get everything done before the season starts. But obviously, a lot of my peers donât have to dedicate their time to things like that and are used to partying, opting to get black out drunk at these frat parties instead of socialising with their friends. Only three hours after my arrival, there are people passed out all over the place, bedrooms occupied, and drunken students dirty dancing in the living room. Sat in the same stool as three hours ago, I watch Yeri flirt with a senior, feeling proud of my girl. She catches me watching and I put my thumbs up to her, giving her a big encouraging smile, and she quickly looks away for fear of laughing out loud.
âSo, as I was asking before we got side-tracked, how have you been? How are you finding junior year?â he asks, and I raise an eyebrow. âWhy do you care, Park?â I ask, and he grins. âWhy wouldnât I care?â âBecause we donât like each other.â âI like you,â he smirks, head resting on his hand, arm leaning on the countertop. âNo, you donât, and I sure as hell donât like you.â âWhy do you keep lying to me, and to yourself, y/n?â âIâm not lying. Just because youâre attracted to someone, it doesnât mean you like them,â I say, regretting the words as soon as I see the mischievous light in his eyes. âYouâre attracted to me?â âThatâs not what I said.â âIt pretty much is, y/n. But itâs okay, I knew that already. Itâs just nice to hear it out loud. Well, I hope thatâs what you were referring to, and not to me being attracted to you, because that certainly isnât true,â he says, my body going cold at hearing his words as my jaw drops. I turn to look at him, a shit-eating grin on his face, and I want to slap it off.
âYouâve got to be fucking kidding me,â I say, and he just gives me an infuriating grin. Now, let me make something clear. Park Jimin isnât that bad. Annoying, flirty, egotistic? Yes, exactly, and everyone loves him for being the star player on the team, which makes it worse. But I can deal with him. Heâs not really⊠the bane of my existence, or anything like that. But he is the most irritating person Iâve ever met. Heâs like a chipped nail on a fresh set, or a bird chirping outside your window at 4am when you have an exam. But this? This is on another level. How, how on earth, has he managed to turn the tables onto me like this? âWhat dâyou mean?â âWhat do I me- I mean that you flirt with me every opportunity you get!â I say, voice getting a little louder with annoyance, and he raises an eyebrow, still looking annoyingly laidback, his smirk and my anger growing at the same rate. âSo what?â âSo⊠if youâre flirting with me that often, youâre attracted to me. Youâve made it clear youâre attracted to me,â I say slowly, starting to wonder if Iâm missing something, and his grin grows impossibly wider. âJust a bit of fun, isnât it? Doesnât mean anything,â he says with a little shrug, and I try to hide the way his words hurt.
âFine. Go have a bit of fun with someone else, then,â I say savagely, facing away from him and crossing my arms over my chest, and yet, he seems nothing but amused. âDonât be like that, babe,â he says easily, reaching for me, and I slap his hands away, ignoring the pet name. âNo, leave me alone,â I say sulkily, and he raises an eyebrow at me as he rests a hand on my thigh, lips twitching when I donât brush it off. âCome on, baby, I was just kidding,â he smiles serenely, and I turn a scowl to him. âWell, I didnât find it funny, so go find some other girls who will,â I spit at him, and heâs holding back a laugh, which infuriates me even more. âBut those girls are boring. You arenât. So stop being bratty,â he says, and my mouth falls open slightly, my eyes fixed on his stupidly handsome face. âBratty? Iâm being bratty?â I demand, and he nods, lips slightly quirked up at the ends with amusement. âYes, angel, you are.â âWell⊠youâre being a dick.â âReal mature,â he says with a roll of his eyes, and I scowl. âSays you, you fucking manchild.â âWow, you really are a brat. Iâve apologised, like, twice. Get over it and stop being so stubborn.â âIâm not being stubborn! âYou are.â âAm not.â âAre too.â
âWow, you two are children,â Jungkookâs voice comes from beside us, and we both turn to look at him. âHow long have you been there?â Jimin asks moodily, and Jungkook grins, dropping me a wink. âLong enough to see that you two need to stop fucking around and⊠fuck,â Jungkook says, and I scrunch up my nose in disgust, leaning away from Jimin. âDonât ever say that again. I hate him,â I spit out, putting emphasis on the word so he understands that I truly mean it, and he rolls his eyes again, taking a sip of his drink. âYou donât have to love each other. Hell, you donât even have to like each other,â Jinâs voice comes from behind me, and I turn to him with a hard stare. âSeriously? Who fucks someone they donât like?â I say, both Jungkook and Jin laughing. âLots of people, actually. Honestly, y/n, I promise you, itâs better when you donât like each other. No strings attached, no obligations afterwards, and you donât have to think about whether it feels good for them,â Jungkook explains, and now my entire face is scrunched up in disgust. âThatâs the worst thing Iâve ever heard anyone say. You men are disgusting,â I say, giving Jimin a pointed look, and he gasps. âDonât look at me! Iâve never done that!â Jimin exclaims defensively, and I raise an eyebrow. âYeah, right.â âHeâs telling the truth,â Jin says, and I turn my raised eyebrows to him. âSure.â âNo, seriously, he never has. Everyone Jimin fucks adores him, so heâs never known the joy that is hate sex,â Jungkook says, he and Jin laughing as I give them a disgusted look, Jimin suspiciously silent. âJin, Jungkook, Jimin, come dance with us,â a high-pitched female voice calls from the living room, all four of us looking to see a group of skimpily dressed freshmen beckoning the boys over. Jin and Jungkook waste no time, practically leaving us in their dust as they rush to join the girls.
I look to Jimin, who hasnât moved a muscle, still with a stormy expression on his face. âWell? Go dance with them,â I prompt, and his features smooth out before a small smirk curls his lips up. âIâd rather stay here, babe, with you,â he says, and I grit my teeth, trying not to swing for him. âYou didnât hesitate to leave me earlier for that sophomore,â I say despite myself, knowing I sound petty, and he chuckles. âJealous, baby?â he asks, and I let out a sigh, having had enough. âIf youâre not going to go, Iâll go,â I sigh tiredly, getting up from my stool, and heading towards the living room. He grabs my hand as I pass him, turning me around to face him, and I want to pull my hand out of his grasp, but the second I turn to see those big brown eyes on me, I freeze. And I hate it. How can he be such a dick to me all the time, so flirty but then so cold, and I forgive him every time because heâs handsome? How? âWhat do you want me to say, y/n? That youâre prettier, way prettier than the sophomore girl, and those drunk freshmen dancing in the living room? That youâre prettier than every girl in this damn house? Is that what you want?â he asks, actually sounding sincere for once, and my heart jumps at the compliment. I hate it. I hate him.
âNo. I want you to leave me alone,â I spit, wrenching my arm from his grasp, and he lets out an amused chuckle. âGood, because I hate lying,â he says with an easy grin, and that little voice in my mind just says, âohâ as I stop still. âYou know what? Fuck you,â I whisper, feeling tears in my eyes as I turn away from him, ready to go home. âYou should be more polite, angel,â he calls after me, and I canât help myself, turning to look at him. âWhat?â âI said,â he replies, getting up from his stool before downing his vodka (I hope itâs mixed with something because he doesnât wince at all), making me wait until he says, âyou should be more polite. A request like that? You could at least say please.â My blood boils, anger actually consuming me as all I can see is red, and that stupid fucking smirk on his stupid fucking face. âYouâre such a fucking dick, Park. I donât know who the fuck you think you are,â I rage, stepping closer to him, and he just carries on grinning at me. âGo on, babe,â he says when Iâm silent for a moment, jutting his chin out to prompt me, and I want to actually slam his head into the wall. âJust fuck off. I canât deal with you right now, go find someone who adores you so you can stick your tiny dick down her throat,â I spit at him, his face twisting with anger at me using his friendsâ words against him (or at calling his dick tiny â Iâm not sure which), and I stomp towards the back door.
I push open the door, storming through and narrowly avoiding colliding with a group of boys passing around a joint. âOh, hey, y/n!â Taehyung exclaims when he sees me, a big grin on his face. âHi, Tae,â I say quickly before rushing up towards the road, pulling my phone out of my pocket to order an Uber. âYouâre leaving?â I hear Jimin call after me, and I let out a scream of rage, whirling around to face him. âHow many times do I have to tell you to leave me the fuck alone?â I shriek, the few people outside watching us with interest, Jimin marching up towards me. âNo, you donât get to say your piece and leave,â he spits out, jaw clenched in anger, and I look skywards, throwing my hands up in despair. âSay what you want to say, then. Go on,â I prompt, voice shaking with anger.
âYouâre such an uptight little bitch, y/n. You fucking mope around in the kitchen at parties, donât touch the drugs and barely drink, thinking youâre so high and mighty and above the rest of us. You canât even take a fucking joke and you turn it into something serious by fucking insulting me!â he shouts, and Iâm a little shocked and a lot hurt, the people around letting out little noises of embarrassment on my behalf. âAre you kidding me? Just because I donât turn into a messy fucking disgrace at parties, doesnât mean Iâm uptight!â I shout back, taking a step towards him, and he lets out a humourless laugh. âSee? There you go again! Itâs called having fun, y/n, you should fucking try it some time!â âI have fun, you dick!â âYeah, okay, sure you do. You were sat by yourself at a party. Do you know how sad that is? And me, being the nice guy I am, come to sit with you to talk, and youâre just fucking rude to me!â âNice guy? You have to be joking! Youâre not a nice guy, and you never have been! Youâre entitled and egotistic and canât keep your dick in your pants! You canât take a hint, and even when I tell you explicitly to leave me alone, you donât!â I shout, both of us moving closer and closer to one another. âIâm trying to be nice, for fuckâs sake! I donât understand why you tell me to leave you alone!â âI donât understand why it is so hard for you to accept the fact that I. Donât. Like. You,â I say in his face, emphasising every word, hoping he finally gets the message.
âYou fucking liar,â he says lowly, taking another step closer to me, centimetres apart from me. âExcuse me?â âI said that youâre a liar. You do like me,â he says, eyes dark as he looks at me, and I scoff, trying to ignore how tense I am now that heâs this close to me. âI promise you, I really fucking donât,â I laugh, our voices much quieter now, everyone around us still watching the exchange, straining to hear our words. They must be confused to see a girl not falling at the feet of great Park Jimin for once. âStop lying, for once, y/n! Discard your pride, for fuckâs sake! You think Iâm stupid?â he asks, getting even closer to me, so close that his chest brushes against mine, my skin igniting at the touch, and I curse my body for betraying me. âYou think I donât see you literally fighting the smile off your face when I compliment you? You think I donât feel the way you shudder when I touch you? You think I donât notice how you lean towards me when weâre sat together? You think I donât see the way your breath catches in your throat when I talk about the things Iâd do to you? And itâs sexy, itâs really fucking sexy, and itâs so fucking hot when you play hard to get,â he whispers, his tone harsh but his words making my entire body feel like itâs on fire because, yes, I fucking hate him, but God, heâs hot as hell. And then he makes me want to strangle him by saying, âbut you ruin it by being so fucking uptight and taking a stupid little joke to heart.â
I let out a disappointed sigh, opening up the Uber app on my phone. ây/n. What the fuck are you doing?â he asks, an edge to his tone, and I ignore him completely. âAre you ordering a fucking Uber?â he demands, sounding incredulous, and I continue to ignore him, knowing itâll piss him off even more. âIâm trying to fucking speak to you and youâre ordering an Uber? Can you stop being so fucking immature and, like⊠talk to me? Put down your fucking phone, y/n,â he says slowly, and I can practically sense how heâs trying so hard to keep a hold of his temper â I can see him clenching and unclenching his fists, the vessels in his hands more visible than ever. And then he snatches my phone out of my hands. âWha-â I start to say, looking up at him, but Iâm startled into silence when my eyes meet his. Iâm good at riling him up from time to time, but I have never seen him this angry, not even when heâs playing football. His eyes are dark, cheeks flushed with rage, jaw and fists clenched so tight that Iâm worried he might shatter a bone, and I actually feel scared. âGive me my phone back, Park,â I say tiredly, and he lets out a mirthless laugh before turning away from me and heading back towards the house, tucking my phone into the back pocket of his tight black jeans.
âFor fuckâs sake,â I say before following him â Iâve got too much pride to run after him, especially in heels because my clumsy ass will fall over. âPark, I swear to God,â I call after him, the onlookers laughing. Iâm glad they find it funny â Iâm just tired, fed up and I want nothing more than to go to bed. He disappears into the house, and I speed up a little, knowing if I lose him, it could take ages to find him in that huge ass house, packed full of people. ây/n, babe, wait,â I hear Yoongi say as I pass their group again, feeling him grab onto my hand. âYoongi, not now. Heâs got my phone.â âI know. He told us to distract you,â Yoongi admits, and I let out a noise of frustration as I pull my hand from his grasp, rushing into the house before another of them can grab me, narrowly escaping Taeâs reach. I see him disappearing into the living room, and rush through the kitchen, pushing through the few people stood around the counters, but I freeze when I reach the living room door. A load of ASP boys are lining up coke on the coffee table with their credit cards, Eric Nam who lives in our accommodation block is passed out at my feet, and a group of girls from the sorority up the road are grinding on each other in the middle of the room, Jungkook in the thick of the throng with his hands on Nayeonâs waist. My eyes scan the room, and I spot jet black hair disappearing into the front hall. I seriously consider just leaving my phone and getting Namjoon to call me an Uber, but my passcode is basic as hell (123456) and I donât need Jimin snooping around my socials. Or worse â my camera roll.
I step over Eric, narrowly avoiding Momoâs hands stretched out to grab me and dance with me, and sidestep the table covered in coke, bursting into the front hallway where Seulgi stands with Kai, one of the spotters on our cheer team. âHey, babe!â Seulgi exclaims when she sees me, and I grin at her, momentarily distracted from Jimin. âHey, Seulgi. Hi, Kai. Have you guys seen Jimin?â I ask, both of them looking at me in confusion. âPark Jimin?â Kai asks, and I nod, a little impatient. âHe just went upstairs. Why?â Seulgi asks as I begin to run up the stairs. âHe stole my phone,â I shout over my shoulder, ignoring Kaiâs shout of, âUse protection!â At the top of the stairs, more of my friends are sat in a circle on the landing, handing a bottle of vodka around. âHey, y/n,â Mina says when she spots me, the others all greeting me too. âHi, guys. You seen Park Jimin?â I ask, all of them exchanging a glance. âYou two about to resolve the sexual tension?â Dahyun asks with a wiggle of her eyebrows, and I roll my eyes. âNo, heâs got my phone.â âOoh, worried heâll find your nudes?â Jackson asks with a smirk, and I fix him with a hard stare. âHeâll never guess the passcode for âMy Eyes Onlyâ so Iâm not worried,â I say evenly, and I have to hold back a laugh when the boys all exchange a glance. âAnyway, did you see where he went?â I ask, getting even more impatient now. âHe went upstairs â his roomâs up there. Second door on the left,â Jeongyeon says, everyoneâs eyes turning to her now. âHow do you know?â Jinyoung demands, and I take the moment of them being distracted to sprint up the stairs. With every step, I feel the anger inside me grow, all of the times heâs pissed me off over the past couple years building up within me. I hate him, really fucking hate him, and this is just the last fucking straw.
When I reach his room, I donât even bother knocking, bursting in. And when my brain registers that heâs lying on his bed, with the pretty sophomore from earlier on top of him, all I can see is red, my hands shaking with fury. She looks up at me in surprise, Jimin completely ignoring my presence and continuing to press kisses to her jaw. âI swear to fucking God, Park, Iâm going to murder you,â I say slowly, voice wavering with anger, and the girl has enough sense to get off him. âIâm really sorry, I didnât know he was in a relationship,â she says, sounding truly apologetic, and I feel bad for her. âHeâs not. Youâre welcome to get back to your thing in a minute â I just want my phone,â I demand, eyes flitting to the bed where heâs leaning back on his elbows, watching our exchange with amusement. None of us say anything for a few moments, the poor girl caught in between mine and Jiminâs feud.
âIâm being serious, Park. Give me my fucking phone before I cut your dick off,â I threaten, knowing Iâd make good of it too, but he doesnât move a muscle, just watching me with eyes sparkling with mirth. âYou know what? Iâm gonna leave you guys to resolve whatever the hell this is,â the girl says, heading to the door. âIâm so sorry,â I say, truly feeling bad, and she turns back to look at me, stood in the doorway. âDonât be. I think youâve helped me dodge a bullet. If anything, Iâm sorry for you, being involved with him,â she says quietly, making me laugh, and she laughs too. She really is a nice girl. âThank you. Iâll see you around. Iâm y/n, by the way,â I say, and she nods. âI know. Iâve been thinking of trying out for cheer, and everyone Iâve spoken to said to go to you,â she says, and I let out a little noise of excitement. âOh, my God, you should! You look like youâd be a good flier, and weâre running short of fliers at the moment!â I exclaim, completely distracted, and she grins. âI used to fly at high school, so Iâd definitely like to give it a go.â âThatâs great. Try-outs are next Saturday, at 12, and Iâll keep an eye out for you. Whatâs your name?â âPark Jiwon. Do I have to sign up or anything?â âWell, you missed sign-ups, but Iâll put your name down. Just show up,â I say with a grin, and she smiles back. âThank you, y/n. Iâll see you on Saturday.â âSee you, Jiwon,â I smile, the girl heading towards the stairs with a wave.
When I turn back to look at Jimin, heâs right there in front of me. He pushes the door shut and then slams me up against it, knocking the air out of me before pulling my shoulder bag off my arm and throwing it across the room, the chain strap making a loud clanking noise when it hits the wall. Heâs so close that all I can smell is him â the vodka heâs been drinking, his expensive aftershave and⊠something thatâs just him. âYouâre so fucking hot when youâre jealous, and angry with me. Love getting you all worked up, baby,â he spits out, voice so low it sounds like a growl, and Iâm speechless, literally speechless, his words igniting a fire low in my stomach. âYou had plenty to say earlier, babe â why so quiet now?â he asks, eyes dancing with amusement, and I look to the side, unable to hold his heavy gaze. âDonât even think of turning your head away,â he spits out, my stomach turning when he raises a hand to my chin, moving my head back to face him so my eyes canât escape his. He holds my head in place, and the feeling of his hand resting loosely around my neck sparks arousal deep within me, my mouth drying. But I have too much pride to submit to him. âGive me my phone,â I demand, and he lets out a chuckle, dark eyes not leaving mine. âI donât know about that, angel. What will you do for me in return?â he asks, pressing his body against mine so Iâm trapped up against the door, and my eyes widen. âNothing. Itâs my phone,â I say slowly, unable to believe how entitled he is. âItâs mine now,â he grins, my mouth falling open. âClose your mouth before I spit in it, baby,â he says, my mouth falling open even more in shock, stomach churning, arousal burning hot in my veins. âDonât tempt me,â he growls, pushing my mouth closed.
âGet on your knees for me and Iâll consider giving you your phone back,â he grins, and I canât even say anything because heâs holding my mouth closed. âIs that a yes?â he asks teasingly, and I make a noise of frustration, looking down at his hand to try and get him to move it. With a sigh, he removes his hand, and I snap, âget your hand off my neck, and give me my fucking phone, Park.â âI always thought youâd be into choking. You seem like a dirty little slut,â he grins, hand still not moving, my underwear flooding at his words. âI swear, Park, I will fucking kill you.â âSo you really, truly want me to let go of you? You really want to just get your phone and go?â he asks, words dripping with amusement, testing me. And I canât, I just canât discard my pride â itâs too painful for me to concede to him. âYes,â I spit out, and his face twists with anger.
âWhat is wrong with you, y/n? Why canât you just fucking let go of your pride for once? I know you want me, Iâm not fucking stupid! Weâre both attracted to each other so why canât you just stop fucking around and let me fuck you? Iâm not going to do anything without your fucking consent, y/n, Iâm not a fucking rapist! Why are you making this so fucking hard for me?â he demands, rage making his voice shake, and I donât know what to say. âIâŠâ âYou what? Go on, fucking speak,â he prompts, jaw working overtime as he waits for me to answer, hand still resting around my neck, his silver rings cool against my burning hot skin. âI do like choking,â I breathe out, giving the only form of consent to him that my pride will allow, his face blank for a moment. âWhat?â âI said⊠I do like choking,â I whisper, his eyes lighting up slightly. I hold a finger up against his lips to stop him explicitly asking, hoping heâll understand from my gaze. âSure?â he asks, plump lips moving against my finger, my heart warming at him double checking, and I nod. âIâm sure,â I whisper back, and thatâs all he needs to hear.
His hand tightens at my neck as he leans down, lips landing on mine. He kisses me, harshly, forcefully, his tongue sliding into my mouth within moments, turning my mind to slush and emptying my head of any thoughts other than how good he is at kissing. His free hand grips my waist, bruisingly tight, as my hands run through his hair, the soft and fluffy black locks tangling between my fingers, and he tastes like the citrusy vodka he was drinking, with the sweet undertone of my coke (the soft drink â not the drug). âOn your knees,â he growls, and I laugh against his lips. âNo.â âNo?â he asks, sounding amused. âNo.â He breaks away from me, looking down at me, heavy breaths escaping through his swollen lips. âWanna say that again, babe?â he asks, his gaze intimidating, but I donât let myself break. âI said ânoâ. Iâm not getting on my knees,â I say forcefully, matching his serious stare with one of my own, and he lets out a little chuckle. Hand still around my neck, he grabs my arm with his free hand and pushes me towards the middle of the room before letting go of me and sitting at the edge of the bed he was lying on a few minutes ago, another bed on the other side of the room empty. âStrip,â he commands, and I cross my arms over my chest, raising an eyebrow. âI swear to God, y/n, do not fucking test me. Take off your fucking clothes,â he spits out, the rage from earlier reappearing, and I decide to follow his instructions, but have a little fun while I do so.
I grin at him before I slide my hands across my torso, slipping my fingers beneath my top and pulling it up over my head, slowly as I possibly can, leaving me in just my black lace bralet (my top was too thin to wear a padded bra). Once itâs off, I throw it to him, and he deflects it with a quick hand, just about stopping it from hitting his face. He sends me a hard glare (though I can see that heâs trying to hold back a laugh behind it) but it disappears the second I flick open the button of my jeans, pulling down the zip too, his gaze darkening. Heâs so intimidating that I canât help but feel self-conscious at undressing in front of him, but then I spot the growing bulge in his jeans, and it makes me feel a little better. I turn away from him, kicking off my heels, pushing my jeans down my legs and bending over to give him a view of my ass, covered by my black lace pants, and I know thereâs probably a slightly darker patch between my legs. I straighten up again, stepping out of the denim pooled at my feet, and turn back to face him. He runs a hand through his hair, a smirk on his lips as he beckons me over with the curl of a finger. I step towards him and he reaches out, grabbing me by one wrist and pulling me onto his lap. He tilts his head back to kiss me again, my fingers tangling into his hair and nails scraping against his scalp as he digs his hands into my back, our bodies pressed together almost painfully. He pulls my bottom lip between his teeth before laving his tongue over the sore skin, making me let out a whimper against his mouth.
âFeels good?â he asks cockily, and I want nothing more than to take him down a peg, so I ignore him, just continuing to kiss him. âI asked you if it felt good,â he says against my lips, hand reaching behind me to gather up my hair and pull my head back, exposing my neck to him. âAnd I ignored you,â I reply, voice shaky, as he kisses up and down my neck, pulling the skin beneath my jaw between his teeth, marking me. âPetty⊠stubborn⊠uptight⊠bratty⊠little bitch,â he says between marking my neck and skin around my collarbones, shaky breaths and little whines falling from between my lips every few seconds at the feeling of his tongue laving over the bruises caused by his perfect teeth and plump lips. âIâll break you, y/n. Youâll be begging for my cock by the time Iâm done with you,â he says, lips curled into a smirk against my skin, and I let out a laugh. I lean down, my lips against his ear, and whisper, âless likely than you scoring a goal in the first match of the season. Which we all know is very unlikely.â He scoffs, lifting me up and putting me down over his lap, my ass sticking up the air.
âSafe word?â he growls, sounding almost reluctant, and I feel a thrill at the thought that heâs planning on doing enough to me that I might need a safe word. I think for a moment, and his grip on my thigh tightens before he spits out, âhurry up.â âHow about⊠small dick?â I ask, biting my lip to hold back laughter (I really do find myself funny), but my amusement quickly disappears when his hand delivers a solid slap to my raised ass, making me let out a small squeal of pain, and I look back at him with a glare. âSmall dick it is,â he says cheerfully with a grin at me before reaching out to turn my head away from him. âYouâre being punished, bitch, you donât get to look at me,â he spits out before his hand lands down heavily on my ass again, in the exact same spot as the previous slap, making me yelp in pain. I begin squirming in his lap â this spanking is not it, but he holds me firmly in place, landing another slap on the same cheek, and another, and another, and-
âPark, cut it out!â I shriek, my ass stinging with pain, and I just know heâs grinning. âSafe word?â he asks, and I bite my tongue, knowing I canât give in this easy. âThatâs what I thought,â he says cheerfully, before wrenching my pants down just past my ass, his hand, spread wide, to land across both cheeks with every slap. I squirm on his lap, still trying to escape, but heâs strong, holding me still and spanking again and again. And then the pain begins to ebb away into pleasure, my yelps of pain becoming desperate whimpers, my pussy practically drenched. With one slap, his skin is inches from the place I need him most, and I canât stop the moan that escapes my lips. âEnjoying being spanked like a dirty little bitch?â he asks, stopping the tirade of slaps on my ass, but I stay silent, too proud to admit to it. The spanks continue with my silence, my ass burning with the pleasurable pain, and when heâs finally deemed it enough, he rubs a hand over my cheeks, the metal of his rings providing relief for my stinging skin.
âYou okay, y/n?â he asks, momentarily breaking from his hard demeanour, my heart warming despite myself. âYeah, Iâm fine,â I reply, sounding breathless to my own ears, and he chuckles. âYou took your punishment well, for a little brat. What do you want now, babe?â he asks, and Iâm silent, too proud to tell him. âWell, youâre obviously deciding to be a stubborn little bitch, so we can sit here like this all night,â he says, and I look up to see him with his arms crossed over his chest, looking relaxed and smug. I let out an annoyed huff, looking back at the ground, and I wait a few moments to say, âtouch me.â âWhat was that, angel?â he asks, hand beginning to rub over my sore ass again, reliving some of the pain, and I sigh. âTouch me.â âI am, baby,â he replies easily, hand continuing to skim over my stinging skin, and I let out a frustrated whine. âYou know what I mean, Park!â I exclaim angrily, and he chuckles. âIâm not sure I do, babe. Spell it out for me,â he prompts, endlessly amused, and I clench my jaw in anger. âCan you touch my pussy?â I snap, and he chuckles, making my blood boil. âCan I touch your pussyâŠ?â he asks, and I let out another angry noise, not wanting to be polite to him at all. But heâs completely silent, waiting for me to speak, and I give in, spitting out the word, âplease.â âGood girl,â he compliments, voice soothing, but his hand doesnât move from my ass. And then he says, âbut it took too long.â
âAre you fucking kidding me? If youâre not going to fuck me, Park, Iâm leav- oh! Oh, God,â I moan out, my angry tirade cut off when he pushes two thick fingers deep between my folds, stretching me out almost painfully. My walls clench around him as I whimper, my slick coating his hand. âSo fucking wet for me, oh, my God. Does being a bitch to me turn you on, angel?â he asks, but it seems he doesnât require an answer, pushing one of my legs off his lap to give him better access to my pussy, my foot on the floor to stop me from sliding off him. He begins to thrust his fingers in and out of me, fast, and my head falls down as I let out a loud moan because, God, heâs good, better than I couldâve imagined. âSo tight,â he groans, as I throb around his thick fingers, my hips rolling back unconsciously to meet the thrusts of his hand. I can feel my high nearing quickly, the spanking and teasing making me desperate, and his fingers are so fucking good. And then his thumb begins to rub at my clit harshly, forcing a startled moan out of me, and Iâm so close, twitching around him as my entire body tenses.
And then he pulls his fingers out. I let out a frustrated whine, eyes prickling with tears as he chuckles, leaning down and holding his slick covered fingers in front of my face. I refuse to take his fingers into my mouth, lips sealed shut, and he sighs, before his other hand lands a harsh slap onto my swollen pussy. I let out a shriek of pain, but he doesnât relent, landing more heavy slaps onto my sensitive folds, pulling pained moans from my mouth. âStop making this so hard for yourself,â he says through gritted teeth, and I reluctantly open my mouth, his fingers instantly slipping between my lips, the slaps ceasing as I lick his fingers clean of my arousal. âLook at you, being a good little slut for me,â he says with satisfaction, making my blood boil, and I canât help but bite down on his fingers, not hard enough for it to hurt, but hard enough for it to shock him. He jumps, making me grin in satisfaction, before ramming his two fingers back between my folds. I let out a loud moan as he pumps in and out of my pussy, the pleasure rolling over me in waves. The rough pads of his fingers brush against my walls, thumb nudging at my clit as I let out moan after moan, feeling my orgasm build back up. I clench around him even tighter, twitching against his fingers, and itâs like heâs already managed to identify when Iâm close, pulling his fingers away at the last second.
âNo, please,â I whine pathetically, bucking my hips up in frustration, and he chuckles. âItâs a bit late for âpleaseâ now, babe. You can beg better than that,â he prompts, and I want to cry, so desperate for a release that I give in, swallowing my pride to force out some desperate words that might persuade him. âPlease, Park, please make me cum. I need it, I need it so fucking bad, need your fingers or your mouth or your cock, anything. I just need to cum,â I beg, and heâs silent for a moment. âGod, thatâs fucking hot, y/n. ButâŠâ he says, making me tense at the thought heâs not going to give me what I want. âYour begging means nothing â youâre just saying what you think I want to hear. You need to earn it, angel,â he says, making me whine in frustration and thrash on his lap. Iâve had enough now â my vibrator can probably do a better job than him, and Jennie will be fast asleep now (she could sleep through an earthquake). âCall me by my name,â he says, breaking through my anger, and I freeze. âWhat?â âI said to call me by my name. Youâve only ever called me Park. If you swallow your pride and call me âJiminâ⊠Iâll make you cum as many times as you want,â he says, and it sounds simple enough, tempting enough.
But Iâm not giving him what he wants.
âNo.â âNo?â âNo.â âOkay,â he says simply, his fingers sliding back in easily, making me shudder. His fingers pump in and out of me, furiously fast, as his thumb rubs against my clit, my mind numbing with pleasure as I let out moan after moan, unable to stop myself, and I know I must be so loud right now, loud enough for my friends on the floor below to hear, but I donât care. He curls his thick fingers, brushing against the soft spongy spot inside me, and I let out a loud whine. âListen to you being nice and loud for me, like a good little bitch. Youâre so close, arenât you? Can feel your tight pussy clenching around my fingers. Youâre gonna cum soon, right?â he murmurs, fingers fucking into me relentlessly. âCall me Jimin. Swallow your pride, call me my name, and Iâll let you cum all over my fingers, as many times as you want, baby. Just call me Jimin,â he says, voice so soothing that Iâm almost persuaded, but no. Iâm too proud, too stubborn. I bite down on my lip to stop myself, and he sighs. âSuch a stubborn little bitch,â he says, almost disappointedly, pulling his fingers out from me, and I let out a shriek of frustration.
âFuck, please, Park! Please let me cum, please! Iâm so fucking desperate, need to cum so bad!â I cry out, words slurred as my eyes fill with tears, vision blurring. Heâs silent, just listening to my desperate begging, before plunging his fingers back into me, making me moan. And then he stops, fingers stilling inside me. âPark, please, feels so fucking good, please!â I beg, his fingers continuing to thrust into me when I begin to speak, but stilling when I stop. âPlease, Park, I need it, need it so fucking bad,â I whine, and itâs an endless cycle, his fingers only moving when I speak, and stilling when I fall silent. I fall into a repeated cry of âpleaseâ again and again until my throat is hoarse, his fingers bringing me close to the edge before he pulls out, yet again. âOh, my God, Park, please make me cum! Please, I need it so bad, need to cum so bad,â I beg pathetically, and he chuckles. âNot until you break,â he says, pushing his fingers into my swollen pussy again. And heâs ruthless, relentless, fingers fucking into me so fast, so hard that it hurts, hurts so good, and Iâm moaning out, loud and desperate. âSay it, baby, swallow your pride and say my name like a good girl. I can make you feel so good, angel, so good. Fuck you all night, eat this pretty little pussy until youâre begging me to stop. Just say my name, swallow your pride. Come on, babe, say my name,â he murmurs, soothing voice mixed with how good his fingers feel fucking into me and his thumb rubbing at my clit that the prospect of not finishing, makes my eyes fill with tears. And Iâm so close to breaking, so close. But his fingers disappear.
He lifts me up, moving my weak body to straddle one of his strong thick thighs, the material of his jeans against my pussy making me whimper. My hands grip onto his shoulders to support myself, and when my eyes meet his, I nearly cum from that alone. His eyes are so dark, impossibly dark, blown wide with lust, his hair a mess from him running his fingers through it, his lips swollen and shining in the low lamplight, skin flushed and hot. He looks so fucking hot. âRide my thigh,â he whispers, and it takes every last bit of my willpower to shake my head, no. âSuch a fucking brat,â he spits before he begins bouncing his thigh. I let out a strangled moan when my pussy rubs against the sturdy denim of his jeans, head lolling back, and he quickly grabs my waist to stop me from falling off his leg. He doesnât stop, and Iâm bouncing on his thigh, moans falling from my lips with every jolt, his eyes latching on to my breasts which bounce right in front of his face. âFuck. So fucking hot,â he says, hand wrenching down the centre of my bralet so my breasts fall out, straps digging into my shoulders. His plump lips attach to one of my nipples, waves of bliss washing over me at the mixed sensations, heightened when he reaches a hand down to rub my clit slowly. âLook how good Iâm being to you,â he says against my nipple, his saliva sliding down my breast as he speaks, âmaking you feel so good, angel. And you canât even say my name. It isnât that hard.â
I ignore him, focusing on keeping my orgasm at bay â Iâd rather feel the pleasure of now for hours than have one more orgasm denied. âSay it,â he says, moving to the other nipple, flicking his tongue over the bud before sucking it. âFuck, please, Park.â âSay it, angel.â âOh, God, feels so- oh! Fuck.â âCome on, y/n. Just say my name, baby, and Iâll make you feel so good. Youâre so close, I know you are. Youâre gushing all over my thigh, can feel it through my jeans. Just say it, babe, and Iâll let you soak my thigh with your cum. Say it, angel. Swallow your pride for me, baby, and Iâll make you feel so good, fuck you all night long if thatâs what you want.â And I feel my high nearing, feel the knot in my stomach tightening, and Iâm so close, so fucking close that I just canât, I canât lose it.
And I break.
âFuck, Jimin, please, make me cum, I need it,â I cry out, a shit-eating grin spreading across his lips as I moan his name again and again, unable to stop because of how fucking good he feels. âCum for me, angel,â he whispers, and the second I hear him give me permission, Iâm falling over the edge, crying out his name as I cum all over his thigh, shuddering as he continues bouncing his leg, thumb rubbing at my clit to prolong my high. âSuch a good girl, so fucking good for me, angel,â he whispers soothing words as I come down, his hands on my back gentle and comforting. The exhaustion that comes after my orgasm is heavy, making me fall into him, and he chuckles, holding me as I try to get my breath back, hands on his shoulders.
âAre you too tired? You wanna stop?â he asks, and I push myself off him with effort, trying my hardest to stay upright when I land on my feet. I pull my pants back up, and my bralet too before dropping to my knees (I hate being naked while Iâm sucking someone off â itâs weird, but I hate being⊠on display). His eyes darken the second I hit the floor, and he canât stand up quick enough, unbuckling his belt in record time. I pull his black jeans down to his ankles and he steps out of them, and he pulls his white t-shirt up over his head, throwing it over his shoulder as he steps out of his jeans, kicking them away. And then I pull down his boxers, leaving them bunched up at the top of his thighs, and my heart skips a beat, my eyes widening and my mouth watering at how beautiful he is. His legs are long and toned and his skin is tan and clear, pulled over hard muscles and a full six pack, his abs rippling as his long, thick length stands up against them, rock hard and leaking with precum. I spit on his dick, his breath catching in his throat at the contact, before I use my palm to spread my saliva over his length, his hips bucking. Heâs so sensitive, reacting to my every touch, and I almost feel sorry for him, thinking how long he must have been hard. And heâs so big, so thick, with a beautiful fucking curve, that I actually wonder how the hell Iâm supposed to get more than just the head of his cock in.
Without wasting time, I lick the tip, revelling in the shaky breath that falls from his lips, his salty precum spread across my tongue. I decide to give him a taste of his own medicine, kitten licking his tip, occasionally swirling my tongue around the head, exhales and gentle groans escaping from his lips. He soon gets impatient, gathering my hair up in one hand and trying to push my head further down onto him, but I resist his force. âStop fucking teasing, y/n,â he spits out, making me grin to myself, and I donât waste another second before sinking down onto his length until he hits the back of my throat, the boy letting out a strangled moan as I begin to bob my head up and down. I canât get my lips to the base of his cock, and my jaw quickly begins to ache, because heâs just too damn big, gags being forced from my throat every few seconds. I take him out of my mouth, placing my tongue at the base, licking up to his tip against the vein on the underside of his cock to relieve myself of having him in my mouth, but heâs quickly bucking his hips, desperate to have my lips around him again. I look up at him through my lashes as I swirl my tongue around the tip before slowly taking him in as far as possible, gagging around him, and when he hits the back of my throat, his head falls back, a desperate moan of my name falling from his lips, the sound rushing straight to my core.
I slowly build up my pace, steadily bobbing my head up and down, taking him in further each time. âFuck, y/n, youâre so fucking good at this, oh, my God. So fucking good, angel, such a good little cockslut for me,â he groans, hips bucking and making my eyes water, not to mention how hard heâs tugging on my hair, but his moans spur me on through the pain. And I just as Iâm beginning to adjust, nearly getting him into my throat, he loses his patience. He starts thrusting into my mouth, controlling my head movements with the hand he has fisted in my hair, and all I can do is grab onto his thighs as he fucks my mouth. âFuck, youâre so good. My perfect little whore, letting me fuck your mouth, and taking it so well. Love hearing you gagging,â he says, thrusting particularly hard and prompting a gag from me, the noise making him moan. âSo sexy,â he whispers, and I moan around him, the vibrations making him thrust faster. Tears stream down my face, saliva bubbling around my mouth and dripping down my chin and neck.
And then thereâs a knock at the door, followed by, âJimin, you in there?â Jimin stills completely and opens his mouth to reply, but I get an idea, deciding to get my revenge for all the edging. I bob up and down on his length, furiously fast, hands playing with his balls, and a strangled groan falls from his lips, panic in his eyes when he looks down at me. ây/n,â he says, almost pleadingly, and I look up at him innocently, as the door opens. I take his dick out of my mouth, looking around Jimin to see Hoseok stood in the doorway, eyes widening at the sight with Namjoon stood behind him, quickly clapping his hand over his eyes when he sees us. âIâŠâ Hoseok says, Jimin sighing before looking at him over his shoulder. âYes?â âSorry. But I did ask if you were in here,â Hoseok says, eyes flitting to me, and I can see him holding back a laugh when I grin at him mischievously. âPlease, Hobi, just get what you need, and go,â Jimin says tiredly, Hoseok nodding as he darts in, grabbing a charger from what must be the other bed which must be his, before darting back out, dropping a wink at me before he shuts the door.
And Jimin looks down at me, his gaze making my stomach turn. âGet up. Now,â he spits out, and I rise up from the floor as slowly as possible as he pushes his boxers off, leaving him stood in all his glory. Heâs so fucking beautiful, an absolutely Adonis â his body is perfect, like itâs been carved by the Gods. He rips my pants off as he reaches around me, unclasping my bralet with unmatched expertise, pulling it off my arms, and throwing both items over his shoulder. He grabs me by the neck, forceful but not violent, and walks me backwards to his bed, pushing me down and climbing over me. âYou think youâre funny, huh?â he demands, no regard for how tight heâs gripping my throat, and I grin, enjoying how pissed off he is. âWe were doing well, and you just had to fucking ruin it,â he spits out, entire weight on me, and I struggle for air, the lack of oxygen making my head spin pleasurably. âYou like being caught in the act, huh? Like being a dirty little bitch and being on your knees for me in front of my friends? Or dâyou just like pissing me off?â he demands, eyes dark with anger, veins in his neck corded tight. âLike⊠pissing⊠you off. Thought⊠we could⊠try⊠hate⊠sexâŠâ I breathe out between deep inhales, desperately trying to take in enough air, and he smirks. âThought youâd piss me off, so Iâd hate you?â he asks, and I grin as best as I can, eyes watering. He reaches down and grips his cock in one hand, running his length along my folds teasingly, sending little waves of pleasure through me. âDonât make me beg,â I whisper, my hoarse voice making him loosen his grip slightly, a smirk stretching his lips out. âThatâd be mean, right? After how good youâve been for me?â he says sarcastically, eyebrow raised, and I fix him with a glare, his hand tightening again, rings digging into my skin. âBeg, bitch,â he spits harshly, and Iâm silent, our eyes locked together. âI could cum just like this,â he says, still running his cock across my folds, and I sigh, the thought of him not fucking me making me snake my hand around the back of his neck, pulling him down to press my lips to his ear and whisper, âFuck me, Jimin, so hard I canât fucking walk, for as long as you fucking want. Fill me up with your big fat cock until I canât breathe. Donât care about me â Iâm just a slut for you to use for your own pleasure, a whore for you to fill with your cum until your balls are empty.â My words make him gulp, eyes blown wide with desire, and I press my lips to his, speaking against his mouth:
âFuck me like you hate me.â
He plunges all the way into me, both of us moaning, âfuckâ, drawing the word out until he bottoms out, and itâs so fucking good. Heâs so thick, the stretch burning deliciously, the curve of his cock having him fill me up perfectly, brushing up against my spongy spot without even meaning to. He doesnât give me even a second to adjust, pulling all the way out before slamming back in, both of us letting out moans at the feeling. He sets a bruisingly fast pace, the bed hitting the wall with each strong thrust of his. âSo fucking tight. Gonna stretch you out with my fat cock, gonna ruin you for everyone else,â he growls, forcing the words out with effort, his energy being taken up by thrusting into me, and itâs euphoria, absolutely euphoria. âIâd⊠like to see you⊠try,â I breathe out between moans, and he chuckles, hammering into me, heavy balls slapping against my skin. âI already broke you, angel â donât make me embarrass you by doing it again,â he growls, hand still tight around my neck, my hands on his back, nails digging into his skin, hard. He grabs one of my legs, lifting it to rest on his shoulder, and he goes even deeper than before, my eyes rolling back into my head at the feeling of his cock dragging against my walls.
Obscene squelching and the sound of skin slapping against skin fills the room with my moans and whimpers, his groans and grunts, the smell of sex thick on the air as he abuses my pussy, pounding into me like thereâs no tomorrow, and all I can think is, âwhy the fuck havenât we done this already?â âFucking gushing around me, soaking my bed like a good little slut. Gonna smell like you for days â my other bitches will know Iâve had a cock-hungry whore in here,â he moans against my ear, rage filling me at the mention of other girls, and I canât help myself. I slap him around the face, and he just grins at me, cheek reddening, not ceasing his thrusting. âJealous? Donât worry, baby, youâre the best Iâve ever had. Iâll ruin you, but youâve ruined me. Only want your pussy from now. Want you to be my good little bitch, my sex toy,â he grunts, cock hammering into me relentlessly, my walls clenching around him. âOnly if you eat my pussy with those pretty lips,â I whisper with a grin, and he chuckles, smirking. âCanât wait to taste your pussy, angel. But let me fill it with my cum first,â he breathes out against my neck, making me moan, before he practically pushes me down into the mattress, cock pounding into me bruisingly hard.
âSo fucking tight around me, baby, like youâve never been fucked. Your cunt was made for me, huh? Scream my name out, babe. Let everyone in the damn house hear how good my cock makes you feel,â he prompts, and I canât help but do as he says, head thrown back into the pillow as he repeatedly hits my g-spot, crying his name repeatedly like a mantra. And I can feel my orgasm approaching, my walls clenched around him, my nails raking down his back, moans falling from my mouth again and again. âYou gonna cum for me, baby? Come on, want you to soak my cock like a good little slut. Cum for me, angel,â he whispers against my ear, hand snaking down to rub at my clit, other hand still tight around my neck, pushing me down into the mattress, and I feel the knot in my stomach tightening, head full of bliss. And then he hits the spot inside me head-on, and I reach my high.
I scream out his name, so loud it feels like itâs being ripped out of throat, my own voice ringing in my ears as I cum around him, gushing out release, walls clamped around him so tight he canât move, and so he rubs at my clit to prolong my orgasm. Never have I felt an orgasm this intense, never felt pleasure like this, and my vision becomes blurry as the tears run down my face, mouth hanging open, eyes rolling back into my head and nails raking down his back, breaking the skin. And when I begin coming down, my walls loosening around him, he starts chasing his own high, with no concern for me at all. He slams into me, again and again, the bed probably leaving dents in the wall every time it bumps against it, and the overstimulation is too much, making me sob. But he doesnât care, one hand pressing into the mattress, the other one still around my neck as he fucks into me, grunts and groans falling from his lips, and when my vision clears, I nearly cum again at the sight of him.
His black hair is pasted to his head with sweat, his skin completely drenched and glistening with perspiration, mouth wide open and letting out whispers of my name, lips swollen and shining. His eyes are dark, impossibly dark, completely blown wide with lust, and his face is flushed and contorted with pleasure. His muscles ripple with the effort of fucking me, desperate whines escaping his lips as he chases his high, body tense and strong. He looks like sin incarnate.
And I can feel him nearing his orgasm, dick twitching inside me, and I tighten around him, digging my heel into his back to hold him place, his hips stuttering with erratic thrusts. âFuck, baby, Iâm gonna cum. Gonna cum in this tight little pussy. So good for me, so good,â he moans loudly, making my lips curl in satisfaction before he lets out a cry of, âfuck, y/n, gonna cum!â He buries himself deep inside me, head falling to rest in the crook of my neck, biting down on my skin as he cums, thick and hot ropes of his release painting my insides. And thereâs so much of it, an endless amount of cum flooding me, and my sensitive walls fluttering around him prolongs his high, milking his cock for all he has.
Once heâs done, he pulls his softened cock out of me, moving down the bed with a grin, wanting to see his masterpiece. âYou squirted, you know?â he says nonchalantly, eyes momentarily flitting up from my pussy to meet mine, and I canât mask the surprise quick enough, a satisfied smirk stretching across his lips. âThought so. Iâm the best youâve ever had, right, babe?â he asks, eyes trained on my folds, waiting for his cum to leak out of me, and I donât reply. âGod, after such a good fucking, youâre still a stubborn little bitch? Well, whatever. If it makes you feel better, that was the best Iâve ever had too,â he says, and Iâm silent, attempting to ignore the thrill that runs through me â heâs fucked that many girls, but Iâm the best. âYour moans are so pretty, angel. My name sounds good on your lips,â he grins, and I roll my eyes, dropping my head back to rest on the pillow â Iâm absolutely exhausted, physically and mentally (and of him). âDo you always talk this much after sex?â I ask, and he chuckles. âNope. I usually give them a kiss on their cheek and send them on their way. You should be honoured youâre getting pillow talk,â he says cockily, and I scoff. âFuck you.â âI just did,â he says, voice dripping with mirth, and I roll my eyes.
And then I feel it. His cum beginning to drip out of me. âGod, I really did cum deep, huh? Look how long it took,â he says, words lined with fascination as he watches my pussy intently. âRemember when you said Iâve got a tiny dick?â he laughs, and I let out an annoyed noise. âShut up,â I say half-heartedly, before he collects up some of his cum on his fingers, making me let out a shaky breath as I look down at him. He holds his fingers out to me, and I donât bother waiting this time, licking them clean, and his cum is actually... not bad. Sweet and almost⊠fruity. But Iâm knocked out of my thoughts about his semen when he licks a bold stripe up my pussy, a broken moan falling from my lips. âI⊠didnât think my cum would taste this good. Or maybe itâs just your pussy,â he says casually, as though discussing the taste of cocktails. âI think itâs your cum.â âLet me test it,â he says before delving back down for another taste of my juices, making me moan before I thread my fingers into his hair, pulling him away. âIâm too sensitive,â I say gently, and he nods, moving to lie beside me. âItâs you, by the way. Your pussy tastes amazing. You gotta let me eat you out in the morning,â he says, and I turn to look at him, raising an eyebrow and trying to ignore how handsome he is. âIn the morning?â âWell, if you wanna stay the night, that is,â he offers indifferently, but I can see that heâs a little nervous underneath the casual demeanour, and so am I, panicking at the prospect of this⊠not being just sex.
âWhereâs my phone?â I ask, and he laughs at the swift topic change, before reaching his hand under the pillow my head is on, pulling out my phone, and handing it to me as I thank him â though I shouldnât have to say thanks for getting my phone back. But whatever. I start to get up, slowly sitting up and swinging my legs over the side of the bed. âAre you leaving?â he asks, almost panicked, and I laugh. âI gotta clean myself up, and go to the toilet â I donât want a UTI. Whereâs the bathroom?â I ask, and he pulls a face. âItâs the last door in the corridor,â he says, sitting up to watch me as I collect up my clothes, legs shaky. âYouâre not gonna put those tight ass clothes back on, are you?â he asks, and I raise an eyebrow. âItâs not like I brought a spare change,â I say, and he laughs, getting out of bed. He goes to his wardrobe, getting out a loose black long-sleeved top of his, and then to his chest of drawers, delving deep into one of the drawers and pulling out a pair of black Nike socks and a pair of black cotton pants, holding them out to me. And I look at him, looking back at the clothes, before looking back up at him, and then back at the clothes. âI hope to God youâre not expecting me to wear those random pants,â I say with disgust, and he laughs. âTheyâre brand new, I promise. Rosie bought a pack to keep here for when⊠hers werenât suitable to wear anymore, and these are from that pack â theyâve never been worn. I swear. And the top and socks are mine â freshly washed,â he says, and I nod, still suspicious, sniffing the pants when he hands them to me. They smell clean, and I decide to give him the benefit of the doubt â Iâd rather not be underwear-less in a frat house. So I pull the pants on, and then his top, trying to ignore how it smells exactly like him, the nice scent filling my senses, and itâs long enough that it covers my ass completely, hem brushing against my thighs. I pull on the socks, soft material nice against my tired feet (I donât know why I wear heels â itâs literal torture).
âMake sure you knock â there might be someone in there,â he says meaningfully, and I scrunch my nose up in disgust. âWho fucks in the bathroom of a frat house?â I ask, and heâs silent, looking a little sheepish. âThatâs gross. Please, donât. I donât want to know,â I say when he opens his mouth to explain, and he nods, holding back a laugh. I open the door, looking down the corridor to see if itâs empty before rushing towards the bathroom. Thankfully itâs empty, so I wee and clean myself up, trying to ignore how much of a state I look. Once Iâm done, I look a little more presentable, but itâs clear Iâve just been fucked, my eyes a little heavy and lips swollen, and my skin glowing. My makeup (which was a full face) is minimal now, my mascara slightly smudged around my eyes and my foundation patchy around my mouth and chin, so I blend it out as best as I can, and it doesnât actually look that bad. The most noticeable thing is the purpling marks from his mouth, his hand and his rings around my neck and under my jaw, the ones on my collarbones hidden by his top. I run my fingers through my hair, and have it hanging around my face, not really covering the marks, but itâs the best I can do. I head back into Jiminâs bedroom, and I stifle a laugh at seeing that heâs fast asleep. And he looks really fucking cute, lips pouted, hair messy and face relaxed with slumber. How can he go from being the most annoying person in the world, to being sin personified, to being adorable? Itâs obvious he was expecting me to stay the night with him â heâs on one side of the bed, the other side with two pillows, my phone sat atop them with the blanket pulled down for me to climb in.
But I canât. I canât stay the night and pretend like everythingâs okay. Yes, he just gave me the best fucking of my life, but Iâm not sure if it makes up for all the times heâs been a dick to me over the past couple years. And now, heâs expecting me to climb into bed with him, to act like weâre more than just two people who hate each other, and acted on our sexual tension and attraction to one another. Because that is all we are. But then he said things like me being the best heâs had, and that he wants to eat me out in the morning, and heâs expecting me to stay the night when he never lets anyone stay the night â everyone knows that about him. So maybe he doesnât hate me, which is terrifying, because I cannot deal with Park Jimin not hating me.
So I have to make him hate me.
Quietly, I grab my phone, and he moves in his sleep, stirring, making me panic and run out of the room, leaving behind my clothes and shoes. I venture to the end of the corridor, ordering my Uber before looking down the flight of stairs, spotting the group of my friends still sat on the landing, Chaeyoung sat closest. âChaeng, I whisper, but she doesnât hear me. âChaeng!â I hiss a little louder, and she looks around before spotting me, opening her mouth to speak before I hold a finger to my lips. She gets up, pretending sheâs going to the bathroom before rushing up the stairs. âAre you okay?â âYeah, but I need to, like, escape. Iâve ordered an Uber, but I left my shoes in his room,â I say, and she instantly slides off her sparkly silver sliders. âDonât you need them?â âYoongi said I could stay the night,â she says shyly, making me squeal with excitement for her, a little smile on her face. âYou know thereâs no way youâre gonna be able to leave without everyone seeing you?â she says, and I sigh, slipping her shoes on. âI know, but I canât stay. I canât share a bed with him,â I say, and she raises an eyebrow. âGirl, we heard everything. Everything. But staying the night is where you draw the line?â she asks, and I nod, absolutely humiliated that they could hear. âYes. I still hate him,â I say as though itâs obvious, and she just nods, holding back a laugh. âCome on, then,â she says, leading me down the stairs, and Iâm so embarrassed when my friends spot me, jeering and laughing. âWalk of shame!â Bambam shouts, before the boys all begin chanting it, and I cover my face in embarrassment. âBye, girls!â I call over the racket, the girls all bidding me goodbye before Chaeyoung leads me down the next flight of steps.
She turns the handle of the front door, pushing it open for me, and I quickly rush out before I can run into anyone else. âThanks, Chaeng, youâre the best. Iâll drop these off tomorrow,â I say, motioning to the shoes, and she waves my words off. âJust bring them to try-outs next weekend. Text me when you get home,â she says, and I nod, my phone buzzing to let me know my Uberâs a minute away. âSee you, Chaeng,â I call over my shoulder, heading up to the pavement. My Uber pulls up, and I turn to wave at Chaeyoung, instead seeing her being pushed out of the way by Jin and Jungkook who are cheering and shouting at me, running over. I quickly jump into the Uber before they can reach me, telling the driver to go quickly, and he does so, leaving Dumb and Dumber in our dust. Iâm silent the entire journey back, trying my hardest to stay awake, and I can feel him looking at me in the rear-view mirror, probably wondering why Iâm dressed the way I am, getting into an Uber at 4am. Or maybe he knows exactly why.
When we pull up to my accommodation, the sky is already beginning to lighten with morning just around the corner, and I thank him, climbing out of the Uber and heading into the building, entire body aching. I take the lift, having to lean one hand against the wall as I walk down the corridor towards our door. And then I realise I left my bag, with my keys in them, in Jiminâs bedroom. Iâd hoped to sneak in whilst Jennie was asleep, but Iâll definitely have to wake her up now. I knock on the door, not too loud because I donât want to wake anyone in the neighbouring rooms up, but it works, Jennie instantly opening the door. And she doesnât look like sheâs been sleeping, wide awake and fixing me with a hard glare. She knows.
âHow the hell do you know?â I ask tiredly as she moves to the side to let me in, looking me up and down. âNamjoon phoned me after your conversation with him, to clear the air. And halfway through our reconciliation, I can hear shouting in the background, and he kindly informs me that you and Jimin were having a screaming match on ASPâs front lawn. And then he texts me around an hour and a half later to say heâd just seen you on your knees in Jiminâs bedroom with his dick in your mouth,â she says, voice harsh but eyes sparkling with amusement. âI know, I know, Iâm an idiot. But Iâm really fucking tired and achy so can I sleep first? I promise, Iâll let you lecture me all you want in the morning,â I say as I collapse into my bed, and she just stares at me for a moment before nodding, a small grin on her face. âItâs about time you got laid.â âOh, thanks.â âI want all the details in the morning.â âIâm not sure you do.â âEw.â

The energy at a kpop concert is unmatched. Even backstage as a production manager, you find yourself feeding off the energy of the crowd. And the crowd always goes wild for V.Â
Dating an idol isnât as hard as you thought it would be. Itâs easier for the two of you because you tour with him. You donât have to spend months and months apart. Itâs actually how the two of you met. You got a job as a production assistant, your first job in the industry. At first you were intimidated to work with talented and famous V, but then you got to know him as soft and sweet Kim Taehyung.Â
The concert is coming to a close and once V gets off stage your work is done. Now that you are the production manager, you have an assistant to make sure that the post-concert tear down goes smoothly. The stage lights go out and the final cheers can be heard through your professional grade earplugs.Â
He walks backstage, or struts really, and heads back to his dressing room. You always give him a few moments to himself after the show before going in to see him. He usually changes and takes off his makeup and contact lenses then gets a snack. But after wrapping up your duties and passing the clipboard on to your protege, you make your way to see him.Â
You knock a few times as a courtesy before opening the door. His back is to the door, but he turns slowly to face you. He hasnât changed out of his stage clothes yet. His irises are still an unnatural icy blue color. The dramatic stage makeup compliments his uneven eyelids and delicate lips. By the way he strides toward you, you know that this is not Taehyung. No, this is a much different persona. This is V.Â
Before you have much time to react, heâs standing in front of you expectantly. Itâs a game youâve played a few times before. And you know what to do. You begin shedding your layers of clothing and he moves to lock the door. You donât have much time, the limo will be here to take you back to the hotel in less than half an hour.Â
He approaches you again, helping you step out of your pants before trapping you against the wall between his arms. Your fingers gently trace the veins in his forearms and you can see the goosebumps forming on his skin. He leans into the crook of your neck.Â
âDid you enjoy the performance?â He asks in a cool, hushed tone. He plants a kiss against the skin of your neck, then he pulls back, waiting for your response.
âI always do...â His stare is intense, waiting for you to complete your answer. âSir.â
He leans in again, planting a firm kiss against your lips followed by a trail of kisses down your neck. Heâs pleased, only stopping to lower the straps of your bra. He continues pressing his lips against your neck and chest as he lifts you off the ground.Â
Your legs wrap around him instinctively as he carries you across the room. Before he sets you down, you feel two firm spanks against your ass followed by the cool relief of the counter top. He doesnât let go of you though, instead he wraps his arms under your thighs and pulls you to the edge of the counter. Then he gets on his knees.
He reaches back up and hooks his fingers into the waistband of your panties and pulls them down in one swift motion. Using one hand on each of your thighs, he pries them apart and you can feel his breath against your most sensitive spot.Â
His left hand lets go of your leg and he uses his thumb to touch you. A gentle touch, just enough to leave you craving more.Â
âPlease.â You whimper, your hands weaving into his hair, an attempt to guide him to your core.Â
âPlease...?â He questions, a smirk written across his face.Â
âPlease Sir. I need you.â He doesnât hesitate to swipe his tongue against you and you canât hold back the moan that escapes your lips. He continues teasing you with his tongue, but his hand comes up to cover your mouth.Â
âCan you breath?â He asks quickly and when you nod in response he continues his work. You can feel pressure building with each stroke of his tongue against you. He releases your other thigh and begins teasing your entrance with his fingers. Taking your swollen clit between his lips, he sucks gently. You tug on his hair, thighs clamping around his face, needing a release.Â
Unfortunately for you, he pulls away and gets back on his feet. Your eyes fall on the thick bulge thatâs formed in his tight leather pants. Your fingers quickly move to undo his belt, your entire body pulsing with want.Â
Three loud knocks come from the other side of the door.Â
âMr. Kim! Your limo is here!âÂ
The two of you pause for a moment, breathing heavily. He tightens his belt back up and helps you off the counter.Â
âWeâll finish this later.â He says, handing you your discarded panties.Â
âYes sir.â

In which you and Jeongguk have broken up, but he canât bring himself to move on. He keeps it all hidden beneath a forced smile, only crying when heâs alone, ridding himself of thoughts by practicing for hours on end, but a man can only take so much pain until it all becomes too much.

Jeongguk awakes, eyes closing tightly at the sun hitting his face as he reaches an arm out to hug your waist and pull your warmth against him - but it falls with a thump on top of the mattress.
You're not there.
He opens his eyes to see your side unoccupied, the bed feeling cold and empty without you next to him. It hits him just as hard as the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that day.
You're not his anymore.
Jeongguk's heart breaks a little more as he reaches over to grab the pillow and hug it close against his chest, the smell of your shampoo still lingering, albeit faint, on the soft cotton. It reminds him of the mornings you spent together. The way you'd both lay in bed for an extra hour just holding and breathing each other in before lazily getting up to make breakfast. You love Sundays, and he has come to love them too. However, with you gone, they feel more dull than ever.
Tears sting in his eyes despite the warm feeling the memories with you bring, knowing he'll never experience that again - that you'll be nothing but a memory in his mind.
It still doesn't feel real. He has now spent two months in a cold bed, still sleeping on the left side of it and waking up expecting you to be right there next to him. Two months since the two of you were no more, two months since you broke his heart.
The moment feels blurry, like it had been a dream - a painful scenario created in his head.
Jeongguk presses the combination of numbers on your lock, expecting you to be laying on the couch reading just like you enjoy doing on Thursday nights like these while you wait for him to arrive. However, as he steps in, you're nowhere to be seen, and the TV isn't on like it usually is considering you don't like the silence when you're alone.
His eyes scan the apartment as he closes the door behind him, the clicking of the lock sounding through the space as it returns into its frame. After kicking his boots off and shrugging off his jacket, he walks further to look for you. His first thought is that you've already gone to bed, but it fades as he sees you on the balcony with your back facing him as you look out over the city.
The sight of you, his love, makes his heart flutter. He walks up to the glass door, sliding it open slowly not to startle you - but even that makes you jump slightly, causing you to turn quickly to find the source of unexpected noise.
"Hi," Jeongguk smiles.
You sigh. "Hey."
"You okay?"
"Uh..." you start, not really sure how to continue as you turn back to watch the city lights. "Yeah, I'm fine."
You're not fine.
Instantly he knows something's up, worry blooming in his chest as he walks up to stand next to you.
"What's wrong?" he asks, eyebrows furrowed. "Talk to me."
You breathe out, letting your head fall back as you try to keep it together. You'd been feeling like this all day, constantly finding yourself having to fight back the tears. You knew this moment was bound to happen sooner or later, but still, you dreaded it.
"We..." you stop, swallowing to keep your voice from breaking as you continue on. "We should take some time apart from each other." You say, eyes still not meeting his.
Jeongguk feels as if his heart stops, his breath getting caught in his throat. "Wh-What?" He stutters, searching for your gaze as you look down at your hands hanging over the railing.
The whole situation feels unexpected to him. He thought everything between you two was fine. Did he do something wrong?Â
He feels panic arising, quickly replacing the worry that found home inside his ribcage.
"I need to find myself," you speak, now gaining the courage to look into his eyes. "And you need to find you, and figure out who you are."
His beautiful eyes. Big brown eyes with countless amounts of stars sparkling in them, those eyes you've gotten lost in over and over ever since the two of you met years ago. Those soft eyes, and the wrinkles that form around them when he smiles - nose scrunching in happiness.
Your heart aches as you look into them, feeling tears sting in your eyes. You didn't want to do this. The last thing you'd ever want to do is hurt Jeongguk. Your sweet Jeongguk, your bunny, your happiness and your warmth. Your everything.
This has been the hardest decision you've ever had to make, but you know it'll be better this way.
You canât help but feel like the two of you rely on each other too much for happiness and well-being, whenever there's a problem or when something is weighing you down - you always search for a solution in the other. You're grateful to have him, someone you can go to and feel better - you really are. But you found yourself wandering off inside your mind one day while waiting for him to return from work, wondering what life would be like without Jeongguk. He's been your light ever since the two of you met, the morning that dawned after a night that seemed to be endless.
You realised right then and there that, without him, you'd be nothing - everything would be dull. And as your mind wandered even further, questions started popping up in your head.
Do you love yourself? Yes, because Jeongguk has taught you to. Are you happy? Yes you are, because you have Jeongguk.
Are you really happy with your life? Do you wanna stay like this forever?
With Jeongguk? Yes, you want to stay with him forever. With life? No, you want to be genuinely happy, and you want to be independent in that - and be able to say that you've found true happiness, because and for you, not anyone or anything else.
You'd asked Jeongguk that same day; are you happy? Do you love yourself?
"Yes, because of you."Â He had replied, an unintentional reflection of your own answers.
His response should've made you happy, it should've made your heart flutter - but because of your concerns, you simply couldn't feel that way.
"What do you mean?" Jeongguk asks, voice weak as he hears his heart beat in his ears. "What's wrong?"
It pains you to do this. Like nothing else ever has.
"We're too dependent on each other," you explain. "We need to find happiness on our own, we need to learn how to love ourselves - on our own."
'On our own.'
At that moment, when those words left your mouth - that's when the ground beneath him shattered. That's when his world fell apart. When the stars shining above faded and the sun in his sky disappeared - leaving him lonely with a single grey cloud, and a world that became sombre.
What went wrong? What did he do that made you leave? Could he have done something to prevent it?
As Jeongguk recalls the moment, he feels a weight push down on his chest as he lays on his back, making his breathing heavy. Tears are now welling up in his eyes, running down the sides of his face and making his pillow wet. His hands come up to run over his face as he closes his eyes, biting down hard on his bottom lip to keep himself from sobbing too loudly. If he gives into the pain, he knows it'll be too hard to swim back up to the surface again - too difficult to put his mask back on and start the day off like nothing's wrong.
Heâs been keeping it inside since it all happened, only crying and letting it get to him when no one's around. He doesnât want to worry anyone, since heâs well aware they have their own burdens to deal with - not wanting to put any extra weight on anyoneâs shoulders.
Jeongguk sucks in an erratic breath before getting out of bed, his body heavy as he walks over to throw yesterdayâs clothes on before wiping his tears with the back of his hand and leaving his room as quietly as possible, wanting to avoid conversation with anybody. He manages to leave the dorm unnoticed, thankful the members are deep in sleep because of the late celebration that was held last night after their recent release of the new album. He wishes he could enjoy it, he really does - but without you everything feels meaningless, empty.
Twenty minutes later, he arrives at the bighit building, bowing politely to everyone he passes on his way to the practice room despite the sorrow weighing him down - making it difficult to pick his head back up again.
Heâs able to breathe out as he enters the studio, a quiet void surrounding him as he leans back against the door. He feels relaxed here, only thanks to the fact it's his escape - his way of numbing the pain, even if it's just temporary.
He's been coming here every day since the two of you broke up. Tour is slowly but surely approaching, and there are several new choreographies to learn. Jeongguk and the rest of the members had been practicing them for a few months now, and even though Jeongguk knows every single move like the back of his hand - he still comes here everyday to perfect and improve them. He wants everything to be perfect on stage, a single mistake making him doubt himself for the rest of the concert.
You know this very well, how hard he is on himself. You were the one who could make him feel better about himself, reassuring him that everything was fine even though he might've messed that one move up. What would he do now that you were gone?
However, practicing has gotten another purpose now, to simply act as a distraction for him - to get you out of his mind as he moved along with the beat. To get to that point where the oxygen burned in his throat, his chest falling up and down quickly as he tried to catch his breath while laying flat on the floor.
And that's exactly how he finds himself many hours later, shirt damp with sweat and sticking to his chest as he falls down onto the floor, his legs weak. He almost gasps for air as he looks up at the ceiling, loud music still playing through the speakers. Even though the room is completely empty, it almost feels crowded, like the air is pushing in on him, like it's suffocating him.
It feels terrible, but he finds himself relishing in the self-inflicted torture. It almost works as an antidote, ridding his mind of you - and during those few seconds, he feels free, and his body feels weightless.
But then it fades and small pieces of thoughts and memories slowly re-enter his mind as he catches his breath, the weight of sorrow gradually pushing down harder and harder over his ribcage once again.
Usually, after a tough session like this, he'd drive back to your place and spend the rest of the night with you - hours filled with cuddling and sweet kisses as the two of you find comfort in simply being close to each other. He misses it. It feels empty without you, and his days feel excruciatingly long.
Being close to you, admiring you - he won't get to do it anymore.
He wonders if you miss him too, if you're hurting too. Are you thinking of him right now? Are you longing to hold him, just like heâs longing to hold you? He saw the look on your face when you told him you wanted to break up, he saw that you too found it hurtful. But why would you do it if you didn't want to? He can't really grasp the reason why. Couldn't you find happiness together? Wasn't it enough?Â
Wasn't he enough?
Jeongguk closes his eyes, trying to paint a picture of your face in front of him but the image in his mind is far from vivid. He can still remember everything, your beautiful eyes, your soft lips and how they felt against his own, your hand gestures you use so often as you speak, every single detail is still there, but the image is faint. He wants to reach out and run his thumb over your cheek bone, he wants to touch you - but he can't as you're slowly fading. It's torture, because even though your face might become more dim as the time without you increases, he's certain he'll always remember you and always compare you with everyone else. Compare the pink of your lips to others, compare how your eyes sparkle as you smile to others dull ones.
You'll always be it for him. You'll always have his heart.
Click.
The sound of the door opening brings Jeongguk back to the practice room despite the loud music already playing, his head turning to see Jimin walk in.
"Oh Jeongguk-ssi, I didn't know you were here!" Jimin says, smiling.
Jeongguk gets up from the floor, not really in the mood to chat or make small talk. He walks over and turns the music off, only now realising itâs dark out.
Jimin furrows his eyebrows in concern, slowly walking up behind Jeongguk. "Is everything alright?"
"I'm fine," Jeongguk replies, voice cold - more than he intends for it to be.
Jimin can tell something's up, and he's well aware that the two of you broke up - but for what reason, he has no idea. Jeongguk is usually really happy to see Jimin, always teasing and joking around with him - exclaiming 'Jimin-ssi' every time he enters the room. But ever since you two broke up, there's been this heavy energy around him pushing him down. He hasn't been eating as much as he usually does, and Jimin has never known someone who loves food as much as Jeongguk does -Â so seeing it naturally causes him concern. Jimin notices it all, he notices the way Jeongguk tries to hide it, but that's just how he is, he doesn't wanna trouble anyone else with whatever feelings he might have.
It's not the best trait of his. Eventually, it'll all become too much for him to handle on his own. Jimin dreads that moment has come.
"Jeongguk-" Jimin starts, but he's quickly interrupted.
"I'm fine!" Jeongguk says, his voice loud this time as the words echo through the silent room. "I'm fine," he repeats, now quieter as if he's trying to convince himself.
But he can't. He's not fine, and he knows it. He can feel his body getting weaker by the second, wanting nothing but to fall down and lay on the floor again - but at the same time, he feels like dancing more, he wants to move until he feels that burn in his throat again. The burn that numbs the pain of being without you, the heaving of his chest that forces him to focus on breathing instead of the bitterness your absence brings.
"Jeongguk," Jimin tries again, conscientiously deciding to continue when there's no reply. "I know you're struggling, but keeping it all in won't make it any better."
Jeongguk only listens, still standing with his back facing the older.
"You should talk to someone about it, anyone - just get it all out."
"I can't," Jeongguk mumbles, feeling as if someone is squeezing his heart with all their might.
Thinking about it over and over is one thing, but having to talk about it out loud would ruin him - it'd hurt even more. He'd have to accept it. Accept that you're no longer with him, that he won't get to kiss and hold you close again.
"Gguk," Jimin says, placing his hands on Jeongguk's shoulders.
The name sounds foreign as Jimin says it.
Gguk. That's what you always called him, except for when you were annoyed at him - only then voicing his full name. The memory makes Jeongguk want to smile and break down all at the same time.
It's too quiet, he's too still - and he feels the pain slowly seep back into his heart. "I can't," he repeats, but in a whisper.
"Why?"
Jimin makes Jeongguk turn to face him, only now seeing his glossy, tired eyes. How his lips quiver and how his skin seems unusually pale.
Thereâs so much pain, too much for him to handle.
"It hurts, hyung," Jeongguk sobs as everything he's been keeping inside bursts, his head falling to land on Jimin's shoulder. "It hurts so bad."
Jimin embraces him, a bothersome feeling appearing in his stomach at the sight of Jeongguk this way. His dear Jeongguk, having his heart broken for the first time.
You were his first love. You changed his life, and Jeongguk thought he had reached the peak of fortune even before you came along, but it turned out he hadn't. You quickly became someone he valued, that someone he had dreamt of - that someone he could give all his love to. But you're not next to him anymore. You're not laying next to him in the morning to accept his lazy kisses. There's no one next to him running their fingers over his back, connecting his birthmarks with light touches of a finger - creating constellations over his skin.
He thought he'd have you forever. Trying to imagine his life without you, it just came up as nothingness in his head - blank and pointless.
Jeongguk doesn't want to admit to himself it's over. If he tries hard enough, he's sure he could pretend this was just another day, finishing up at work to go home to you and hold you in his arms. But that wouldn't be fair to you, and not to himself either. Deep down he knows it, he knows it's over - that the two of you are no more. But he feels as if he's stuck at the end of a finished sentence, just before the punctuation mark. He wants to jump over it, but he can't bring himself to take that leap, that leap to move on from you and what the two of you had.
He's heard many times, in books and movies the two of you have watched together, that first love is something you'll always remember. So surely, there's no hope for him. He won't be able to move on from you no matter how hard he may try to.
He's certain he'll never find a love like that again. He's certain he won't find someone like you, who could make him as happy as you did.
Jimin softly runs his hand over Jeongguk's hair, thinking of what words to say next that could make him feel better. But his thoughts are halted when Jeongguk slowly pulls away from him, his breath irregular as he grabs his phone on the desk behind him before he starts walking towards the door.
"Jeongguk, where are you going?" Jimin asks, worry evident in his voice.
"I need to see her."
Jimin instantly starts walking after him. "You shouldn't."
"I have to see her," Jeongguk says, now exiting the practice room.
"I really don't think it's a good idea, Jeongguk," Jimin warns, having to jog after him to keep up.
Jeongguk only keeps walking, hastily passing staff in the corridor - not bothering to bow or greet anyone this time.
"Jeongguk, stop. You're not thinking straight."
He turns as Jimin grabs hold of his bicep tightly, keeping him from getting further.
"Let go."
He doesn't, his hand only tightening as his fingers dig into the skin.
"Let-"
"What are you gonna do? Huh?" Jimin asks, voice stern as he looks into the younger's eyes. "It's over, Jeongguk. You can't just go over there and see her, you don't have the right to anymore. It'll only make everything worse for the both of you. Seeing her will only make things harder than what they already are."
Jimin's words only cut deeper into his wounds and even more tears start falling from his eyes, creating wet paths down his pale skin. He groans out loud as the pain takes over once again, hands coming up to tug at his hair as he shuts his eyes tightly - trying his best to cope with the seemingly endless suffering.
"I just need her to let me know," he chokes, eyes opening to meet Jimin's.
"Let you know what?"
"That it'll all be fine, that I'll be fine," Jeongguk sobs. "I need her to let me know it's over."
"It's already over Jeongguk, don't you know?" Jimin says, concerned as his eyebrows furrow.
"It's all so blurry in my head I canât remember anything clearly," he says through erratic breaths. "I need her to tell me it's all over, so I can move on. It hurts too much, I can't stay like this - I need to find peace."
"I'm not sure if it's-"
"Hyung," Jeongguk interferes with a desperate look in his now red and puffy eyes, taking a firm hold of Jimin's shoulders. "Please, I can't take it anymore."
Jimin sighs, his head in conflict with his heart. But after a few seconds, his grip on Jeongguk's arm loosens hesitantly.
After a last glance at Jimin, Jeongguk turns to continue towards his car - hurrying off to see you.
For the last time.
You're sitting at your kitchen table with your laptop in front of you, head resting in your palm as you try to come up with the right words for your essay. You've been sitting here since 10 PM, for almost an hour now, yet your document remains empty. It's almost funny how much it resembles your life at the moment.
Empty.
He's gone.
Jeongguk. Jeongguk. Jeongguk.
Itâs all you've been able to think about.
You push the thoughts of him to the back of your mind for probably the eleventh time these past thirty minutes. You let out a frustrated sigh, sitting up straight in your chair as you feel your back ache.
You would've opted for the couch, but that would only bring you more burden. His scent still lingers on the fabric, the memories of him in your arms planting light kisses over your face all too fresh in your mind for you to face.
Two months, and still, you couldn't sit on your own couch. Pathetic.
You're weak.Â
You've done this to yourself. Everything about your relationship with Jeongguk was fine, but it felt wrong to rely on each other that much. You were raised to be independent, raised by your parents to be strong and stand up for yourself, to do what's right.
You longed to be with him again, to feel his skin under your fingertips - to feel his lips against yours and his hot breath against your skin as his face finds home in the crook of your neck as you hold each other close. But the timing wasn't right.
You want to be able to say you truly love yourself, that you're content with the person you are and that you're genuinely happy - without the influence of anyone or anything else.
Maybe fate will bring the two of you back together in the future, when all is right. You hope it will. Oh, how you hope it will.
You knew how big of a risk you took while making that decision, that it could ruin everything good you had together. But you felt it was the right thing to do, not only for your own sake, but for his as well. The both of you need to find yourselves, before you search for someone else. Perhaps Jeongguk even more than you, since he didn't have as much time as you for self-searching before you found each other, the reason being how early in his life he started to work.
Ten more minutes gone, and your document remains blank.
You need to stop thinking about it. You need to stop thinking about him.
You run your fingers through your hair before putting your focus on the display in front of you. A sudden inspiration hits you and you exhale in relief as your fingers start pressing the lettered keys.
But a sudden sequence of knocks against your front door interrupts you.
You close your eyes, pinching the bridge of your nose in annoyance.
The universe really doesn't want it to work out for you, does it?
You get up from your seat nonetheless, walking over and unlocking the door before pulling it open. The person standing in front of you almost makes you choke on air, taking a step back in surprise.
Jeongguk.
You simply stand in front of each other, the rest of the world fading as silence surrounds you. It's only the two of you now, eyes meeting for the first time ever since that night when you last saw each other.
You notice he's been crying, his eyes glossy and swollen. It makes your heart ache.
You caused this. This is all your fault. Itâs your fault heâs hurting.
Your vision becomes blurry as tears collect in the corners of your eyes, threatening to fall. But you don't let them, blinking them away and swallowing the sobs back down.
"What are you doing here?" You ask, your voice weak even though you try your best to sound okay.
Who are you trying to fool? You're not okay.
You haven't been ever since that night on the balcony. It takes all of your willpower not to throw your arms around him, apologize and let him know itâll all be okay.
Jeongguk's bottom lip starts quivering again at the sight of you. Youâre right in front of him, but he canât touch you - he canât embrace you even though thatâs all he wants in this world.
"I miss you," he utters with a broken voice.
You don't know what to respond with, but your mind wanders to a place where it shouldn't be - making unwanted words linger on the tip of your tongue.
I miss you too. Please come back.
You can't say that. It goes against everything that's happened.
Jeongguk turns as he hears the sound of keys rattling, knowing very well it's the building inspector that comes every eveing close to midnight to make sure it's peacefu. It's the sound you'd faintly hear outside the door when you had movie marathons, or when you just laid on your couch talking until the AM.
Jeongguk, to show respect and reassure that everything's fine, turns to bow to the man as he walks past - but as he does he's ridden of all strength, and it causes him to stumble forward and fall to his knees on the floor.
Out of habit to care and make sure he's okay, you gasp as you rush up to him and get down to sit on your knees in front of him - grabbing a hold of his shoulders to support him as his head hangs with exhaustion.
Youâve seen this before. This is how he gets when he overworks himself, when he neglects sleep or food because of work. It pains you to see him so weak he canât even stand up.
All you want is for him to be okay, to be healthy and happy.
"Jeongguk," you say, voice laced with concern. "Hey, look at me."
His eyes flutter closed as you cup his face to hold his head up, and you feel him lean into your touch.
"What are you doing?" You ask, shaking lightly to get his attention.
He only lets out a weak groan in response, falling into your embrace and letting his forehead rest against your collarbone. Youâre sitting in the middle of the hallway with a weak man in front of you, completely helpless with no one to call out to for help.
You look around to see that the inspector is long gone, probably in the elevator already on his way to inspect the last few floors.
Shit.
"Jeongguk?" you say to gain his heed again, letting him lean on you still.
"Mm?" he mumbles, voice rough.
"Are you not taking care of yourself?" You ask, guilt and sorrow creating a knot in the pit of your stomach.
You hear him as he starts to sob, tears running down and dripping off his nose - falling onto the fabric of your shirt, causing it to become damp. "I miss you so much."
"I know Jeongguk, I know," you hush, fingers running through the hair at the nape of his neck.
âI love you so much it hurts, all I want is to be with you.â He cries. âWhy did you let me go?â
Your heart squeezes tightly at his words, tears once again welling up in your eyes. You canât help but let them fall this time, but you wipe them away quickly. You need to stay strong for him, and for yourself. If you let yourself fall down that hole, you wonât be able to trust yourself - th hurt could make you do something you regret.
You could take it all back and go back to the way you were before, but you know it's wrong. You can't play with his feelings like that. You need to stay true to your words and find yourself before giving your relationship with him another chance.
No matter how much it hurts to see him like this, and how much it hurts to be away from him - you need to stick with what you've said.
He gathers the strength to pick his head up and look at you, his face dangerously close to yours. Only a few centimeters and you could feel those pink, soft lips against yours again.
"Do you miss me, too?" He whispers, tears still running down the curves of his cheek.
You look away to avoid his gaze, his sad eyes, the stars in them faded - it hurts too much to see them that way. You find yourself caressing his cheekbone with the pad of your thumb, wiping the wet paths away. "Of course I miss you, Gguk. But we can't let it change anything, not right now."
"When?"
"When you've found yourself, and when I've found me - when we've figured out who we are as people, who we are without each other. Maybe we can try again then, if fate is on our side."
"Really?" He sniffles, breathing now a bit more steady as he sits up straighter.
You look into his eyes again as you let your hands fall from his face.
"Only on one condition," you say.
He looks at you with tired, but hopeful eyes. "Anything."
"I want you to take care of yourself. I want you to eat and rest well, and please donât overwork yourself. Be focused on yourself, and on your own goals - and I don't want any of it to be influenced by me. And if you find someone who makes your heart flutter-" you pause, noticing how he opens his mouth to oppose you.
He wants to tell you he won't find anyone else, that he'll wait for you until the both of you are ready. But you speak again before he gets the chance to.
Besides, he shouldn't. If that's what you want, then he'll accept it if he finds someone special.
But no one will compare to you.
"- then I want you to explore that and see what it could turn into - maybe theyâll be your soulmate.â You smile at him. âI want you to have fun with your friends and spend time with your family. If you can do that for me, maybe we'll start over and try again in the future when we know who we are."
Jeongguk feels the weight finally lift off his shoulders and how his heart starts beating more easily at your words. Still sitting on the floor outside your apartment, he looks at you - and it doesn't hurt as much.
He feels free.
Everything is going to be okay.
Heâll still miss you, still miss waking up to you, kissing you, hugging you - but he can live with that. Youâll always be in his heart, and heâll always be in yours.
You have each other.
"Promise me?" He says, holding his pinky out.
You look down, unable to hold back the small smile spreading on your lips.
You hook your pinky with his, looking into his eyes once again - seeing a spark of hope shining in them.

A/N: So Iâm very aware that Iâm nowhere close to finishing my bingo card before the end of the challenge (the end of this month), but Iâm going to try and write them all anyway, no matter how long it takes. My next submission for ficswithluvâs Bulletproof Bingo Event is my Dope inspired drabble, and this one takes inspo from the video rather than the song itself. Gotta love some Dr Seokjin <3Â
âJust a little longer, darling, I promise,â you speak softly into the hair of the boy in your arms, holding him close to your chest and rocking him gently. He whimpers, exhausted from the hours of sobbing and screaming heâd already endured throughout the night. You kiss his temple, pleased to feel his skin has cooled slightly despite the warmth that still radiates from him and sheen of sweat that still lingers.
Youâve been sitting in the A&E waiting room for just under half an hour, but it feels like much longer when your son has cried through most of his waking hours over the last two days. Youâve done everything you can, tried every medicine and home remedy youâve had access to, but Iseulâs condition hasnât improved. It started with a high temperature and gradually grew into a fever that you have been unable to break and you know better than to leave him suffering any longer. Youâre trying to keep calm for his sake, knowing that heâs intuitive and perceptive enough to pick up on your fear even if he is only three years old.Â
âMrs Y/l/n?â A nurse holding a clipboard calls your name across the room, although the prefix catches you off guard at first. You blink a few times before realising she means you, gathering Iseul in your arms before grabbing your purse to follow her. Iseul wraps his arms around your neck, snuggling into your chest and whining at the movement.
âItâs Miss Y/l/n,â you say as politely as you can, offering a smile before she can even begin to form an apology. âDonât worry, most people assume. Itâs okay. Iâm used to it.âÂ
You briefly remember now how you used to meekly allow people to assume you were married just because you had a son despite the absence of a ring of your finger. It didnât take long for you to start correcting people, however, taking pride in everything you were achieving as a single mother rather than submitting to societyâs attempts to shame you for not being with the father, let alone not being married. But when youâd found out you were pregnant just a few months into your last relationship, your still-new boyfriend had panicked and scarpered, so you felt no remorse at not being with him considering how easily heâd left you on your own. Â
The very second Iseul was put into your arms at his birth, you were besotted, and youâd known then, as long as you had your son by your side, you could face anything the world had to throw at you. The last three years haven't been easy by any means, juggling motherhood and your career, but you couldnât even imagine now what your life would be like now without your son.
The nurse shows you into a consultation room, telling you the doctor will be with you in a moment before she leaves. You lay Iseul down on the examination bed and unwrap his hands from your neck despite his complaints, taking them in one of yours instead as you sit beside him. You stroke his hair softly, pushing it away from his forehead as you do so, and hum the sweetest melody you know. Your mother used to sing it to you when you were a child and the tune immediately came back to your memory when Iseul was born, as if it were a secret song only mothers knew. It has always settled him and you take comfort in the fact that you can at least give him that when your medicines havenât worked.
As he gazes up at you, his face red and watery eyes shining under the fluorescent lights, you feel a sharp tug at the ever-present pull on your heart. Itâs like a thread immediately unravelled in your heart when you gave birth to him, the other end attached to your son, pulling you towards him no matter where either of you were. You wish you could help him, that you didnât have to bring him into the hospital environment that you hate so much at three in the morning, but you know this is whatâs best for him.Â
The door suddenly opens behind you, making you jump slightly, and you turn to see the doctor walk in. Youâre not sure if he looks so tall because youâre sitting down or if he really is that tall, but you immediately notice how youâre surprised that the small smile on his face actually reaches his eyes as he walks over to the desk on the other side of the room, white coat billowing out behind him.Â
Your last experience with a hospital doctor was when Iseul was born and, despite it being one of the greatest moments of your life, you canât help the ghost of shame that creeps up your spine when you remember the way your doctor spoke to and about you. Yes, youâd been young, single and with your mother instead of the babyâs father, but youâd never expected such an emotionally detached reaction from the doctor. The nurses had looked after you incredibly, always making sure you were comfortable before and after Iseulâs arrival, but youâd never forget overhearing the doctor as he left, his assertion that he had another baby to deliver - this time to a âproper familyâ. Ever since, youâd had a wary disposition against doctors, constantly on alert that they would tell you that you were doing things wrong by being a single mother and not granting Iseul a male presence in his life, as if that were the most valuable thing in the world.
But this doctor seems a lot younger and, while you try not to let any prejudice shape your opinion, you canât help but think he looks much more welcoming than any doctor youâve met before. Maybe itâs because heâs a paediatrician, or maybe itâs the way his dark eyes seem to be permanently shining with a smile, but you instantly feel your own wariness beginning to ease.Â
Itâs possibly also because heâs really quite attractive. He really does seem to be that tall and you note that the broadness of his shoulders is also not a trick of perspective. His dark hair sits just over his eyebrows, bringing your attention down to his large, dark brown eyes as they read the file that was left on the desk for him. Under his white coat is a simple white shirt, but itâs the tie that catches your attention: itâs bright red, not dissimilar to the red fire truck toy Iseul has at home, but itâs covered in little white hearts. You catch yourself smiling before he looks up at you, turning away and hoping he doesnât notice any dusting on your cheeks.
âWho do we have here then?â he asks as he comes over to the bed holding the file, eyes already searching for every visual clue he can find to help him diagnose your son.
âIseul,â you say with a brief flash of a small smile to the doctor before turning to your son, repeating his name and trying to coax Iseul out from hiding his eyes under his arms. Heâd immediately crossed them over his face when youâd let go at the entrance of the doctor, shielding his eyes from the bright lights above him.Â
The doctor, however, seems unperturbed by your sonâs reluctance to look at him.Â
âAh, hello Iseul,â he says, carrying on as normal as he pulls over the chair by the desk and takes a seat, tucking his coat underneath him out of habit. âMy name is Dr Kim, but you can call me Seokjin, if you like.â When Iseul still doesnât look at him, Seokjin smiles sympathetically and turns to you. âSo, Mum, what seems to be the problem?âÂ
Youâre ashamed that being on the end of his direct gaze makes you a different kind of nervous than you expected when you came to the hospital, especially when your son is lying on the bed beside you. Shaking your head slightly, you miss the smirk on the doctorâs face as you turn to your child.Â
âUh, heâs had a high temperature for the last few days,â you say, placing a protective hand on his tummy, â He keeps saying his head hurts, but paracetamol doesnât seem to help much and I worry about giving him too much. Heâs been off his food, too, even when I make his favourites, and heâs been sick a few times.âÂ
Seokjin nods as he takes a few notes, adding to whatâs already written in the file in his hand. You canât figure out if his blank expression is solemn or just concentration and it makes your heart beat a little faster for the little boy under your hand.Â
âIseul, buddy, is it alright if I take your temperature?âÂ
Your son shakes his head under his arms before whimpering at the movement. Â
âShh, baby, itâs okay,â you coo. âDoctor Kimâs gonna make you feel better, okay?â
âI sure am,â Seokjinâs voice is confident but warm and almost playful and you feel a flutter of relief when you see Iseulâs eyes peek out from under his arms and flicker towards him. âDo you think you can sit up for me?â Iseulâs not had much experience with doctors, not any that he would remember, anyway, and you donât want to pass on your hesitancy, so you smile and nod encouragingly when he finally looks to you for reassurance.Â
Iseul thinks for a few seconds before he reaches out for you and you help him to sit up, wrapping your arm around him so that he can shuffle up to your side. You see his eyes widen as he takes in Seokjinâs full appearance for the first time, his attention immediately drawn to the shiny stethoscope around the doctorâs neck.Â
âYou gonna let Doctor check your temperature?â you squeeze his shoulder lightly and stroke his hair again as he watches Seokjin curiously, his eyes constantly drifting down to the instrument around the doctorâs neck.
âAll you gotta do is hold this under your tongue for me for a few seconds, okay?â Seokjin tells him, showing him a small thermometer, and your son nods shyly, still sniffling slightly. âFabulous,â Seokjin praises his cooperation and you grin at the little smile that creeps onto your sonâs face. âNow, letâs see how wide you can open your mouth, shall we?â Iseul makes a large âOâ with his lips, making both you and the doctor chuckle. âOh, I know a grown boy like you can do better than that!â Seokjin teases and Iseul proves him right, allowing the doctor to slip the thermometer under his tongue. âNow, see if you can hold that perfectly still for me - without biting it,â he quickly adds, knowing most children are immediately tempted to do just that. âPretend itâs a straw, okay?â Iseul does as heâs told, looking up at you before crossing his eyes to look down his nose at the thermometer.Â
âGood job, baby,â you encourage him as he keeps flicking his eyes between you and the instrument. You press a kiss to the top of his dark brown hair and are relieved to feel that his temperature has lessened slightly, even if only temporarily.
âLet me see?â Doctor Kim leans over and you watch him take note of the temperature before taking the thermometer from Iseulâs mouth and laying it gently on a tray beside the bed. âExcellent, I knew you could do it!â He offers Iseul a high five, which your son eagerly grants him with more enthusiasm than youâve seen in him lately and it makes your heart swell just that little bit more. Seokjin carefully takes his stethoscope from around his neck and holds it in his lap before leaning forward conspiratorially. âNow, as you were such a good boy, Iâm allowed to show you a little bit of magic⊠would you like to see it?âÂ
Iseul nods but then frowns, glancing at you before looking back to Dr Kim.
âMummy canât watch, though.â A cry of indignation escapes you at your sonâs words, but Seokjin simply laughs.
âNo?â Iseul shakes his head with a solemn expression, as if it pains him to speak the truth, and Seokjin continues to humour him, despite the splutters of objection youâre trying to swallow. âAnd whyâs that?â
âMummy hasnât been a good girl,â your son states this like itâs obvious, much to Seokjinâs amusement.
âExcuse me?â you can feel the heat rise in your cheeks, a million thoughts flying through your head and a slight stab of betrayal in your heart, although you werenât even sure what heâd be talking about. Sure, you enjoyed a glass of wine or two on a Friday night, but you always made sure to tidy everything away before your son awoke for breakfast the next morning. You didnât swear in front of him. You hadnât had anyone other than your closest friends over to your house since Iseul was born, and the three dates youâd tried had ended at the front step.
âOh dear,â Seokjin sighs, although a playful smirk tugs at his lips as he looks at you, dark eyes shining like jet as he quickly looks you from head to toe. âMummyâs been a bad girl, huh?âÂ
An aggressive blush fills your cheeks and you suddenly feel like the little room is overheating, too stuffy to breathe properly as the devilishly handsome doctor in front of you simply quirks an eyebrow. âStop flirting with the doctor!â you berate yourself. âYouâre here for your son!â Your eyes involuntarily drop down to Seokjinâs hands, but his left hand is tucked neatly under his right over the top of his stethoscope, so you canât see if a ring sits on his finger or not. You presume he is married, though, or at least dating someone, given how absolutely perfect he seems to be.Â
â...no,â Iseul says, looking up to the ceiling as if deep in thought and you recognise it as the way he tries to avoid looking at you when youâve caught him trying to lie, and Seokjin looks back to him as soon as he speaks. âBut she hasnât done nothing good, neither! I had the âmometer in my mouth, she didnât.â
âAhh, I see,â Seokjin nods sagely, his hand pressed to his chin and the other folded across his chest, pouting slightly as he considers Iseulâs argument. âYou make a good point,â he says, âhow about this, then - I show you the magic, and then you can show Mummy?âÂ
âYouâll teach me?â Iseulâs eyes light up, not even illness getting in the way of his love for magic tricks - especially magic tricks he can perform for you.Â
âOf course!â Seokjin grins, âalthough Iâm sure youâll do it first try no problem.â He looks to you and winks quickly, lifting the stethoscope slightly to signal to you what he was planning, and you return the slightest nod you can manage without drawing your sonâs attention. âYou ready?â he asks your son, who immediately turns to you and pushes at your arm.Â
âDonât look, Mummy! Not allowed!â
Happy to see your son with more energy, you play along for his benefit, dramatically sighing and turning your body slightly so that he thinks you arenât watching. You can, however, see his reflection in the glass-lined cabinet on the other side of the room, and watch as Seokjin presents the stethoscope to your son.Â
âNow this,â he says, and you smile at the way he softens his voice to make it sound much more fantastical for Iseul, âis a very special thing. It lets you hear a personâs heart.â
âWow! Really?â Reflection-Iseul leans forward slightly and puts his hand out, reaching out to touch the stethoscope before retracting his hand, as if he might break the magic if he does. His eyes are wide and awestruck despite the traces of illness still lingering in his reddened cheeks and dampened hairline.
âReally. How about I show you how itâs done, and then you can try it on Mummy?â Your sonâs reflection nods as avidly as he can without hurting himself, although you still see the traces of a frown pull at his brow when he does so. Seokjin puts the earpieces in before taking hold of the other end, showing it to Iseul and explaining that this is the magic piece that lets him hear peopleâs hearts. He explains that the heart can only be heard by good, kind people who care about others, which is why they all become doctors and nurses, before pointing to the part of Iseulâs chest heâs going to listen to and telling him he has to sit still for it to work.
And it works without a hitch, Iseul watching, amazed, as Seokjin listens to his heartbeat. After a few seconds, Seokjin starts nodding to himself and then pulls away.Â
âYep, seems like weâve got a good heart in there,â he says, putting the stethoscope back in his lap as he takes some notes. âYou should be able to do this magic no problem.â
A tugging at your sleeve encourages you to turn around, fistfuls of your jacket sleeve in your sonâs hands, and you smile down at your son.
âDid you see the magic?â you ask him, and he is all but bouncing on the bed.Â
âI did! Dr Seokjin says Iâve got a good heart and I can do the magic, too!â
You look at the doctor in question, catching him watching your interaction with your son with a warmth in his eyes before he notices you looking at him and looks back down at his papers, clearing his throat. You refrain from smirking at the blush on his cheeks and turn back to your son.
âWow, really? You can do magic? Can you show me?âÂ
Without any further prompting needed, Seokjin lends forward as he removes the stethoscope once again, this time scooting his chair closer to the bed. He offers the chest piece to Iseul, telling him to hold onto it while he moves to put the earpieces in place. He plans to hold them rather than letting them press on Iseulâs young ears, but as soon as even the slightest pressure touches his ears, Iseul shrieks and drops his end of the stethoscope. He pushes Seokjinâs hands away and covers his ears with his own, burying his face into your side. Â
Youâre immediately panicking, but Seokjin quickly retracts the stethoscope and drops it to the bed, nothing more than a brief frown furrowing his brow before he reaches into his pocket to pull out a small instrument.Â
âDo your ears hurt, Iseul?â Your son nods against you, your arms already wrapped around him. âCan I have a look?â You expect your son to scream in refusal given the fact that Seokjinâs last instrument caused the pain in the first place, but youâre surprised when your son simply nods again, rubbing his eyes as he sits up again. Seokjin seems to have gained his trust incredibly quickly, and youâd be lying if you said you werenât thrilled that he wasnât holding his experience against the doctor.Â
With the utmost care, Seokjin uses the tool in his hand to check Iseulâs ears before pulling away with a soft, yet somewhat relieved, sigh.Â
âIt appears that Iseul has an infection in his left ear, which explains everything youâve said heâs been going through,â he says, turning to you briefly before rolling back over to the desk. âIâll get some antibiotics sorted for him, and heâll be as right as rain in no time.âÂ
The smile he gives you is reassuring, but you canât bring yourself to smile back. You hold your son close as you curse yourself for not even thinking about the possibility of an ear infection, especially as it was now so obvious as you recalled Iseulâs increased habit of touching his ears over the last few days. Heâd told you his head had been hurting, but you hadnât realised heâd actually meant his ears. You feel a sinking in your chest at the idea that youâve failed your own son, whose cries have now settled back down to hiccups, but Seokjin quickly catches on.Â
âHey,â his voice is soft, calling you out of your reverie. He doesnât want to assume what youâre thinking, but heâs seen the same look on plenty of parentsâ faces over the last few years and he can take a good guess. âHeâll be okay.â
You nod quietly, still frowning but somehow reassured by the simple statement.Â
âThank you, Doctor,â you say, rising to put your purse over your shoulder properly this time before lifting your son onto your hip. You take the signed prescription slip he offers you, ready to go off in search of someone to fill it for you, but he places a gentle hand on your arm to stop you.Â
âYouâre doing a good job, Miss Y/l/n,â he says softly, and it takes you a few seconds to realise he hasnât immediately assumed youâre married. âDonât pressure yourself, okay?âÂ
Itâs been a long time since someone has outwardly praised you like this, especially a stranger, and it catches you off guard, your breath catching in your throat. Seokjinâs gaze flickers between your eyes for a few seconds, waiting until heâs sure youâve taken him seriously, before he offers a gentle smile and removes his hand from your arm.
As you leave the examination room, Seokjin directs you to the hospitalâs pharmacy and assures you that you should be able to pick up the antibiotics from them without an issue. He seems to hesitate, opening his mouth and closing it again before wishing you a good night and walking away, and you try not to think too much about the lingering flutter in your chest as you set off in your own direction.Â
You sink back into your chair as you place your mug back on the table, directing your gaze out of the large floor-to-ceiling window to the high street just beyond it. You idly watch as the Saturday morning shoppers hurry back and forth, some families and couples lingering at shop windows as others push on to their next destination. The summer sun casts everything in a brightness that you canât help but feel joy in, even as the sunâs rays are amplified through the glass and make your legs feel like theyâre burning up.Â
You turn back to look around the coffee shop youâre sat in, reminding yourself that you donât have any reason to rush right now. The rare, stolen moment of unhurried peace that you havenât felt in a long time is something you know you need to cherish, because in just over twenty-four hours your son will be coming home from his grandparentsâ house, but it does feel strange to not have your son joyfully chattering across the table from you.Â
Your mother had offered to let Iseul stay over at their for the weekend, half out of her love of spending time with her grandson and half out of concern for the way you were constantly rushed off of your feet, either from being a mother or from your job as a curator for the National History Museum. It was a small treat for you to be able to get a weekend to yourself and go shopping on your own, not having to worry about your son running in and out of changing rooms while you tried on new clothes, and youâve decided to also indulge in a slightly overpriced coffee without having to rush while you have the chance.Â
As your eyes skim down the line of patrons waiting to order, you think you recognise one of them but canât quite place where you know him from. Heâs tall, clearly several inches above the other people in the line, with dark hair sitting on top of a pair of dark-rimmed glasses. The light of his phone reflects in his lenses as he gazes down at it, avidly watching or reading whatever it is thatâs caught his attention, and his lips are pushed out in a small pout in the midst of his concentration.
Despite the weather, heâs in black skinny jeans that look sinfully tight above the knees and bring further attention to his height, but you suppose the loose white t-shirt hanging off his broad shoulders must be helping him to stay rather cool-
Wait... incredibly tall, broad shoulders⊠it couldnât be?
So lost is he in his phone, the man at the end of your gaze doesnât notice the gap forming in front of him until the slightly elderly patron behind him clears his throat gently. You hear him apologise several times to the man behind him (who just smiles softly and tells him not to worry) and lets the man go up the counter first by way of an apology, and itâs only when you hear his voice that you realise who he is.
Youâre pretty certain the jump in your heartbeat is cause for concern when you finally recognise him without the white coat. You start slightly, almost choking on nothing and quickly hide your reddening face by looking down at your drink, then out of the window again, then down to your phone. You bring up the home screen even though you know no one has texted you, desperate for something to do to put off looking up again, instead trying to figure out what had caused your reaction in the first place.Â
Of course, he was attractive - in fact he was ridiculously so - and he had been kind to you and your son, but that was his job as a paediatrician. Maybe it was the way heâd reassured you, been one of the first strangers in a while to assuage your underlying fears that you werenât adequate as a single mother, or perhaps it was that last lingering look that had stayed with you as heâd said goodbye in A&E-
âMiss Y/l/n?â Your thoughts are cut short by a voice beside you. Looking up, you see the broad-shouldered doctor standing beside your table, holding his own drink in a takeaway cup. He smiles when you look up at him, apparently happy to have recognised you.
âDr Kim?â You immediately blush at the squeaky voice that tumbles out of your mouth, a hand flying to cover your mouth.
âCall me Seokjin, please,â he smiles, a gentle blush on his cheeks when he canât quite meet your eyes, seemingly less confident outside of his hospital halls. âSorry for interrupting, I just thought Iâd come over and say hello.âÂ
In actual fact, he has no idea what made him come over to you. He sees his patients and their parents outside of the hospital all the time and never bats an eyelid, knowing it comes with the territory of working at the main hospital in the city, but when heâd seen you staring out of the window, a serene look on your face as you watched the people passing you by, heâd felt compelled to go over to you. So when the barista had handed him his drink, heâd followed his feet to stand beside your table.Â
âHowâs your son doing?â
âIseul? Heâs fine, thank you.â You think back to what heâd said to you before youâd made to leave. âHe was right as rain in no time, just like you said.â God, why did that sound better in your head than it did out loud?
âIâm glad,â Seokjinâs eyes briefly disappear behind his glasses when he nods happily, the reflection of the light above him making the lens white until he looks down to you again. âI told you he would be.â He tries not to wince as he groans internally, cursing himself for being so awkward when it comes to small talk. Itâs never been his strong point, which is why he likes working with children as they donât do small talk either. Heâd rather field all of their weird and wonderful thoughts and questions than talk to their parents about the weather or sports he doesnât watch.Â
You both fall into silence, still awkwardly smiling at each other without quite making eye contact. Your pulse is racing in your ears and you know itâs not the coffee.
âWould you like to join me?â Youâre not quite sure where the offer comes from but you gesture to the chair on the other side of your table before you can help yourself. Seokjinâs eyes widen behind his lenses at your question and he looks at the chair with an expression that could be either pained or offended - youâre not quite sure.Â
It takes a few seconds for you to remember that heâd ordered his drink to go, the takeaway cup taunting you from his hand as he shifts his weight from foot to foot and now youâre not sure whether to hastily backtrack or just wait for him to reject you.Â
âNever mind-â
âIâd love to-â
You blink at each other when you speak at the same time, but luckily Seokjin blesses you with a chuckle rather and breaks the tension holding your heart hostage.Â
âI wouldnât be disturbing you?â he asks, and when you shake your head with a smile he takes the seat.
âYou donât have to, if youâre busy?â You point to his cup, wondering where heâd been planning on going with it, wondering if there was maybe a partner waiting for him somewhere on the street outside.
âOh, no, Iâm not busy,â he fiddles with the lid on his cup, suddenly shy as he admits, âI donât really like sitting in cafes alone, so I tend to just get it to go instead.â He hesitates and then looks up at you, his gaze steady despite the blush of pink creeping down the side of his neck. âBut I guess Iâm not alone this time, though, am I?â
âYouâre not,â you agree, delighting in the way his lips transform into the most adorable smile youâve ever seen on a grown man. You decide then and there that, even if itâs only for today, youâre going to try and keep that smile on his face for as long as possible. Clearing your throat, you lean your arms against the table and meet his gaze when he looks over at you. âSo, Seokjin-â
âJin.â
âIâm sorry?â
âMy friends call me Jin,â he clarifies and you feel another little skip in your chest, then he motions for you to continue speaking as he lifts his drink to take a sip and hide his own blushing cheeks.Â

Welcome to FicsWithLuvâs first event celebrating the anniversary of BTSâ debut! As many of you know, BTS debuted seven years ago on June 13, 2013. To commemorate that, weâve collected all of their songs over the years - albums, EPs, mixtapes, collabs, soundcloud releases, you name it - and weâre asking you to write stories based off these songs!Â
For those of you unfamiliar with a bingo writing challenge, the rules are simple. We give you a bingo card filled with BTS songs, and your job is to write fics based off those songs. You can write as much or as little as you want, whenever you want! The fics can be anything from short drabbles to full-length series, any member, any pairing or poly, any genre, as long as each one relates to one of the songs on your bingo card.
There are rewards for filling out a whole line, multiple lines, or the whole card - which we're calling FWL Bingo Tiers - but you are more than welcome to only write one or two squares if you wish. The choice is all yours! We know that it can be hard to know how much time youâll be able to spend on an event, especially these days, which is why we want it to be as low-commitment and high-entertainment as possible!Â
Interested? Read the rules and the timeline below, then simply get in contact with any of the FicsWithLuv admins via tumblr dm (their URLs will be at the bottom of this post!), off-anon ask to the net, or through the FWL Discord, and we can give you a card! An example of a bingo card for this event is as follows:
Rules
To sign up, reblog this post (likes donât count), and fill out this form. You also must be following FicsWithLuv. An admin will get back to you as soon as possible with your personal Bingo Card!
You do not have to be an affiliated author with FWL, though weâd certainly appreciate you checking out our applications if you arenât!
You do not have to be over 18 to join this event; however, weâll be requiring your name, URL and date of birth to sign up and if you are a minor, we will not reblog any NSFW content from you and will blacklist you from our net. To be clear, 18+ can sign up and write any content, under 18 can still sign up but will not be permitted to write NSFW content.Â
We will only reblog the works of affiliated authors using the network tag. We wonât reblog works from unaffiliated authors however we encourage you to use the #fwlbingo event tag! At the end of the event, we'll put a link to that tag on our blog, so make sure yours can be found! as when we put a link to it anywhere on our blog, weâll use that event tag.
At the end of the posting period, weâll have a post congratulating those that have completed rows or whole bingos. You donât have to write that much, but we want to reward you if you do! Please let an admin know when youâve achieved a row or full bingo and weâll congratulate you at the end of the event.Â
There are four tiers you can achieve: bronze (1 row), silver (2 rows), gold (3-4 rows) and bulletproof purple (5 rows/full bingo).Â
We have numerous different cards for this event, made with many different designs based on BTS albums, with a total of 168 BTS songs. You may get in contact with us at any time to change your card once, however you will then start from scratch on your rows.Â
You are allowed to get a second card if you finish your first.
You can pull out at any time. You donât have to provide any reason, just get in contact with FWL or any of the admins. However, since you can write as much or as little as you want, you are most welcome to stay in the event even if you canât write any more.
Every fic you post must relate to the song square chosen. Get creative! You can derive meaning from the music, the lyrics, the MV, anything!
Your titles don't have to be the song title, but we do ask that they are at least lyrics or something related to the song somehow! Get creative with that, too, though!
We ask that you include rating and any possible trigger warnings at the beginning of each fic. Affiliated authors have their own network rules for reblogging, but as ambassadors of FicsWithLuv, it would be appreciated if all of you take the care to put those easily visible on your fic for the courtesy of those reading.Â
We require that you post a link, a shoutout or a tag to FWL and the event at the beginning of each fic posted. Fics for the bingo rows wonât be counted if they donât include this.Â
There is no discord server for this event. If youâre already on the FWL server youâre welcome to discuss it there, or you can make groups of your own with others you know doing the event. All important announcements will be posted on this blog with the tag #fwlbingo announcement.

A/N: Part of the Bulletproof Bingo Event hosted by @ficswithluvâ
The sun had long since fallen for its slumber, allowing the moon to grace the world with its silver beauty. Millions of stars were intricately stitched into the sky overhead, and the dew from the grass leaving small wet patches on Seokjinâs clothes, but he didnât mind.
It was in the early hours of the new day that he waited for you. The meeting spot was far from the world he called his home, but he went out to the country side where the grass reached his knees and the purple wisteria tree you loved so dearly created a veil between the two worlds.
Every night when he came to this spot, you were already there waiting from him, hidden within the branches and their petals, that ever-patient smile painted on your lips. Only on rare occasions did he find himself arriving first.
On those nights, heâd usually hide behind the tree until you arrived, cheeks flushed red and chest heaving, worried that youâd been too late. It was then that youâd sigh, allowing yourself to catch your breath as you sat on the ground, fingers running along the blades of grass as if they were a dear friend. Heâd then wait, a gentle smile always present as he listened to your soft mutterings for a few moments before suddenly appearing.
Sometimes there would be the clanking of glasses, an occasional treat hidden within the picnic basket youâd bring along. Then the kisses would be rich with sangria stained lips, but Jin would always say that heâd get drunk off you and not the wine. Youâd laugh, possibly even call him corny, and the stars would shine brighter in the midnight sky.
Tonight however, he laid on the grass in front of the trunk of the wisteria, recalling the day it had been planted. That had been a different time and way of life. Easily over a hundred years and was yet just as beautiful as the day it grew, unknowingly from his magic.
Magic that sadly, many have forgotten.
These were now the days of lore and myths, stories told to wide eyes souls and used for lessons to navigate life, but everyone seemed to forget that perhaps, once upon a time, were the very fabric of everyday life. Gods and Goddesses once roamed the Earth before retiring to their new homes in the heavens. Only a handful remained and lived in modern society.
As God of the moon, Seokjin slept his mornings away and spent his nights making sure that the moon stayed in the sky until dawn. Whether or not he was in a good mood or not, was reflected in how dull or bright the stars appeared.
Most of the time, the stars were easily seen. When he was with you underneath the wisteria tree, they gleamed liked freshly polished diamonds. For living as long as he had, it was hard to be affected by the on goings on mortals and he had all but managed to turn a blind eye to their antics. Sometimes on his travels, heâd spy someone walking alone or a couple out on a late night adventure and heâd be reminded of you, and partially amused, heâd bless the rest of their night or offer them protection with the moonlight, ensuring a safe journey to wherever they wandered.
You were the only human that he cared deeply about, and when you were sick or hurt, the stars would dull, and remain so until you were yourself again. Jin was a God and yet, the very thing he was in charge of, was really controlled by you. He was wrapped around your precious fingers, wanting nothing more than to please and treasure you.
âJin?â
Tilting his head, his lips curled into a smile when seeing you standing in front of him, the wisteria petals parting like a curtain for you. The scarf you wore to cover your head was silver, glowing every so faintly that one might mistake it for a reflection of the moonlight up above. For a brief second, the light surrounding it grew brighter in his presence before disappearing.
âWhat are you doing here so early?â you softly asked, letting the branches slide from your palm as you joined him.
Jin raised an eyebrow as he stood, slipping his hands into yours as he gave a gentle kiss to your cheek. âIs there another who you meet here?â He teased.
âAh, but youâd know if I was meeting someone else,â you shot back, unfolding the blanket on to the ground by the tree.
âThat is true, the moon sees all.â
His smile softened as you laughed, the sound reminding him of the music that Jungkook played to soothe the other Gods when things didnât go their way. But yours was better.
You carefully lowered yourself to the ground with his help, sighing when you leaned backwards against the trunk. For a brief moment, his smile faded at the sight of your face scrunching up, knowing that it wasnât because you had sat on an awkwardly placed root.
âDarling,â Jin said, settling next to you on the blanket. âI can come to you so you donât have to walk this far out.â
But you shook your head, choosing to lean against his chest as he curled his arm around your waist. âIâm fine. I swear, these trips are the only time I get to leave the house these days.â
He knew that. Which was why he had asked Jungkook to check on you when he made his journeys with the sun. Some days were better than others, but according to him, you spent the days sleeping more often than not. It worried Jin greatly, and even his brothers were showing their concern. With the modern age and new medicine, mortals had begun to live longer than before.
However, this mortal body was already failing, and you were barely halfway to your thirty years.
Inhaling the sweet scent of the wisteria, he laced his fingers with yours, trying to ignore how they had a shake to them that didnât used to be there.
âPlease,â he whispered, kissing your cheek once, twice. âIâd hate for you to get hurt on your way.â
âJinââ
âIf you wonât let me take you to see Jungkook, then at least let me visit you at home.â
You pressed your lips together in silence, choosing to focus on the flowers instead of meeting his gaze. This wasnât the first time the two of you had this discussion. Ever since that fateful day two years ago, all he wanted to do was make things comfortable for you, but that wasnât what you wanted. You wanted life to go on as normal. Like you always have.
But how could he do that when the life you were supposed to live was only a small fraction of what it should be?
âDo you remember the first time we met?â You suddenly asked.
He frowned at the change of conversation, slightly frustrated that once again, you were choosing to ignore your safety. Despite his worries, he leaned his head against the tree, able to recall the memory with ease.
âI had been a so young,â he simply said.
A warm breeze drifted into the area, the purple branches swaying as both of you recalled a simpler time.
âAnd so handsome,â you teased, squeezing his hand.
The indignant sound that left his mouth would have sent his brothers laughing from their homes in the heavens, but it had you giggling. âI am still handsome,â he argued. âIn fact, Iâm even more handsome now. Iâve aged like fine wine over the centuries.â
Rolling your eyes, you settled your free hand on his leg. There was a twinkle in your gaze that was strong tonight, glowing brightly as you stared at the grass in front of you like it held all the secrets in the world.
âStill so full of yourself,â you joked, relaxing once again upon feeling his other hand settle on top of yours. âAnd that was how I knew you were a God. So cocky.â
If any other mortal had said that â and it was a couple centuries earlier - they would have been cursed without a second thought. Coming from you, Jin simply chuckled. âUsually youâre praising me for that darling,â he murmured, kissing your temple as you elbowed him.
Blush tinted your cheeks but you ignored his comment. âIf you told me back at our first meeting that Iâd be spending the rest of eternity being reincarnated, a new body, a new life, to be with you â a God nonetheless â foreverâŠI wouldnât have believed you.â
Your voice had softened, piquing his interest as he recalled that fateful day himself. He hadnât expected anyone else to be in the clearing, especially in the middle of the night, but there you were, standing alone and hugging yourself as you stared up at the stars. The plain dress hadnât done anything to emphasize your figure, but the fire in your eyes was alive, daring him to do the wrong thing.
One gaze was all it took for him to be interested, and with your smart remarks, he couldnât help but be drawn to you. Every night he went back to that spot hoping to see you again. Sometimes you werenât there, but more often than not, you waiting for him with a witty remark.
âDo you remember our first kiss?â He asked, resting his head against yours.
Closing your eyes, you hummed in agreement.
Back then you thought it was impossible for the two of you to be together. He was a God, destined to live forever while your existence was numbered by the Fates.
The idea had been silly, but you had been concerned with what would happen after you passed away. A young woman who was in love with Jin, you knew that unless you became pregnant with his child, your legacy was going to die with you since you refused to love another. You wanted something to live and prosper long after you had left this world.
The sapling had caught your attention one day at the market, the idea that it would have bloom purple and grow into a massive tree was what you sold you as you handed over the coins to the seller, eagerly carrying it back to your home where you waited until the stars came out to plant it. You had been digging the hole when Jin arrived, curious as to what you were doing.
âThis is my legacy,â you told him, stopping to wipe your brow.
He frowned while smiling, amused that you were concerned with such a simple thing. âA tree?â
âYes, a tree. But itâll grew tall, and beautiful, outshining everything in this clearing forever.â
Not wanting to waste time, you continued to dig, only needing to go a little further until itâd be deep enough.
The air was warm that summer, and as you dug, he took the chance to admire you. You werenât like the Goddesses he knew, who demanded to be pampered and chased after by multiple partners, vying for everyoneâs attention but never satisfied when someone specific wasnât looking their way. Dirt didnât scare you, and because you lived in a small home by yourself, you did the work that men usually did, thus making your hands rougher and leaving aches in your body from the dayâs work.
âWonât your legacy live on with your children?â He forced himself to ask, his chest aching at the mere thought of you being with another.
Hesitating, you barely glanced at Jin. âIâŠI donât plan on getting married,â you said instead.
Deciding that the hole was big enough, you tossed the shovel to the side and got on your knees to remove the cloth wrapping from the base of the tree.
This was news to Jin however. He had always thought that youâd one day marry someone who was your equal. âWhy not?â
âI wonât marry someone who I donât love.â With delicate touches, you carefully undid the twine that held the wrapping together, setting it to the side for later use.
âDo you love someone?â
âYesâŠbut itâs not possible for us to be together.â
You hadnât planned to say that, but the words spilled out of your mouth before you were able to stop them. It was too late now.
The wrapping was finally removed, but you didnât hurry to plant it into the ground. Instead, you kept it in your lap, the dirt staining the cloth of your dress. There was a longing within to tell him the truth, wanting to say that you loved him so much that it hurt when he hugged you goodbye, or how during the day while doing the simplest of tasks, your mind wandered to what it would be like to kiss his plush lips, even delving into fantasies of sharing a bed with him. Of being by his side as more than a friend.
With every daydream, your heart swelled with love only to get beaten when you remembered what you both were. There just was no possible way it could work out.
Your vision blurred and stung as you sniffed, reaching up with the back of your hand to wipe away the tears, but a hand stopped you from doing so. Lifting your head, you saw Jin on his knees in front of you, the sapling in one hand while he caressed your cheek with the other. He quietly wiped away the tears, took your hand, and placed the sapling into the hole. Together, the two of you pushed the dirt back over it, gently patting the mound it made once it was securely planted.
âYou know,â Jin softly spoke, lacing his fingers together with yours. âAnything is possible, if youâre willing to take a chance.â
He was closer than you originally thought, your gaze darting down to his lips before looking into his eyes. They were as dark as the night, timeless even. A soft breeze rustled his black hair, his bangs covering his forehead and without realizing it, you were reaching up to brush them out of the way.
As if under a spell, you leaned forward when he did, his lips gently touching yours in a sweet kiss. And then another, and another. He released your hand to cup your face, allowing him to add pressure to the kisses, drawing them out to make each one last.
It was the moment the two of you had been holding yourselves back from, and now that it happened, there was no going back. Jin hadnât even realized that he was crying himself until your fingers gently touched his face, forcing him to pull back at the wetness on his face. Seeing that you were in a similar state, he brought you into his arms, being mindful of the newly planted tree.
Caught up in your emotions, neither of you saw the silver moonlight outlining each branch and leaf of the sapling, the tears of two lovers mixing together and sinking into the tree itself, going all the way down to the roots to help anchor it to the clearing. Forever.
âI miss those days,â you murmured, resurfacing from the memory.
Jin simply kissed the side of your head, trying to ignore the tightening in his stomach. âThey were simpler times.â
You tilted your head back against his shoulder, gazing up the wisteria tree. It had grown so beautifully since the day you planted it, and while no one else remembered who had been the one to do it, the legacy you had so desired back then was fulfilled.
âJin, are there any wisteria trees where you live?â
He froze, the tightening of emotions traveling to his heart as he recognized the longing in your voice. It was the same one he had heard all those years ago when you brought up being with him always, but wanting a mortal life at the same time. Reincarnation had been the answer to solve both problems.
âYes,â he answered, licking his lips as his arms tightened just the slightest around your frail body. âThis exact one in fact is in my garden. Why do you ask Darling?â
âIâm tired,â you said.
There was no easy way to say it, but it was true. For the first time in all your reincarnations, the body you were given for this life was not going to die of old age like the others had. You were sick. The treatments and medicines made you worse and you ached everywhere. When you werenât at the hospital you were stuck in your bedroom, your parents always there to help you move about and get you things, hovering by the doorway in-case you needed something else. It was overwhelming and tiring. The only time you felt like yourself was when you managed to sneak out while they slept, taking these stolen hours with Jin to relax and be yourself.
Now that you tired out more easily, you took naps often and each time you closed your eyes, a memory from before replayed itself out. Whether it was from your very first life, or your fortieth, to all the weddings you and Jin had, you got to relive them all. There were just so many. It was truly a gift to be able to live so many lives and remember them, but it wasnât until now â diagnosed and dying from cancer â that you realized how simpler it all would have been, had you only joined Jinâs side in heaven the first time.
Yes, the two of you had been so young, so in love, but you had also been so wrapped up in finding a solution â him wanting you to be with him forever, and you not wanting to have more than a mortal life â that you had been blind to the consequences.
Until you were able to truly understand your memories and locate the wisteria tree, Jin spent years alone, waiting for you appear once again. The reunions and the years together were always worth it, but he also saw you grow older, watched as strands of hair turned white and grey, and the wrinkles became more defined. He stayed by your side through it all, the good and bad, and he was always the one to suffer when the day came where you wouldnât open your eyes.
The weight of living so many lives wasnât a light burden either.
âDarling, I can bring you home ââ
You shook your head though, carefully reaching up to remove the scarf that Jin had given you the night after you shaved your hair off. It had been thinning and falling out in clumps, and this way, it was easier to manage. âNo Jin, we both know thatâs not what I mean.â
He pressed his lips together, feeling his eyes sting at the possibility of what you were implying. âWhat do you want to do then?â
Heart racing, you turned to face him, unable to keep your own tears at bay upon seeing his face. Jin, your lover, husband, hadnât age at all since the day you met. He was exactly the same, while you felt like a stranger with the memories of a million different versions of yourself.
âI donât want to be reborn after this,â you said. âI want to go home, with you to the stars. As grateful as I am for all these lives Iâve lived, itâs exhausting and not worth having, when we could have had one life together this entire time.â
For a split second, Jin was prepared to argue your request, to give multiple reasons for why you shouldnât let this go, and then the fight was all gone. Gods were always giving. Whether they were gifts, blessings, curses, punishments, they gave and gave, but rarely did they take it back. You were the love of his immortal life. He didnât want to lose you, and the idea of you not being reborn again was terrifying.
âI canât take you straight to heaven with me,â he softly explained. âYour soul will go to the Underworld where itâll be judged. Only then can I try and plead our case, but it wonât be up to me.â
âI know Seokjin,â you said, using his full name for the first time in so long. âJust because Iâve had more than my fair share, doesnât mean Iâve forgotten our ways.â
He didnât stop the chuckle that escaped. Only you would reprimand a God. Cupping the side of your face, his smile reappeared when you leaned into his touch, sighing as he ran his thumb across the skin. There had been so many rebirths that he had lost count of which life you were on, and while your physical features were not always the same, the littlest things from your first life were still there. Like the small scar on your chin from when you had been sharpening an arrow. Or the slight curve in the middle of your nose, a result from when he suggested taking a swim in a lake after midnight. How was he supposed to know that youâd slip and land on a rock?
Jin leaned in and kissed your chapped lips, the scarf slipping from your hands as it landed on the blanket underneath you.
âThis will be your last mortal life,â he firmly said, pulling back to see the relief in your eyes. The power of his words rippling in the air, the stars dulling as his heart ached. How long have you wanted this but not said a word to him? âAfter this, your soul will go to the Underworld to be judged by Seonghwa, just like everyone else.â
You gently smiled at him as you watched Jin take the scarf you always wore and loosely tie it around your neck. His fingers brushed against your skin but he remained quiet, the moon light dimming when he felt how cold you were.
âThank you,â you said.
He shook his head, bringing you to his chest and hugging you. Whether or not releasing you of being reborn hurried up what time frame you had left, he wanted to enjoy this moment. The last thing he wanted to think about was the fateful day to come. All he wanted was to pretend that he wasnât a God, because instead of healing you like any other would have done, he had taken away the one thing that guaranteed you a future.
All because you asked, and he loved you too much to say no.
Jin held your hand to his lips, refusing to look anywhere else but at you.
It was the moment that he had been dreading, the one you had been looking forward to.
Jungkook had woken Jin up in the middle of the day â something that no one would ever do â and it was only when he mentioned your name that Jin listened to what the sun God had to say. Apparently, your illness had taken a turn for the worse, and the doctors now had morphine in your IV drip.
âItâll make her comfortable,â Jungkook explained, having followed after Jin to the hospital room that you were staying in.
It had been a few days since then, and Jin had taken to staying by your side as long as he could. The only time he left your side was when he was needed to make the moon rise and descend, but even then, it was a half-hearted effort. Like always when your time came to an end, his emotions bested him, dulling the stars to smudged glass and cloudy nights.
Normally, heâd be able to find hope within his heart at the prospect of you returning to him in your next life, sometimes even making a game out of it to see where you might come from, what language youâd speak, howâd you look, but it was all different now.
Lowering his gaze, he kissed the back of your hand, a small smile appearing at the sight of the silver wedding band on your ring finger. While the two of you hadnât been able to get married in this life, it had been his one request that you eagerly said yes too, sighing when he had slipped it on for you. He always wore his, having refused to take it off after the first wedding because in his eyes, no matter how many lives you lived or centuries passed by, you had never stopped being his wife.
He had thought that heâd get used to seeing you grow ill and passing away by now, but it never got any easier. Usually it was when you reached your older years, so it was jarring to see you so young but so ill and fragile. The sight of you in pain made him collapse to his knees, begging you to take back your last wish so that youâd be reborn again. This wasnât how it was supposed to end.
But you had simply shook your head, even daring a slight smile as you offered your hand for him to take.
The heart rate monitor was slow, consistently beeping in the otherwise silent room. Both your parents had gone for the today, having been convinced by the nurse that they needed to go home and get some sleep even if it was just for a few hours.
Even without Jungkookâs expertise in the area, Jin knew that by the long paces in-between each beat, your heart was slowing down. This was not a battle you were going to fight this time. Although, with a fond smile, he recalled how well you once fought with a sword when you had to defend your home from thieves back in Greece.
Or that time when in Paris, some fool thought that he could run off with your purse when the two of you had been walking along Le Mur des Je tâaimes in Montmartre in Paris at dusk. Not only had you made the French raise an eyebrow at your choice words â spoken perfectly might he add â but you had even made the police nod in approval.
âOh darling,â Jin whispered, kissing your hand again as his eyes watered up. âYou have lived so many beautiful lives. I just wish I had been there more than I was.â
Tears dripped down his cheeks as he bowed his head, sending a silent prayer that your soul would reach the Underworld without any trouble, and another to Seonghwa personally, pleading for him to take care of you until he decided your fate.
When he lifted his head, your hand slumped in his while the glimmer of silver light that had been surrounding your body disappeared. Gently, he placed your hand back on the bed, the nurses rushing in when a single long beep echoed from the heart monitor.
But Jin was gone by then.
It had been weeks since the funeral. Not a word had been heard from Seonghwa about his decision, there hadnât even been a heads up to let Jin know if your soul arrived to the Underworld or not.
As a result, the night sky had been cloudy. With the exception of when he visited your grace and he made the moon and stars glow brightly just for you, the nights had been dark and dreary, just like how he felt. The other Gods were used to him being emotional after your deaths, but this hit harder for Jin, and the longer he went without knowing where you soul ended up, he was starting to think that heâd never see you again.
He had centuries of memories with you, and as wonderful as they all were, there was nothing better than being able to hold and kiss you all over again.
He hadnât been back to Earth since then. There was no point, you had been the main reason for all his visits. He had debated on going down to visit your wisteria tree. It was your meeting spot, a sacred place the two of you shared, but it wouldnât be the same if he were to arrive and not see you there with a smile.
Instead, he had taken to walking around his garden more often than not, isolating himself from the other Gods and choosing to be by himself. The night the two of you had planted the sapling on Earth, in his own personal garden up in heaven, the wisteria sapling appeared even though he hadnât planted one. Over the years it grew alongside yours, a perfect replica that reminded him of you that he visited often when you were in-between lives.
It was to the wisteria tree that he found himself walking towards, hands crossed behind his back, the moon high in the sky. His mind drifted away, barely even thinking about the duties he had to attend to. There were already plenty of council meetings that he had missed and as lenient as Namjoon was, Jin needed to get his act together soon or thereâd be consequences. His brothers knew how much he loved you, they themselves all had their own experiences with their own special human, but he had gotten more time with you than any other.
The time to move on was drawing near.
Gently separating the branches, Jin entered the hideaway that the wisteria tree created, itâs petals and branches acting as a veil from reality for the time being. Perhaps he would stay out here and reminisce on the past, at least until it was time for the moon to descend.
âHey there handsome, youâre late.â
Jinâs eyes widened as he suddenly looked towards the trunk of the tree, staring at the woman standing there.
Your eyes twinkled brighter than the stars, a subtle silver laurel wreath style crown was placed gently on top of your hair, and you wore the white cloth dress with the silver belt that you had worn on the day you two got married. Your first wedding to be exact.
âWhat?â You asked, your smile widening as you stepped closer to your husband, unable to help yourself from teasing him a little bit. âDo you usually meet up with another woman here?â
In his chest, he felt his heart warm up and begin to beat again at the sight of you. Not wanting to risk you disappearing from him, Jin hurried to your side and swept you off the ground, your laughter echoing throughout the garden as you hugged him back just as a tightly, both his and your bodies glimmering with a silver outline in the darkness.
âDarling, Iâve missed you,â Jin cried, not wanting to speak anymore to kiss your shoulders and neck. Everywhere and anywhere he could, he kissed before finally reaching your soft lips, not letting you get a single word out as an explanation because to be frank, he didnât care anymore.
You were by his side once again, and without either of you breaking from the sweet reunion, the stars began to illuminate in the night for the first time in months. The moonlight bathed the world in silver stardust, protecting the humans who walked in the night and granting safe journeys to wherever they went, and a blessing for lovers all around.
Even the Gods themselves were stepping out of their homes, all admiring how beautiful the moon and stars looked tonight.
Jin would no longer have to mourn the loss of you, or only have one life at time with you. NowâŠnow the two of you had an eternity of moonlit nights to be together.
