The Warden’s Will Breaker lives up to its name. It’s something that keeps Dream on his toes, and it was something that Sam kept using. Dream started talking a bit more after Sapnap’s visit and that’s when Sam knew that he’d won. 

Whatever Dream wanted, whatever Dream thought he could use, he couldn’t. Sam doesn’t use it without justification, but he does withhold what he can. Sometimes, it’s the company of other people, and sometimes it’s how much potatoes he can give to the prisoner.

No one comes to see him anymore, if Sam’s being honest. It’s a fitting ending for a horrible person. 

Will Breaker gleams in Sam’s hands, and he eyes the empty cell, only Dream standing in there. Sam feels anger and guilt welling up inside him, and he purses his lips before picking up the potatoes scattered around. 

“Why?” Sam asks. He thought the fire inside Dream’s eyes died long, long ago and yet here he is. Just like when he first arrived.

“He called me a liar,” Dream spit out. 

Sam notes how Dream says it. Like he’s desperate, and trying to tell Sam something else. I didn’t mean to. Please.
