1 May 1945. Six Spitfire XIV's of 41 Squadron flown by Flight Lieutenant Peter Cowell and Flying Officer Wally Jallands intercepted six Focke-Wulf 190D-9s of 13/JG 51 "Mölders." It was JG 51's last mission before surrendering to Allied forces.

A Focke-Wulf 190D at an unspecified airstrip. Although intended as a stop gap until the FW Ta152 had been developed it proved to be one of the best Luftwaffe fighter bombers of the war.
April 27, 1945 above Berlin Hans Dortenmann will collide with 5 Russian Yak3s.. after a brief fight he Abattra 1 before he managed to escape.
This will be his last victory in the war...

The Fw 190A started flying operationally over France in August 1941, and quickly proved superior in all but turn radius to the RAF's main front-line fighter, the Spitfire Mk V.
The later D-9 'Dora' variant featured the Junkers Jumo 213 A01 (a 12-cylinder inverted-V piston engine), giving it the longer nose.
