so I've been spending a good amount of my time going over the warframe languages. I have a good grasp on orokin, hollvanian, solari and spoken ostron, but what I've been especially devoted to is voidtongue and vosphene glyphs

was doing a duviri run yesterday and found a new (to me) zariman quiz tablet that mentioned that the glyphs could be used as emergency visual communication which is *so* neat saying that we know them as what is written on the walls and other surfaces, what protects the vitrium, and above the little towers in Deimos

which brings up the point that the orokin utilized these void words to communicate which meant they *held other meaning* whether that be made up or deciphered

on the topic of the tablets, they devolve from simple questions to mad attempts at communication from wally

sense a theme here? communication. All through what we know of wally and the void, it's been used to create communication

alberecht opening communication with the void, it speaking back, reaching out. using the finger to create travel to other civilizations, giving voices to those without, using the glyphs as emergency signals, just all tied back to that sense of longing for connection

I see the indifference as almost a feral animal. While yes, it is fierce, attacks when backed into a corner, and malicious it also longs for connection with others and has that primal jealousy

themes of love and connection are common with the void but I really didn't realize it went that far back

I mentioned this a little bit ago but straight up. Like.

So much of Wally's behavior seems like genuine attempts to reach out, and its just damn unfortunate that many of their behaviors ring as uncanny valley because I??? Dont know if they were intended to be.

Wally knocks on the walls so we know they're there. He smiles at us, he calls us by names that in any other circumstance would be endearing. She's put so much effort into, at very least with the drifter, genuinely relating to them or at very least showing that they have shared experiences. (Gestures wildly at all of Isleweaver)

Additionally, it was Rell who held them back. We're never really told *how*, but just LOOKING at the ENTIRE scenario screams "Rell was Wally's friend, and held their attention, even though the relationship clearly wasn't healthy and is extremely reminiscent of Thrax and the Drifter)

AND RELL LIKE. CANONICALLY IS BAD AT EXPRESSIONS

. And that we know of, nobody really Taught wally how to be a human. Nobody taught them how to relate, nobody told them why they were constantly being poked and prodded at and used and restrained and taken from and denied the most basic levels of humanity and autonomy.

Of course they're not all that nice anymore except to a very specific few. Of course they want the operator. Of course they're bitter and angry. Of course they've made an army to try and reclaim the bits of their body that were stolen away. Of course they were possessive of Rell.

And. The glyphs. Are emergency visual communication.
