So I just got this amazing email from the fuse gallery in Amsterdam for the Smash the nerative exhibition. Hi Igor, Congratulations. You won the the second prize. Many people who I showed the catalogue or gave a tour of the gallery were asking about everything but seemed to want to skip over your piece. They didn't even want to look at it - which I think proves your point well. I also admired the piece for it's lack of self-censorship. An issue which people often feel they need to hint at or hide in some way - you didn't do that. I feel your piece comes from a place of deep authenticity. Finally I simply felt a strong emotional impact from your piece which I believe is the purpose of art. There was one incident. We had hired a singer to provide live music throughout the night. After singing one song she saw your painting and stormed out in disgust. Therefore I didn't have to pay her. This only confirmed my choice. The first prize went to the black canvas smuggled out of Iran under fake flowers.
