Bug Fables "cordyswap AU"
An AU where just about every bug is infected with benign fungi that give them magic powers. I also gave Leif a rapier because they deserve nice things.
Kabbu is still very strong, and his affinity to Earth helps him charge into and flip foes, as well as protect his team from physical attacks.
Vi (full name now Volt, with sister Joule) has a connection to Electric, as do most bees in her hive. She's a bit, uh, creative and wanton with how she slings around zappy bolts. Definitely gave Kabbu a shock as a prank on meeting him.
Leif's wing-cloak is remarkably resistant to magic, allowing them to protect... usually just Vi from magical attacks. Rather than being ice-focused, they mainly flit in and out with their rapier, poking through foes' defense and dancing around those who try to block other foes.
