for those unaware because they don't similarly comb through frog96's scrapbox (which, i highly, highly recommend if you're a fan of their music) lost delusion was explicitly inspired by this specific cut of pentatonix's lucky charms video!
here's an excerpt of the page crudely google translated:
This song has a pretty clear homage (copy) source, and it starts at 1:06 in the video below, where Pentatonix sings the commercial for the famous American cereal "Lucky Charms." If you listen to it, you'll notice that it's very similar (especially the texture at the end). The original version of this video has disappeared, so I don't really know what the song itself is (I wonder if it's an a cappella cover of a commercial), but I really love the 15 seconds starting at 1:06, and I'll keep this section forever. There was a time when I had to go back and play it again and again, but it was so short that I felt like, ``I just want to listen to this part for about 3 minutes…'' and that became the motivation for creating this song. I am. So the rhythm, chords, melody, and most of the ideas are based on the 15 seconds above.
other inspirations for this song include inabakumori (just in general) & hitorinbo envy, which is more than evident, but it's so cool seeing that confirmation!
here's the link to the making-of entry they have for lost delusion in particular, but def check out their entire page; they have entire pages worth of inspirations, music theory, song breakdowns, vsts, and even after effects tutorials for how they edit their videos. and this is in addition to making the song stems + midi files publicly available and free to download!
