I think a lot of the candy people would be like that one episode with the banana guards where they often have bizarre and impressive hobbies/talents that they enjoy but hide from the princess because they figure breaking away from their pre-determined roles will be met with disapproval. Also what else can you do besides hone a weird talent when there are like no active businesses in town besides the bar
