When I do sell my stuff, since I am 100% a hobbyist (uh, sp?), and I have zero desire to have this as side hustle (I am adamantly anti-hustle kthx), I price so I don't uncut working artists, and everything over my cost of materials is donated to various organisations I think are important. For example, all of my Medusa-themed work goes to local support for people victimised by sexual assault. The guillotine-themed work benefits mass defense of those protesting the current regime and its terrorism.
I'm SO stoked that I sold 15 pieces (of 40) in my first sale, and donated $700 to various organisations, including RAICES
Incredibly validating AND fulfilling
I've been attending pottery classes and these are what I've made so far, a garlic jar and two egg holders. I glazed these pieces the other night, and they're in a kiln now. I'm so excited to see and share the finalized pieces.
