We left Detroit on Tuesday afternoon for Toronto.  Having never been to Toronto, let alone Canada, I had no idea what to expect.  Would it stand up to what I imagined it to be?  A crane climbing, shiny building, mecca?  After hours of driving through countryside that reminded me of the Great Plains we could see the skyline peaking up over the horizon.  Coming from Detroit, it was a huge shock to see such a vibrant city.  We arrived at Sean Galbraith's home in the heart of the city just as the sun had set.  Being photographers the first thing we did was dump our bags and rush to the roof to take advantage of the perfect light to grab a few skyline shots.  Needless to say Toronto was everything I had dreamed it would be.

We woke up the following morning bright and early and left for the Northumberland County airport.  Little did Jordyn know, I had arranged to meet up with my friend Brent and his family who were taking rides on a stunt biplane.  The photos of which still need to be scanned.  She was the first to go up and instantly looped back around over the runway leaving a trail of smoke and then twisting straight up before flying off into the distance.  After 15-20 minutes of doing barrel rolls, hammerheads, all sorts of twists and turns with a little upside down time she returned to the ground with a huge grin on her face.  We each took a ride before parting ways around 1pm.  After we said goodbye to my family we hit the road for Detroit.  Despite leaving later than planned we made a few pitstops in Pennsylvania to stretch our legs and take some photos.

This Friday Jordyn and I will embark on a 1,600 mile road trip making a loop to through New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Ontario.  Many adventures will ensue beginning with a detour in New York and a visit to my parent's house in Pennsylvania, a couple days in Detroit, and a night in Toronto, before returning to Boston next week.
