Aftershocks ||Thomas and Meg
Thomas hadnât really wanted to go to Meganâs house. He didnât want to talk about everythingâwhy he had done what heâd done, how he was feeling, and how everything was going to spiral out of control. Shaking his head, he had limped to the carâhe was off work of his own choice, using some of his accumulated time off to try to get himself back in order. He couldnât believe he had hit a submissive. He couldnât believe he had let Mateo get under his skin. But he supposed it had just been the final straw.
He hadnât had time to get a new cane yet, so he relied on his pain medication and beer to manage. Though, he hadnât been drinking today. He didnât want to see Megan while drink. Now, he took a car as he had been told. He didnât have the patience for the motorbike at the moment.
Thomas ended up lingering on the porch for a long moment, steeling himself. Shaking his head, he knew he couldnât avoid it forever. So he forced himself to knock.
Megan didnât know how she was feeling about everything. Her own emotions were already stretched with the last few days events and then to hear about her brother on top of it all had her head reeling. Ironically her thoughts kept turning to Oz and what he would say to her about it all and she had to push those musings aside, a fact which was ridiculously challenging.
She sat on the couch working on a paper she was due to present to the hospital board in a few days though she was really listening out for the telltale roar of Thomasâ motorbike and mentally gearing up to berate him about riding that when he wasnât fit. Caught by surprise when she heard the knock she realised that he had, for once, actually listened to her.Â
âHi,â she said with a rather forced smile as she opened the door and ran her gaze up and down the tall Dominant.  âCome in, do you want a drink?â Â
