“I know, mami.” The words were let out through clenched teeth. Val always spoke to her mother in English when she was trying to keep her manners in check. It might also be a good middle finger to her since her English was obviously better.  “Yo se, ma. I know what time. I’ll be there. We’ll be there. Yes, I know you don’t like waiting. Well, if you let me go then you won’t have to worry about me being late…” Val imagined that most girls would be happy to have their mother visit from out of town. It just wasn’t the case with her. Apparently, Victoria was staying in New York a little longer than expected to talk to some director who was shooting a Spanish movie in New York City. It would definitely be a step up for the notorious telenovela star, but Val just couldn’t find it in herself to care. Victoria never relished in her victories so why should she care about her mother’s. Either way, this dinner wasn’t something she had a say in. Being seen out with her doting daughter was a publicity opportunity that Victoria couldn’t miss out on, and fighting it definitely wasn’t worth the nagging. The only thing she had control over was who joined them for dinner.

Santana was nice enough to agree to the adventure despite Val explaining her mother’s personality. It was at the small price of a role in her play, which she would have asked Santana to play anyway. She was judgmental, critical, and she did all things with a smile. If it had been anyone else, Val would be worried about scaring a friend off. However, if anyone was suited for this challenge, it would be Santana. Val took her car to Santana’s Manhattan residence. She wasn’t one for driving, but her mother had already requested that she not show up in a taxi. It was likely a request for Val to show off the silver Corvette one of her friends had purchased for her. No mind the fact that Val really hated driving. Val pulled out her phone and hit the contact button for Santana. “Hey, I’m outside awaiting my doom when you’re ready. Please take your time.”

Valeria had patience, she had to with the profession she’s chosen for herself. But by the end of the day she found herself nearly in tears and a very upset little girl seated in her seat as they waited for her father to show up. She knew what Rae was going through, of course she knew. She watched the news after all and generally children didn’t transfer into her class near the end of a semester. Still, that didn’t change the fact that throwing her blocks at a peer and around the room was not okay. 

Stacking her graded papers neatly on her desk she put her hands on top of them, looking up to where Rae was sitting and giving her what she hoped would be a nice reassuring smile. Standing up from her seat she made her way towards the small girl, sitting in one of the seats beside her and placing her hand over hers. “It’ll be okay, promise. We’re just going to have a little chat.” Rae gave her a tearful nod before going back to the homework she had been working on. Giving her small hand a squeeze she turned towards the door as it slowly opened. “Welcome, Mr. D’angelo.” She greeted, standing up and smoothing a hand over her dress. 

He was cute and nice and also very boring. Grace had promised herself she’d never agree to another blind date again, and yet when Michelle had coerced her into one she hadn’t put up much of a fight. She hadn’t gotten dressed up in quite a bit for the sake of a date, nor had she been invited to drinks or anything of the like. So dressing up and getting food hadn’t seemed like much trouble. Except for that he was boring and she was trying to think of excuses as why she had to leave as soon as he’d excused himself to go to the restroom. 

Leaning back in her seat she gently swirled the wine in in her glass. She was so focused on what she was doing that she didn’t notice the handsome man glancing at her before he headed her way. Hearing the chair being pulled out she straightened up and looked across the table at.. not her date. “You’re not Adam.” she commented, slight confusion in her voice.

One moment he was kissing her, the next he was walking away and Lucy didn’t understand. Her lips tingeld and her cheeks were tainted a rosy pink. If she didn’t have a class right after she would have stomped after him and demand he explain himself. But she did so she headed towards her class and tried to pay attention to lecture. By the end of it her notes where a mess and she couldn’t stop thinking of his stupid smirky face. 

Her day went much the same, half written notes and multiple thoughts going through her head. She wanted to scream and she wanted to scream at him. So when she saw him in the hallways, surrounded by his little fan club, she wasted no time in stomping over to him, hand wrapping around his and pulling him into the closest empty class room. “You don’t just get to kiss me,” she pushed him against the door, ignoring the smirk already forming on his lips. “And then walk away, Malfoy!” 

[The familiar weariness of being on a broom for hours hitting bludgers at invisible targets began to settle into her bones as she sat down across from where Kitty was sitting and Lucy welcomed it with open arms. When Kitty had owled her with the prospect of having a small practice session she had jumped at the chance. The anger, sadness, frustration, and anxiety had begun building inside her for the last week or so was slowly driving her a bit mad. Hitting something was bound to let some of those feelings out, which was exactly what the small blonde needed. Now her body felt relaxed. Relaxed in a way she hadn’t felt since the bonfire.] “So we know why I needed a good sessions of hitting something but why did you?” [Lucy asked, staring across the table at the blonde. One hand wrapped around a bottle of butter beer, bringing it up to her lips as she waited for Kitty to reply.]

“I’m getting bored, Maddison.”

[She made sure her mocking words were loud enough for the fans to hear as she smiled down at the brunette kneeling in the ring. Running towards the ropes she bounced off them, dropkicking Maddison in the face before standing up with a cheerful smile on her face. The smile widening at the boos the nxt crowd bestowed her with. Giving a shrug towards the audience she headed towards the ropes, knowing their time was almost up. Climbing the ring post she balanced on the ropes, not noticing the fans quieting down and the confused Maddison rolling away from the designated place, before gracefully flipping backwards. 

A shock of pain rolled through her body as she curled up on her side, her body meeting the ring instead of the body she was supposed to have landed on. Rolling onto her side she heard the bell declaring the match to be over which only served to confuse her even more. Blinking up at the bright lights she shook her head at the face that appeared before her.]

“Becca?”

A pout seemed to be permanently etched to her lips as she looked up from their hands resting comfortably on her knees. Legs draped across his lap, with her partially sitting on him, and back pressed into the arm of the couch."Do you really have to go?" she asked looking at him with what she hoped were her best puppy dog eyes. "These past few days weren't nearly enough."
