It’d only been a few days since she’d returned to the city from her mandatory week-long visit home, but Abigail had successfully adapted to the lifestyle of a couchsurfer. There was nothing stopping her from going back to her dorm (especially when she was free of a roommate until the fall semester), but over the last few days, she’d taken to wasting away alongside Kim as much as possible. Abi had crashed in Kim’s room for a few nights and even passed out on the sofa once after an intense Netflix binge -- there was a chance that she was overstaying her welcome, but she wasn’t about to ask. Situated on the living room floor with one leg drawn close, chin rested on her knee, Abi was making an valiant attempt at warding off boredom by painting her toenails. “Hey, Kim?” She called out, eyebrows pinched together in concentration as she dabbed her pinky nail. “Can I ask you something?” Her cheeks puffed out as she blew cold air towards her toes, leaning back to grab the bottle of polish. She looked to her friend with wide eyes and an earnest smile. “And you’ve gotta be, like, brutally fucking honest with me, alright? No bullshittery.”
