"Megaaannnn --” Nathaniel punctuated his ex’s name with a groan, stooping beside the edge of the curb to take another handful of loose gravel. He stood up straight again with the slightest sway, lucky to still be holding it together after four consecutive tequila shots and an admittedly horrible bike ride to her place. He glared up at the window he thought was Megan’s and started pelting the tiny rocks. “Babe, c’mon! I know you can hear me in there. I just wanna talk, Megs!” And that really was the truth. Nate had been understandably upset about being broken up with -- and even more pissed that Megan had done the dumping in front of his fraternity brothers, but he’d waited until now to approach her about it. He’d waited until he was oozing into his happy drunk stage to face any conflict. Still, underlying frustration lingered as Nathaniel tossed a whole fistful of gravel towards the window, another groan escaping him. “Megan!”
