– SHE DOESN’T REALLY WANT TO DO IT, but the whole point of leaving is about tackling stuff you’re scared of, right ? so, she finishes her drink and places her glass back on the bar. pleasant, warm buzz courses through her when she comes up behind him to tug the arm of his suit. “ feel like dancing ? ” 

“ wait, trip, don’t – ” she cries out just a little too late as the door clicks shut. “ . . . close that. ” blair’s arms fold over her chest as she stands across from him in the dim lighting of the confined closet. she can already feel the burn of her cheeks under the pressure of his gaze and she looks away, an annoyed huff escaping her lips. “ it locks from the inside, dipshit. ” 

– SHE FUMBLES WITH HER LIGHTER A MINUTE, leaning up against the wall in the back alley where they pick up the dumpsters. her head feels foggy, probably from everything that she drank during the meeting, not even caring which hands her favorite flask has ended up in. “ fuck, ” she mutters, unlit cigarette between her lips, snow starting to puddle around her shoes. eyes lift when she sees someone else walk out the back door, gaze locking with trip’s. the cigarette falls from her lips onto the wet asphalt and she covers it with the heel of her boot in a huff. she looks at him for a moment like she wants to say something, but she isn’t sure, even though she had plenty of offhanded remarks for him during the meeting. “ i . . . ” her breath comes out in a smoky cloud, “ i can’t do this right now. ” 

 “ didn’t recognize you at first. very hot. you’re still freeloading ? ” she asks even though she knows the answer is yes, just pushing buttons to see if it’s something that’ll bother him or not. 

     WHEN  MAX  RETURNS  TO  THE  LIVING  ROOM  with  a  bowl  of  warm,  fresh  popcorn,  trip  is  already  situated  with  monroe  on  his  lap.  the  first  musical  number  of  a  goofy  movie  has  just  ended  when  max  slides  down  next  to  her  roommate,  heart  filling  with  so  much  love  from  the  proximity.  she  knows  she  hasn’t  been  easy  lately,  but  these  last  couple  of  days  have  been  better  —  considerably  so.  still,  there’s  something  on  her  mind.  trip  can  probably  already  tell,  seeing  as  max  wasn’t  scream  -  singing  to  tevin  campbell  the  way  she  uses  to  whenever  this  particular  movie  is  on.  «  can  i  tell  you  something  ?  »  she  asks  suddenly,  moving  slightly  in  her  seat  to  face  him.

          the bar’s so busy sloane’s losing her buzz just waiting to get a bartender’s attention. she’s drumming her fingers on the counter when she notices trip, also waiting, also looking bored out of their mind. she slides up next to him, and nudges her elbow against his. “what’s a girl gotta do for a drink, amirite? i mean, do i have to blow someone or something?” she chuckles, then looks around tentatively before slipping behind the bar. sloane shovels some ice into a cup, grabs a pair of shot glasses, then turns to trip. “any preferences?”

     SHE’S  BROWSING  THROUGH  A  RACK  OF  SHIRTS  when  she  hears  the  curtain  of  trip’s  changing  room  indicating  that  he’s  ready  for  the  reveal.  it’s  incredible  how  close  the  two  have  truly  grown  ever  since  trip  came  back  —  and  quite  honestly  she’s  honored  he  even  thought  to  ask  her  on  this,  in  her  head  anyway,  important  mission.  max  turns  on  her  heel  ready  to  inspect  her  roommate  when  she  sees  trip  in  some  velvety  mess  —  and  her  hand  shoots  up  to  cover  her  mouth,  stifling  a  laugh.  «  i  mean,  »  she  begins,  biting  her  lip.  «  in  your  defense  i  don’t  think  anyone  can  pull  that  off.  and  it’s  way  too  narrow  on  your  shoulders.  »  she  walks  closer  to  inspect  him,  pulling  gently  at  his  arm,  adjusting  the  collar.  «  i  think  we’re  going  too  big  here.  we  need  something  simpler,  more  elegant.  »

max  can  sleep  for  days  if  given  the  chance,  but  she  also  loves  long  mornings  and  usually  tries  to  get  up  around  7  am  regardless  of  whether  she  has  plans  that  day  or  not  as  it  tricks  her  into  feeling  more  productive  than  she  really  is.  more  often  than  not  she  fails  though.  she  has  a  big  breakfast  because  it  is  the  most  important  meal  of  the  day  then  she’ll  pack  her  own  lunch  (  and  sometimes  trip’s  )  and  head  to  work.  get  home,  make  dinner,  watch  a  movie,  listen  to  music  while  she  reads  or  writes.  goes  for  a  late  night  walk  every  evening.  has  sex  with  kem.  takes  a  shower.  goes  to  bed  <3
