&&. CLOSED STARTER @laineycaldwell
WHERE: the farmer's market WHEN: wednesday, may 29th, in the morning
Lia strolled through the bustling farmers' market, her canvas tote slung over her shoulder. The air was filled with the mingling scents of fresh produce, baked goods, and blooming flowers. The vibrant colors and lively atmosphere made her feel a bit more capable of conquering the world, or at least her weekly grocery list that she had totally meant to get to over the weekend but forgot about.
She smiled and chatted with vendors, adding items to her tote as she went along. As she moved from stall to stall, she couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. This was adulting at its finest—choosing organic, locally sourced ingredients, supporting small businesses. It was a far cry from the days of instant noodles and take-out.
Lia wandered through the crowded aisles of the local farmers' market, her tote filled with fresh vegetables and a loaf of artisan bread. She was lost in her thoughts, trying to make very grown-up decisions on what to have for dinner that she would actually want to cook for dinner, when a familiar, melodious laugh caught her attention. Her heart skipped a beat, and she turned, almost dropping her basket. There, not ten feet away, was Lainey. The girl she'd had a massive crush on throughout high school, and hadn't seen since.
"Lainey!" Lia called out, before she could even really register what she was doing, her sudden movement causing some of the contents of her tote bag to spill out. Her cheeks flushed and she bent down to hurriedly pick the items back up. How embarrassing.
