Brook:

We don’t talk about their first meeting...

Brook often comes and gets her for breakfast, playing something soft to stir her if she has drifted asleep again after the night-watch.

He has a great influence on her mood, Serena being such an auditory person. (More than once he has been asked to play, when other crew members made her upset, in an attempt to pacify the petty fuming;;)

The musician always encourages anyone on the crew to sing along with him, their resident witch being no exception. Even if she doesn’t feel she has the knack for it that others do, she’ll be chiming in with some extra prompting.

Being the late night watchman, Serena is typically the one to catch Brook in his flashback episodes; roaming the ship at night, talking to crew mates of his past who are no longer there. In the beginning the fledgling tried to snap him out of it but has determined it better to let him take his course; simply shadowing him to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself by accident.

At first, she didn’t believe that Brook could be susceptible to, at least, the visual symptoms of her projection talent. That was, until one night, during a flashback episode, he looked straight at her (when she was normally insignificant to him) and warned, “Don’t let him catch you, alright?” . Eventually Brook went to bed but, needless to say, Serena didn’t sleep that night.

It was quickly established who the lovers of word-play were on the ship. Sure, Brook prefers to keep their playful banter to anatomy-based puns but they do find themselves straying the longer the pun war goes. However, anyone on the ship can tell by a simple glance who the winner of the most recent pun war was; victor get’s to wear the other person’s hat until supper that evening.
