Cross is late to find him and clear things out-
Okay if we go to canon tl epic doesn't have to worry about being executed π that's a thing only error does π
How I imagine it happening is that Epic was taking a shower in the royal bathroom (idk cross and Dream's bathroom) and then dream came into the bathroom and was like "......Wtf?" So he called the guards to come get Epic's ass π and I imagine epic was like frantically trying to find his dirty clothes. So Epic was taken down into the prison (dw they got him some clothes, just not his regular clothes....)
Then later that day cross and dream are chatting and cross asks if anything interesting happened today, which Dream tells Cross the story. Cross immediately figures out what happened since he had seen epic all day, so he goes down to the cellars to 1. Laugh at Epic and then 2. Give him his normal clothes and let him out.
To this day the entire castle has rumors about what that man wanted. "Why was he naked in the royal chambers? How did he escape?"
