I will say, The Cruel Prince trilogy is one of those stories that I loved, but it only gets better if you stick with it. I thought TCP was good, TWK was great, BUT QUEEN OF NOTHING IS FANTASTIC
Holly Black did such a beautiful job of weaving these characters, stories and plots together with so much care. The resolution of so many of these story lines are so satisfying when you stick with it. I haven’t read a book in less than 3 days in a WHILE she kept me thoroughly hooked.

First of all, ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE OF BARB. JESUS. I really need to write a video essay on her, she's such a perfect depiction of a narcissistic parent.
(More thoughts below, it just got a little long)
I keep thinking about her intense desire for family and connection, but only within her narrow terms. Her mother created on her such a great fear of abandonment that she can't see the way her behavior pushes people away (not a defense, it's fascinating to see her character develop as time passes). If she's not happy, she punishes those around her. If things are not done EXACTLY how she wants, then she lashes out. Truly unhinged.
ALSO can we talk about how she keeps trying to turn her against John?????? INSANE.
When first he decided to tell Barb to get out of his house and not see him again (after the anniversary), her tactic with Jen was: IT was Shawna! She turned him against me and she hates you too! But because her bond with her was not as strong as it is now, she kind of just brushed it off. The triangulation failed. Now, we really see what her weak spot is. And Barb discovered it too, Jonathan. She cares deeply for her brother, and he biggest fear is for him to genuinely hate her. Probably because, as all siblings, we are truly the only ones who can understand what our parents do when others aren't looking. We are the only ones who can look at our sibling and with just a look say "Yup, mom is at it again." He is her stability when it comes to the family dynamic, and Jen has always been her punching bag. Which in my humble opinion, is what caused Jen to be so unlikable in the beginning. She was in, "please mom so she will be calm" mode. Jennifer knows EXACTLY what happens when Barb doesn't get her way.
Jennifer might be sassy, but I saw her shrink through that video. Falling into a pattern too familiar, a simpler one. Where she has to be helpful, appease, or she gets punished emotionally.
I just rewatched all of steven universe after years and I need the Fandom to explain why they didn't like the ending because it ties everything in a neat little bow with a beautiful message I am so mad that for so many years I didn't finish the show because people badmouthed it so much that I thought it was not worth watching it Y'ALL WHAT WERE YOU ON ABOUT

2. They're supplementing with wheat germ as we see in the juice box stand in the train station
Or 3. There is a chicken farm where chickens are imprisoned and forced to lay eggs to feed the entire zootopia population and that's what z3 is going to be about because they will liberate the chickens
Either is plausible, but I'm leaning towards chickens
