There had been barely a moment to unpack and get settled in the rented cottage, and yet her work had already begun. A postcard and a fractured porcelain doll face were all it had taken to draw her interest.  The card read like poetry exchanged between lovers but it held a sense of threat directed toward its intended recipient. Â
Of course, the sender did not leave a return postal address, and so locating this ‘admirer’ was not possible. The postcard was a common print that could be found in various shops throughout the city, so tracking its buyer that way would be impossible. It had been delivered by postal courier who found it on his desk along with the payment for delivery so a description of the sender was also out. There was not much to go on at all.Â
Yurissa read the postcard, again and again, wondering how it would be possible to track it to its origin. There were a few questions that needed to be asked in order to determine the senders intent toward the Lady. However, there simply were not enough clues.  For a few days, Yurissa paced the floors of the cottage contemplating on what the next move would be, and it finally dawned on her.
The sender had the forethought to ensure they remained unseen when sending the postcard. No address, no signature, and the usage of a commonly found postcard alone were all to point in the same direction. This perhaps was not his or her first time, and if that were the case perhaps there were records of his or her activity in the past.Â
Yurissa decided to check the newspaper archives that spoke of this love letter mystery admirer to see if there was anything to be found there. Was this truly an admirer or perhaps was it something darker?  A stalker perhaps to haunt the Lady’s steps at every turn? A kidnapper who had to possess what it desired? Or was it a serial killer that had been overlooked as the world changed around them?Â
Perhaps she would find nothing at all, but Yurissa was not the type to sit around an wait for things to happen. This was now her top priority as promises had been made to others of the bloodline, and the investigation began. A sigh escaped her lips as she brought herself to her feet, only time locked in a dusty old newspaper archive would suit her now, and she could only hope to find anything useful.Â
